Literally the first couple hours into this beast of game I ended up getting my horse stuck on a ledge of a cliff, and couldn’t figure out how the hell to get the bastard down. every time I mounted the horse it would just freak out and jump on its two feet . I got frustrated and made my way down the cliff only to make the death defying whistle that led old Betsy to her death . I Literally watched in horror as my horse tumbled and fell to its death finally hitting rock bottom . I ran up to my horses whimpers realizing I had nothing to save it with the poor thing was just screaming in pain so I made the descion to take her out of her misery shooting the only kind face I grew accustomed to brushing. Gathered my belongings and took a shot of whisky for the blood bath I just witnessed, walked off into the sunset . Only in RDR2 😢😂

Vaibhave Kul I've jumped my horse off three different cliffs and she ragdolled all around like crazy and then started screaming for like half a minute, but then I just calmed her down and she was fine.

Big tip here... u wanna make your horse faster?, go to the stables and upgrade the stirrups( the shoe holders) the ones at the bottom will increase speed and acceleration

This game is freakin masterpiece. Its much to do. Never boring. I am having my best time. Can't stop playing. Story is so good.
Too bad I SUCK at the combat... I just can't make the character do what I want using a controller. I died like 5 times on the 2nd combat engagement (the one where you are given a choice to lead.) Finally the game just let me skip it, which I did... I couldn't move from one hiding spot to another without getting shot once and dying, even if it was only 10 feet away. Total let down and bummer for me.
The story is more complex than the first game and the minor characters are better, Only John is a little better than Arthur

Always give money to the homeless you get food tips, and help out people in the wild one guy was caught in a bear trap by where I started then 2 hours into the game at a gun shop he told me I saved his life and buy any gun I want and put it on his tab lol

My first horse was with me for the first 15 hours and then it got run over by a train when i was about to hogtie a guy with a bounty lol

One tip I have is that while you're in base camp there are sometimes black dots on your mini-map that are chores you can do. Doing these increases people's likeness of you.
Examples such as filling up a bucket with water, moving bags, giving hay to the horses, etc.
After I adjusted these, the FPS mode has become my favorite way to play Red Dead 2. Let me explain... the way the settings are now are clunky and jarring. You need to set the control scheme to FPS and go into the camera and turn the Auto Leveling off. This allows you to control the character the same way you would in a Battlefield game. There is no more clunkiness and it brings up the enemies close to where you can see the gruesome effects of your shots. It also allows you to see what you're aiming at because the 3rd Person mode has the camera so far back that it's hard to see your target. Plus, while you're aiming in FPS mode, mash down on your D Pad and you will aim DIRECTLY DOWN YOUR SIGHTS. This is BY FAR the most fun way to play and shoot in Red Dead. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT to see what I'm talking about. You can purchase different and unique gun sights at the Gunsmith and aiming down your sights is the only way to enjoy your new sight. Plus, it's realistic and much more fun! (I have it set up where it switches to 3rd person mode when I get on my horse because this is the where that mode fits and works best. When I get off my horse, it automatically switches back to First Person)
But you don’t get to see your badass cowboy in combat, nor does the dead eye animation look as awesome as it does in third person...also, you wont be able to do a badass spin of the gun into its holster.
Meh not rlly, if i want to play fps there's millions of choice and rdr2 fps aint that.

Everyone always mentions fast travel but there’s so much to do and find in the world that you would just miss if you fast travel
I really like the random encounters in this game.
I met this guy screaming that he was bitten. I approached him and gave him some medicine and saved him. Later when I was in Valentine he called me "Hey stranger is that you?" He said in order to show his gratitude for saving his life I can pick up one gun from the gunsmith on his account. I went in the gunsmith and picked up the Springfield Rifle, came out and said "thank you" to him The weather is sunny, everything is in harmony, there are still good people in this world.
Then I loaded the Springfield rifle and shot him in the face.

Few days later he’s pal spotted me in town and said “isn’t that the guy you talked about,the one that saved your life?” ,that was him,the poor bastard bitten by a snake,he looked at me and left...why I must always deal with assholes.

I ran into a KKK meeting where two guys ended up burning to death. I got into a conversation with the leader, dressed in black robes, which ended with me beating the shit out of him. Later on, I ran into the same KKK leader trying to get two other members to set up a giant cross, which ended up crushing them. Got into another conversation that ended in an ass whooping. I look forward to out third meeting.
I released a guy from a bear trap and then I proceeded to steal his horse.

A big plus about this game is lester does not call you. I wonder if you wanted to text a player in the game if you have to go to the post office and the player will get a notification about a letter... hmmmmm

after missing out on the initial release hype i'm here in 2022 experiencing my first play through & man i'm impressed! i played the first 2 games but wasn't impressed too much with the games as they felt lonely but this game feels like i've got a crew of people who i genuinely care about! i'm only 5 hours in and i'm already enjoying this more than the other red dead games! can't wait to get further into these amazing systems !
I’ve been really going at a slower pace. I love playing all the mini games like poker, dominos and setting up camp fires while hunting. I’ve never played a game where slow felt so right. I make sure to complete main story while exploring as to progress. But you can tell that in order to enjoy this game you have to respect and love every little detail Rockstar poured into it. It’s definitely not a pick up and play game.
So while I was trotting on my horse in Red Dead, a guy jumps out of the bushes wearing a prison outfit asking me to shoot the shackles on his feet so he can get away. The game just says help the prisoner. I asked him why he was locked up and he was being rude. So I was like alright, bet. I lassoed him up and the game said nothing about what to do with him. So I took him to the sherrifs office and they turned it into a quest. Even though there was no indication what I was able to do with that small random encounter, I'm glad they were able to account for all the things I could do. Definitely my game of the year.
Long story short, you can make anything happen even if the game does not tell you it is possible. I got 25$ and some good honor when I brought back the prisoner.
Demikkusu Dechida that’s actually cool story! I wouldn’t even think of that,shows really how most games are just “go there do that have some exp”. Divinty OS2 gives you a lot of freedom in doing things as well so I strongly recommend!

Lol with the Prisoner encounter, you really can't lose. Shoot the shackles, you get good honor. Turn him in, you also get good honor lol.
If you shoot the shackles you get a location of a house with a money stash you can rob
If you want perfect deer pelts use the lasso on em and get up close until it says you can kill em

If the normal bandanna doesn’t work then get on your horse then press LB (Xbox)
And the top left on PS4 then use the right bumper to go down to the horse section and equip the big bandanna
( it covers your whole face )

It has far worse input lag than other 30fps titles on consoles so that's pretty nasty. Play a game like Destiny or God of War for an hour on PS4 then play RDR2 and you will recognize it isn't just PC players being spoiled.

Just thought I should say this BUT
While riding I found a guy who had venom in his leg. I decided to help out and suck it out. The next day (irl) I was in valentine walking to a mission and some random guy called me over and it turned out to be the guy I saved. He then said he would pay for a gun of my choosing!
I had that too! It really pays to help people out!!

I had this happen to me, and then it happened to me in one of the other towns you go to later in the game. The second time around, it was some black dude who let me put something on his tab at the general store rather than the gun store. I've since ran into out on the road 2 more times, because he keeps going out and getting bitten lmao
Haha this happened to me but as soon as the guy was abt to offer to buy my weapon, some random picked a fight with me and the other stranger ran away never to be seen again, I thought it was just part of it lol

The amount of detail put Into this game Is staggering. I was a little worried about the whole health management mechanics, but now It really helps with the immersion.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem , but you don't have time to loot bodies because the police come so fast . You have to get out of there

I feel ya, if you want easy loot hit bandit camps. If u look in the sky u will sometimes see smoke, and most of the time it’ll be a bandit camp

I know it's an old video and a lot of ppl probably know this but I found that using your lasso while on horseback while hunting is the easiest and quickest way.

Once you're in Valentine town, get a train ticket to St. Dennis. There you'll find a "Fence" to sell your Jewelries. Make sure you buy the LockBreaker from him to open Safes and chest.
Also a "Trapper" is there for turning in Legendary animals. There is also one by the Legendary Bear area. I think near the cabin by the lake.
Also don't Donate money to Camp Fund. Just Donate items and jewelry. They automatically Fence it for you and gives you cash for it.
Anybody buy the DLC your Free Guns is at the Valentine Town gun Store. It's in the catalog. Go through it and click on it. Free.
Also you can get the 2nd best handgun at the Doctor's office. Go to the back and peep in the window. Make sure to save the game. Call your horse. Go back to the front door. Put mask on before going in. Stick him up and tell him go to the back door. There will be 4 people there waiting. Use Dead eye headshot or use a pump action shotgun to kill everybody. The gun is on the table. Optional to take money. Run back through front door and don't kill anybody else. And just run away until the "Wanted" is gone. Go back to the train station. Pay bounty off and you're Clean. My bounty was only $1.50.
I have put in over 30 hours and I have not ran into anything that repeats itself. All the npc interactions are fresh everytime. When I go back to camp there is always different conversations and things going on.....I have never seen this in a game before....brilliant.
If you are holding one revolver, then by pressing R1 three times you will holster it in a cool way
I’m irked by getting getting caught “kidnapping” when I hogtie a horse thief I planned to turn into the sheriffs
I caught a murderer and brought him to the sherriff only for me to randomly get paid his bounty money! I guess it depends on the crime???
now that I think on it... it makes sense as you wouldn't send bounty hunters after a horse thief...
I use a mod menu now after playing through legit one time, and I love the fact that the I have the option to disable core drain. Sure it gives you a reason to eat and go back to camp, but at the same time, blasting through story missions and exploring the entire map in less than 30 minutes was really fun lol

You guys should do a video on the crafting system. Specifically for pelts. A lot of us (from what I see on threads) are having a hard time figuring out how the trapper works. Like how you have to sell your pelts to the trapper to store them for later use.

I love how the game greatly discourages you from looting for the first 2 chapters. You'll have Dutch or whoever else IMMEDIATELY start to yell at you if you actually stop anything to try and loot the 30 O' Driscolls you just massacred. "ARTHUR! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! HURRY UP!!!!" And then all the other gang members looting the corpses YOU KILLED before you can get to them.
Those housekeeping tips are uber useful. I have been slightly peeved at time wasted opening the map and closing out of menus (especially after reading up on new animals I killed).

I was grinding RDR2 then I went to work the next day and felt like everyone around me was just an NPC because the NPCs are so realistic.

You can craft expanding bullets (called split-point or something in-game) from your normal ammo not only at campfires, but on foot or on horseback by accessing your crafting tools in your inventory, or your item wheel. Choose the ammo you wanna craft, and hold A button/Cross button to keep carving open the tips of your bullets to make moderately more powerful ammo at the cost of a bit of your time.

Try punching someone and then when the cops show up just surrender and you will go to jail for like 20 seconds then you will be clear of bounty

They're a UA-cam gaming channel, UA-cam game channels get review copies early because they have to rush the game to get a review out when it releases. Getting the game early isn't good for them all the time. They have to rush into the game to be ready for release. Rushing your gameplay experience kinda sucks.. i love taking my time playing games, reviewers don't get that time luxury sometimes..

Btw, If you want realsim, turn your radar off, turn your reticle off (there are options to have a circle with a dot, just a dot, a big dot aka default, or no dot), and put your feild of view (fov) (1st person) all the way full or to the right so that way its not zoomed in and you can see more.. My game isnt on but thats what i remember. (I like to be realstic, ok)

i’m playing the game enjoying it one mission at a time , so glad that i decided to buy it when i did , it could very easier win the game of the year if it continues to stay updated weekly, yes it’s time consuming especially without the fast travel feature unlocked . a must buy if you like the WildWest in cold and hot temperatures of the game, etc

1 tip I need is how do you do that dead eye duel thing because I prefer the rdr 1 style of quick draw because I can't shoot right in gta 5. I have to press in on the r2 button sooo hard it just is awful
My right trigger was broken and I had the same problem. You need to switch the controls to alternate in the settings.

As far as hunting, Lasso works amazing, usually good or perfect pelts, no need for the whole prep thing... works with the Elk, Deer and stuff, not so much the smaller animals but yeah.

A Flippin awesome game. Another tip if you don't want to waste ammo on any of the big game catch you can use your lasso to catch them and then do the finishing blow.
One thing I learned: those symbols in the top corner at the camp doesnt show how well off the camp is, but how much of each you have at the time. If you fully upgrade each area and restock it they can still be red, but if you restock your personal stash they turn white again.
MAJOR ISSUE. For many who bought the Special or Ultimate edition of the game!!! I’ve seen multiple people ask this question to no one really having an answer for it.
So I have an Xbox one, I purchased the ultimate addition of the game (disc steel book one) I have done the hunting mission with Hosa Matthews already. My war horse preorder unlocked but none of my Ultimate Edition bonus content has been unlocked at all. The outfit, the horse, the free guns, none of it works! I’ve seen multiple people have this issue also. Has ANYONE had any idea how or way to fix this!?! It’s the literally The reason so many people paid for these ultimate in special additions and the content we paid for isn’t even working!!!! Note : I have tired uninstalling and reinstalling the ad on pack on my Xbox twice already

Not true my friend. Please go look it up. The Ultimate edition includes a horse, three free guns, a outfit, a extra bank robbery and gang hideout and more for the Story mode and ALSO has more online content for when that drops.
Email rockstar if it will help you feel better (might get free stuff for the inconvenience) otherwise you’ll just have to wait until they unfuck themselves with an early patch...
Have you checked your camp? Outfit should be in camp, you have to change it by dresser, and for guns you have to go to gun store(they are free) to get them. You have to do the mission/actually look for the items(like you did the horse), you just dont get them in the menu right off the bat, they make you work a little for them.
That Car Guy dude I’m in Chapter three I know how the game works. I’ve gone to every stable I can find my horse ain’t there, every gunsmith I can find (you’d think it would all be available in the Valentine shops in Chapter 2 but I thought maybe it was even later) No outfit or talisman in Arthur’s Chest. It’s just literally that all my bonus content for buying the $100 ultimate edition doesn’t work. And yes before you ask I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the content on my Xbox many times trying to see if that will trigger it to work properly to no avail.
