I'm 60 hours in on PC, and I am stunned by the amount of work and love that went into this WORLD. It's not a game, per se, it's a freaking WORLD! I am still doing things for the very first time (like new mechanics) after 60 hours! It takes a lot out of you to sit down and actually live and breathe Arthur, so I won't be surprised if many people find it "boring". But they're wrong. It's a game for adults with an attention span. It's immersive as hell, it's slow burning, and certainly not a "quick fix" like an FPS-shooter. You have to take your time, perhaps ten whole minutes, of riding from one site to the next, but the graphics are THE BEST I've ever seen, it is truly incredible the amount of detail the devs have put in. It's almost photorealistic at times. And extremely beautiful. And the voice acting is THE VERY BEST in any game I've played, and I've been playing thousands of games since the 80ies (I'm 42). I hesitate to take "story-missions" to progress in chapters, because I don't want this to end. Yesterday I tried to fish a legendary bass in a mountain lake, but alas I only got three small ones (all different species, with different models and their own compendium info). You can encounter over 200 unique species of animal. It's fucking insane how big this game is. So this game is a very slow burn, but the hours you pour into it, feel like you actually accomplish something for Arthur, it feels meaningful, it feels weighty and deep. For me this is one of those games that changed my entire view on what a video game actually can be, what it can give on an emotional level. I'll have to finish the entire story before I can make this claim, but I think this game might be THE BEST I've ever played. It gives you actual compelling encounters and genuine EXPERIENCES, rather than a quick fix for an hour. There are hundreds of little nuances that elevate this piece of art into something I almost get philosophical about. It demands very much from the player, many hours and a lot of investment. It's inaccessible, like a music album that demands you listen to it five-six times before it sticks. And every genuine, authentic pleasure in life, comes from surmounting the inaccessible.

i agree that rdr2 is a fuckin masterpiece but when when u play god of war u forget everything u will get soo involved it has only 1 or 2 booring missions and the way story progresses its gorgeous
Tried to save a girl who was getting kidnapped. She was hogtied on the kidnappers horse so I decided to take on the chase. It turned out to be a very short chase since my horse crashed with a rock after about 10 steps. The good man that I was decided to not lose hope yet and jumped back upon my horse and the chase was on again. I had made a lot of ground and was closing in on the kidnapper and his victim. I decided to reach for my gun and then shoot the kidnapper. Ended up shooting the woman in the back. She did not die but since she was innocent, me shooting her in the back was concidered a crime and I got the law after me. Still I haden't given up on the woman and again reched for my gun. This time actually shooting the kidnapper. Both of them fell to the ground. She was still alive. I had done it, I saved a innocent woman from a crule faith. So I thought at least. I had to hurry to cut her free since I was now a wanted man. I jumped of my horse and ran to her, trying to quickly cut her free. Accidentally kicked her in the face instead and she died. So I did what any sensible man would've done in that situation. I fled with my tail between my legs. But somewhere deep inside of me I felt accomplshment, for having to tried to save her. And that's what counts.

This game made me so sad... It's heartbreaking. A tale of survival, family, loyalty and relentless brutality. Never in recent memory has a game impacted me so hard on an emotional level. I hate and love this game and it's characters. I don't know what to make of it. This has genuinely been a beautifully epic and harrowing experience for me. It's like... watching Breaking Bad or Braveheart for the first time, being filled with so much emotion. I have to sit on this one, It's gonna take awhile. Anyone playing it for the first time? @@spyfox9796 That is fairly early in the game. You will have to play through a beefy prologue chapter until you get the opportunity to play this mission you speak of. To be honest? I'd say if your playing at a focused pace without much "sightseeing" (Which will be hard not to do mind you) 3 hours? It took me a good 5 hours of raw game play to reach that point but that's because I was dicking around. My advice would be to wait until you get to chapter 2 THEN have your girl watch you play. But if you play through the intro to this point I doubt she will be bored considering the game is like watching a really good movie if your not the one with the controller and your just spectating. I'm sure she wont mind if she likes being around you lol just grab her some drinks and snacks and she should enjoy herself. =)
Man, the game is slow paced, but it builds up and draws you in with incredible character development and great story telling. I was incredibly emotionally invested in Arthur as a character, along with a few of the supporting cast. Personally, its a 10/10 for me.
Justin *spoiler* There's a bit near the end when Dutch and Micah refuse to help you go get Abigail, the look on Arthur's face and his voice when he says 'really?' just about broke me.

I’m here years later because I’m on my third play through of the game and I have to admit, this is my favorite game of all time. I’m currently playing Elden Ring so that gives you an idea of what time I’m writing this, but man nothing beats this game yet in my opinion. I love Arthur and the story makes me cry every time
I watched my boyfriend play through this and I loved it so much I decided to play it myself. The way it looks and feels and sounds is incredible. Being out on your own on a hunt and just listening to all the wildlife and trees and water makes it so unbelievably real. It’s impossible to not be drawn to care for everyone in the story (whether they be bad or good). Would 100% recommend to anyone who’s willing to lose themselves for hours at a time, no side quest is worth passing by.

As a player who hadnt played the first game, It took me a while to get into the story. I thought everyone was crazy saying this game was amazing. But oh my goodness this game really got me with Chapter 3.
I tried to greet a guy, ended up pulling my gun on him accidentaly. He pulled his gun, had to kill him. Someone witnessed it, had to kill him. Another guy witnessed that and so on... I have two Hungarian half-breeds, one named Chrono and the other named Trigger and yes I'm an alcoholic.
The world here is so graphically beautiful, and I'd love playing in it! I love the way the characters look so real! I wish Bethesda's games had their people looking that real. But, I am strictly a role-playing gamer, and there is so much dialog going on with everyone, even your own character, I can't see how I can make up a role-play scenario and tell my own story. Do you think I could take off away from the built in story, and be able to do that? I have watched several let's plays now, and don't feel like that would be possible. Wow, I wish when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out it would be this real looking, but, let me be free to do what I want ! :)

In answer, I played RDR 2 and it feels amazing how you can just forget about the story and go hunting, fishing, play poker, rob people, etc. The way you interact with NPC feels insanely great! You can create your own story by messing around or visiting cities, rob people's houses to upgrade your camp, and so on. You'd definitely be playing this, I highly recommend it to you since it offers a freedom no other game has provided until now.

I just bought this. My god is it gorgeous. Despite coming out two years ago, this looks like it was made today. The facial animations and clothing details are astounding. The environment is obsessively detailed, almost to a fanatical level. I think 2,000 people worked on this and it shows. RDR2 is very close to a 10/10 for me. It's everything Cyberpunk should have been but wasn't. Rockstar may be kind of scummy with its online practices, but damn they make some fine single-player experiences.
It's ok dude. In a decades time I'm pretty sure that RS will create more games to keep us busy until that day comes. In the meantime just enjoy the game and take your time.

yeah that happened to me, i hit someone then he shot me then i killed him then the cops came, i killed the cops then more cops came and after a while i had to pay that i could afford in bounties.
Saved a chick that had a dead horse laying on and crushing her. I saved her, put her on the back of my horse and rode away with her. Along the way I stopped to pick up a plant and collect it. She followed me off the horse and asked why we were stopping. I turned around and pressed the button to get on the horse but my character was facing her and instead choked her out. Luckily I didn’t kill her but needless to say she was spooked and ran off all alone in the middle of the prairie. I followed her to try and defuse the situation but she just kept running. Being the nice guy that I am and knowing that she’s had a bad day and just wanted to go home, I threw my lasso around her and planned to hog tie her then throw her beautiful bitch ass on my saddle and forcefully take her back home. Well, while she’s wiggling around on the ground I ran my horse over to her so I could jump off and tie her up. Uh, well, you see, I didn’t exactly stop my horse in time and trampled the bitch to death. I saved her from a horse only to have her killed by mine. I’m sure she’s in a better place now

After Rockstar put the "Shark card" system into GTA V for the first time in ANY Gta game did not impress me. I did not buy the game. I forsaw some kind of "Desperado" card system for this game or something stupid in multiplayer. I cant support that stuff when I know GTA was never "pay for in game money" until they got greedy in GTA V..will be waiting a few weeks for this one.
I gave the controller to my toddler so that he can explore. He was walking around town crouched down and the NPCs would say "what are you doing?" Literally took the words out of my mouth. It's crazy the level of detail this game has.
Julian Vasquez I know right. The transitions were magnificent, it goes from a guy about to pick a fight with Arthur, to him and the whole bar line dancing, to him pissing outside. It possibly might just be my favorite video game scene ever.
N7 ODST lul we 18+ yrs old can buy this game whenever we feel like it. Some kids are desperately waiting 2 months to get it for Christmas and still their chances of getting RDR2 might be slim, if their parents are that type they won't let their kids play such games lol. Thank god I'm 18 now and not 11. It's a good time to be young adult :))
Didn't really have an idea of the collision physiques on your horse. So in the middle of chasing a bounty I was running through some trees. At full gallop I ran directly into a tree and broke my horses damn neck and sent myself flying off a cliff. Leaving myself and my gf laughing our asses off for a good 10 minutes lol
I just finished the whole game 2 minutes ago and dame this game, this game is top 5 in my books the way the story is driven, the betrayal, the emotions, the graphics overall the game is incredible they took their time and made this masterpiece i also like how RDR2 and RDR is reverse how RDR2 explains how Arthur Morgen become Arthur Morgan
I love that the comments section is full of people's stories in game. Here's mine: I was riding around outside of Valentine when I saw a smoke trail on the horizon. I rode off to check it out, and it turned out to be a small house that was under construction. I walked up and talked to the foreman about how it was coming, and he said it was going pretty slow as it had been raining so frequently, recently. I bid him farewell, then noticed that one of the options on the bottom right of my screen was "Aim Gun" even though it was currently in it's holster. I had never drawn on someone at this point (this was like 1 hour in), so I tapped it just to see what it would do, like auto-aim at him and/or attempt to rob him or who knows what, but apparently I pulled the trigger too hard........ I shot him in the shoulder. He survived, but the camp *_exploded_* into action. Everyone (including the newly wounded construction worker) pulled their guns on me and started shouting, I got a bounty notification ($25), and I freaked out and chose to put up my gun and attempt to "Defuse" the situation. I put my hands up, and the foreman approached me saying how the law was on it's way to arrest me (as we were *_so_* close to Valentine that they no doubt heard the shots), and told me to keep my hands up until then. He got closer.......and closer.....and I fuckin' *_socked him in the face_* and ran off. I got to my horse, bullets whizzing over my shoulder, and rode off into the sunset to escape the police. A few hours of gameplay later, and I found myself around the same area. I rode over to check it out and *_they had actually made progress on the house._* I saw the same foreman, and got ready to run if he was still pissed at me, and he was like "Howdy, pardner! Pleasure seeing you, again.", soooo......... *_10/10, GOTY_*
Favorite NPC interaction is when you meet the guy cleaning his horses’s hoof. You talk to him distracting him then BAM!!!!! His own horse kicks him in the head! 🤣 God, I fell out of my seat laughing. So unexpected. Sooo genius!!
I saw this mexican and he challenged me to a shoot off. I beat him for five dollars. He re-challenged for ten and i lost. Needless to say i shot him and got 11 dollars and change. Now thats a victory royale 😎

I ran across a blind man near valentine in the woods asking for a dollar for donation. I dontated the dollar and in return he gave me advice. He proceeded to tell me about his family and his wife and it was extremely annoying so I robbed him for my dollar back and I wasn’t going to shoot him as he was blind. I’m not 100% a master of the controls and I tackled the man and blew his face if with a double barrel and I wonder why I have a 300$ bounty in new Hanover
Get a physical disk. I don't have Wi-Fi so I bought the disk and the installation only took about 1:30 mins to 2 hours. Not too bad. I can't speak for downloading it online. But the game works just as well without internet.
Here’s my story: so I was riding down a trail on the special OP horse I got for getting the bonus edition. I came across a man who looked like he needed some assistance and he jumped on my horse and rode away. Now this was early in the game so I had no clue what was going on, however I quickly realized that he was stealing my horse. At this point he was pretty far away. So I tried my best and I whipped out my Repeater and fired at least 15 shots at the man. Little did I know, I had shot my awesome Op bonus horse 15 times. My horse collapsed and the man got up and ran into the woods to never be seen again. P.S. It took about 20 minutes just for another horse to spawn on the trail that I could steal which ended up getting my bounty to the point where Bounty Hunters would come after me. I quickly rode back to the stables to buy a new horse that wasn’t stolen (I bought the best horse at the stables which was $450) and rode away only to be chased by bounty hunters who then killed my new horse. I then paid off my $150 bounty, bought ANOTHER horse, and I also decided to stash up on horse reviver (which I didn’t know existed until then). In conclusion, that one prick costed me over $1,000 in in game money, and wasted about a half hour of my time. FML

I think it's funny how much people complain about running into stuff, crashing their horse into stuff, moving around a chest too quickly and not being able to trigger the interaction option, etc. It goes to show how fast our brains are constantly moving in modern videogames. We want to speed through everything constantly. I'm guilty at times too, don't get me wrong. Though I find that when I slow myself down instead of doing everything in a big hurry, the game mechanics work perfectly fine. I think Rockstar is really challenging gamers to forget what they have gotten used to as far as blazing through an action game, and are forcing people to slow down and take everything in. If you're struggling with anything like that, seriously just try to slow Arthur down a bit. On horse, or on foot. I think it eliminates a lot of that "clunky" feel, and honestly makes you better at the game.

I recently started playing rdr2 and it really feels like you became a part of the world in this game, Arthur is one of my favorite video game protagonist.

I found it obnoxious. The whole having to use the right ammo type, follow the foot steps that are barely visible even when highlighted, checking your sent. BLEH. I get they where going for realism but this is a game after all.
Its a long time later, completed this game so many times. The counter on my ps5 says i have 711 hours into this gem of a game. And still i want to play it again right now seeing this video alone. Man this game is just a masterpiece, and the story and gameplay is so compelling it makes me forget about all other games in my library.
This is the best 2nd playthrough experience I've ever had. Bought it on launch day, blew through the story because I was afraid of spoilers, so never fully appreciated the depth and beauty of it. Now going through it again I remember only the main story beats, and there's so much side stuff I didn't see last time. Shortly after I started this second playthrough I levelled my bow at a prairie dog and just before it let fly a hawk came down and scooped my prey, my jaw dropped! I've been in Chapter 2 for about 60 hours just riding, hunting, robbing, helping, dueling, rescuing and just looking around. God damn this game is beautiful, I can't imagine what it'd be like on a good PC (I'm on PS4) If anyone out there is in the same boat and hasn't played since launch or didn't do more side stuff the first time then do yourself a favour and carve out a good chunk of time and dive back in, you won't regret it.
I bought the game when it came out on PC because I don't own a console. I went straight to Multiplayer because I was playing with friend. Let the game aside for almost 6 months and came back to it story (thanks covid). I've spend almost 80 hours on chapter 2 before going to chapter 3. Did everything and more of what you describe. This game is gorgeous, thanks to my good PC everything is awesome. I was like the guys from Viva La Dirt League and was like "awwww" and "wowwww" all the time. Best game I have ever played. I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't played it yet.
The whole camp element adds a bit of incentive to each mission that might otherwise be a filler. For instance hunting missions don't just give you crafting materials that you might only use once for a particular item or upgrade. They put more incentive behind hunting missions to benefit your camp and not just the player. If the player doesn't need it his camp may need it and in turn a well kept camp will benefit the player greatly.
I've memorized this game. I've played it through and through 6 times. Including getting everything at the trapper, completing all those side quests/explore quests. Still addicted and half way through my 7th time playing it. Any questions, I HAVE the answer. 🤪

What made me fall in love with the game ( *No Spoilers* ) I was in Valentine and was heading back to camp when all of a sudden 2 guys ran out of the trees and aimed their weapons at me. They were part of a rival gang of Dutch's Boys. They said they knew who I was but didn't want to kill me, just rob me. I could defuse, antagonize or threaten but I chose to shoot the 2 men dead. Someone far away from me saw and was running to tell the law. I decided to also run away and in the brief moment when I turned around I hit a tree branch and fell off my horse. Every thing you do in free roam feels like it is scripted but it's not. It's just how great of an immersive, open world Red Dead Redemption 2 is.
I lied to myself the first 10 hours or so telling myself to love it. I realised its a telltale game on monkey difficulty with no challenge whatsoever. Most of the time youre riding your horse and the rest of the fun elements get ruined by the unnecessary RPG aspects and the tedious controls. The story isnt great either. Characters are mostly clichee and I found a lot of unrealistic stuff that ruined the experience for me. People in the 1800s didnt have beards because of lice and wouldnt casually cuss around in public. Not even in the wild west... Im literally shocked at how bad this game really is. Its nothing more than an Assassins Creed in a western disguise. Extremely overrated in my opinion.
I was in the swamplands and this lady was crying, so I help her. Then out of nowhere there tribal looking people with knives and machetes jumped out of the bushes. I put up a good fight, but ended up getting gutted like a fish 😭
Ah yes, Red Dead Redemption 2, the game we’ve waited 16 years for. 8 for it to be released and another 8 for it to download on my pc. Edit: gonna be honest, didn’t know it wasn’t on pc. Just saw how many gigabytes it is and thought I’d crack a joke :)

Got it for Christmas out of town, and am hyping myself up for it
I'm 60 hours in on PC, and I am stunned by the amount of work and love that went into this WORLD. It's not a game, per se, it's a freaking WORLD! I am still doing things for the very first time (like new mechanics) after 60 hours! It takes a lot out of you to sit down and actually live and breathe Arthur, so I won't be surprised if many people find it "boring". But they're wrong. It's a game for adults with an attention span. It's immersive as hell, it's slow burning, and certainly not a "quick fix" like an FPS-shooter. You have to take your time, perhaps ten whole minutes, of riding from one site to the next, but the graphics are THE BEST I've ever seen, it is truly incredible the amount of detail the devs have put in. It's almost photorealistic at times. And extremely beautiful. And the voice acting is THE VERY BEST in any game I've played, and I've been playing thousands of games since the 80ies (I'm 42). I hesitate to take "story-missions" to progress in chapters, because I don't want this to end. Yesterday I tried to fish a legendary bass in a mountain lake, but alas I only got three small ones (all different species, with different models and their own compendium info). You can encounter over 200 unique species of animal. It's fucking insane how big this game is.
So this game is a very slow burn, but the hours you pour into it, feel like you actually accomplish something for Arthur, it feels meaningful, it feels weighty and deep. For me this is one of those games that changed my entire view on what a video game actually can be, what it can give on an emotional level. I'll have to finish the entire story before I can make this claim, but I think this game might be THE BEST I've ever played. It gives you actual compelling encounters and genuine EXPERIENCES, rather than a quick fix for an hour. There are hundreds of little nuances that elevate this piece of art into something I almost get philosophical about. It demands very much from the player, many hours and a lot of investment. It's inaccessible, like a music album that demands you listen to it five-six times before it sticks. And every genuine, authentic pleasure in life, comes from surmounting the inaccessible.
Absolutely agreed. I play games since 90s and this game is really something else. After hard working day just came home got on my horse riding, camping, fishing, hunting.

Tried to save a girl who was getting kidnapped. She was hogtied on the kidnappers horse so I decided to take on the chase. It turned out to be a very short chase since my horse crashed with a rock after about 10 steps. The good man that I was decided to not lose hope yet and jumped back upon my horse and the chase was on again. I had made a lot of ground and was closing in on the kidnapper and his victim. I decided to reach for my gun and then shoot the kidnapper. Ended up shooting the woman in the back. She did not die but since she was innocent, me shooting her in the back was concidered a crime and I got the law after me. Still I haden't given up on the woman and again reched for my gun. This time actually shooting the kidnapper. Both of them fell to the ground. She was still alive. I had done it, I saved a innocent woman from a crule faith. So I thought at least. I had to hurry to cut her free since I was now a wanted man. I jumped of my horse and ran to her, trying to quickly cut her free. Accidentally kicked her in the face instead and she died. So I did what any sensible man would've done in that situation. I fled with my tail between my legs. But somewhere deep inside of me I felt accomplshment, for having to tried to save her. And that's what counts.

This game made me so sad... It's heartbreaking. A tale of survival, family, loyalty and relentless brutality. Never in recent memory has a game impacted me so hard on an emotional level. I hate and love this game and it's characters. I don't know what to make of it. This has genuinely been a beautifully epic and harrowing experience for me. It's like... watching Breaking Bad or Braveheart for the first time, being filled with so much emotion. I have to sit on this one, It's gonna take awhile. Anyone playing it for the first time? @@spyfox9796 That is fairly early in the game. You will have to play through a beefy prologue chapter until you get the opportunity to play this mission you speak of. To be honest? I'd say if your playing at a focused pace without much "sightseeing" (Which will be hard not to do mind you) 3 hours?
It took me a good 5 hours of raw game play to reach that point but that's because I was dicking around. My advice would be to wait until you get to chapter 2 THEN have your girl watch you play.
But if you play through the intro to this point I doubt she will be bored considering the game is like watching a really good movie if your not the one with the controller and your just spectating. I'm sure she wont mind if she likes being around you lol just grab her some drinks and snacks and she should enjoy herself. =)
Man, the game is slow paced, but it builds up and draws you in with incredible character development and great story telling.
I was incredibly emotionally invested in Arthur as a character, along with a few of the supporting cast. Personally, its a 10/10 for me.

I’m here years later because I’m on my third play through of the game and I have to admit, this is my favorite game of all time. I’m currently playing Elden Ring so that gives you an idea of what time I’m writing this, but man nothing beats this game yet in my opinion. I love Arthur and the story makes me cry every time

I watched my boyfriend play through this and I loved it so much I decided to play it myself. The way it looks and feels and sounds is incredible. Being out on your own on a hunt and just listening to all the wildlife and trees and water makes it so unbelievably real. It’s impossible to not be drawn to care for everyone in the story (whether they be bad or good). Would 100% recommend to anyone who’s willing to lose themselves for hours at a time, no side quest is worth passing by.

As a player who hadnt played the first game, It took me a while to get into the story. I thought everyone was crazy saying this game was amazing. But oh my goodness this game really got me with Chapter 3.
I tried to greet a guy, ended up pulling my gun on him accidentaly. He pulled his gun, had to kill him. Someone witnessed it, had to kill him. Another guy witnessed that and so on... I have two Hungarian half-breeds, one named Chrono and the other named Trigger and yes I'm an alcoholic.
I can't even say how many times I tried to interact with an NPC and accidentally draw on them. Lol

The world here is so graphically beautiful, and I'd love playing in it! I love the way the characters look so real! I wish Bethesda's games had their people looking that real. But, I am strictly a role-playing gamer, and there is so much dialog going on with everyone, even your own character, I can't see how I can make up a role-play scenario and tell my own story. Do you think I could take off away from the built in story, and be able to do that? I have watched several let's plays now, and don't feel like that would be possible. Wow, I wish when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out it would be this real looking, but, let me be free to do what I want ! :)

In answer, I played RDR 2 and it feels amazing how you can just forget about the story and go hunting, fishing, play poker, rob people, etc. The way you interact with NPC feels insanely great! You can create your own story by messing around or visiting cities, rob people's houses to upgrade your camp, and so on. You'd definitely be playing this, I highly recommend it to you since it offers a freedom no other game has provided until now.

As soon as I got in the game after the introduction I walked away from the main quest and spent 3 hours hunting deer.
And once you got it, you were like "looks like we eating well tonight"
I just bought this. My god is it gorgeous. Despite coming out two years ago, this looks like it was made today. The facial animations and clothing details are astounding. The environment is obsessively detailed, almost to a fanatical level. I think 2,000 people worked on this and it shows. RDR2 is very close to a 10/10 for me. It's everything Cyberpunk should have been but wasn't. Rockstar may be kind of scummy with its online practices, but damn they make some fine single-player experiences.

Saved a chick that had a dead horse laying on and crushing her. I saved her, put her on the back of my horse and rode away with her. Along the way I stopped to pick up a plant and collect it. She followed me off the horse and asked why we were stopping. I turned around and pressed the button to get on the horse but my character was facing her and instead choked her out. Luckily I didn’t kill her but needless to say she was spooked and ran off all alone in the middle of the prairie. I followed her to try and defuse the situation but she just kept running. Being the nice guy that I am and knowing that she’s had a bad day and just wanted to go home, I threw my lasso around her and planned to hog tie her then throw her beautiful bitch ass on my saddle and forcefully take her back home. Well, while she’s wiggling around on the ground I ran my horse over to her so I could jump off and tie her up. Uh, well, you see, I didn’t exactly stop my horse in time and trampled the bitch to death. I saved her from a horse only to have her killed by mine. I’m sure she’s in a better place now

So in the middle of chasing a bounty I was running through some trees. At full gallop I ran directly into a tree and broke my horses damn neck and sent myself flying off a cliff. Leaving myself and my gf laughing our asses off for a good 10 minutes lol

I was riding around outside of Valentine when I saw a smoke trail on the horizon. I rode off to check it out, and it turned out to be a small house that was under construction. I walked up and talked to the foreman about how it was coming, and he said it was going pretty slow as it had been raining so frequently, recently. I bid him farewell, then noticed that one of the options on the bottom right of my screen was "Aim Gun" even though it was currently in it's holster. I had never drawn on someone at this point (this was like 1 hour in), so I tapped it just to see what it would do, like auto-aim at him and/or attempt to rob him or who knows what, but apparently I pulled the trigger too hard........
I shot him in the shoulder. He survived, but the camp *_exploded_* into action. Everyone (including the newly wounded construction worker) pulled their guns on me and started shouting, I got a bounty notification ($25), and I freaked out and chose to put up my gun and attempt to "Defuse" the situation. I put my hands up, and the foreman approached me saying how the law was on it's way to arrest me (as we were *_so_* close to Valentine that they no doubt heard the shots), and told me to keep my hands up until then. He got closer.......and closer.....and I fuckin' *_socked him in the face_* and ran off. I got to my horse, bullets whizzing over my shoulder, and rode off into the sunset to escape the police.
A few hours of gameplay later, and I found myself around the same area. I rode over to check it out and *_they had actually made progress on the house._* I saw the same foreman, and got ready to run if he was still pissed at me, and he was like "Howdy, pardner! Pleasure seeing you, again.", soooo.........

I ran across a blind man near valentine in the woods asking for a dollar for donation. I dontated the dollar and in return he gave me advice. He proceeded to tell me about his family and his wife and it was extremely annoying so I robbed him for my dollar back and I wasn’t going to shoot him as he was blind. Get a physical disk. I don't have Wi-Fi so I bought the disk and the installation only took about 1:30 mins to 2 hours. Not too bad. I can't speak for downloading it online. But the game works just as well without internet.

Here’s my story: so I was riding down a trail on the special OP horse I got for getting the bonus edition. I came across a man who looked like he needed some assistance and he jumped on my horse and rode away. Now this was early in the game so I had no clue what was going on, however I quickly realized that he was stealing my horse. At this point he was pretty far away. So I tried my best and I whipped out my Repeater and fired at least 15 shots at the man. Little did I know, I had shot my awesome Op bonus horse 15 times. My horse collapsed and the man got up and ran into the woods to never be seen again.
P.S. It took about 20 minutes just for another horse to spawn on the trail that I could steal which ended up getting my bounty to the point where Bounty Hunters would come after me. I quickly rode back to the stables to buy a new horse that wasn’t stolen (I bought the best horse at the stables which was $450) and rode away only to be chased by bounty hunters who then killed my new horse. I then paid off my $150 bounty, bought ANOTHER horse, and I also decided to stash up on horse reviver (which I didn’t know existed until then). In conclusion, that one prick costed me over $1,000 in in game money, and wasted about a half hour of my time. FML
king chris at that point I would have just restarted the game. The bonus horse is so damn good. Rode that good girl until the end.

I think it's funny how much people complain about running into stuff, crashing their horse into stuff, moving around a chest too quickly and not being able to trigger the interaction option, etc.
It goes to show how fast our brains are constantly moving in modern videogames. We want to speed through everything constantly. I'm guilty at times too, don't get me wrong.
Though I find that when I slow myself down instead of doing everything in a big hurry, the game mechanics work perfectly fine. I think Rockstar is really challenging gamers to forget what they have gotten used to as far as blazing through an action game, and are forcing people to slow down and take everything in.
If you're struggling with anything like that, seriously just try to slow Arthur down a bit. On horse, or on foot. I think it eliminates a lot of that "clunky" feel, and honestly makes you better at the game.

I was surprised by the hunting as well. It felt better than most hunting games in the last 10 years.
I found it obnoxious. The whole having to use the right ammo type, follow the foot steps that are barely visible even when highlighted, checking your sent. BLEH. I get they where going for realism but this is a game after all.

Its a long time later, completed this game so many times. The counter on my ps5 says i have 711 hours into this gem of a game. And still i want to play it again right now seeing this video alone. Man this game is just a masterpiece, and the story and gameplay is so compelling it makes me forget about all other games in my library.

This is the best 2nd playthrough experience I've ever had. Bought it on launch day, blew through the story because I was afraid of spoilers, so never fully appreciated the depth and beauty of it. Now going through it again I remember only the main story beats, and there's so much side stuff I didn't see last time. Shortly after I started this second playthrough I levelled my bow at a prairie dog and just before it let fly a hawk came down and scooped my prey, my jaw dropped! I've been in Chapter 2 for about 60 hours just riding, hunting, robbing, helping, dueling, rescuing and just looking around. God damn this game is beautiful, I can't imagine what it'd be like on a good PC (I'm on PS4)
If anyone out there is in the same boat and hasn't played since launch or didn't do more side stuff the first time then do yourself a favour and carve out a good chunk of time and dive back in, you won't regret it.
I bought the game when it came out on PC because I don't own a console. I went straight to Multiplayer because I was playing with friend. Let the game aside for almost 6 months and came back to it story (thanks covid). I've spend almost 80 hours on chapter 2 before going to chapter 3. Did everything and more of what you describe. This game is gorgeous, thanks to my good PC everything is awesome. I was like the guys from Viva La Dirt League and was like "awwww" and "wowwww" all the time.
Best game I have ever played. I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't played it yet.
The whole camp element adds a bit of incentive to each mission that might otherwise be a filler. For instance hunting missions don't just give you crafting materials that you might only use once for a particular item or upgrade. They put more incentive behind hunting missions to benefit your camp and not just the player. If the player doesn't need it his camp may need it and in turn a well kept camp will benefit the player greatly.
Try shaving Arthur’s head and giving him a certain facial hair to make him look like Heisenberg it really is uncanny

What made me fall in love with the game ( *No Spoilers* )
I was in Valentine and was heading back to camp when all of a sudden 2 guys ran out of the trees and aimed their weapons at me. They were part of a rival gang of Dutch's Boys. They said they knew who I was but didn't want to kill me, just rob me. I could defuse, antagonize or threaten but I chose to shoot the 2 men dead. Someone far away from me saw and was running to tell the law. I decided to also run away and in the brief moment when I turned around I hit a tree branch and fell off my horse. Every thing you do in free roam feels like it is scripted but it's not. It's just how great of an immersive, open world Red Dead Redemption 2 is.

I lied to myself the first 10 hours or so telling myself to love it. I realised its a telltale game on monkey difficulty with no challenge whatsoever. Most of the time youre riding your horse and the rest of the fun elements get ruined by the unnecessary RPG aspects and the tedious controls. The story isnt great either. Characters are mostly clichee and I found a lot of unrealistic stuff that ruined the experience for me. People in the 1800s didnt have beards because of lice and wouldnt casually cuss around in public. Not even in the wild west...
Im literally shocked at how bad this game really is. Its nothing more than an Assassins Creed in a western disguise. Extremely overrated in my opinion.
