    We all could have heard much more about Richie if the interviewer wasn't so much interested in telling what he knew or his opinion. But Irma is great to let us know more about Richie.

      Like anyone gives a shiz what that interviewer thinks or cares about. He sucks at interviewing. The ones that talk over their guest or talk more than they do really suck. They need to ask their questions and stfu until they finish!

    I've seen La Bamba prob 75 times and I STILL tear up. Esp when Bob yells "Ritchie!!!" at the end, my heart just breaks. Not only can you feel every inch of pain in Bob's voice but the echo of his yell is the perfect symbol for the emptiness he & his family will feel for the rest of their lives.
    That said, I can totally understand why the real Bob would not wanna watch the movie again. If it's that emotional for us, imagine what it does to this family to watch it. It reopens all their wounds.

    I’ll have to watch the movie again now I know Ritchie’s real mother is n it.. I didn’t know that until I watched this.. Very very good movie. Richie is a legend. To have so little time making his music he was huge. No telling how big he would had been. It’s weird he always had that fear of flying and it’s how he died. It’s like he had a little esp. I’ll tell anybody don’t ignore your fears especially your biggest. There is a reason why . I see it has a warning and don’t mess with it at all.
    Bob loved Ritchie and I’m sure after Ritchie’s death he really had it hard dealing with the actions and choices he picked and how he treated Ritchie at times. What happened to bobs wife and kid from the movie.Also when did Ritchie’s mother pass away? It’s been a very long time since Ritchie was here yet his music is still alive and just as powerful today as it was way back then.. R.I.P. Ritchie V…

    I actually don't think the interviewer is as bad as people are saying...I have seen worse. He showed his passion for the movie and how it as well as Valens' music affected him and what it means personally to his Chicano/Native American heritage. Sure, he may have made a few blunders...but that's why he has the gig and you or I don't:"the person who doesn't make any mistakes takes orders from the one that does."....let's be thinkers not haters.

    This is embarrassing but I don't care. When I watch this movie when I was about 8 years old I watched the whole movie. And when Richie's mother heard on a radio he died in a plane. seeing her face listening to her cry. broke my heart to pieces. But I was wondering. Is this movie a completely 100% true story or is there some that's not true in certain scene?

    • @mangrove
      @mangrove Рік тому +1

      Lots of embellishments for dramatic effect. For instance, Bob really was working on his car when he heard the radio, and then ran to his mom's house. However, she was in the kitchen, supported by two of Ritchie's friends, and not in the yard alone. Also, the last time that Bob and Ritchie saw each other was when the family took Ritchie to the airport when he flew off to join the Winter Dance Party. According to the website maintained by Irma and Connie, Bob and Ritchie hugged, with Ritchie telling him to "take care of Mama".

    Yes, this guy was so annoying, and he did interrupt the family too much. Again, as I have said time and again, Donna does not need to be mentioned at all. He didn't know that racist bitch. So it was not good seeing her. This fool has no idea who this old broad's true self really is. She didn't like or love Ritchie. It's so ironic how I have learned how racist white folk back then would be cruel to people of color, and years later confess the truth. Donna has stated she was nothing like the actress in the movie who played her. There's so much more to tell. She even said about her father dying, she never went to his funeral. She may have only told Irma and Connie this to make herself and them feel better, and to not look so guilty.

      I think Ritchie had other girls when he was away and it was something they agreed on. The Last night before Ritchie left on tour, and they had a party in which Donna was not allowed by her father to attend. Ritchie was on the phone asking if she will wait for him. Donna in interview said in she was not shy like in the movie but wilder and rebellious. She said she was upset with the script as supposedly there was a steamy scene between her and Ritchie, and she said that Ritchie died a virgin as far as she knew. Perhaps its what she wanted to believe he had no other or denying something for the sake of her image

      I couldn't agree with you more Kevin! You hit the nail right on the head!! Regarding Donna (Ludwig) Fox. She had "2" faces. The "FAKE" Donna! & the "SNAKE" Donna!. I "CRINGED!" when I heard IRMA (Ritchie's) sister talk about Donna in this interview. I have to remind myself that "Ritchie Valen's" sister's "Irma" & "Connie" were "YOUNG!" They were "INNOCENT!" They didn't know any better. The "TRUST!" they had in Donna. When Irma said, Donna comforted them while they sat on Donna's lap. After Ritchie Valen's death. "OMG!" Are you kidding me!? This is where the "FAKE!" Donna comes in! And the "SNAKE!" Donna comes in when she "SLITHERS!" her way into "Ritchie Valens!" family's "HEARTS!!!" And not to mention the "MEDIA!!!!!" Which is very "SAD!!!" To "SEE!!!" "HAPPENING!!!" To the VALENZUELA FAMILY!!! My surname is "REYES" from my "BIO. DAD" 😁 My heart broke when Irma talked about her brother, "Ritchie Valens" always giving her & her sister, Connie, kisses & hugs! 💋 🤗" I Cried!" This whole life story of "Ritchie Valens" & The Family! IS SOOO SAD!!! AND SOO GUT-WRENCHING!!! 😭 😭 GOD BLESS THIS "FAMILY". "RIP" 🕊️ "Ritchie Valens! & "Connie (Reyes) Valenzuela" & "Roberto (Bob) Reyes Morales" 🕊️ With So Much Love, 💗😘 🤗 Della R. 💋

      How so? If they had all survived the airplane crash and lived at the end of the movie? Your a douche.

    Why are you bringing up politics....If the people from Mexico or any other country come here LEGALLY there is no problems. I grew up in El Paso Tx area and many many great Mexican friends but laws are laws. I wanted to see this interview but you ruined it by doing that.
