The interview with Connie, Ritchie’s sister, was moving. My eyes moistened when she explained that after his death, she lost a father figure and her mom had a nervous breakdown. Thanks for documenting this lovely festival. Definitely, Ritchie Valens’ music lives on to delight generation after generation. 🌹

What a special event to witness. I was going to say getting to speak with the family was way better than getting a shirt but then they gave you one of theirs. What a nice family. I'm glad his legacy is living on and hopefully his items can be in a museum.

Thanks for sharing your video of the Ritchie Valens family and friends of his! 👍👍👍🌹🌹... I was just 13 years old at the time when I heard about the plane crash that killed, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and the, Big Bopper. ... I have never forgotten about that day, because, I had just heard of Ritchie Valens, about a year before his untimely, and tragic death at such a very young age. I will never forget that day, because he is my all time favorite singer. And, Buddy Holly, is my second all time favorite singer, and I just wish that they would have lived long enough to have made many more great songs, (hopefully together); because, as the song goes, "That was the day that the music died," 😭 for me and many other fans of, Ritchie Valens, Buddy Holly, and of course, The Big Bopper. 🌹🌹🌹... Thanks for sharing your video on UA-cam! ... 👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹💌🌷🎸🎵🔐📍👍

Great vlog Jordan! I live about 20 minuets from the crash site and have attended several concerts at The Surf Ballroom over the years. I never realized how significant the history was until I got older... I just grew up with it in my own back yard without understanding the huge impact they had on the rock’n roll movement so I always took it for granted. They have The Winter Dance Party every February in Clear Lake, IA, at the Surf Ballroom of course, but people come from all over the WORLD to little old Clear Lake, IA to honor Ritchie, Buddy, and the Big Bopper. I’ve never gone but have heard it’s a blast. Thank you for doing this vlog, it was very interesting!

Hey Jordan, I found you in my suggestions a few weeks back and been watching your vlogs non stop, GREAT stuff man!!! So I play 7 instruments and i'm in 2 bands right now, my 1st instrument was saxophone but after watching LaBamba I to started playing guitar (1991), learning all the chords and a few months went by and I started playing Ritchies music, I'm very versatile in music and play just about every genre. My old original metal band was gonna play the whiskey a go-go but unfortunately my mom passed away suddenly and I fell out of the music scene for a few years, I live in St. Louis. Anyway I really like what your doing and I enjoy your videos, by the way my 8 month old daughter watches them with me and when there over she starts fussing LOL.

I was 14 when I first saw La bamba but didn't know about Ritchie Valens but the songs (Los Lobos version) kept kicking in my head since then. Now I'm 47, and I watched La Bamba again 3 days ago. My emotions just exploded. Now I know about Ritchie, and the movie is based on a real person. The best thing I loved about Ritchie was that he's a humble person who took care of his mum and his family, and he was a great human being. That's why I keep learning about him and started watching videos related him. May God bless him and his family.

Thank you Jordan! When the movie LaBamba came out I went and seen it 4 times, it really saddened me how Richie was only 17, the movie soundtrack is so good! I would love to attend a Richie Valens Day in the future.
