Well a person who has 200+ cars ranging from high end exotics to 60's big block muscle machines to 90's JDM Retro classics, he probably knows a lot about cars.
Well money doesn't often give knowledge. But in this case, the guy is a car god. Even steam cars are his thing, he does everything and he does it properly.
I met j Leno at a car show. He pulled up in an Acura nsx 2017, but he was extremely nice to everyone shaking hands, taking pictures and striking conversation.
when you have a few hundred cars and the vast majority of them run or could run without any major things (like maybe just change out the fluids including fuel and all that) and a lot if not all of those are insured then...yea i dont blame him. he's got a bunch of mechanics that work for him and he can make his own parts in house. he's had a 3D scanner and printer for years now then he can get whatever he needs done machined on his CNC and its just amazing. the reason he has that is cause a lot of parts would cost a fortune to have made by someone else and it would take forever while he can just get a new part in hours, try it out, and redesign if it didnt work out
Because people who are having a good time with their friends and at the same time get excersise and fresh air definately needs to get a life. I don't play it myself, but come one.
There's loads of 'car guys' and race drivers you couldn't talk cars with because if it's not a Mercedes or if it's not 2 years old, they don't know anything about what you're talking about, or they're too snobby or rude or whatever, where as I think you could walk up to Jay, shake his hand and say 'Hi, Jay, I've got a 73 XB GS Fairmont with a 351 HO 4V and C4, 3:00.1 Locker and HO brakes, he'd have a smile, turn to you and say 'yes, Stig, I am your long lost denim wearing dad, come home with me, and we can play cars forever in my shop' wait... Went off track a bit there....
That is exactly how Leno is, met him in the Malibu canyons and he's such an approachable guy and it's great knowing he's got a passion for automobiles that any enthusiast can find common ground with him.
awesome! just some friendly advise though, don't fiddle with your phone when the person being interviewed is answering a question, it can be rude for some.
Max Tepper i know, but he shouldn't be scrolling down when the person being interviewed is answering the question he was just asked, it seems a bit disrespectful, he can always keep paying attention to the reply and scroll down when he finishes. Its a small detail but some people can get triggered by that.
I can't believe he chose the Mazda miata. Just another reason why i should get one. And still, Tue tuk tuk video remains unreleased. The joke lives on!
+A happy Bambi well i have never driven an miata but its slightly bigger, more complicated and weighs more its like his bigger brother i geus. i got mine for a little less than 3k (have to look what miatas go for here) and its completly stock and has 150k on it. i dont really know for what price mx5s go here
Yeah same.. I've considered so many cars to be my sports car over the last year, and it's as they say "Miata is always the answer" It's gonna be a Mx-5 this time, on my budget. S14 / S2k or something next time, but Miata is the answer.
I would have picked a Miata as well. It's a great little car! I bought a brand new one in 1991 and kept it until 1995 when I traded it for the RX7 in my avatar. I still own it today. The car had 9 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. Speaking of car names, I called my Miata Junior.
fuck recently tried testdriving a mx-5 and appeared i was just to tall for these cars so now every time i hear mx-5's mentioned as a great car i cry a bit
An ambiance of performance cars. An interviewer who is really good at his game. And an interviewee who has an immense genuine passion for cars and a great sense of humor. This will easily be one of the best car videos of the year.
Alex, when I first subscribed to your channel I didn't expect you to be so awesome, but you are the real deal mate! I am visiting London next week, I hope I will run into you. Nice video as always.
This is what so many guys get wrong when interviewing or being interviewed Jay, you have to roll with the punches, and you did so well sir. My proverbial transmission fluid smelling cap is off to you. :-)
He's spot on regarding the first gen MX5/Miata. It may not be flash but it is light, handles beautifully and is reliable and great fun to drive.: really pure. I'd rather that than a second hand hot hatch any day as you can actually have a great deal of involvment at legal speeds and learn how to slide around in a rwd without killing yourself. It also has the sweetest manual shift ever made imho. Jay is more cerebral in evaluating a car's merits than the macho, boorish Clarkson "down the pub" style. I think he was just messing around at the end though. I hope so as I did not have Leno down as the type who would deflate people or make them feel uncomfortable.
Its really neat how Jay has a passion for any car no matter how expensive or cheap it is, I have even more respect for him now. This video also shows how naturally humorous he is, I don't know why he has a forced approach for humor on TV.
Awesome :D also it's nice to see a video with Jay in it were he's not 'taking over' the video. I do like his video's, but i feel when he has a guest, he tells more about the car himself than the guest who is there to talk about it..
If I was rich like Jay, I would have as many cars as him. The dude is passionate about his cars and knows a lot about them. He even works on some of them (though I am aware he employs mechanics). Cool interviews!
What a guy! Alex no one can step on your interview game!
Haha, cheers bruh!
Hi, I'm here to ruin the fact that no not big You Tubers have replied to this 😑 you guys are both epic

OMG!
Jay Leno's skin is the color of Alex's hair, Alex's skin is the color of Jay Leno's hair
Mind blown
California vs UK sunshine. I’m a white man of German decent that grew up in Texas. I am many shades darker than Jay year round.
Well spotted
That's so racist, oh mah gawd!
(sarc)
If they had a baby together it would be invisible.
Jay Leno knows his shit.
Gramps knows all and only breathe cars
Well a person who has 200+ cars ranging from high end exotics to 60's big block muscle machines to 90's JDM Retro classics, he probably knows a lot about cars.
Jay's a moronic tool
Well money doesn't often give knowledge. But in this case, the guy is a car god. Even steam cars are his thing, he does everything and he does it properly.
Galf506 Yes, I totally agree.
Love jay leno's authentic love for all cars
... except ferraris? i rarely see him do anything ferrari (with the exception of a recent episode on his show)
Because Ferrari ownership revolves around a bunch of bullshit rules?
+fabulousprofound he doesn't hates Ferrari. On the Contary beliefs he actually love's them! He just doesn like how they treat new customers.
That's a true Enthusiast.
WU BROS
Jay Leno's Ford GT application was probably like
Name: Jay Leno.
More like ford sent him their application, to put their car in his garage
Stolen comment
shahbaz ahmad so wut

Great sense of humor and a true petrolhead!
Damn I've probably seen the whole Tuk Tuk video from the 'coming soon' outro bits by now
lmao
I think the tuk tuk video, is still being filmed
Noo it's still coming soon.
+David MuscleGuy and then the next one, and then the next one, and then the next one...
Some say the Tuk Tuk video will be 'Coming soon' for the rest of eterniry...
this was hands down the best awkward interview
the one with engineering explained was better
Kimi was the best

He has had a look at some of the Aussie collections.
That is exactly how Leno is, met him in the Malibu canyons and he's such an approachable guy and it's great knowing he's got a passion for automobiles that any enthusiast can find common ground with him.
It's good to hear. I wouldn't say he was a hero, as such, but he's certainly someone I admire, and it would be awful hearing that he was an asshole.
TheAussieStig30 haha yeah ikr. I don't claim to know myself, but I've heard Letterman was more of an asshole.
"Sorry I don't play Pokemon. I've a life, and I'm not 12"
*Every Subaru fan gets triggered*
why you gotta put subarus out there?
What a fucking idiot this guy right here is. Your favourite car is a gtr am i right???
+Prodriver33 thats what im saying!!
Sub or die the gtr isnt even a good car imo
Uhm.... No? Where the actual fuck are you getting that idea? Lol.
I watch a lot of Jay Leno, he let you speak a lot. Should feel blessed.
What a legend! Oh and Jay Leno was pretty cool too.
Ha! :D
+Alex Kersten ohhhhohmygoodnessohh!!! just wanted to say hi
Alex keeps the cringe comming and Jay just shuts him down every time haha what a legend
Jay Leno is savage xD
+Hugh Jayness if you look up the definition of savage in a dictionary it's a picture of jay Leno.
he is a comedian you know
It's called slang Mr. Literal
His chin is savage.
The thumbnail looks like Jay was forced to wear the hat
he took it off so i guess so
you know its somewhat scripted
Alex. Was great to meet you at he FOS. I'm a massive Jay Leno Fan so very jealous that you got to meet the great man.
you can't force someone like Jay to promote someone else....he put that hat on because he's humble enough to do so.....and secure.
Danny S13 my boi
Car throttle, You need to meet Jeremy Clarkson or Richard Hammond or James May
Jay Leno is a boss!!! Hilarious video haha!!
Who else is waiting for the tuk-tuk video?
Pretty sure it's been WEEKS now!
In 2017 maybe LOL
It's never coming
Alex tried to drift it and died...
I couldn't care less, there's Jay Leno in this video.
5:41 Thats the best description of Pokemon GO I´ve ever heard!
lol :-) very true!
awesome! just some friendly advise though, don't fiddle with your phone when the person being interviewed is answering a question, it can be rude for some.
Are your serious? He had the interview questions on his phone...
Max Tepper i know, but he shouldn't be scrolling down when the person being interviewed is answering the question he was just asked, it seems a bit disrespectful, he can always keep paying attention to the reply and scroll down when he finishes. Its a small detail but some people can get triggered by that.
no, you did not know and you made fool of yourself
oh "triggered", i see, now your stupid comment makes sense
it triggered me from his cocky attitude. you need to change the way you act in front of certain people or at least try to show some basic manners
***** nice troll mate
LOL the "OOOOOOOOOOOOHHH" after leno said "i have a life" was hilarious
I said it before and I said it again...
Once upon a Jay Leno, there was a Denim.
...and they lived happily ever after.
~The End~
Clarkson shares the same tailor.
Jay is a class act. giving time to most folks that look up.to him. even the british. class act indeed.
I can't believe he chose the Mazda miata. Just another reason why i should get one. And still, Tue tuk tuk video remains unreleased. The joke lives on!
well an s13 is like a bigger miata with a turbo already
+Danny Gr How much will an s13 cost? Is it as simple as a miata? Is it as small and nimble? Those are the things that make the miata great.
+A happy Bambi well i have never driven an miata but its slightly bigger, more complicated and weighs more its like his bigger brother i geus. i got mine for a little less than 3k (have to look what miatas go for here) and its completly stock and has 150k on it. i dont really know for what price mx5s go here

Get one, I did.
I met Jay in Malibu a month ago. Such a laid back guy...one of the most likable Gents out there!
Jay is such a tremendous guy! Always fun to watch and listen to.
HOW....did you pull this off? Leno!!!!
He insisted on it ;)

+Corkoth55 What are you on about?
The Old Gentleman hey. chill out.

Love the way Jay looks at your hand with discust before shaking it😍
that was the best interview ive seen in a while. well done!
This Miata controversy is getting more and more heated. It started with the memes section on CT, and now Jay Leno😂
Can we get into negative numbers? Best thing I've heard today.
This was the best of this series. Some, for me, are unwatchable but this was a good mix of everything.
how the hell doesn't this video has more views??? It made me laugh so much. Thanks!
Does jay always wear the same clothes?
Si
billythekid perez
Yes
I heard Albert Einstein did the same thing.
@@papasteve215 Gracias

This channel might be the best car channel on youtube!
Hilarious! Jay is very patient.
This made my day. I just began working an hour ago on a first gen Miata I just picked up last month. :)
This was the best interview up to date done by anyone anywhere.
How am I only seeing this in 2020 🤨
Alex is 31? I thought he was like 25
We can be friends ;)
I'm 19, and people often think I'm like 24
22 and people think I'm 26.... I've had fucking 30 before.

Imagine spending a day with Jay Leno! He seems so genuine and the things he knows!
thank God for not being TOO awkward.
Before watching, I thought you might actually scare him off. lol
What I got from this? Take motor oil to the strip club.
I love you awkward interviews!
Awesome interview. You are both awesome and Leno is simply a legend.

Alex, when I first subscribed to your channel I didn't expect you to be so awesome, but you are the real deal mate! I am visiting London next week, I hope I will run into you. Nice video as always.
Jay Leno's garage series is so great, this guy really has wide appreciation for vehicles.

Great video with Jay Leno and keep up the good work.
Thank you. Loved it.

"No, I'm sorry. I have a life." Lmfao!
Got to like Jay. Understated humor.

That Le Mans car thats in the back ground was in Knoxville a few weeks back for harper cars and coffee. Amazing piece of art
Amazing interview. keep up the good work!
When Jay said can we go into negative numbers, I thought you were gonna say "and on that bombshell" 😂😂
Far out, Jay Leno is an absolute legend. Love that guy
Ahh Mr. Leno. I always learn stuff when I watch a video he's in. He's like... a history teacher. Of cars. A car history teacher.
Damn, really lives up to the title.........
Awesome :D also it's nice to see a video with Jay in it were he's not 'taking over' the video. I do like his video's, but i feel when he has a guest, he tells more about the car himself than the guest who is there to talk about it..
Jay burned the shit out of you.....I'm so sorry
Congrats, chaps. Lovely video. 😄👏🎉
This was just great!
Can't believe you're interviewing JAY LENO!!
I would love to talk to Jay, or Seinfeld, about cars. Tim Allen, too.
Best interview of the century!
You should actually race Jay with your miata. Worth it I think
If I was rich like Jay, I would have as many cars as him.
The dude is passionate about his cars and knows a lot about them. He even works on some of them (though I am aware he employs mechanics).
Cool interviews!
Best one yet!
Jay is so straightforward I love it.
Whoever did the editing on this video, thank you! 😂
This is a great style of comedy. Love it
That's Alex's first interview I didn't find awkward haha.
Seriously, best one yet.
ct: pokemon go, jay leno: " sorry I have a life", brilliant response.
