Correct! AI is man made, whereas the 1st Amendment is a right recognized as “endowed by our creator”. Giving AI ‘personhood’ would imply man can reach ‘godhood’ and that AI can kill man to self preserve itself under self defense arguments.

I think we need to slow down here. upon releasing things such as this into the wild there are a set of rules and regulations. I've never encountered an AI that advised me to commit suicide or to end my relationship. There are plenty of websites and books that discuss these sorts of topics. Why single out AI? Why should the federal government police it? Some states already criminalize the act of convincing people to commit suicide.

Look, I’m a huge fan of Hawley and he’s one of the top 5% of all legislators, but AI isn’t a boogeyman that needs to be tamped down. Sorry, but no AI chatbot is to be blamed for someone’s suicide.
