Boston by Boston is literally the best first album drop of all time. Tom Scholz was an MIT graduate who formed the band. Brad Delp was an iconic rock singer-RIP. So many great songs. Smokin, More than a Feeling, Foreplay/Long Time, Peace of Mind, etc.
Boston is an awesome 70's group, when they hit the scene, they were complete fire and knocked everyone's socks off. We loved their sound. "More Than a Feeling" and "Foreplay/Longtime" are a must! "Peace of Mind", "Rock n' Roll Band", "Hitchin a Ride", "Smokin", etc...! You definitely should go down the rabbit hole.
“ Foreplay / Long time “ by BOSTON will Blow you away! Y’all’s reaction to this song was the same as mine when I first heard it back in the 70s! Enjoy thank you!
This song, and the second Boston album that it’s on, are very good. However, the first album is so much better-it’s next level stuff. And please listen to the studio version of those songs. Thanks!
Hell yeah, can’t wait for Boston; Thanks! Keep going with Boston, Foreplay/Longtime studio version, More than a feeling, I’ll be waiting for those also🙏✌️
Shocked you haven't done Boston before. Great guitar band, and dude has really high vocals. Everyone will tell you, you must react to More Than A Feeling.
Thank you so much. Growing up in the late 80s in high-school, one of my best friends loved to play Boston on his guitar. He was killed by a drunk driver, and I think of him everytime I hear Boston.
Great reaction! Kind of surprised, because most reactors hit More Than a Feeling or Foreplay/Long Time as first reactions. This was the first single and title track off their second album. Like everyone else, the eponymous titled Boston debut album is one of the best, in rock history. Every song, to me, is a must listen. Welcome to a deep dive!
Their drummer, Sib Hassian, is The Rock's father law. Also, I see many comments mentioned their first album, which is awesome, but this is the first track and title track on their second album.
Between their vocal harmonies and their guitar harmonies, you can't go wrong. And Brad Delp had one of the most powerful voices in rock-n-roll history. I was 14 when this was on the radio - I'm 60 now - and Boston songs never get old!
More Than A Feeling and Foreplay/Longtime are AWESOME tracks from the same album. I recommend you do the studio versions, which are amazing for the late 70s! It was good to see a live performance, though.
I remember when this first came out, I was maybe 19 yrs old, maybe 20. I lived out in the Mojave Desert and drove for the first time 'all alone' to Ventura to visit a friend. :D I bought that 8-track and played it all the way there. :D
This a shortened version of the album track (they cut off the last verse entirely) edited to performance footage - which gives the impression that Barry, the rhythm guitarist is singing harmonies. In reality, all the vocal harmonies you hear are actually just Brad, the lead singer. He was an all-timer.
They did themselves a disservice with that radio edit. At your leisure, give the official, full-length album track on their page a listen for the full experience. ❤
Great reaction....Tom Sholz...M.I.T Grad....was working for Polaroid at the time and mixed and recorded and invented guitar effects (still used today) in his basement.
FINALLY FINALLY Thank you guys !!!!! Fore Play / Long Time ! Great song ! Smoking ! Peace of Mind ! More Than A Feeling ! Shit bro the whole dayum album Rocks ! These guys invented the “Air Guitars” you seen in the 80’s ! Look up their bio … sad ending but they laid it down ! They were all studio musicians and they never toured forever and they got a bad rap that they only good play in studio… well they debunked that rumor! Great Job guys love your critiques! Motor City …. Go LIONS !
I’m from Boston and I know you’d like me Boston was a great city when I was growing up I live in Florida now.Boston a great band and Brad Delp was one of the best singers
You can’t go wrong with anything from their self-titled debut album, but they are probably best known for “More Than a Feeling” and “Foreplay/Longtime”
I love Boston's music so much, it's happy and I love to listen while I'm driving! PS It's great cleaning music too! Clean a little, dance a little . . .
Definitely edited out about a third or quarter of the song. Every one of Boston’s “live” performances are actually the studio. I can tell by the vocals and the drums and the overall mix, which always buries Brad’s voice in the mix. Often, in the verses, I have to strain to hear him and get the lyrics. It’s not until he belts it out headed to and into the chorus that I can hear him harmonizing with himself, thereby multiplying his voice to keep up with the instruments. I would love to hear Boston’s music remixed and remastered to boost Brad’s voice a little.
Yes, like the comments are saying, everyone likes Boston....the group! Their first album is amazing! This is my favorite song of theirs but you have to hear their first 2 albums. You will NOT be sorry.
Every song on this debut album was a hit. The next song you should do from this album is called “Smokin” it will put a hitch in yer giddyup!! You guys kill it every time!!
The record company edited out the entire guitar solo outro, among other parts. They butchered it to bring the run time down for heavy rotation on MTV. It's a shame that you guys didn't hear the whole song. Talk about your crescendos - Tom Scholz's guitar solo at the end is SO good. It makes the song.
Back in the DAY man! gotta have the fro! My friend set a dudes hair on fire with her bic lighter in a high school class once.Red fro went up in flames, had a back flat fro after that.
The debut album from Boston is one of the best ever. Their 2nd album “don’t look back” is nearly as good. Dive into this band ! (In spite of your sport hatred 😊) You will love them.
Back in those, I was young and went to every concert. I even saw McCartney, but Boston was the best pound-for-pound concert I've been to. A weird symbiosis between the band and the audience.
MIT Grad, Tom Scholz wrote and played most of the instruments and hired a kickass singer (Brad Delp) to record the whole album in his apartment basement studio. 12 track
"Don't look back" was from the second album. You need to go back to their debut album and one of Rock's all-time best and you can't go any wrong by selecting any one of these 3 incredible melodies: "More than a feeling", the medley "Foreplay/Long time or "Peace of mind". Enjoy!
You should have listened to the album version as it is a bit tighter and a slightly longer version but the overall sound quality of the album was curiously far inferior to their all-time classic debut album simply entitled Boston. Check out every song on the debut LP starting with their biggest radio hit and the first song on the first side of the first album, More Than A Feeling. Tom Scholz' guitar sound is unique and instantly recognizable, Brad Delp's vocals are phenomenal and Scholz' sound mixing and engineering make the Boston sound unique.
As other have mentioned, this is from their second album which has some real good songs on it. But nothing comes close to their debut album; greatest debut album of all time. Every track from that album got radio play. I would definetly start with More Than A Feeling (their biggest hit) but the masterpiece of that album is Foreplay/Long Time. I look forward to more Boston on your channel.
I absolutely love Boston! (Not the city lmao) I was born after their first 3 albums came out but they are my dad's favorite and now my fav. (The drummer is Dwayne The rock Johnsons father in law- RIP Sib Hashian) More than a feeling and foreplay/longtime will blow your mind! (My 11yr olds fav songs lol)
Totally! every song on the album is just fantastic.
That entire album is pure fire.
Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and even The Cars would like a word.
@@sebastianblack6506 The Cars is an underrated debut.
The BEST debut album EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't Look Back was the second album ;-)
Boston not only made the greatest debut album ever but it's also their greatest hits album.
@@barryhickman6911 Boston - Boston was first album ! Still to this day there music still rocks out !
"Foreplay/Long Time" is a must!

The album cover are guitars in the form of space ships .
You kids should go down this rabbit hole! I was in high school when they were on top of the world! Outstanding band!
All Boston songs are great, good harmony & Brad Delp had such a great voice!👍👏👏👏🩵🩵🩵🎉🎉🎉
Don't die without hearing "More Than a Feeling"
Real musical artists and pure talent. I was so lucky to see them live in the 70s.
Boston is like a rock and roll symphony. One of the most amazing bands ever.
1978 and still sounds fresh.
The creation of this album deserves its own movie.
Go Brad Delp! What an awesome singer.❤
I am 68yearsold and this is the way music was so easy to Understand and I have been a Boston fan for over 50years
Shocked you haven't done Boston before.
Sholz wrote that whole album. Played every intrument. Then found a band to play it live. True musical genius.
When we were kids in Boston
This was our jam jr yr high school
Decades later had a gallery in Cambridge. Brad & Tom were patrons .
Great reaction! Kind of surprised, because most reactors hit More Than a Feeling or Foreplay/Long Time as first reactions. This was the first single and title track off their second album. Time for a Boston rabbit hole - an incredibly talented group of all skills! Love the reaction!
Their drummer, Sib Hassian, is The Rock's father law. Also, I see many comments mentioned their first album, which is awesome, but this is the first track and title track on their second album.
Man this is one of the albums that made FM rock radio a thing. The album was seriously bangers from start to finish.
As much as I love the debut LP, this is my favorite song of theirs (although this is a shortened version). One of the best guitar bands of the 70's.
Tom Sholtz didn't invent the pick slides, but he did teach how to use them for the best effect.
Boston Debut Album is the greatest Debut album of all time.Every song is 🔥. This is a great song off their second Album.
Boston were just a great, great band.
I saw them in the 80's and I still have my Boston tshirt. I'm 61
Boston was pure "eargasm" every song. Brad Delp (RIP) one of the best voices in rock.
Please check out "Foreplay/Longtime", "More Than a Feeling" , "Smokin" and "Rock and Roll Band".🎸👍
Foreplay is always followed by longtime.. those two songs are always played in tandem- always!! Every radio station played them back to back
MORE THAN A FEELING!
Between their vocal harmonies and their guitar harmonies, you can't go wrong. And Brad Delp had one of the most powerful voices in rock-n-roll history. I was 14 when this was on the radio - I'm 60 now - and Boston songs never get old!
Their music was an instant hit and some of the best guitar rock ever🎉😂❤
I really enjoy this song, and I have always enjoyed Boston as a group, thanks guys
Saw them as backup band for Blue Oyster Cult… but everyone was there for Boston!!
LOVE Boston! Check out “More than a feeling” and “Smokin” and “Cool the Engjnes”. There are so many good songs by Boston!
More Than A Feeling and Foreplay/Longtime are AWESOME tracks from the same album. I recommend you do the studio versions, which are amazing for the late 70s! It was good to see a live performance, though.
Can't go wrong with any tunes from Boston 👍!
First arena concert I ever went to - Capital Center, Landover, MD 1978. Blew my mind! Wore out this album, and I love Boston to this day.
Capital Center held some of the most legendary concerts - Fenom202
Boston the city ''where everybody knows your name''🎵
Great Cheers reference! But the dislike for Boston remains strong with us!
1st album every song was a hit on the radio.
My first concert. I was 14. I have been chasing the feeling I got that night for the past 50 years. Great reaction!❤❤❤
First 2 albums,Gold!

I wore this album out when I was a teenager, Boston was the Mack daddy of rock bands back then……..
Love Boston, my hometown! Not a bad song on their 1st album. His voice was on another level! Let's go Celtics ❤
This was so dope! We are ready to go down the rabbit hole! The Celtics will always have are sincerest distain!

Definitely the studio sound is superior.
This is the studio version dubed over a live performance video but the sound quality is not good.
