    With this one i slowed it down to half speed to see you foot work and it's really advisable to watch it that slow and pick details you wouldn't otherwise. Plus at half speed everybody sounds drunk and it gets hilarious. Give it a try my friend. Bet you haven't seen yourself like that.. lol .

    Easily one of, if not THE best overall boxing channel on UA-cam. I have to admit that I almost bit full force on all the flashy, smoke and mirror technique videos floating around the tube, but everything he speaks on come to fruition, speaking in terms of balance and positioning. Sure, I could evade oncoming attacks, but in doing so I found myself out of position and off balance to launch a counter attack more often than not. I feel blessed that I saw that the art is in the subtlety of movement before it was too late. Thanks Marvin!

      Look bro! I coach boxing and while I dont have any footages of my fights (neither does he) I am in better shape than people I work with and I can apply anything I teach in action. So it's either or! He has neither posted. If no fights posted then let's see sparring footage! I am 45 years old and can do anything I teach on state level. What's his excuse? And fuck this invitational shit like come to my gym I show you! I am in DC and not about to fly over for this! If he is teaching this and in good health that he is let us see this applied under pressure against a trained fighter either in sparring or in a fight. Everything is measured by pressure! Let's get it! PS if you want to see a seriously recognized coach teaching base (he is training Roy for Mike right now) go see Tom Yancello's World class boxing channel and then compare it to this, ok!

    0:44 that's me every time trying to get a good clean body shot beneath my opponent right cross, I do a small step forward to get to the body but I don't get up, I throw from a slightly crouch position and pivot away with the punch.
    I'm going to practice the footwork and stance alone and see how I get use to it, looks great for exiting an exchange or simply backing away into the ropes, luring the opponent to charge in, and slip, pivot and surprise MF you're trapped in the ropes now.

    Question here for anyone who boxes..
    Is it more natural for people to use their strong hand to jab?
    Or use their weak hand?
    Example im right handed, I can throw my strongest punch with my right hand and it feels the most natural to be south paw and use my right hand to jab. Is that proper?
    I don't know much about (or anything) about the fundamentals of boxing

    • @Gdawg0331
      @Gdawg0331 3 роки тому

      I’m a lefty and southpaw. Mainly do Mma though. In my boxing stance my right is my pawing hand and my flick jab. Those are to set up my straight left or a vicious 6. I’m not comfortable in the orthodox boxing but I throw all my kicks from that stance. It’s weird. But it’s effective. It’s about what you feel comfortable with.

    Its interesting but that type of rolling under with the back foot movement first takes away your body punching ability on the way down and as you come up. Also you give up your back that way for anything that is not boxing so I would not teach it to a muay thai or MMA fighter.

    • @zemaxe13
      @zemaxe13 3 роки тому

      I feel like what you are talking about isn't what he is actually doing, at least not to that degree - he isn't giving up his back - if he turned another 20-30 degrees - sure, but the amount he does it - I think it is safe...

  • @JohnnyRad769
    @JohnnyRad769 3 роки тому

    I don't understand. Why sacrifice a power shot by rolling out and throwing an off-balance outside jab after getting that strategic outside position? Tyson would look for these openings specifically, then turn his attack back to the inside with his right hook to body or head. Opponent can't see the shot coming that way once you've reached that deep angle.

    Your theory can easily be disproved if you watch Marvin hagler fight. Weaving to side and up allows you to hook right after the weave, catching them unexpectedly. It keeps the continuity of the movements going. But your theory also keeps the continuity going.
    The only problem I have with you: you disregard other potential movements because your movement is the only movement that is perfect. I respect you and your knowledge. But sometimes you can be close-minded in that aspect, and that will be the downfall for your students. It is important to keep an open-mind. If I followed you mindlessly, I wouldn’t be as effective of a fighter as I could. Your style is not the style that suits all fighters. You gotta understand that. Some fighters have insane reaction speed that allows them to take advantage of undesirable positions, therefore being unpredictable. But if you taught someone with a fast reaction speed to not do this and that because such and such, then you will miss out on the beauty of a unique fighter.
