Hello everyone. Thanks so much for watching my green beans casserole video. We love this version and we know you will love it also. Leave a comment below and let me know how you feel about green beans combined with mushrooms. Are you a lover or a hater? -Joey
I like the mushrooms diced and totally cooked too.
Hello from thanksgiving, can confirm I’m making this today (but with one change, the store bought French-fried onions, it’s a holiday, we can eat a little off diet!)
With all of the mushroom recipes, isn't it time to just admit you like them? 🤣
OMG, just in time for me to put on my Thanksgiving menu. Thank you so much for this delicious looking recipe. Can't wait to try with my garden beans!
Good video Joey 👍Gary
This is totally the bomb and worthy of a holiday! But I'd be tempted by it as a main dish any day over a baked potato or rice! Ooh my partner just headed to the store were having this for supper tonight with our own pasta primavera!!!
Another awesome and amazing recipe from the plant base Dad's thank you so much for sharing and ALL the work you do to help US BEGINNERS AWESOME 👍
wow looks so good. going to make this - in May!
Wow! That recipe looks incredible! I know you don’t like the texture of mushrooms but they add so much flavor. What an awesome take on the traditional green bean casserole! Thank you for putting on all that work to create this one. It looks so delicious!
Made it today. Mine was a little dry. Maybe half the amount of beans next time. Taste was good. Nice change.
Thanks!
Thanks so much Michele. If you have not made this recipe yet, its is really good. We made it again for Thanksgiving but we like to double the sauce part of it. Let me know what you think of it.
A 'hot dish' just in time for Thanksgiving, Yay! Great idea to use the PB2 cashew powder for a cream sauce. I am so going to use that idea. Thank you Joey and Tim. You inspire me.
I can't wait to make this. The one I used to make had a real cream sauce (not soup) and was topped with fried shallots. This will be my new go to. Thanks.
Oh gosh I'm drooling. Can't wait to try this!
That looks yummy! Can’t wait to try!🙂
Wow! This looks delicious! Thanks for the recipe and the video, Joey!
Good recipe Joey. Thanks for sharing.
Looks so delicious!!
Just woah !!!!
This recipe is totally a game changer !!! Absolutely love these vegies n flavours together.
Thank you !!!!
I love it too
Looks delicious!
Good morning
That look so good I will make it later
Very funny vid👍
Thanks Alen!
Hi Joey. I don't know if you'll see this months later (I'm new to your channel), but have you ever considered a traditional, more summer-y green bean concoction of Green beans, boiled new potatoes and (Oil-free) pesto? It'd probably be good sprinkled with some nutritional yeast.
Sounds amazing
Thanks for the recipe! Looks delicious, I’m definitely making this for thanksgiving. Can you tell me how much cashews to use if I don’t have the powder? Thanks for all your videos and recipes! ❤️ from Canada.
Nicole, its 1/2 cup cashews (soaked for 30 mins and drained) and 1/2 cup water blended together to form the cashew creme
@@PlantBasedDads Thank you!!
Wondering if there’s a difference in the grittiness between grinding whole cashews and the pb powder? Did you notice any difference?
None. I make sure that the cashews are creamy and that the cashew powder is creamy. I will use the stick blender on the powder and water if I have to.
Here in Germany I can't find
PB2 Cashew Powder
So can you recommend a ratio
of cashews to water.
I make a creamy cashew mix
with between one to one
and two to one ratios
water to cashews.
I use cashew cream
with some Indian dishes
and it is delicious.
Hi John, how the heck are you? You can use 1/2 cup cashews to 1/2 cup water. Soak the cashews for about 2 hours, drain them and blend them in 1/2 cup water. It should make a really nice cashew cream.
@@PlantBasedDads
Thanks for the ratio - I was going to do 1-to-1 as a starting point anyway.
Re: me - I had a flare up of my
autoimmune disease called
myasthenia gravis
and one of the weird problems I developed
was an inability to chew food
and I lost 20 kg (44 pounds)
in 2 months
I was hospitalised for two weeks
(the vegan menu which was "Menü 2"
after the meat menu and above the
"special menu" for heart patients
was delicious.)
I was put on a cocktail of drugs with loads of side effects including:
diabetes - blood sugar levels through the roof
neuropathy in the feet and hands
heart racing
and hyperactivism
(as I joked in German to the doctor
it was like the hamster wheel in my head was revving 24 hours a day)
So fortunately that medication has been reduced
and the one which induced the diabetes
has been eliminated.
I still have the edema in the feet and ankles
but that is going.
Unexpectedly my blood sugar levels
on a Whole Food Plant Based diet
have dropped so I am not taking as much
medication for the diabetes
as I was before the flare up.
Hope you are well.
What type of mini chopper is Tim using?
Pampered Chec
I wonder if I use the peanut butter powder.........
It will have a peanutbutter taste. The cashew powder has a neutral taste
I’ve substituted cashew for pb2 with success before and it didn’t taste peanuty to me. I just can’t justify buying a tub of cashew powder from amazon which is £10 when I’ve got a full pb2 container to use up. Money’s tight.
"And the mushrooms"?? The mushrooms are the best part! So expensive though
Phillip, I tolerate them . Thats about it .
I can justify splurges like asparagus and mushrooms cuz I no longer eat meat, fish, or dairy. I deserve to treat myself to great food!!!
@@Buttercup1075 takeout and ready meals are the most expensive though ,(I don't eat that stuff but I have family who does) Some of those ready meals like Amy's and Lean are $6+ a box and only around 300 calories so a normal per
person eating 2400 kcal a day would need eat eat 8 of them if that's what your living off
