My undying gratitude for this video. I’m a 69 y/o woman whose husband once completely rebuilt a Willy’s WWII Jeep. I like to know I can do some simple mechanical tasks so I set my sights on this and this video was exactly what I needed. I discovered that not only did my air filter need replacing, but there were all kinds of mahogany leaves that needed to be vacuumed out too. But I can cross this off my list now, and I’ll do it more often going forward. Thank you for such clear, concise directions.
+Kris Jacobsen Thanks for watching! We're glad we could help!
This video was SO helpful! I watched a couple other videos on the same subject, and there’s don’t even compare. You were slow, methodical, and clearly videoed the parts you were taking off, where they came from, what they look like, and how to put them back on. I appreciate also the laborsaving step of just taking off the screws on the left side and letting the glove box dangle instead. Keep up the great work!
I will definitely check out your website next time I need auto parts. Once again, thank you!!
Thank you for the great video. It was so helpful, particularly when you explained about removing the plasmic bar at 1:06 when replacing the cabin air filter for the first time. Believe it or not, I have a 2006 Honda Pilot and never replaced the cabin air filter until today. I was confused when I saw the manufacturer's whole piece in front of the metal bar. I never thought I would have to cut it off. The manufacturer was too "lazy" to remove it from the beginning. Again, thank you.
Best video I seen on filter replacement for honda,I wish I would have seen it 1st
It's so frustrating that it takes so much work to replace something that supposed to be replaced so frequently!
+Brian D. Thank you for your feedback!
And I just discovered this recently when a family member of mine had to do this on his Pilot. I've owned a Civic, Accord and a CR-V and they were all the same easy in, easy out process. Never needed any tools for the job. But why does the Pilot of all things have to be different? Lol
Thank you. Saved many steps over having to take trim off that I have seen on other videos. Perfect.
Greetings from the future! I’m the proud owner of a 2008 Pilot I bought new, still going strong. Cabin air filter had never been changed. Thank you for your fine video, I knew just what was what every step of the way.
1A Auto videos are always on point. I will also add that their videos are clear and concise. No additional commentary that does not add to the task at hand. Some of the other videos just start rambling just to extend their videos. Thank you!
Just saved me $40 by doing it myself!! GREAT video!! Easy to follow!! Thanks 1A Auto Parts!!!!

Great video! Super helpful! I just wish my Pilot wasn’t so much more complicated than my Corolla lol
I just changed my filter on a 2007 Honda Pilot. Very easy! You don't need to remove the phillips screws, and only remove the 8mm on the left side....
Use a side cutter or hacksaw blade and cut through the metal 1 time in the middle, bend the metal back so you can access the filter.
The way they suggest is great too, very good video, but wasn't all necessary in my experience.
Really great video. Took me about an hour and a half, including cutting through that stupid plastic bar. Setting my phone on the floor with the camera turned to selfie helped me locate the screws underneath. Why does Honda make it so difficult to change the cabin air filter?
Excellent tutorial. First time ever changing mine after owning my 2005 pilot for 4 years. This definitely helped a lot. I was a little worried that the previous owner did not change it. But that plastic bar was cut/removed ... so it’s been changed at least one other time in 15 years LOL

Please more 08 honda pilot videos. U have no idea how long I've been waiting & how hard it is to find videos for this car. Yes I own a 08 Honda pilot. Thanks.
Me too! It is harder than I thought it would be to find videos!
I own one too
Very simple, took me 5 minutes. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video. Extremely helpful!
+Debbie Monroe Thank you for the feedback and for watching!
Great tutorial. Thank you.
I used your video to change my 07 pilot cabin filter. I had to snip out that plastic piece (ie had never been changed by previous owners). What a mess of pine needles and dirt in there. No wonder my car smelled like a locker room full of teenage boys who haven’t showered in a year. Awesome video. Full disclosure, I do have teenagers. So there’s that.
Thank you for the video! Quick and easy replacement
I guess you didn't pull on the glovebox wrong and break it off? Not messing with you or the Vid just Honda.
Man that was awesome! Thank y’all!

You are my hero!!!!!!!
Thanks for making this as simple as possible there are other videos telling you to remove trim pieces on the passenger door
Simple? lol
I know which one you’re talking about lol. It’s amazing that it takes this much amount of work to change the filter.
Awesome! Thanks. Made it so simple!
+Charlie McKelvey Thank you!
This frugal teacher thanks you for this video! I was able to do this myself. :)

Really Honda ? Why in the world would it take that much work for a cabin filter ?
Thanks
This was a great video thanks much! Helped me not to pay all that money
My 04 pilot has a plastic piece after you take the metal bar out. Not the same as the video
Do i even need that metal bar there?
Great video. I will warn that in my 2008 Pilot there is a plastic bar across the front as well. One could remove both brackets and he the plastic out and repair it the correct way. Or, do as I did and notch the top of the plastic so it will fold down out of the way. I call it design improvement. The location of this filter is idiotic.
Does that metal bar even ~need~ to be there?? Like can I just take it out…
Excellent video on procedure. However, the music is an irritating distraction.
I agree and something about the guys voice too, the way he ends each sentence with a upnote is annoying.
mebbe show which screws go to which hole. Thanks
+Michael Sanchez Thanks for the feedback!
Anyone else see where someone saws off the plastic frame for the glovebox? That makes it much easier to do this job. Any videos out there on doing the change without cutting the plastic frame out?
+Theron Hunter Thanks for checking us out!
You have to cut the frame out to get a new filter in. It’s non negotiable
Great video, as always by 1A Auto. However, the background "music" loop was annoying and made the speaking hard to understand.
👍
That metal bar will not for the life of me come out
and also why do they put a metal bar there to complicate matters when it would be much easier without it. Makes me wonder about the people that make these things.
👍👍👍

Oh my goodness ..i was gonna do it myself...but nevermind...too many tools and too many steps for something that should be cleaned frequently... BUT i will say Honda Pilots are very dependable SUV.. and the security system is very good
you don't cut those..they're are screws for that...
Thanks for the vid, i just pulled the original filter out and it was completely blocked up and pure black. I could easily tell it was the original because i had to cut that plastic bar away.
+AUSTRA ALBA PRISON Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
This is the most daunting and time consuming a car maker did for changing a cabin filter. Unbelievable.
You did all of that…..just to put back the old moldy filter.
You can order them through Dooxi. They seem to be machined with a degree of care and work quiet well.
Thank you!
its not that bad but lots of work just for the filter and thats why honda likes to do this so the elderly has to bring it into honda to make the big money, rip off but anyways my 2010 crv is very easy to do , very eassyyyyyyyy

i thought this was video about hairy arms
The music is really annoying, like being stuck on hold. It makes me want to scream, “representative!” But seriously, it interferes with what dude is saying.
What a stupid job done by honda,
