There is a restaurant in Tempe, AZ called pomegranate cafe - fantastic food and bakery. Plus they have eco friendly mech to purchase! I also love Uprooted Kitchen in Gilbert, AZ…mom and pop joint all fresh ingredients, weekly menu and fantastic desserts!-try their sourdough French toast (served with homemade yogurt, jam and fresh fruit)-amazing! Love you guys!

Hi Pam. We love the Pom!!!! Haven't been there in a few years as we are in north Phoenix so Ahwatukee and Gilbert are too far for us to go normally. But I need to get back there again for sure.

I was born and raised in Tucson, but moved away many years ago, so was delighted to watch this video! I had no idea Tucson had any vegan restaurants, so thank you so much for this video! Will visit some of these when we go visit family in the spring. Loved this episode.

Great review on the restaurants Tim and Joey! My husband was born in Tucson but moved to California when he was a baby. I think we need to take a little trip there to check out some of those restaurants. . Those tacos @Tumerico looked amazing and that French toast at the Deli Yum!! Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you get that invite from HCH!

Oh my, Guys ... We moved to Tucson from IL in 2008 since going vegan 10 years ago we don't eat out. My husband just drove the 1st truckload of our household out of the driveway today headed for our move back to IL and now I see this video. So happy to know but so sad :(

If my son had to move so far, I’m glad he moved to such a plant forward city. I’ve visited all except Tumerico. Will definitely try on my next trip to Tucson. Beaut Burgers and Gavinda’s are some favorites.

Sounds like a lot of potential ideas for future Plant Based Dads recipe videos. Either recreating or transforming some of those dishes.

Thanks for the video. My husband and I go to two Mexican restaurants for vegan dishes. One is a veggie enchilada dish, one is a plate of vegetables over rice. Jim gets a bean and rice burrito that is huge. At one restaurant, they specifically list a fajita vegetarian. I opt out of the cheese of course. The other place we occasionally get something vegan from is Papa Murphys. They have vegan cheese that we tried and hated it. So we just get a loaded veggie pizza, about once every other month, and have pizza with a rainbow salad. There is a Mongolian bowl place I need to look up the menu for. I remember eating at a place in downtown Denver that I could get lots of veggies in that bowl. We are finding options in standard restaurants. For example, Olive Garden choose your pasta and get extra marinara sauce on it. I've had broccoli with mine. I also order the minestrone soup. We dine out less than once a week but let me say it is a treat not to have to slice and dice and cook.

I am a big fan you guys! I am in Tucson and loved this episode. Thanks for talking about the amazing food we have in Tucson. Choice greens is one of favorite restaurant. Next time try Goodness cafe and Charo vida. I have tried the 10 veggie soup, squash bake and love it.

I live in Tucson and agree with your foodie critiques. You guys are spot on with each location. I love, love the spaghetti at Lovin' Spoonfuls. Next time try Govinda's for their remarkable vegan buffet for lunches and dinners. I am a 90 percenter myself and also suggest the three veg burgers at Midtown Deli. Their French Fries and Onion Rings are to die for. I gave up on Choice Greens after a watery salad once but going back now for that butternut squash salad with the raspberry dressing on the side. Tucson is a designated UNESCO Culinary Heritage City. Agriculture has been practiced here for centuries. Now I know what to order at Tumerico, thanks. I live 5-15 minutes from each of these restaurants and appreciate your video. We have several regular restaurants that have great vegan offerings, use only healthy oils if at all and are of consistant quality. I am originally from the West Coast so spoiled with choices. Sauce, has a remarkable baby arugula, cranberry with quinoa salad and Flower Child 's salads are both a two minute walk from Lovin' Spoonfuls on N. Campbell, our local Restaurant Row area.
. My BFF Tucson Neighbor and I hit the great salad bar at Jason:s Deli on the Eastside just today for $11.
My BFF in Hawaii just sent me this so ya got another happy subscriber. Come on back up the hill guys anytime. You could do another video on Vegan Seekers at Regular Restaurants in Tucson. TY.

Chef Wendy of Tumerico is AHmazing. Her food tastes so light (even tho she uses oil) because she actually strains the food to get rid of the excess oil. I crave her creations but it’s too dangerous to go too often 😂

This looks like the old Fifth Street Deli - Jewish deli (last one standing?) Wonderful to see how things have turned around. Even religious Jews, many of whom live in this neighborhood, can shop here, as everything is kosher! 🥗 🥦 🥕 🌵

What a wonderful get-away you both had! Joey, see Jackfruit is good! I love my Jackfruit Tuna Salad that my husband and I make. The hotel looked fabulous and the food….OMGosh. I could have eaten everything on the menu. Did any of the restaurants have cookbooks out? Those tacos looked so good I wanted one right now. Did you ask what the ingredients were in the Raspberry Salad Dressing? Did your son stay by himself for the weekend or did he go to your sister’s house Joey? I found when we left for an overnight stay that the boys had people over to stay. 😳 So, we didn’t do that again. Glad you both had fun on your weekend away.

    • @PlantBasedDads

Lexx is fine by himself. He is totally trustworthy. You know, it never occurred to me to ask if the restaurants have cookbooks out. Thats a really good point. I will check next time I go to someplace like that. For the salad dressings, I got the lowest fat dressings, so they probably had some oil in it but I made sure to go with the lowest one out of the vegan ones.
