When they were arrested they cried racism because they said the Honor Killing was protected by their 1st amendment as a part of their culture. They were convicted and sentenced to life in prison. It earned some Infamy about 12 years back again because the family said it was part of their culture and at the time some activists were defending them.
Who can defend killing a child? There is something seriously wrong with that family that they genuinely felt justified in killing their daughter for liking someone they didn’t like.

Her brother and father was behind the murder but only her brother got charged since her dad is a diplomat. The episode ended with her mother being murdered by her husband (her father) since she testified against them and he got away with it and flew back to Afghanistan
