I made your vanilla cake with Swiss buttercream icing for Fathers Day. I added a strawberry compote as the filling and topped it with fresh strawberries. It was very well received 😊. I need to try this recipe soon!

if you are doing a round cake, bake in cake pans. Like I divided the batter, the springform is for BUILDING not baking

I put my coconut milk in the refrigerator for 24hrs and when I whipped it turned liquid. ☹
I don't know what I did wrong, really. I wluld love to try this mousse!

For the ganache which kind of milk would you recommend? Almond or coconut would be a nice flavor but maybe oat would be a better texture.
I use soy, it is the thickest milk, but oat would work adn I have used almond as well

Hi Gretchen...I browsed like lot of recipes which call for vanilla cake on ua channel...was looking for one which uses oil to give fluffy moist effect even after its ate directly from fridge...this cake is the one which has oil...so if I remove the orange content in this...will it give me plain vanilla cake or it's not a good idea to use this cake recipe for plain cake with oil. In that case will flax work to give desired results? Wanted to know ua suggestions b4 experimenting.
I tried it today, but I guess I have bad luck with mousses ☹️ I followed the recipe and it came out a little runny.

Andrea Sutter what does the word vegan matter? It's the same recipe from a vegan pastry chef on her vegan bakery channel with or without the word. 🤷🏼♂️
I’m not sure how to “win” this topic. As I’ve gotten similar comments in the past for NOT using vegan in the title, as folks have said “ you really should specify that it’s vegan, you will get more people looking for specifically vegan desserts, as well as deter those who are NOT interested in vegan.”
