    One of the things I have noticed, even in some of the poorer more rural neighborhoods, there are outdoor exercise areas and parks with equipment for families to enjoy. Often you will see kids kicking a soccer ball around or shooting basketball hoops after school. It's more like when I was a kid.

      Yup that is something I love about Mexico. It’s definitely a different world out here. Kids can still be kids. Thanks for sharing!

    This was a God sent video. I was a little worried about this topic. I will have a middle schooler when I move there next year. It would be great for a kid to be a kid instead of going to school like it is a job because parents have to work. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!

    Excellent video jose. I realized later in life on my last trip to my pueblo in Michoacan when I was 10 years old. How free kids are in mexico compared to America and it has to do with the fact that the U.S is a suburban hellscape. You cant do anything without your parents driving you around and cant really walk anywhere. In MX its normal to send your kids to the local tortilleria to get a kilo for dinner

      That's right, you already know It's a different world for sure. I think it's many reasons like this why people will still keep flocking out here to Mexico no matter what the cost of living increase in Mexico is. It's all about Quality of life. Thanks for sharing with us brother. Viva Mexico!

    Playing tag, hide and go seek, marbles, kites, tops, and riding bikes are things you don't see kids doing anymore in the U.S. Heck, movie theaters, malls, and TV are the next to go. The internet is going to be directly connected to our brains, and we'll just sit around all day and only virtually move in a virtual world.

    Love the video! You should put one of those little google maps in the corner so we can see where in Merida you are! Like a video game! :) We're interested in moving to Merida and are seeing super cool things and want to know where lol.

      Thanks for the suggestion! I will try to add that into future videos! I am actually working with Rockstar Games right now on that option but since they are behind with GTA6 who knows when they will get back to me. Hopefully by the time they can help me set it up I can have the funds to pay for it. Either way stay tuned!

    Many people I know bring their children to Mexico. It’s family oriented by far even more than the United States where they don’t believe in family anymore.

    I’ve always admired and noticed kids in Mexico are more “vivos” than kids in the USA. They just seem less sheltered, more alive, wittier, and “busos”. I remember at a young age my Tias would send my little cousins out to buy the tortillas or run errands for the family. It was so normal. Meanwhile, me, raised in the USA was scared to even look up at people when I passed by them to say hi in the street, let alone ask for a kilo of tortillas.

    Being a kid in Mexico seems to be from what I observe, like being a kid in the USA back in the 80's and 90's. The kids ride their bikes around the colonia, play soccer (futbol), and run around.

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  Місяць тому +3

      La mejor parte depende a lo que uno esta buscando. El lugar donde esta la mayoria de los hoteles y cosas turisticas es en el centro

For a couple of days and I like the place I was saying I'm progreso tho. But I like marida better. P.S. I like your videos.

    Being Hispanic I 100% disagree with the family value part. You saw how Latinos voted in this election against their own family members and communities. People I know from other cultures don't do that. Many people who don't know Latin American culture were surprised by that.

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  Місяць тому

      Latinos born and raised, or living in the USA are completely different of those who were born in their native country and those who reside in those said countries. There is a huge disconnect. I can assure you that by being a Latino born and raised in the USA and then traveling to to my native country of Cuba and living in Mexico for over 6 years. Things are very very different outside of the USA. Either way having the freedom of voting for what you think is right or wrong does not go against that family values. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us.

    • @luperamos7307
      @luperamos7307 Місяць тому

      @JoseArteagaTravels I agree that there are huge differences and I think Trump is not even that popular in Mexico itself. Sure, people can vote. But if you vote for an openly racist candidate who splits families and would have US born kids end up in foster homes or detention camps then that says something about you as a voter.

    The problem is that Mexico is extremely dangerous. Some people can affoed to live in good neighborhoods with good private schools. But many people can't.

      @@JoseArteagaTravels Well, I have looked into Mexico many times. But the crime there is a big problem. I think kids will be culturally enriched as well if they grow up there. Elaborate how to avoid the immense safety concerns, bc that is holding people like me back
