funch - Terry’s voice was amazing (and my favorite!) but he was not always “gravelly”. His voice is smooth in “Color My World” and heavenly in “Wishing You Were Here”. He was very versatile in his vocal style and extremely talented. Miss him terribly.
This song is a bitch to learn lmao, I've learned the keys, guitar and bass, but those fucking drums and horns are probably beyond my ceiling of ability.
Chicago Band! Their original horn section kicks ass! Wonderful singer and the band gives full support of it all! Thanks for the song - ""Does Anyone Know What Time It Is?"" Only in America to get the best!!! Edmondo ( etsonggalaxy)
Im only 3 and ive been listening to this music all my life. Ever since i became self-aware that i exist as a human being, i have known this song. My mom said my dad played it as we drove home from the hospital the day i was born. No wonder im such an intelligent 3 year old! But the point is, that I am the youngest one here who enjoys this music, therefore, I WIN.
Don't be discouraged! It will come if you work at it everyday. I'm reliving my dream of 25 years and at 52 have just joined with a classic rock cover band. We're playing all the old favorites and having so much fun gigging! Keep practicing! It's never too late to learn ANYTHING
And the BEST CYMBALS in HISTORY! Paiste 2002! I should know--I play them! And mine sound exactly like this, every time, everywhere! I am also learning to play trumpet, also re learning keyboard, and restoring a rare model 700 Wurlitzer electric piano from 1959. I will also dabble in trombone, flugelhorn (like the trumpet), piccolo trumpet (difficult!!!!!), and maybe even some electric guitar, all at 47 years old. My most accomplished instrument, self-taught? The drums! And I'm also an incomplete paraplegic in a wheelchair---use s special heel operated bass drum pedal to play, and can basically still kick ass! Music is the biggest love of my life, and I cannot imagine life without music! I love my classic rock, but also love jazz, country, classical, whatever! To that, I'll add that I met the incredible Chris Botti TWICE and he autographed my horn TWICE! Also met Arturo Sandoval and got his autograph on his CD (didn't bring my horn that night and regret it--otherwise his autograph would also be on my horn!--Now I want to meet my inspiration to take up this beautiful instrument--the incredible, wonderful, magnificent HERB ALPERT!) Chicago is one hell of a band, and I just saw them for the seventh time at SPAC in Saratoga, NY a few nights ago! Great show with REO Speedwagon! Cheers!
Mmmmmmm 0:15 to 0:26 in, the sweetest cool jazz transition I've ever heard. These guys have chops. Who cares if their later material was pop fluff. Everything they touched with Terry Kath still alive was gold! Chicago forever!!
One of my favorite songs, I saw Chicago about 7 years ago in Green Bay, Wi along with E.W.F it was an awesome concert. However, I was very disappointed in the turn out of people. It has to be very heard for a group to give their all when the venue is not even close to being full. That didn't stop em true professionals. They put on a great show. People have to understand that bands don't always have all the original members, people die, people leave keeping the sound is what matters.
That's The Promoter's Fault But Any Good Musician Know "The Show Must Go On" I'm Quite Sure The Bands Got Paid, The Guys Who Booked Em Probably Took A Loss, Wow I Wish I Cud've Been There I Bet There Was Plenty Of Great Seating Available And Be Able To Hear REAL Music From The Catologues Of Those 2 Groups You Named Are Hundreds Of Songs And With Hits And Platinum and Gold Records These Are Super Groups The Promo Fffd Up But I Bet U All Were Blessed!!!!
I'm 13 and I love Chicago. My dad used to play them on the car radio when I was 4 or 5. I love all old music, like the Bee Gees, the Beatles. I'm grateful that my dad played these songs on the radio, if he didn't i'd be thinking that today's generation of music is the best.
Actually I think the truth is not too many young people look for this stuff or even stumble across it, I was born in 1984, just a pup still, and I love this music and can comment on it with the respect it deserves. Believe me I do cuss quite a bit but know when to mind myself. Great music like this will never die.
My first Chicago concert. Tonight in Ciudad de Mexico - Auditorio Nacional. Been a fan for decades, especially of the original "CTA" songs. Ah well better late than never :-).
Isn’t it amazing that you heard this epic piece in a grocery store?? That just shows how timeless and excellent this band’s music was and still is and always will be. RIP Terry Kath. You are missed.
They were one of the very top American bands in the 1970's So good they played in 1969 at the Fillmore in San Francisco when they first appeared on the scene. Bill Graham only chose the best and he chose them.
Grew up with their music, left it for quite some years and now listening to it again... this is my wake-up music! It makes me smile when I start my day!
So delighted to see CTA get an all-time grant award. This tune, Beginnings & Questions were hits, and Listen, Intro, Purple song close behind. Lamm wrote almost the whole LP - one of the great songwriters of all time
Chicago tonight in Ciudad de Mexico - Auditorio Nacional. Been a fan for decades, especially of the original "CTA" songs. Ah well better late than never :-).
I've been listening to this band since the early 70's and nobody, and i mean nobody can match their talent! Incredible musicians and fantastic songwriters. This band is truly one of a kind. I've seen them in concert 5 times and they never fail to impress. Long live Chicago!!!
Bobby Lamm = HOT These guys are legends in their own time - one of the most magnificent bands ever. They have endured over decades of huge shifts in musical style and will never be outdated. I feel incredibly fortunate to have grown up with their music playing in the background.
I've heard of Chicago, but I've never listened to there songs. I stumbled on this one, flipping through radio stations. I loved it so much, I had to find out who the artist was behind it, which brought me here. If any of their other songs are half as good as this one, I'll have to check them out ;)
#1 FAN Seen them in concert a few weeks ago. Omg..best day of my life. Their music moves you and makes you cry. Robert..GORGEOUS....I would give up anything I have to meet them, no joke. Took 243 photos, some black and white. Hope they still tour 2014 and come back to MICHIGAN. Concert was sold out. Sign said NO camera..then they said to bring out the cameras. I was sooo upset. I used my smart phone. Bought an 80x optical zoom for next time. Listen to them daily as a ritual. LOVE them
This is an amazing performance by Robert Lamm. He is in what a coach would call " the Zone " in this video. Such passion...such perfection! I've seen other performances of this song and they don't even come close!
This band has a message from the Creator to awaken the people before its too late Shalom I send this song to people that our Father has put in my path ❤from Michael a Child of the Creator
No gimmicks, nothing but the MUSIC. Voices, instruments, the beat, MUSIC.
And three strong singers, whether the third was Robert or Bill ... how many bands have had that?
+lakechaney: and Chicago's Terry Kath, who died in '78. The gravelly voiced guy who sang "Make Me Smile" & "Colour My World"
funch - Terry’s voice was amazing (and my favorite!) but he was not always “gravelly”. His voice is smooth in “Color My World” and heavenly in “Wishing You Were Here”. He was very versatile in his vocal style and extremely talented. Miss him terribly.
Heavy Jazz influence, not an easy tune to play. Very talented musicians were Chicago. True classic
This song is a bitch to learn lmao, I've learned the keys, guitar and bass, but those fucking drums and horns are probably beyond my ceiling of ability.
In Highschool ,the music teacher was so cool, he let our marching band play CHICAGO !!!!!!!!!
Are you kidding? Their older songs are timeless! Crowds love the classic songs THE MOST.
I could listen to Robert Lamm's voice all day...
Chicago .... the best band...
Today the magic and raw talent seems to be missing. What a group..What a song!
+TheRudydog1 Not seems ...Is missing .
@@bat2185 Exactly.
STILL ❤️ LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!
Pathetic
Pathetic
Robert Lamm is one of the most overlooked and under-rated musicians in pop music. He is a genius.
He has always been one of my favorites…
Definitely check out his solo albums. Most of them are excellent.
Nothing beats a Robert Lamm Classic!!!!!
Love those horns. Oh and the piano too.
One of the greatest bands of all time;
Chicago Band! Their original horn section kicks ass! Wonderful singer and the band gives full support of it all! Thanks for the song - ""Does Anyone Know What Time It Is?"" Only in America to get the best!!! Edmondo ( etsonggalaxy)
Great song! One of my life choices.
they play this on Morning Joe all the time when they're going to break. as soon as I heard it I loved it.
One of the greatest bands ever. They don't get enough credit, just a great down to earth band.
Im only 3 and ive been listening to this music all my life. Ever since i became self-aware that i exist as a human being, i have known this song. I love this jazzy version of this song . So cool hey that's whats up.
one of the best brass sections
Collins has a great brass section but I don't think it best this..
Tower of Power still has the best horn section!
Don't be discouraged! It will come if you work at it everyday. I'm reliving my dream of 25 years and at 52 have just joined with a classic rock cover band. We're playing all the old favorites and having so much fun gigging! Keep practicing! It's never too late to learn ANYTHING
another timeless classic
forever a fantastic song
lol I wish they made more than they did back then

The horns. The arrangements. The lyrics. The songs. What is Hall of Fame. Chicago.
Magnificent Masterpiece from Master Musicians
I'm in my 60s and nothing makes me feel the 70s more than this it's a beautiful feeling.
Man, I am so glad my dad had me growing up listening to classics like this!
This will always be one of my favorite songs. It may be the most perfect song of all time.
I don't know why..but everytime this song comes on in the car..I go CRAZY...Love it...and that horn section..DAMNNNNNNN!
wat he means is "why rush through life?" and thank u Mrs.Mac 4 letting us play this!!
Love this song the good old days.
Mmmmmmm 0:15 to 0:26 in, the sweetest cool jazz transition I've ever heard. These guys have chops. Who cares if their later material was pop fluff. Everything they touched with Terry Kath still alive was gold! Chicago forever!!
InflatablePlane, Is that Terry Kath singing? Oh, is Robert Lamm.
I really like to cut loose to this band and a few others. this song, to me, is a reminder to cut loose and forget about time once in a while.
Old Chicago is the best...............listen to there older stuff it had heart
Another great Chicago Video - loved them and Blood Sweat and Tears. Very talented musicians.

I was at their concert years ago, great times and great music.
Robert lamm . A true iconic pop star. Met him a couple of times also had a conversation with him over the phone in early 70's. I'm honored!
another great song by a great group.
Actually I think the truth is not too many young people look for this stuff or even stumble across it, I was born in 1984, just a pup still, and I love this music and can comment on it with the respect it deserves. My first Chicago concert. Tonight in Ciudad de Mexico - Auditorio Nacional. Been a fan for decades, especially of the original "CTA" songs. Ah well better late than never :-).
Chicago GREAT intertainment! instrumental ! I STILL ENJOY listening to THEM ! !
I have been to 100s of concerts. I never saw this band & now I really want to.
Seeing Chicago at Lumberjack Days in St. Croix, MN. last month (July 2010) laid down the foundation for me and Randy. I love you, Baby. ;)
I heard this in a grocery store and memorized the lyrics so I could look it up.
Thanks
IronCatfish k ?
Me too all I could remember was "well I was walking down the street one day"
Isn’t it amazing that you heard this epic piece in a grocery store?? That just shows how timeless and excellent this band’s music was and still is and always will be. RIP Terry Kath. You are missed.
Very fortunate to see them twice back when I was 18-21. Great music & musicians!

We're playing this song, Make Me Happy, and 25 Or 6 to 4 in marching band this year. It's a very Chicago-y year.... :)
Those horns sound so good! Love this song!
Great musicianship. So well-balanced and clean...almost doesn't sound like a live performance.
What a great classic
One of favorites with a great message.. with lyrics that are clear and well enunciated..hint-hit to all the mumblers. ;)
This man gives one of the smoothest, classiest performances I've ever seen!
Chicago's a group I used to listen to when I was in High School and that was a long time ago. They still are really good musicians! Yeah Chicago!
