Debicki just gives me goosebumps. So elegant, so magnificent ..so.. enchanting. What a performer.
I just love Elizabeth as Diana ...it's just she's come back to life..
One of the finest shows ever made. As wonderful as it is ambitious.
Nobody portrayed Diana so perfectly as Debicki.
The writing is once again fantastic.and the performances,my goodness,it just absorbs one immediately.even the small roles like Dr.Khan is done so beautifully.great casting.
I agree completely. Thoroughly sick of those who only complain
I agree except Dominic West being Charles. He did great but not to The Crown level that everyone gave.
@@bar10ml44 can't blame though.the storytelling is so perfect that viewers forget that it's just a show meant for entertainment.it is not a documentary.once again highlighting how great the show is!
Uff! Humayun Saeed was so subtle and warm as Dr. Hasnat Khan.
me encanto esa serie
I m in love with this show..everyone has just put life to the characters..❤
I always find myself researching after viewing episodes (from Season 1 to 5). It's always part of the adventure.
Same
me too
Me too! And I remember a lot of it
Me too. And I get mesmerized how accurately everything has been portrayed.
Same with me😅
one of the best shows ever.
Brilliant performance Elizabeth!
The Crown is the best thing on TV. Can't wait for Season 6
As the episodes went on, I hate to say this, but at some points Diana reminded me of Paris Hilton. Her eyes and the low way she spoke especially.
😮 OMG thought it was just me 😮
What is amusing is....they are famous for the ability to wave. They don't play music, or sing, or dance. They just show up and WAVE. Crowds cheering, long lense photographers to capture the perfect moment when a hand catches the light and movement and everyone is bedazzled and cheers and smiles. It's truly a unique talent to wave.
royalties, not entertainers.
No, they are famous because British monarchy is an institution that stretches back over 1200 years.
Hum, hum! You got That wrong! Charles does, the Queen was a great dance, as they all are. "Ability to wave'? what flamin' BS that it!
I loved the show! Very well done❣️👍
As an American, I have always found the fascination with the British Royal family very curious. However, one would have had to live under a rock not to be aware of Princess Di. I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to never be able to step outside your home without dozens of photographers shouting and taking photos of your every move. Prince Harry talks about how it traumatized him from an early age and even more so after his mother’s death. I watched all of The Crown and throughly enjoyed it. But my question remains one which was eluded to in the show….why is the Monarchy still relevant? The Royals have amassed a huge fortune, yet all British citizens contribute to their upkeep.
Exactly! They’re worth billions, it’s ridiculous
Most young British people want the monarchy dismantled. I agree poor people here suffering as the rich elites languish in quite obscene and overpriviledged luxury. As you say billions
They all did a great job. Some did not resemble their characters very much, but most still captured their essence pretty well. 'Diana' was magnificent. At times it was like watching and listening to the real person. 'Charles' gave a very feeling portrayal, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I like the real Charles, and his positive aspects and the challenges he endured were very well illuminated. Camilla was excellent as well. Apart from the parts that are clearly fake, the Royals need not worry too much about people turning off them as a result of these portrayals. I think they were all sympathetically handled. I would have liked to see Fergie, James Hewitt and more of Andy in action, though. All the false stuff should have been left out to make room for more juicy details that were actually true.
I have the impression that Peter Morgan not only hate Fergie, but he doesn't respect her at all!!! He hates Thatcher, but a least he respect her enough, to give her a great part in Season 4, with Fergie is just nothing!!!
Whoever is playing Camela is a dead ringer for her.
Andy in action. The mind boggles
Imelda's speaking voice is so British and different than I thought it would be. I love it!
2:16 "Diana wont rest until she's blown the whole thing up"
funny enough by resting Diana finally bought the house of Windsor to its knees
Incredibly well done!
I thought dominic was a little too sophisticated and old for charles at that period but an incredible performance nonetheless. Elizabeth is just there as Diana inhabiting the part perfectly.
It makes me want to cry - I think Diana was ready to grow beyond Charles & the marriage as it was. Such a shame - what happened. I believe they could have come to some arrangement & she could have continued her work with the Royal Family. Her children were the real losers in the end.
0:40 Honestly I was really impressed by him in this scene. The speech, the meeting.
3:32 she was the celebrity of this times. I am not using celebrity in bad way. Celebrity in the best way possible
I love this season
Really did a great job. Bravo
Onde acharam semelhança entre o ator e Charles?
Nossa...muito diferente!!
Awesome Cast and very talented!
They've tried to portray all the characters in such a way to make you say "they're all human"...And they've tried to balance the story, to keep a focus on the Crown and not necesarily on what happened only between Charles and Diana. Divorce is not an easy thing, it is messy...But I feel they could have done a better job in portraying her side. At times, I felt the message that was being sent out is that she is not reasonable, that she is exaggerating her grief, etc. whereas Charles and Camillas's reactions and struggles were perfectly fine
I think it was a pretty fair portrayal, going by all the information available at the time and since then.
She wasn't reasonable She was truly mentally ill, and a narcissist like her daughter--in-law, Megan
Nobody ever mentions Charles throwing a hammer at her head. Speaking of crazy.
They’re were never really going to go after Charles. He is still alive unlike Diana, who they can paint as they wish with no repercussions. Charles is not an attractive man but the actor who played him was. I could tell by that casting alone they weren’t going to get real about Charles.
@@ckl5590 except hurting the boys
I'm sure Meagan will watch this season over and over again
He did look like Charles, But from the back. 😂 Still saw McNulty from The Wire, And that was over a decade ago.
I too kept seeing McNutty
Fun fact the friend she sits with at the hospital is Irish wonder how that conversation went down
6:42 She has to ride the storm from the beggining
It is not a documentary. I enjoyed it nevertheless.
I'm interested in seeing how they depict this time of the monarchy. It seems to me that Charles was just so insecure, immature, and selfish. Certainly, Diana was as well ... but he was on the inside of the monarchy and it was his job to fold her in. And he utter failed.
He should have been allowed to marry Camilla in the first place. Queen Elizabeth was allowed to marry the man she loved despite her family's concerns. Yet she denied her own sister's desire to marry the man she loved and the family pressured Charles to marry a woman he didn't love. Imagine being in a lousy marriage for more than a decade and not being able to get out of it. The entire royal family let Diana down.
@@JM-zk9ou I don't entirely disagree. But Camilla was, at that time, mixed up with Andrew Parker Bowles. It is entirely unlikely that she would have married Charles had he asked (pre-1973). Then she married him in 1973 ... some 8 years before Charles married Diana. So that door was closed. He needed to move on for 8 years and was simply too lily-livered to do so.
This wasn't about the family not "letting" him marry Camilla ... she made her decision. Now, did the family pressure Charles ... sure. But they also knew him; they knew he would never stand up and make a decision ... preferring to languish in self-pity for the fact that Camilla got away (for 8 years!!!).
@@kdmdlo what nonsense. Charles remained close to Camilla but he had a busy life in the 1970s and had numerous girlfriends. how did he not move on?
@@glen7318 He continued "seeing her" ... meaning having a physical relationship with her throughout the 1970's. That's not my idea of "moving on". And, of course, he dated other women. How did those relationships work out?
And, yes, Charles utterly failed Diana. Yes, Diana failed him, in some ways. But he's failure was both colossal and complete.
@@JM-zk9ou very true! I lived thru that time as a wife & Mom, & I always felt the same as you. And @KM
Loved Philip. Well played.
Some actors look like clones of real characters while others are completely off.
You don't work at 11 years of marriage by sleeping with your mistress
I’m at somewhere around the halfway point of this season and am a little disappointed because it seems a bit disjointed and rushed at times. Even the dialogue seems too fast when the queen and Diana speak sometimes and they don’t sound like they’ve got quite enough plums in their mouths, some of the castings are a bit off for me too but I’m still hooked.
Dominik West is much handsomer than real Charles. The same about the actress who played Camilla in the 5-6th seasons.
It's not about looks. Put your thinking cap on.
- the only person in this family to have a direct relationship with the Prime Minister is the sovereign.
- which one day will be me.
- one day, but not yet.
...this season was released very, very on time.
Charles pursued a woman (Camilla) who, at the time, he KNEW would be unacceptable as Queen. If he had nipped it in the bud, so to speak, he wouldn't have found himself in the later mess.
Such a weak man. Spoiled and selfish.
Even towards Camilla, just look at the pen leaking tape. He just hands it over to her without considering for a moment that he is transferring the leaking ink to his wife. Very weird behaviour but Camilla somehow takes it well.
@@marj.antonius7016 I think that's a bit unfair to say, and I'm not his fan at all. When people have a long relationship they lean towards one another in moment of need. He lost his mother at the same week and at the same time he had to grief in front of the whole world- that's not easy. And he is the new king- that's a lot to digest. And I can tell you- when I lost my father- even when it wasn't a surprise- it was still very challenging. And I didn't have to stand in front of people or cameras.
He treated Diana horribly, but he also was in a situation that was almost impossible to manage. When you don't love someone- you can't force ourself to do it.
@@lirazdemasure936 yes I agree , it must be torture to be stuck with someone you don’t love.
Especially having to fake it for the whole world , for so long.
I imagine his upbringing made him the way he is. I don t think he is a bad person … If I had people falling all over me and doing everything for me all my life , I would certainly feel entitled.
3:08 she is talking with british accent not australian.
I don’t know why they cast Dominic West as Charles….he is far too good looking and his body is larger. Whereas all the other actors truly look like the Royal members they are portraying.
The 'Queen Mother' sure doesn't, and neither does 'Prince Philip.' I felt Dominic West gave a great performance despite not looking like Charles. It was so feeling and believable I soon forgot about the lack of resemblance.
This man has played many parts. Charles and Fred West. Haha.
Plus a villainous spy in one of the ' Johnny English' films. Very versatile. He would be a good James Bond.
Also Jimmy McNulty in “The Wire”. Arguably his best role.
Such a great show but them meeting up after devorce was just daft .
I just want to ask Dominic West one question. Did he intentionally avoid mirrors when the thought popped into his head that he could play Charles?! Cause seriously, one look in the mirror should have changed his mind!
EDDY Alexander Rivera Martinez
Ok, so you hired Staunton to get QEII, but Dudes you got Umbridge.
Then there’s the new Anne and the newMargaret, both luke warm. But, then again who could seriously follow HBC.
5 was a bomb.
Better bring in Maggie Smith, no matter where you put her she can save your butts.
Charles and Camilla are the best.A real love story.
more like a tampon story
You never saw Charles happy until he was married to Camilla . I think the firm grew in that it was ruining lives by such high standards of marriage
Agreed
I love Dominic West, but I wish they had cast someone else who looked like or could be made up to look like homely Charles.
yes, butt face homely Charles who prefers hamburger to filet mignon.
So sad the Crown presently disagrees with this series stating it was totally innacurate
It’s not episode 1
Charles was miscast. The actor is far better looking and more intelligent. All others believable.
Dominic West was my least favorite Charles. I didn't understand that casting 😕
Even West didn't understand the casting - he has correctly said he looks nothing like Charles.
Now all the Yanks will take this as a history lesson
and the Brits will complain it's totally untrue--plus, the entire world is watching this show with their own opinions
Please…🙄 And all the Brits will stereotype the Yanks.
Hardly
no, we wont. They had to use too much restraint cause its the royals.
I feel season 5 is the most inaccurate portrayal of the characters of all. Princess Diana is portrayed as man hungry and without empathy. She was known around the world for her compassion and empathy. How disrespectful to her memory. 😢
That’s not how I felt they portrayed her… lol.
I agree. Like every man she looks at she’s ready to pounce. She was more discreet. The actress playing her face is too bony.
She was no angel. And she played the photographers like a violin. Not much about her many, many collusions with her "favourite" snappers.
She wasn't that innocent.
Well, a number of people who knew have said she was indeed kinda ‘man hungry’ at that point in time. If the season could have been longer, I think they would have rounded out her character more… but if they did that, they probably would have shown even more of her relationships with men (instead of just Hasnat and Dodi). It wouldn’t have looked good either way. But at least they showed her trying to move forward with her life.
As for her empathy and compassion, perhaps they felt those attributes were well enough covered in the previous season.
Should have been allowed to marry the first one in the beginning, then we wouldn't have had this mess..
Women are so skinny to be Diana💞
I didnt like this season at all, it is slow and sort of boring. Also the actors do not resemble the characters, Charles, Diana, rhe Queen Mother, I dont recognize them. Another thing is that Diana loved both her children, and here they only show William, Harry was hardly mentioned once, as if he didnt exist
I agree about Harry being persistently left out in a most unrealistic manner. They need to leave their 2020's biases aside when writing scripts about the 90's.
A királyi család soha nem tudta feldolgozni, hogy Dianát szerették az emberek, Karcsit pedig nem. Lába nyomába se ér Erzsébetnek.
I just wish that people would see this as it is, pure fiction and yet many believe it to be true especially the Americans.
and Shakespeare was fiction, and all the movies made about all the kings and queens--all fictionalized. The Americans rejected monarchy, so it's all fairy tale/soap opera to them
We’re not that daft, thank you. Easy on the cliches.🙄
yes, we love our soapy trash
Needed to speak louder!!
Dit seizoen viel zwaar tegen....ook niet afgekeken !
Finding it boring. We’ve had the real thing. This doesn’t work.
It's all a reconstruction of what may
Have happened
Obviously made for sensationism!
Charles was awful but turned nice ax
The actor they picked to represent Charles is nothing like him, He is to masculine and attractive and Charles is nothing like him, is like some new character in the story, weird….
I agree 100%
From where you bring big ear actor I think his acting is better then younger charles
Dominic West is a great actor, but a bad choice to play Prince Charles. He looks nothing like him.
Lucky for Dominic
If only Diana is alive today, l wonder who's making history. Diana or old 🥜 M?
My only worry with this show is that people won’t know the fact from the fiction. What I’ve heard so far how they made out Diana, I just won’t watch it!
People that don’t realize this is fiction are dumb as dirt. Do you care what people dumb as dirt think? Not me. Cheers.
does anybody really know? Come on
She’s too tall, thin and lanky to play Di😂
The WORST casting. Like, Prince Charles? Come on, the guy couldn’t even do a hint of his accent. Mannerisms weren’t there either.
The guys a good actor. But he talked and walked nothing like King Charles.
This season was boring. It was all over the place and slow moving at the same time.
I was mad I bought my Netflix subscription and everything.
The actress who played Diana did her mannerisms and voice perfectly.
That’s all I have with this season.
Agreed. It was a condensed version.
The most miscast season ever. And it just seems everything is off in this season - the magic is gone.
Cant stand Imelda. She makes me dislike the Queen even more.
This season was a major let down
She doesn’t have Diana’s charm….Charles should have blue eyes….don’t like his portrayal…
Elizabeth is so annoying with her constant repeating sort of sort of sort of sort of sort of
Load of tripe the dialogue was dreadful and stilted the actors were not well casted for the roles they played. Especially Imelda Stornton quit while you are ahead
Actress playing Dianna is yuk in this. Unbelievable to say the least.
She's way skinny and over uses a few of Di's mannerisms.
Worst season yet. Phillip was completely mis cast. Disappointed over all. 4/10.
Philip was like an old Pri*k.
WoW are you guys nuts.
Dianne and Charles were so miscasted.
Big tall Dianne short Charles.
The Queen was an embarrassment after the first two were so grand.
Thought it would never get over.
I don’t like Camilla but the King loves her.
This season just looked like to me someone wanted to bash King Charles.
Disquieting badly play lousy card and poor writing.
Glad there is no more.
After four terrific seasons it ended in the swamp.
Can you,.what about all the lies and couple in USA? Horrible things happen about famous people in USA?We can see videos from USA'S old days in film and music, business every day. Its only heartless peoples behavior to see.Dont know or dont remember? Meet your self in the door.
Totally wrong cast for this new season. I can’t quite get myself to finish the entire season. Last season is still my favourite with Olivier Coleman and Gillian Anderson. This season’s Diana and Charles are just trying too hard to act like Diana and Charles, especially the woman who plays Diana, she seems too anorexic to me and always held her head down too much. 😅 I think she is overdoing it.
The most inaccurate piece of dribble on tv.
Hated it
U can't even reach her
Most of it is bullshit made up for the drama
and you have a close up and personal inside track, I am sure
The hair is bad in the fake Diana.
Das passt nicht die Schauspieler
A good drama of United Condom.
Season 5 completely sucked. Please remake it. The 4 previous seasons were wonderful this was just boring as white paper.
Speak for yourself doofus
@@azjmsxhn 67.24% agree with me.
Unfortunately, I totally agree. Only Diana and partly some other characters save it.
Perhaps the problem lies with you.
If you have trouble falling asleep I recommend this season 🐗
LA QUINTA TEMPORADA ES MALISIMA. YO YA DI DE baja NETFLIX. Todo el contenido de NETFLIX es viejo. Lo nuevo es malo. Mucho oriental y mejicano.
Very disappointed in this season. Weakest season yet.
This actor is too wrinkled to play Charles
He is better looking than Charly boy
Charles had beautiful skin...I just watched an old video of him with the boys at Balmoral
@@lynnhubbard844 It a pity his wife hasn't got lovely skin
@@lindathompson3616 what is this obsession with looks? Camilla is 75, she's not a beauty and of course she has lines and wrinkles. I met Diana once and her skin did not look nearly as smooth and girlish as she did on TV
