Wow, Wow, Wow. What a classic song and what a great time in music history to have been there to see this classic performance. And seeing Kath on bass and Cetera on acoustic guitar is priceless. So many talented musicians and singers Chicago had. Man we had so many great artists and music from that era. I'm so blessed to have been a kid in the 70's growing up listening to all of that great music and seeing it performed in real time as it was all so fresh. And today this' still sounding great. I knew this was a Chicago recording, I just never knew it was the Beach boys on the harmonies. Of course I should have known, because the Beach Boys had their very own sounding harmonies. Thanks for posting this classic. Peace out.
What I love most about his performance, other than just the sheer perfection of it all, is how after every line sung by Terry Kath. Every time he finishes his verse, he turns his back to the crowd and towards the Beach Boys. It shows a great amount of respect towards the three guys. It's like he was deflecting attention from himself and towards them .
Terry Kath was never given the credit he deserved as being one of the very best of the best guitarist in the world. Jimmy Hendrix once said: "Terry is far superior to me,"and as a guitarist myself, for over 50 years, I totally agree! RIP Terry.
Terry and Hendrix were good friends also. Good show on AXS about Terry's daughter searching for stories about her father she never got to really know. I think he died in 1978 at the tender age of 32. Keifer Sullivan married Terry's X-wife and help raise his daughter.
@Erik T almost agree. It is one of his most brilliant pieces. He has written quite a few stunning songs. Stay the Night was hot. Along Comes a Woman. and then those phenomenal ballads that captivated the world for two decades.
Thanks for this upload! the BB, in particular early Brian and always Carl, had vocals pretty wired - pitch, key, harmonies the whole shebang. It's not easy to stand toe to toe with vocals like theirs. Then enter Terry Kath. I have to believe everyone on stage was thinking Terry sounded like a perfect angel, which he surely did. It's difficult to comprehend it's the same voice as the one of '70 live Tanglewood belting out "Make Me Smile" (my present favorite go-to among TK performances).
This is a good, solid song. Love Terry and Peter..... but, WITHOUT CARL DEAN WILSON on backing vocals, it’s just another song.... Carl makes it ( and everything he sings) ethereal. 🌹
In the early days, Brian wrote songs about Dennis's experiences, and Carl sang them. There was that weird bit about their "cousin," but it seems Mikey is still around. Of all the Beach Boys, I think I miss Carl the most. (Well, like my ex wife, I've been missing Mikey, with every round so far.) steve
Those are pepper grinders, duh. You can really hear that pepper shake. Shout out to the Beach Boys who appeared on the original recording, they were at Caribou Ranch when this was recorded and sang backing harmonies along with Cetera.
One of the greatest live performances ever. How can you go wrong with Terry Kath, Peter Cetera, Chicago and The Beach Boys singing back-up harmony? Great talent.
I was 10 when I heard it for the first time on the school bus and thought wow, that is such a pretty song. Yes, school buses in my neck of the woods back then played radio. It obviously did something good coz I don't remember a single disturbance between kids. We were very calm and laid back.
I believe Jimi Hendrix himself, after listening to the guitar solo on 25 Or 6 to 4, was quoted as saying something along the lines that he (Hendrix) thought Terry Kath was one of the best guitar players he had ever heard. Pretty impressive statement coming from one of the WORLDS BEST guitar player!
A really good reason to live in the past. Another one of the coolest things the Beach Boys ever did. Awesomeness at its finest, plus a lot of memories.
Kenneth Kiser . Yu are so right- I thought I was very odd living in the past- now I know why - it’s because of the music back then. Nothing compares to it now. I’m just sad thinking that when all us boomers die, the music will die with us.
Married 2 years, pregnant with my first child and up watching New Year's Rocking Eve as 1974 turned into 1975, falling even more in love with Terry Kath. And I remember telling my husband that across the couch. He wasn't too worried but oh my God - that voice.
This song is a very good one describing the loneliness many actors and singers face. They have to travel far away from loved ones, because of their work. A very nice lamentation. Describes very well the nostalgia one feels when alone and apart from friends and family.
They really were a classy band back then. They were fortunate to have the talent and vocals of Peter & Terry. Those two really defined Chicago back in the 70's.
The band that every middle school and HS music teacher in America loved. There was so much to teach and understand about music by studying their melodies, harmonies and arrangements.
This song was a HUGE hit that year, and I watched them do this live. I didn't know the Beach Boys sang on this record, and being a big Beach Boys fan, sat there stunned watching this performance. That night was pure magic. They stole the whole show.
suki44883 Peter by no means "sucks" in this clip. Yes, Chicago made a decision to keep making a living instead of sticking with their 70s sound forever. I can hardly blame them for choosing not to go broke, even if I prefer the late 60s/early 70s sound. Today, there is a lot more room for variety on the radio, but in the 70s & 80s & 90s, there wasn't, and if Chicago hadn't changed, it would have been a has-been band like Blood, Sweat, & Tears. Cetera's voice & bass were phenomenal in every era, regardless of the style to which he applied them, even the sappy ballad-y 80s.
Absolutely agree. And he's still vertical! He is at the top of the list with Baker, Bonham, Buddy, Garibaldi, Louie, Porcaro, Purdy, Vinnie etc. Arrange the list how you like it, but Danny's on it.
Not funny in comments relating to shooting oneself with a gun Happens too many times and circumstances. Families and friends have to live with the loss.
It is amazing how great this sounded live, Cetera cracked a little but that was it, it sounded as good as the record. The Beach Boys are just pros and Chicago then was amazing live. Terry sounded and looked great too.
A classic, unforgettable, hauntingly beautiful song. I'm 55, and until today I did not know that the back-up vocals were performed by my favorite band of all time, The Beach Boys. It's so obvious; I should've known. A work of mutual admiration, I'm sure. What a beautiful collaboration!
+Scott Hamilton Can't say Beach Boys were my fav, but still always loved them.. still never knew they backed up this song. But yes, should have known.. that's their sound for sure!
I believe I can hear him on the harmony below Cetera, the "oooh's" around 0:46 to 0:51 and 2:04 to 2:10. Not so much on my crappy computer speakers but in the car :)
One of the best soft rock songs out there - I remember when it was on the radio. It brings back memories...hearing Rock music on FM was still relatively new then. Thanks for this great video.
always have adored this song..... I was babysitting on this night when it was on TV,,,,, I remember Terry Kath's tux.... and how handsome he was ........... the Beach Boys add that sultry harmonies...... Terry Kath,,,, man,,,, RIP.......
Nice song and one I always have liked to hear as it is a very good lamentation. Life has its sad parts too and this song describes very well the loneliness one feels when apart of friends and family.
Wow, what an amazingly beautiful voice Terry had. I never knew he could sing so smoothly and play bass as well as lead guitar. Also, you have to admit he cleans up nicely when he wants to. Thanks for an enlightening and mesmerizing upload!
That lead singer is Terry Kath. Peter Cetera wrote this song and Terry sings it so beautifully, it just makes me swoon! The Beach Boys oohing in the background is the icing on the cake. This show was Dick Clark's Rockn New Years Eve tv show.
Kingtaken You might want to look some faces up yourself. This is Terry Kath: t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS1IGChIjGR7p0IMwqDgcr94lf5Bm30r1lJNVYmoTO7mGZpVB5_ and this is Robert Lamm: t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQHkKRyT55uA9lp63e4mGSPTBpNdcY6BtZHjcMOe4lNxYK7ZZec. Not entirely identical. Their vocal quality is not the same, either. It's Terry Kath singing.
There shouldn't be any 'Thumbs Down',,Probably some young jerk with no ear for great music..I posted some of Kath's guitar solo's with Chicago,,as I'm in a guitar group discussion. There were a lot of negative comments I didn't believe I heard..I'm 66 and guess if you didn't grow up with these guys you may not appreciate them..No,not your average rock band,,rock band with a lot more taste and ingenuity..Young punks who think they're musicians..A true gentleman and artist doesn't make derogatory comments about others taste..
Randy Hayes I still listen to my Chicago CD every time I get into my car as their sound is very beautiful and unique and the horns give it all the more power!!!
I get a kick out of Peter's smile and signal to Al Jardine before he starts his vocal solo. They obviously discussed something before it. On a different note. Terry and Carl. Two of the greatest of their era. I am really wishing you were here.
Jeff Mayo He looked so healthy I don’t get how bad he looked in previous and later concerts......so sad I didn’t know about him til recently and I’m 50
He looked happy. From what I read by the time he died he was quite unhappy with so much touring, the direction of their music and having to play the same riffs at each concert, not being able to do as much experimental stuff--having to make the hits for AM radio. And the drugs. So very sad.
Dammit Terry, playing with guns, wtf bro? You're freeehand picking on electric was Hendrix-esc.... such a waste.... at least the Beach Boys got some glory here...rip Terry...
What kind of dumbfuck would point a gun at his head saying there's nothing in it, without first examining the chambers. And who doesn't know you don't go near guns, heavy equipment, or knives, when you're drunk. That poor guy who was with Terry and had to witness him blowing his brains out. That's enough to send anyone to the psych ward.
@Eileen McCombs, you're mistaken. Terry is singing lead on this song and playing bass. James William Guercio is playing guitar and Peter Cetera, their usual bass player is also playing guitar and singing the middle eight. The Beach Boys' harmonies are amazing and to this day are spoken about amongst the group's early die-hard fans as being magnificent. Bobby Lamm didn't in this or any Chicago song ever play bass. He always did and still does play keyboards.
From a time in popular music where the musicians actually were displaying amazingly complex melodies and harmonies that took years of practice to refine. Compare this with the empty monotonic dribble that dominates 98% of todays popular music. Today if you're cute then the music industry will bend over backwards to try to mold your career - the music has become secondary to the star power formula .... pity.
I love this version of the song with all singing together. The song reminds me of my children who live in different states away from me. Love and miss you Jessie & Will!
Loved it! Terry kath had such a soulful voice. And if you wanna see some of his guitar exploits, just youtube the live version of 25 or 6 to 4. His guitar solo is heavenly!
It seems incredible over forty years have passed since this song was released but it is still good to hear. It is such a good song it does not get outdated and its message is very good and still true. Nice to hear and enjoy as most of the music of this great band.
Wow, All these years of admiration and observation of Chicago's amazing collective of creativity and I just noticed for the 1st time, Terry Kath is playing bass and Peter Cetera on acoustic guitar. So Cool that they swapped for this performance.
appreciate your sentiments. I'm 53 and still cant believe I overlooked stuff like that. I watched that night's awards back and was shocked to see the Beach Boys singing back-up. I love both bands. Peace brother.
The only two people actually singing were Terry and Peter. The rest ( vocals and instruments ) was just play back tracks from the studio recording, at least to my ear.
Dick Clark’s tv shows had the groups’ recorded tracks playing with live vocals too. BBs did it back in the Bandstand days along with all the other artists & groups. I used to watch the live tv then as a kid and compared it to my records and it was the same sound. Doesn’t take away from the fact the music was awesome and you got to see them performing live too.
They cleaned up pretty good. I remember hearing this on the solid state radio around sun rise after being up all night thinking about my best friend's brother, who had lost his life. We were just 9 to 11 y/o kids and he was our protector in the neighborhood. Slammed into an oak tree on a joy ride. I hope Terry made it to heaven, cuz I want to meet him some day.
I keep coming back to this. Even though he plays bass on this song, Terry Kath was a most underrated guitarist and he was the heart and soul of the band Chicago. When he died, they became a slight better version of Air Supply. Then, later, they became the Peter Cetera Orchestra. I MISS TERRY KATH!!!
I took to calling them Peter and the Cetera's. You are correct. The very soul of the group was lost when he killed himself, there's no question about that....
The amazing thing about music, it's a time machine set to rewind. When this song was new on the radio, my heart was broken by a brown eyed girl. When I hear it's haunting melody even today, it all comes back. That's OK though, this is the best rendition of one of my favorite songs. I saw Chicago live in Amarillo Texas in 2018. Robert, Lee, and James are still rockin' like old times with a new bunch of talented guys. Miss you Peter, Danny, Walter, and especially you Terry, you left us way too soon. This is one of your best, it lets us see a different side of you out from behind that raging lead guitar. I'll see you in heaven someday. Peace...Ken

Terry Kath cleans up real nice!
TheNathanScot yes indeed he cleaned up so beautifully that my eyes are stinging!!!!!!!!!!!
He is stunning.
He's so good looking
wow I didnt know He could clean up so well :)
O I Wouldnt Know. I always had my Blue Eyes fixed on Peter= Hottie Blonde! Hes the only reason I ever paid attention to this band- Period
I wish it were still 1974, god how I miss the 70's.....
+CatfishHunter61 If I think of Heaven it would be going back to 1974. No lie.
+Brooke Hanley I'd go back and try to convince Terry Kath to safety check that gun one more time before he pulled that trigger.........
+CatfishHunter61 Me too.
+Brooke Hanley l was born in 72,' l wish I could go back to 72' and be 22 years old and live until 78' , and then start over again etc, etc,.
Amen
RIP Terry ..God knows I love you...what a beautiful man
Terry was great, could sing rock, soul and ballad. He is missed
That's a lot of talent on that stage
Yes indeed!!!!
Terry in a tux. I just don't get any better than that! ♥
nice!
Looked so handsome!
Yes, Terry so sexy and his voice blows me away ,to a place of no return. RIP🎼
Terry Kath is awesome in this song .This is one of my favorites of all time !
He was.
Background vocals on this track always reminded me of a summer wind blowing through sunlit leaves on trees. Absolutely breathtaking performance.
Terry Kath was never given the credit he deserved as being one of the very best of the best guitarist in the world. Jimmy Hendrix once said: "Terry is far superior to me,"and as a guitarist myself, for over 50 years, I totally agree! RIP Terry.
Del Curry my favorite Chicago member
Your son can sure shoot the rock, as you could too. Oh, that's probably a different Del Curry
Terry and Hendrix were good friends also. Good show on AXS about Terry's daughter searching for stories about her father she never got to really know. I think he died in 1978 at the tender age of 32. Keifer Sullivan married Terry's X-wife and help raise his daughter.
Huvh loss. Playing stupid with a gun
Hugh
This song has an awesome bridge. Possibly the best song Peter Cetera has ever written.
@jopageri1964 Only your opinion. I will disagree with you
@Erik T almost agree. It is one of his most brilliant pieces.
He has written quite a few stunning songs.
Stay the Night was hot.
Along Comes a Woman.
and then those phenomenal ballads that captivated the world for two decades.
@@moodylicious TBF Guercio had a lot to do with the success of PC's tunes.
@@jimcameron2511 is that Guercio up there on guitar?? (near the beginiing)....
100% no. Kath's last 2 melancholic lines book-ended this gem.
In the early days, Brian wrote songs about
Dennis's experiences, and Carl sang them.
There was that weird bit about their "cousin,"
but it seems Mikey is still around.
Of all the Beach Boys, I think I miss Carl the
most. (Well, like my ex wife, I've been missing
Mikey, with every round so far.)
steve
Awwwwe Terry Kath was one good looking man! I wasn't even born yet and I appreciate their music!
Most haunting melody ever. Close your eyes and listen. Beautiful!
that guy plays the oversized golden salt shaker like nobodies business

@@brucelanahan5626 Laudir is the technical term for an oversized salt shaker? The things you learn on UA-cam
He got into it!

Those are pepper grinders, duh. You can really hear that pepper shake. Shout out to the Beach Boys who appeared on the original recording, they were at Caribou Ranch when this was recorded and sang backing harmonies along with Cetera.
Love Terry Kath's soft voice.
Beautiful harmony and song.
One of the greatest live performances ever. How can you go wrong with Terry Kath, Peter Cetera, Chicago and The Beach Boys singing back-up harmony? Great talent.
And every single one is PERFECTION! Voices, the harmonies, the looks on their handsome young faces and those formal Tails. Love Terry's new look. 💋😥
I was babysitting this night and remember it like it was yesterday.... I was 11.... love Chicago and Terry Kath!! Chicago music rules my youth!
I Too was 11 . I remember things in my life thru Years and Date's . This was an easy one ! LOL !!
If the babysitter is 11, it’s gotta be the 70s lol.
I was 10 when I heard it for the first time on the school bus and thought wow, that is such a pretty song. Yes, school buses in my neck of the woods back then played radio. It obviously did something good coz I don't remember a single disturbance between kids. We were very calm and laid back.
Is that Terry Kath on vocals? Awesome video, by the way, and thanks for posting it.
Yes Terry Kath (RIP) is doing the lead vocal here. This video has been posted a lot of times and taking away many times too.
This song blows me away. I could listen to it all day long. Rest in peace Terry Kath.
Kath's death leaft a huge emptiness in Chicago's band.
Big time....Terry was the heart and soul of that band and not too shabby of a guitar player either!
LOL...king of the understatement!
Turboroybal Yep
All of them are irreplaceable really as they are unique with special talents very hard to find somewhere else in another person. Regards.
A really good reason to live in the past. Another one of the coolest things the Beach Boys ever did. Awesomeness at its finest, plus a lot of memories.
This songs has a strong Beach Boys vibe.
Kenneth Kiser . Yu are so right- I thought I was very odd living in the past- now I know why - it’s because of the music back then. Nothing compares to it now. I’m just sad thinking that when all us boomers die, the music will die with us.
@@darlenejeanson7131 Yep. It was a nice blessing in life for all of us to enjoy.
The past is the best.
Wishing Terry Kath was still here. Rest in peace my brother🖤
Married 2 years, pregnant with my first child and up watching New Year's Rocking Eve as 1974 turned into 1975, falling even more in love with Terry Kath. And I remember telling my husband that across the couch. He wasn't too worried but oh my God - that voice.
Patti O'Brien very vividly painted memory. Thanks, hope u guys are still at it.
Amazing time in life, when i hear Chicago on radio takes me back to a world gone away, Old Days, good times I remember!
This song is a very good one describing the loneliness many actors and singers face. They have to travel far away from loved ones, because of their work. A very nice lamentation. Describes very well the nostalgia one feels when alone and apart from friends and family.
True!!!!
Carl Wilson his harmonies ,THE BEST
The unspoken hero of the Beach Boys!
Agreed!!
The salt shaker dude rocks!
Jeff Mayo he's Laudir de Oliveira.. Amazing percussionist
Thanks..BTW..I was funning a bit with that. Hope no one is offended.
They really were a classy band back then. They were fortunate to have the talent and vocals of Peter & Terry. Those two really defined Chicago back in the 70's.
SHARON LAFOREST
Dont forget Robert Lamm
@@fattburger6801 exactly, the dude wrote many of their iconic songs and is a great singer as well.
I was today years old when I learned the Beach Boys sang background vocals on this song!! And I'm a Beach boys fan!
Chicago with Peter Cetera and the Beach Boys - can't imagine being lucky enough to have been at this concert!
In tuxes and sea captains' suits, to boot!
Peter Cetera sucks. Terry Kath was the heart and soul of Chicago. After he died, they turned into a slightly better version of Air Supply.
suki44883 Are you on drugs?
suki44883 Well, not terrible in the mainstream the went to, but comparatively versus what they were, not very good.
suki44883 Peter by no means "sucks" in this clip.
And once again, Danny Seraphine plays the perfect drum part for the song.
Never got his due
@@mexxbone he burned out eventually. Or at least that is what the other members of Chicago think.
Absolutely agree. And he's still vertical!
He is at the top of the list with Baker, Bonham, Buddy, Garibaldi, Louie, Porcaro, Purdy, Vinnie etc. Arrange the list how you like it, but Danny's on it.
and to think He was fired from the band OMG

Happens too many times and circumstances. Families and friends have to live with the loss.
It is amazing how great this sounded live, Cetera cracked a little but that was it, it sounded as good as the record. The Beach Boys are just pros and Chicago then was amazing live. Terry sounded and looked great too.
This is simply mesmerizing.
This is one of the most beautiful song ever written.Great job Peter.
+Anna Guz Music will never sound like this again.
Peter,,Terry is awesome
He didn't write this song
I thought he wrote it. I heard it WAS NOT a Beach Boys song at all though it could pass for one.
Peter Wrote it. Beach boys were at the Caribou Ranch when Chicago recorded this song and they were on the original recording
Terry Kath vocals, heaven!
like terry amazing...
Scott Hamilton Yeah like on Rock and Roll Lullaby by BJThomas
Scott, if you listen close you can also hear Carl Wilson on the backing vocals on "Baby What a Big Surprise."
Nice. But what's the time code on that? I'm not catching it. Thanks.
I believe I can hear him on the harmony below Cetera, the "oooh's" around 0:46 to 0:51 and 2:04 to 2:10. Not so much on my crappy computer speakers but in the car :)
Beautiful song. I love it. Reminds me of those I've lost close to my heart. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays. 🌲
Real cats playing music. What a concept. Live. No overdubs. No cutting and pasting. No nothing. Just killer musicians kicking ass.
One of the best soft rock songs out there - I remember when it was on the radio. It brings back memories...hearing Rock music on FM was still relatively new then. Thanks for this great video.
Deep, great memories of a great place in time Fall 1974. Great era. Takes me right back.
That's what good music doesThat's why this is so important.

I love this band “CHICAGO,” since I came to this country, I felt I loved with its beautiful melodies. Thanks Chicago. 🌹😘🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌷
Welcome to The States. Chicago was a great group. Miss the 70s I'd go back to 1974, 19 yrs old and a Corporal in the US MARINE CORPS.
The original band's name was Chigago Transit Authority.Come to think of it: way back then there was also a group named Pacific Gas & Electric.
Where r u from sweetie?
Where r u from, your easy on the eyes and are soulful
You are gorgeous
Amazing performance!! Terry Kath is still amazing and HOT!
Ps

Wow, what an amazingly beautiful voice Terry had. I never knew he could sing so smoothly and play bass as well as lead guitar. Also, you have to admit he cleans up nicely when he wants to. Thanks for an enlightening and mesmerizing upload!
My favorite all time "Chicago" song aided by the best harmonizing band of all time, "The Beach Boys." What a classic!
+Peter Crocker One of the best vocal arrangements EVER!! So smooth, so beautiful...
Absolutely!! This song would not be as beautiful and haunting without the Boys on it. A shame Brian isn't on it.
That lead singer is Terry Kath. Peter Cetera wrote this song and Terry sings it so beautifully, it just makes me swoon! The Beach Boys oohing in the background is the icing on the cake.
This show was Dick Clark's Rockn New Years Eve tv show.
ditto :)
It is Alan, Carl and Mike only of the Beach Boys, but anyway they make this a wonderful song! I love Terry Kath, he was the soul of Chicago!
That is not Terry but Robert Lamm.. Look his face up on the net...

Randy Hayes that is truth.
I get a kick out of Peter's smile and signal to Al Jardine before he starts his vocal solo. They obviously discussed something before it. On a different note. Terry and Carl. Two of the greatest of their era. I am really wishing you were here.
They toured together in 74 or 75. I saw them in the old Foxboro Mass. Stadium. They played seperate sets and also combined for a few songs.
Ha... The Beach Boys wearing suits from the Thurston Howell collection.
LOL!
blueticecho ha ha, I think that's their Sail on Sailor look.
omg loool
British Naval Officer Unis. Very cool for the time and circumstance I think. Seems like a sea-faring song from a lonely partner waiting at home.
The "3 hour tour" collection
Terry Kath never looked better
Gorgeous man!
Terry looked so good, sounded phenomenal, a legendary performer, 41 years in Heaven
Good, good stuff! What a combination of two popular bands and the blend of the voices are tops. Wishing Terry Kath was still here!
Dammit Terry, playing with guns, wtf bro? You're freeehand picking on electric was Hendrix-esc.... such a waste.... at least the Beach Boys got some glory here...rip Terry...
Scott Webb yup what a waste!!!!
Yes guns, drugs &/stupidity don’t mix. This was such a beautiful song.
Did they write this in "the Spooky Key"? this whole song has an eerie sound to it which I like! at times gives you the chills!!! NICE!
Always loved this song from 2 of the greatest groups.
His guitar solo is heavenly!
this is what true talent sounds like! RIP Terry Kath
It seems incredible over forty years have passed since this song was released but it is still good to hear. It is such a good song it does not get outdated and its message is very good and still true. Nice to hear and enjoy as most of the music of this great band.
I don't think the audience appreciated what they got to witness.
Wow, All these years of admiration and observation of Chicago's amazing collective of creativity and I just noticed for the 1st time, Terry Kath is playing bass and Peter Cetera on acoustic guitar. So Cool that they swapped for this performance.
I will continue to love Terry kath forever
I can't believe I'm 43 and didn't know the Beach Boys did the back up vocals on this song!! And now I can't unhear them...how did I miss this?!
+Mike Tabor What's funny is that I always thought it was a Beach Boys song.
+Mike Tabor I didn't know either and I'm 52! I also didn't know Terry Kath played bass and that Cetera played acoustic on this track.
+John Kolden Cetera penned the tune and wanted to play lead. Kath was relegated to bass.
Me too..Totaly missed that one.
appreciate your sentiments. I'm 53 and still cant believe I overlooked stuff like that. I watched that night's awards back and was shocked to see the Beach Boys singing back-up. I love both bands. Peace brother.
How about the great Terry Kath putting down his guitar and kicking a$$ on bass! Not to mention I fu$%^&* love his vocals in this!
Every time I watch this video I have to admire how handsome Terry is in that tux. A life ended way too soon.
SHARON LAFOREST unbelievably hot and sexy!!!!!! What a waste!!!!!
What a Pathetic Comment (you made) . . .

Peace...Ken
