When you‘re going to upload a new episode of the HX? Used to have a 95 HX in the family and loved it. Would be a polar opposite to my GTX 300 without going full stand up jet ski.
Hey dude! Thanks for reaching out and sharing your HX story. I’m planning to upload a new episode soon, so stay tuned! It’s awesome to hear you had a 95 HX in the family - such a classic ride. Your GTX 300 must be a beast in comparison! Have you ever tried a stand-up jet ski? It’s definitely a whole different experience. Thanks for watching ✌
@@classicjetskis Never ridden a Stand Up Jet Ski unfortunately… The GTX certainly is very different and a lot of fun shocking friends with a ride on it. Went to a Wake Pro 215 back in 08 as a compromise because of space and cost reasons instead of getting a boat, with the intention of getting a towing boat in the future. But life being at it is, it never worked out and JetSkis just work great for our/my needs. The big watersport ready SeaDoo‘s don‘t need much space, don‘t require a big car and sip fuel compared to a real boat. They can also be a lot of fun alone on the water. Buddy owns a 1997 XP with the 03 DI engine in it but never seems to run right. Maybe this season we will get it out there and enjoy both vintage and new Jets 👍
What ski you gonna buy next ? Ive had... 95 & 96 xp 97 xp 98 xp ltd 98 & 99 gsx ltd 96 gsi 96/97 gsx 96 gtx 99 gtx ltd 97/98 spx 2001 rx millennium Never had or road any of the newer skis. Have nothing at the moment, sent my dad your channel. Happy to actually find someone whos into the old skis like us. My dads 60 odd now so all he keeps saying is get a 4 stroke 😂.... im all for the 2 strokes still. IMO best ever ski is 99 gsx ltd. We had racing boats for a while phantoms and rings... nothing beats skis tho 👍
So glad you found the channel as sounds like we have a lot in common, where are you based buddy? ✌🙌 Ok so my next ski is a tricky one, at the moment I have 9 old classic 2 strokes and have to be honest, have managed to get a lot of the skis on my bucket list, so at the moment my interest is around getting a new gen ski, I'm very tempted by the new GTRX 300 just because I have so many great 2 strokes, that I want a 70mph new gen ski in the garage, for longer rides and to ride with my Dad and stay with him. I will likely invest in a double trailer so I can take a 2 stroke for lightweight playful fun and also be able to take a spark or bigger 300hp. My love and heart is with my 2 strokes so I still have lots of classics I want, from a OG B1, to an X2, SPX 99, XP 96 787, Square nose, or kaw stand up and RX... but I'm very picky with how clean and the story behind them, so it will take time for the right ones to come up.... This year my focus will be restoring the HX I just picked up ua-cam.com/video/bTQkQV_zs6c/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ClassicJetskis Thanks for watching dude 👌
@classicjetskis based in bolton... so we go on the river loon up at lancaster... it's not too bad other than working around the tide time, but🤷♂️... the price of the new skis today is mind-blowing compared to what they were back in the day... I'll check out the hx video... 👍
I would of said we could have had a ride out but I'm Bristol so a little far... we normally go to Exmouth so pretty far for you dude... TBF we work around the tides aswell... near where I live me and my Dad ride routinely in Burnham on Sea and that has one of the fastest tides in the country. Yes sadly new skis cost the price of a car which just doesn't make sense to me when you cab pick up a clean 2 stroke for 2k. Thanks for watching dude 🙌
My brother , i know this is out of the context of the vid , pls forgive me As u know , i got a yamaha 700 xl waverunner 2strokes, I'm willing to go with premix, can i just let the oil tank empty, without doing any modifications ? Thank u
No problem buddy, don't ever be afraid to fire me a question. Sorry however in complete honesty because I have never ran premix, I'm not 100% sure on the best protocal. People that I have seen run premix alot of the time just leave the tank in place, others remove them... IMO I would leave it in place as if you ever decide to go back to the pump then its still there. Sorry I can't be much more help, I'm sure some of my followers maybe able to help more? Guys...🙌👀
My question is… the RXT getting lost amongst the other Seadoo craft. The Explorer is what it is, the GTX the ultimate cruiser, now the GTR is the cheap power horse in that larger category, then you have the GTI etc so why is the RXT necessary and the cost considering the others offer almost the same configuration and cheaper.
From my understanding the RXT-X is geared more towards riders that want a 'reasonable comfort' but still want to be on a sporty machine...whilst the GTX uses the same 1630 supercharged engine, same ST3 hull, the RXTX has race sponsons, launch control and obviously the colourway of the GTX is positioned more towards the luxury cruiser market, vs as you can see from my Dads, the green is geared towards a more aggressive look and feel. When my Dad was looking to buy, we actually went to look at the brown and silver 2019 GTX and we both agreed at the time, it just didn't have anywhere near the same WOW factor in person. That coupled with the above features made it a no brainer for my Dad... the RXTX will provide everything the GTX will but more. As for comparing the GTRs GTRX, that is better topic as you're 100% right in saying at £20,000 new, the GTRX 300 will make people truly ask, do I really need to be on a ST3 hull... IMO the Polytec 2 hull still holds up well through chop from when I rode the same GTI 170 hull (same hull as GTRX). So for me I would compromise on an ST3 and get Polytec 2 as more playful and will still do a reasonably good job in chop. The other thing to keep in mind, my Dad bought 2nd hand with 20 hours on it from the original owner and paid what we both agree is the relative fair value for this craft...if we were both buying new, I would agree the relative cost of a RXTX vs a GTRX doesn't make a lot of sense... In essence I liken this to the way the 1996 XP transferred to the SPX badge name in 1997, even though it was a very similar craft... many saw the SPX as a lesser model as it didn't carry the top tier XP model name. Hope this helped answer you question buddy 🙌👌
@@classicjetskis I understand your positive points buuuut aftermarket accessories and a sticker kit can change the average ski. I’m still not convinced that an edgy colour or pieces of plastic bolted on the hull justify the pricing in my opinion. It’s not the first time Seadoo made a ski and forgot about it.
@@TBird89 You missed the launch control which I do think is a cool added benefit vs a GTX, when racing your buddies....The reality is though I'm not an ambassador for new gen...everyone that follows this channel knows I'm a 2 stroke guy that occasionally entertains having a go on new... I don't and shouldn't 100% comment on how a GTX compares and so on, as never rode one and have no real interest in doing so. In terms of new gen, the Spark is the only ski I truly endorse, everything else isn't truly inline with what I think a PWC should be... that goes even for the insane RXPX with the T3 hull... lightweight playful fun with performance is the ticket for me! What I would say though is claiming a sticker kit will make a 2019 GTX look like my dads RXTX is disingenuous mate, you would have to completely spray the ski and even then, the seats are different so aesthetically there is a difference. IMO I don't see the point in a GTX but thats my ignorance of just liking sporty machines vs cruise, people could say I'm just out of the feedback loop of new skis... As for price points as I admitted already, all new skis whether its a GTX, RXTX are silly for me when a GTRX is around 20k... Ask me about 2 strokes and I'm your man... new stuff I report as I experience and the RXT is great at what its designed to do, maybe a GTX is the same but to me the way I see it its like comparing a sport trim car vs the luxury trim car... I think the difference with skis unlike cars however, is most get on the water to have fun and go fast vs having a luxury craft, so the RXTX tier wise is the more premium option for Seadoo to inflate the price. The launch control alone would make me pick one over the other as the difference between when I launch in standard sports vs with the launch is impressive. Thanks for the thoughts mate ✌✌
@@classicjetskis I love the reply, thanks. you really really love this recreation and I also don’t want to take anything away from your hard work in creating these videos so I’ll stop talking. 🫢
Don't be silly dude you're not taking anything away from my videos, I genuinely like the interaction and talking with you guys hence you can see I take the time to come back to everything with actual thought vs a '👍' which alot of channels do to comments. Of course I get keyboard warriors from time to time (not saying you're one of them) that just want a argument, but by and large I have great followers with great perspectives. Thanks buddy 👍
Everyone knows I'm obsessed with 2 strokes and love small playful skis/hulls but even with that stance I wouldn't call the ST3 hull boring, anything that can do 70mph effortlessly is going to spice things up...what I found very interesting IMO with this first ever ride is the ST3 gives you so much confidence to just power through any chop that comes your way... As for comparing a new gen bigger Yam, I can't comment tbh buddy, as never rode one...what I would say however from what I have read up on the ST3 is one of the best hulls in the chop. There is also the small matter of aesthetics, again just my opinion, but feel Seadoos offerings are far nicer looking than Yamahas new bigger skis to start with Hopefully this year I get a go on the GTRX 300 to see how much more playful that feels, but the power is impressive for sure Thanks for watching

Prime example take alook at the reboarding ladder on the fx ho/shvo 2022+ you mentioned, that looks like something aftermarket bolted on, in essence no doubt Yamaha products are great in their own respect but in terms of customer prestige of owning one, I think Seadoo are more desirable, again though this is my personal opinion, based on what I see most of when I ride.... that said Seadoo prices have to be careful as they are year on year becoming pretty unrealistic.
