I will NEVER understand why Smash never uses the Pokémon victory jingle for the Pokémon fighters. I feel like every series that has a victory jingle should just have it in Smash, instead of just abridging the main theme.

I'm normally not a big fan of videos like these because a lot of the time it feels like fans trying to implement what they personally want in a way that feels forced instead of using what makes sense, but I think this video does a great job of picking music that represents each character and their personalities properly. I also like that you left in a handful of the official victory themes instead of writing them all off.
I did a lot of studying on each of the characters to try and get their themes as accurate to character as possible. Probably my biggest fumble was Sora.
steve having minecraft's main theme instead of the challenge (challenges like Adventuring Time, A Furious Cocktail, How Did We Get Here?, Uneasy Alliance, etc.) complete sound effect is 10x better
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course. It was a tossup for me but ultimately the goal of this project wad prioritizing originality, and steve’s is a direct port. See sonic.
@@worcestershirey clearly, you didnt get a full set of netherite armor, counterattacked a ghast using its own fireball, killed a ghast in the overworld, ate all edible food (even the bad ones), traveled to all overworld biomes, traveled to all nether biomes, tamed EVERY type of cat, had every potion effect, had EVERY effect, bred every mob with a breed capability, made a netherite hoe, etc
Adding a guitar to Sonic's theme is oh so perfect, as was Mega Mans and soooo many others. My personal favorite was King Dededes, but I am heavily biased to the character, so of course I'd say that. Also, giving Kazuya an actual victory theme is so satisfying to see given that he was the only character without one before. You guys truly did amazing with this!

Had to rewind to listen to Piranha Plant's theme again, it just makes me so happy for someone reason. (it's because I love the Underground Theme and find it to be a perfect choice here)

@@GB6__YT And coincidentally, Fire Emblem Engage came out and the Emblem Rings featuring older characters have little jingles when they are first summoned. The themes we chose just so happen to be the songs that are remixed in those jingles! I think we can pat ourselves on the backs for those ones!

It's absolutely criminal that Ness's original victory jingle from Melee got replaced by whatever it is now. Also the victory jingle used for the Pokemon Trainer in this video is genius.

I’d love it if Smash could actually do this. Seriously, some of these are so easy it almost hurts that they don’t give everyone unique themes. But for real, Daisy’s was perfect.
Smash ultimate was so well done that when I find something a fan does better it’s so surprising to me. Also as someone who played Radiant Dawn SO MUCH as a kid. Hearing that version of “Eternal Bond” with Ike’s smash victory screen gave me goosebumps and made me happy in a way I can’t properly explain.

The only one that gives me pause is Meta Knight - because a more fitting than the Halberd theme would be an arrangement of "My Friend and the Setting Sun." Most modern Kirby games use that as his theme song (and there's a short jingle version in Star Allies that would be a perfect base for his victory theme). Smash fans/older Kirby fans do associate him with the Halberd theme, though so it's fine. These are all great! Especially loved Diddy Kong's!
Only showing Mii Brawler implies that not everyone got a unique Victory Theme. So if we count the Miis, then this video was a lie. What we *did* get made up for it though. A lot of cool stuff and even Results Themes for some characters. You love to see it. On the flipside, the Koopalings also share a Victory Theme with each other, which fits.
That Pichu one is honestly really clever. Having the baby pokemon be represented by the evolution theme is a great choice but also having it arranged with like a toy xylophone sound is the cherry on top.
About Wario's victory theme: that's actually original to SSBB. They based the music of Stonecarving City on that tune. No joke, go ahead and look it up!
I think it’s likely that since they were being developed at the same time, one took inspiration from the other - but you’re right, the origin is a bit unclear!

@mdalsted I think you're misinterpreting here. Nintendo often starts stuff for Smash before its respective game comes out. Greninja didn't have a name yet, but they used WIP stiff from the X and Y team to work on it. Doesn't mean that the Smash team is the one who named it.

The only one that gives me pause is Meta Knight - because a more fitting than the Halberd theme would be an arrangement of "My Friend and the Setting Sun." Most modern Kirby games use that as his theme song (and there's a short jingle version in Star Allies that would be a perfect base for his victory theme). Smash fans/older Kirby fans do associate him with the Halberd theme, though so it's fine.

Only showing Mii Brawler implies that not everyone got a unique Victory Theme. So if we count the Miis, then this video was a lie.
What we *did* get made up for it though. A lot of cool stuff and even Results Themes for some characters. You love to see it.
On the flipside, the Koopalings also share a Victory Theme with each other, which fits.

That Pichu one is honestly really clever. Having the baby pokemon be represented by the evolution theme is a great choice but also having it arranged with like a toy xylophone sound is the cherry on top.

About Wario's victory theme: that's actually original to SSBB. They based the music of Stonecarving City on that tune. No joke, go ahead and look it up!
I think it’s likely that since they were being developed at the same time, one took inspiration from the other - but you’re right, the origin is a bit unclear!

@mdalsted I think you're misinterpreting here.
Nintendo often starts stuff for Smash before its respective game comes out. Greninja didn't have a name yet, but they used WIP stiff from the X and Y team to work on it. Doesn't mean that the Smash team is the one who named it.

Well, I haven't found any proof that the song WASN'T made as an original thing for Smash. I'm going off of the evidence I've found, that's all.
There literally is a level clear theme in Wario Land: Shake It! and yet they used Stonecarving City.
