Here's something I feel like just putting out there, since I've never seen anybody talk about it My sister was a kirby main back when we played brawl when we were little, and as such we saw his final smash a lot. Enough to find out exactly how its hitbox works, and it's actually a little complex. Most straightforwardly, if you roll or spotdodge at the very moment he bangs his pans, the hitbox will pass and you'll be safe, it's only active for that one moment (though the timing can be tricky.) But the more interesting part comes with items. The range of his final smash actually changes depending on where items are currently sitting, and the hitbox will reach further if items are far away from him when he uses it. However, if you can make yourself further away than the furthest item from kirby, you can very consistently avoid the reach of it entirely! I'm pretty sure there's still a minimum range, but I don't remember how big the maximum would be, I know on stages like temple it can't grab from _all over_ the stage. All of this is coming from decade old memory, so some of it may not be 100% (especially the last bit) but I'd love to see this more thoroughly tested by someone!
When I see this title, I remember the various taunt parties on Brawl Online where people would majority pick Temple, Bridge of Eldin, Pitchochat etc. and do a bunch of classic Brawl glitches there
Small correction for the Luigi Ladder, it does kill in Smash 4, but not in Ultimate I knew this because I’ve had distinct fond memories messing around in Luigi dittos online for fun and had many ladder duels
What a nostalgia hit this video was. I did a ton of these on my own Wii as a kid, especially hours spent messing with Jigglypuff on Bridge of Eldin. Fun fact, you can do that glitch on the Pirate Ship too.
When I did that at a convention once, people from other TVs looked over and started cheering "Glitch! Glitch! Glitch! Glitch!" until I got too big for the stage. It was awesome.
2:36 note that Wario can also die in stamina mode in his final smash by eating an explosive. If he dies in this way you can control him when he revives.
here's some supplemental info on these glitches you missed (this is a long comment): - 1:24 if you use toon link's final smash on giga bowser, he gets stuck in a t-pose as TL rockets off in the same fashion as these clips. must have a character code enabled - 2:07 hit the sandbag hard enough and you can eclipse the y axis of the back barrier and fly backwards, where eventually even the blue sky texture wrap runs out and it's just a black field - 4:16 i haven't been able to replicate this yet, but there is video evidence of interrupting breaking the bottom pillar on shadow moses island, likely on the same frame as its destruction, that allows you to then stand on top of the side of the stage - 7:15 if you jump and start your reflector on a specific frame before landing, upon landing the reflector sprite (and its animation) is duplicated. it's easiest to do this and see it with wolf, just after the apex of his jump is when to start it. depending on the frame, both sprites can either be in sync and tough to see the difference, or completely out of sync which is when it looks quite funky. ah, i see a variant of this was covered at 25:25 - you can just do it on your own by landing on a specific frame! - 7:50 this also happens with a lot of different character combinations on different grades of slope. you can do it against fox on the right side of temple on a more gradual slope - 16:28 if you foxtrot much faster than this, you'll continuously accelerate to some of the fastest non-knockback horizontal speeds attainable in this game (which i believe you've covered previously) - 18:48 this ledge's collision also allows for precise control stick angles to result in temporary "glitch-hugging" the wall while attempting to fall through the platform. must be holding toward the wall, forward speed required varies per character iirc. usually around the walking/running delineator, which is 70 or 186 on the x axis - 22:43 pikachu's up-b hitbox does this as well, when it visually looks like he's stretched into a thin noodle he actually is. you can even hit him through smashville from below, it extends that high thanks for making this! I definitely think it can be turned into a series :)
12:13 I remember finding this one as a kid and using it to fight CPUs. I thought it was the coolest thing. It's nice to see it again so many years later, I've been hoping for it to show up in one of these videos.
20:57 I did this all the time as a kid. When I found it out I was taken aback and would constantly use this trick when playing with my friends and cousins.
Didn't see this one in the vid, so I'm going to share my ancient knowlegde that I only have vague memories of. I believe that in Stage Builder, if you align a vertical moving platform next to the top of a ramp block, you can walk between the ramp and the platform no matter how high the platform's moved. Merry Christmas.
It wasnt mentioned, but one of my favorite things to do online was: If you dash towards a ledge but then tilt the stick slightly diagonally forward and downward, but not enough to crouch, your character will run infinitely at the ledge.
there are plenty of glitches with the latter 2; the most advanced thing i can think of for g&w not in this video in particular is that using bucket cancels all knockback/movement speed, so if you slide off after getting hit by a bomb in sudden death, you can live by using bucket
I like how Melee has all the glitches without items and are called "techniques" while Brawl's obscure glitches are just glitches because most of them use items
I mean literally where would you even apply any of these in a game intentionally to make it any more than a funny glitch, anything that doesnt have an intentional real use in melee also gets called a glitch even if it doesnt take items like mewtwos shadow ball glitch which just crashes the game
That was a great intro! Not many content creators take revenge on a failed gimmick and it put that into perspective for me. Thanks for sharing all these epic glitches!
About the counter on Norfair lava: the frame data for the counter allows you to almost always get a powershield if you decide to hold shield instead. I was a fan of alternating between counter and powershielding.
Man if only the blue falcon had a hitbox, so you could damage other players when you get a golden hammer or warp star. 21:10 "Parry this you filthy casual." "Okay."
(11:30) Some trivia: "75 m" is pronounced "75 metres" because the m is the symbol for the unit and the symbol is pronounced in full. If it's "75 ft" you would similarly say "75 feet" and not "75 eff-tee".
i love the lack of technical terms when talking about the bulborb on distant planet "if you jump in a bulborb's mouth, he eat you. but if you jump in as giga bowser, he not eat you." "the eat-that-guy hitbox"
To add on, Foxes shine on pictochat will keep duplicating until it uses up the particle limit, which will result im oddities like Chariziard with no tail fire or invisible projectiles.
honestly I didn't even know people hated the "Brawl is much more broken than you remember" intro. I didn't really pay much mind to it because I just found learning about new glitches and seeing old ones I knew interesting.

One of my favorite things to do in Brawl was using Jigglypuff's Final Smash in Bridge of Eldin, then having Yoshi egg Jigglypuff. It's so easy and simple to do and can make Jiggs as big as the stage to the point where if you side doge to either side, she gets stage KOd immediately. Fun times.
Man I remember doing some of these with my buddy back in school, learned a lot of new ones too, thanks for this vid, happy holidays mister ternative🖤🖤🖤
Merry Christmas I actually got Brawl for my 2013 Christmas. It allowed me to realize why I was losing and I made major improvements that all the people who used to dog on me told me I improved a lot
Brawl was the game that introduced many, many new mechanics to the series (windboxes, custom stages, final smashes, assist trophies, etc), so it makes sense that the first iteration of a lot of them ended up being so janky. I remember as a kid going across UA-cam to try and find each of these glitches in order to replicate them on my own copy of Brawl.
The Elden Bridge final smash glitches were my absolute favorite thing to do in Brawl when I was a kid. Giant Jigglypuff was the funniest and coolest glitch I had ever seen back then, and even as an adult it is still one of my favorite glitches of all time. ❤
Alot of these seem random but I've seen alot of them because people LOVED to show these off during online matches. Kirbys always did the stone thing on pictochat or parrying the lava.
I know a bowser teleportation glitch where he teleports when using down b under a specific Block Formation involving platforms. I just filmed it since it would fit this Video. I have it on my channel
I was starting to think that brawl was more functional than I remembered. Thank you for the reassurance
Brawl is much more broken than you remember

bro gives brawl more love and attention than my parents ever gave me
Hang in there bud
We believe in you more than them 😅
your parents' marriage was more broken than you remember
When I see this title, I remember the various taunt parties on Brawl Online where people would majority pick Temple, Bridge of Eldin, Pitchochat etc. and do a bunch of classic Brawl glitches there
Can't wait to watch this again on Coney's stream. Great vid :)
FELLAS
Where melee was held together with duct tape and a dream, brawl was put together by a toddler with a glue stick
Brawl content is much more entertaining than you think
Notice the colors chosen for everyone in each clip. 🎄
Getting jolly with it
We getting merry tonight, right fellas?

I will also think about simply parrying the lava for a long time.
Merry Krimmas. Finding your channel was one of the best things that happened to me this year.
2:36 note that Wario can also die in stamina mode in his final smash by eating an explosive. If he dies in this way you can control him when he revives.
Mmmmm I think my memory of how broken brawl was is quite accurate indeed
Nevermind what is that blue falcon DOING?
Love to hear Daniel’s support :,) will wait for someone to show me a better bromance. Congrats on the channel success!
-Mel
Hearing you lose your absolute shit at the Blue Falcon was amazing
Also thank you for always using Red Kirby, the best Kirby
that Coney Brand™ opening was great. A good Christmas gift vid for sure~

Christmas is much more Cheerful than you remember! Thanks Skunch, love your vids.
2:05 if you send it far enough it will go OVER the barrier on the "edge of the flat earth" and reach a shadow realm-like place
1:49 if she wins, do you win the match?
Brawl was such a fun party game growing up, all items on high especially was chaos
it should’ve been a Christmas version called “brawl is much more jolly than you remember”
Glad to see you still pumping out bangers! Brawl was and will always be my childhood, and I'm glad to see someone giving it some love.
I remember this too. Would basically teleport you to the moving platform regardless of height. Guess we need a part 2 👀
It wasnt mentioned, but one of my favorite things to do online was:
If you dash towards a ledge but then tilt the stick slightly diagonally forward and downward, but not enough to crouch, your character will run infinitely at the ledge.
Guys I’m starting to think Brawl is much more broken than I remember
giant jigglypuff on bridge of eldin is by far the most memorable brawl glitch from my childhood, this was a fun nostalgia trip
12:40 and then he waddled away
Waddle waddle waddle.
Untill the very next day?
Merry Christmas, Skunch. Thank you for giving us some of my favourite videos in recent memory :)
This video better end with "and thats why"
bro ur actually a legend for your brawl content, I grew up with this game and love seeing it get so much positive attention
Shoutouts to Mr. Game & Watch, Lucas, and Shiek for not being featured lol; they truly escaped the glitchy showcase
G&W starts at 12:25
G&W being not glitchy is ironic after melee
@@DukasFiguliras Whoops :x
there are plenty of glitches with the latter 2; the most advanced thing i can think of for g&w not in this video in particular is that using bucket cancels all knockback/movement speed, so if you slide off after getting hit by a bomb in sudden death, you can live by using bucket

True. Infinite super scope, black hole, and soul stunner are all called glitches in melee
I mean literally where would you even apply any of these in a game intentionally to make it any more than a funny glitch, anything that doesnt have an intentional real use in melee also gets called a glitch even if it doesnt take items like mewtwos shadow ball glitch which just crashes the game
To be fair, most of the prominent melee "techniques" arent glitches even by standard definition so I suppose that's why
Why are we still having the "wavedashing is a glitch" conversation in 2024, please move on lol
I mean, a glitch that is hard to pull off but also is practical is a technique. Something can be both.
Merry Christmas Skunch! Thank you for another banger brawl video, this is such a cool present!
I remember Brawl as my first Christmas present, and now it’s ugliest spots are mine 15 years later
Brawl is in the top 3 most influential games of my childhood these videos are always so enjoyable to watch and feel the nostalgia
I'm losing it at the blue falcon glitch
My favorite Christmas movie
That was a great intro! Not many content creators take revenge on a failed gimmick and it put that into perspective for me. Thanks for sharing all these epic glitches!
Dude you’re incredibly entertaining and underrated with your dry humor. Love your content and keep it up!!!
About the counter on Norfair lava: the frame data for the counter allows you to almost always get a powershield if you decide to hold shield instead. I was a fan of alternating between counter and powershielding.
This channel has been my only exposure to brawl ever since I discovered when you only had like, 2 videos. Keep it up, merry Christmas!
just wanted to say i love your energy in these videos and they’re beautifully done! ❤
Man if only the blue falcon had a hitbox, so you could damage other players when you get a golden hammer or warp star.

cool video man, glad you're having fun making these
I had watched tons of glitch videos for Brawl as a kid, but half of these were new to me great finds and collection
Guys, i think brawl might be much more broken than we remember
16:49 wtf is that noise? Is that supposed to be bowser dying?
1:18 the most broken part is that it puts you into freefall for no reason
OH NO BRAWL IS MORE BROKEN THAN I REMEMBER!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS SKUNCH AND YALL!! Hope yall have a blast :>
Merry Christmas Brawlternative!
Tis the season for more Brawl lore! Thank you for each upload and have a great holiday!
13:58 sonic’s vertical height here looks about what it should be if the ramp he went off continued going up at a diagonal
I loved the shorts, I liked the catchphrase, people are wrong!
Yooooooo what a present for us - thank you for helping make this year an AMAZING one for brawl content!!!
Da greatest Christmas gift of all, a Brawlternative video
Love this channel. Honestly.
My favorite part about brawl is how much personality the final smashes had. A lot of them had unique mechanics for the character.
Wario Sun deserves fan art made of it

Brawlternative on Christmas. Huge dub
