    Probably, Lex ought to learn to do those things if he doesn't do them already. When my kids went to college, they were amazed at all the people who couldn't take care of themselves. For sure, he should be using a knife at his age. As a Montessori teacher, I taught three-year-olds how to use paring knives and flip pancakes. I love ya, Joey, but it's time to let that almost adult young man become responsible and self-sufficient. I love young-ish teen boys; everything is funny to them. I would buy Joey's cookbook And Lex's learning to cook book. Keep up the silly banter, but...teach that nearly grown young man to take care of his basic needs. He'll be off to college before you know it. Have a lovely day and thanks for the fun video.

      Suzy, you are right, I am a helicopter parent. I am always hovering around him doing anything he needs so he has become accustomed to letting me do that. We are both starting to realize that he will be leaving for college in 2 years and he is missing some very real life skills. So that is a goal for us for the next two years

      @@PlantBasedDads Good for you, Joey! I knew you would do the right thing by this young man. He will thank you for it when he's in college...but next Friday, after he gets over the shock of calling the dentist's office to make his next appointment for the first time, he probably won't thank you. lol You're a good guy. And I'm so grateful that you are getting better.

    My son unloads and loads the dishwasher. Mostly I ask him to unload. Maybe that's a good place to start with household chores. ❤️
    What kind of cleaning does Lex like to do?
    Putting laundry away is another easy thing for kids to learn.

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  2 роки тому +4

      Lexx unloads the dishwasher, takes all the garbage from the house and all the pails out to the curb on garbage night, brings the laundry downstairs on Saturday Mornings, switches the clothes from washer to dryer and dryer to couch, and I think that is it. So he does do chores. But, at his age, I would like him to reheat his own food (I prepared most of it already on Sunday night) and take his folded clothes to his room and put them away. So we are working on that for sure.

      Hello. I did a whole video explaining the difference. You need the tofu from the Asian aisle in the supermarket, not the one from the refrigerated section of the store. The one in the aisle is shelf stable, it doesn't need refrigeration. That one doesn't have that harsh taste to it that the cold one does. it comes in 12.3 oz boxes and the brand is Mori-Nu.
