The reporter keeps dragging her through the mud until the trial tickles his conscience. He releases a third piece w/ what happened. The jury sees it, resulting in a mistrial. They manage to swing a deal where the boss throws his subordinate under the bus, & he gets off w/ sexual misconduct. (The underling gets 5-15 years. The boss, who was the mastermind behind everything, maybe gets 1 year.) Why a deal? To prevent a retrial the boss paid off the girl’s family. To the parents, their daughter had lost her honor & that was that. Exact number wasn’t given, but it was enough for her brother to go back to school for his Masters (MBA specifically).
@@dryb3301 Yeah, and after all of that venom they spit & were willing to cause an outcry when they thought it was a hate crime. Long story short she was assaulted, she lied because it took place in the office of the brother's bosses building from the boss and his friend in his office, she lied to keep him from finding out and possibly losing his job if they pointed fingers at them which he does. "New York is supposed to be better than New Delhi" in regards to Islamophobia and related hate crimes? I am curious as to what evidence she had to support that claim. Not suggesting the statement is true or false, moreso, that is a very specific claim to make and I can't imagine a basis for researching that with a sufficient sample size of participants and testimonies. It would have been more plausible had she said "America" instead of New York. Also, New Delhi has a sizeable Muslim population and although violence and assaults do occur, crimes that are based in bigotry, especially sexual assault, are not commonplace.

If that had happened in a strict Muslim country, she would have had to produce multiple male witnesses to make the charge stick. If not, and with evidence of sexual activity, she would be stoned for committing adultry.
I know it’s a tv show. This hits me like a ton of bricks because Muslim is my religion what would happen if that was me. I would be so mad. Love You Olivia

Losing one's honor for being violated. Why do you think the Lee's sister (in Enter: the Dragon) deleted herself. If she was to say that her SA was act of a hate, then her honor would still be intact. But some whyte folks would look at story in this episode and other one (Assumptions) and suggest that all hate crimes are hoax without knowing that in her community, being violated outside of marriages by someone within your community is worse than sleeping around.
i never understood why'd they reach out to a christian reverand and not muslim clergy until now and i realized because a muslim clergy at least in accordance to the video would just blame heba instead of the men.
What is the reason for incidents like this, being a muslim or being an arab? If we would take 4 muslim women, 21 year old Aisha who is from Iraq and is wearing modest clothing and a hijab, 24 year old Ani from Indonesia who is wearing westernized clothing and no hijab, 25 year old Alara who is from Turkey and is wearing westernized clothing and no hijab and 26 year old Karima from Tunisia who is wearing westernized clothing and no hijab. What would the odds be that only Aisha would be called names, get abused/raped, be told to get back on the camel and go back where she came from or killed?

That was a very judgemental comment! We do not know the reason for champagne! Perhaps, it was a way to cope with her trauma!? She did not get drunk, even though most people would be tempted to drink to an oblivion to forget! She is a human, not a robot! People make mistakes and errors! To expect perfection even from the most religious devout is unrealistic! We are all human! The girl and her family are under an extreme stress! Whatever the case, the whole scene hardly makes her family ‘psycho’!
