7.3 PSD have F4, F5, and F6 clusters. Not exactly sure what the year/month breaks are. F4 cluster has the brake diode/resistor in the engine bay wiring harness, F5 and F6 clusters have the resistor and diode on the cluster circuit board. Using the F4 cluster in a later 7.3 will work but the ABS light will be constantly illuminated due to the prove out circuit not being connected. Shift indicators are also transmission specific, I've seen them marked "E4OD" on the non visible part of the legend strip. If you push the "reset" button when turning the key on, the speedometer needle will sweep to max and back to zero, resetting the needle if it's pegged on the right side after installation. Alternatively, drive the truck and get on the highway, once the speed is high enough, the needle will pull into place.
I did forget that the C6 was an option through 1997. There are minor differences in the 7.3 PSD clusters, but all work, and most have the ABS light on anymore because of an ABS failure. Haha. I however didn’t know anything about the ABS circuit missing, but the F4 cluster having that issue makes sense since it would likely be a 94.5 cluster, and they have specific wiring harnesses. Yet another reason to avoid a 94.5 truck. I try to avoid giving speedometer tips like the reset because it can easily be done wrong and they somehow get into the calibration settings.
@@GarrettsOBSGarage I'd love to see a video on calibration settings for the speedos say if your running larger tires or such because my speedo is way off due to my larger tires.
The F4 and F5 will work in your 1994. It would be better to have the F4 just because it would be exactly the same, but the F5 would cause you no issues.
I responded to your other comment in another video, my email is in my about section. Its the channel name @Gmail.com. Go to the main channel page and press "more" if the whole description isn't visible.

@@GarrettsOBSGarage Speedometer calibration should not occur unless the PSOM pigtail on the bottom of the dash is grounded.
@@abpsd73 I’ve seen stranger things. Haha
Super helpful, thanks for the video
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Could you use an f6 diesel panel in a 1996 F-150?
Not really. The fuel gauge says diesel on it and the tach is different. Diesel and gas clusters have always been different as a whole.
I have a 1994 f150, will a F5 cluster work or does it specifically need to be F4

Hey Garrett, looking to get some of your custom rear hinges for my 97 f350, how can I get in contact with you to set this up?

If you’re unable to locate it. Let me know
@@GarrettsOBSGarage I had to view it on the computer to be able to see it but I found it, just sent you an email.
