"Who's Crying Now" is a popular rock ballad by the American rock band Journey. It was released as a single in 1981 from their seventh studio album, "Escape." The song was written by Jonathan Cain and Steve Perry, who were members of the band at the time.
"Who's Crying Now" features Steve Perry's powerful vocals and Jonathan Cain's melodic keyboard work. It became one of Journey's biggest hits, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. The song also achieved significant success in several other countries.
The lyrics of "Who's Crying Now" convey themes of heartbreak and resilience in love. It tells the story of a relationship where the love between two people has faded away, leaving one person to wonder who is experiencing the pain of the breakup. Despite the emotional turmoil, the song emphasizes the importance of moving on and finding strength.
The song is known for its catchy chorus and memorable guitar and keyboard solos. It remains a fan favorite and is often performed live by the band. "Who's Crying Now" is considered one of Journey's signature songs and has become a classic rock staple over the years. - Розваги

Steve Perry is the GOAT.
He certainly is!!!
I know some Freddie fans who would argue that.😁
The Voice, the GOAT
After Freddy 🤷
@@inmyhouse11yeah Brad Delp doesn't get near enough credit
STEVE PERRY = No Playback, no Auto-Tune !!!
No doubt.
I recommend any Steve Perry live performance.
And this is LIVE, no auto tune, no redo, just beautifully LIVE. Better than the recording even
Hello Elizabeth,
how're you doing?
Your comments caught my attention
and that is why I am reaching out to you.
It's nice meeting you here.
Steve should be in the R&R Hall of Fame for his solo work! Journey is in but that Voice deserves its own spot!
AMEN
Steve Perry sounds even better live than on the albums and that in its self is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes he was! I saw them twice in the 80s. Wouldn’t pay a penny to see them without Steve!
Yep seen them three times n all were excellent ❤
Yes he does😂🔥🔥🔥
I graduated HS in '83. Journey was HUGE. Steve is special. "Better than the record..." I couldn't agree more. There aren't too many singers you can say that about.
i'm class of 84....music is just not the same anymore
Class of 83 myself. Was fortunate enough to see Journey in concert three times. EPIC.
I graduated 85-86. I ran into Steve Perry in 1982 when I was 15. He grabbed my brother on the top of his head after we got his autograph in downtown Indianapolis and said the following, "This is a brain eater and it's starving".
83'er here! 🙋🏽♀️

Mother Father is the sickest vocal performance by Steve. His voice is so good it almost makes you miss how excellent the rest of the band is.
I was reading a list of all of Journey's songs and they were rated from the worst (No. 173) to the best (No. 1). I didn't recognize any song until Mother, Father and it was rated 138. Then as I continued, I hadn't heard any of the next 80 or so until When You Love A Woman at #49. Maybe I have heard of them but didn't know their names. Anyway, I don't know who comes up with which song is better than another. BTW, Feeling that Way was the No. 1 song. huh???
Mother Father.... still they ride, best ones in my opinion
That - and Lights, Separate Ways (banger!), Girl Can't Help it....there's so much from Journey....
OMG!! So true!! The vocal range is phenomenal!
great song from a great album! i love "Mother Father" from it! i still have the album! it should not matter but i am black!
Steve is ranked one of the greatest singers ever in the history of music
Steve Perry was literally nicknamed "The Voice" in the 80's.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this performance was brought to you without the assistance of autotune.
Journey is one of those bands you can listen to studio version or Live and not know the difference
Love Steve Perry and Journey
Steve is known as The Voice. ❤ His vocal idol is the great Sam Cooke. Listen to Sam singing Cupid and you’ll hear it. They even share a birthday! ❤For a sexier tune- check out any video of them doing “ Lovin , Touchin, Squeezin “!
When guitarist Neil Schon was only 15, he was already playing with Santana!
I've always thought he studied Sam Cookes style. I hear homage to him all the time in his style.❤
Yup! I heard that regarding Sam Cooke. A good model.
Facts . Nothing but facts

Elvis presley possessed a chameleon voice, ALL registers. Low, medium and high.
Soul, depth and diversity.
Steve perry was great in high registers.
In order to be the GOAT, you need depth. All registers.
@@bradhuskersit comes down to a matter of taste. I could listen to Steve all day- Elvis not so much, no disrespect.
Steve Perry will always be Journeys best.
Journey is the definition of unmatched talent...lyrics, vocals, instrumentals and arrangements every single time. Please do Open Arms, Separate Ways, Don't Stop Believing, and Wheels in the Sky.
Guys - Open Arms -Journey - really showcases Steve Perry’s voice. It is a beautiful ballad and love to see you react to it! Big chart buster in 1982 went to #2.
Do you think that rating was purely for the song or its inclusion on the Heavy Metal soundtrack?
Open Arms is totally amazing
From this same concert-live.
Steve Perry is absolutely the best vocalist of the 21st century hands down! I am a Perry girl from the beginning in 77-78 and counting🥰
Agreed!!
I’m with ‘ya!
Steve is 2nd to Freddie Mercury
@@davidfabian7505 😂
@@davidfabian7505 nah
I’m 53. Saw Journey three times back in the 80’s and they blew it outta the park every time! Steve Perry sounded amazing!
I’m 40 and journey is my moms favorite so I definitely listened to them growing up but I’ve never seen them together. I’ve seen journey 3 times together without Steve and I once saw Steve perry solo.
to really appreciate Steve Perry's vocals is called 🌟 faithfully 🌟
My opinion the greatest vocalist of all time, he’s so freaking awesome.
Yepppp the best Malé voice ever
Journey was the hardest touring and recording band in the 80’s! Non-Stop for 10 years! So many great songs!
Today, reactors are separating the singers from the Band. It’s important to know…We were die-hard fans of “The Bands”
Everything from this Houston Concert is Fire!
Back when listening to albums on a stereo with friends was an actual activity.
I was lucky to see Journey twice with Steve Perry in the 80s..They were my favorite band and my very first concert at 14. They are AMAZING live and I loved the way Steve interacted with us in the audience..if you haven`t seen Mother/Father live in Houston video,it is a MUST!
Same for me and my girlfriend at the time. My poor Dad got escort duty. The air was purple from pot smoke. A good time was had by all as my Dad said. Even my conservative Dad praised him.
Steve Perry “ The Voice”. This band is iconic!!
Hard to believe now, but this song was much bigger and had more airplay than Don't Stop Believing back then.
STEVE IS THEEEE GOAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Does anyone else notice that Steve walks, strutts across the stage at the beat of the music 🎶
@@user-gu2mq9ph8g Thank you. Wishing you the best. Was I correct in the statement?
The difference between Steve and Freddie is that Steve always sang perfectly. He took care of his voice, where Freddie did a lot of drugs and made lifestyle choices that hurt his voice (we wll have our demons). Even Steve's vibrato was perfectvibrato was immaculate...an area where Freddie falls flat. Steve is quieter more thoughtful person and Freddie was out there and flamboyant..very different styles. But for pure singing Steve is unmatched. Mother Father from the same concert is mind blowing.
Freddie was a great showman, no doubt with a lot of great hits backed up by the band but Steve’s voice was flawless. Always! Sam Cooke inspired and you can tell. Just as good Live as in the studio. SP is the Goat
Y’all gotta check out Mother, Father. It really showcases Steve’s vocal ability. Steve is an incredible vocalist Live and studio. Freddie was a showman and really needed his band for backup. Steve didn’t, he is just phenomenal.
You are spot on Mimi. With that gift of voice, add the Steve Perry emotion- he could have achieved the same success recording with studio musicians. Honest Charisma was the one gift that sets Steve Perry apart. You see it when he addresses the audience- he connects! People connect, and they don’t ever forget how SP made them feel. Thank you, Steve Perry!!
Agree. Freddie was a showman, for sure. But Perry in his heyday is unmatched.
Steve pitch perfect.....
Best voice! I love Freddie too but Steve might just be a slight favorite for me. Please check out LOVIN' TOUCHIN AND SQUEEZIN', OPEN ARMS , I'LL BE ALRIGHT WITHOUT YOU, and LIGHTS. There r so many amazing perfect big hits from this iconic band. Also OH SHERRIE a Steve Perry solo for his girlfriend at the time. Thank you for this one y'all!
⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️ Also, “Faithfully”
Yeah, Freddie rarely delivered a live vocal comparable to the studio.
The first time I saw Journey in concert was in 1981, and I thought that there’s no way that Steve Perry can replicate live what he sound like on record....and he actually sounded better live! He also sounded flawless for the entire 2 and half hour show, and it was an outdoor show in Phoenix on a 95 degree day.
I can listen to Steve Perry the whole day without getting tired of his voice. For Freddie Mercury a song or two would be enough for a day
Perry was incredible with his live vocals. So on pitch .
This entire live album is amazing! Please try “Stone in love “ next!
Been following journey for over 42 years. These quality bands don't exist anymore. Very sad😢
Journey is the Best Live Band Ever.
they are VERY tight...saw them in 83 and I thought it was the record for a few moments
I agree that Mother Father from this same concert is a must.
"Open Arms" is another great song by this awesome group. You can't go wrong with Journey, they had so many wonderful hits.
The very best ever!
Saw Journey live twice. There is a reason Steve Parry is simply known as "The Voice".
this entire concert is straight up FIRE 🔥
Journey’s first hit was “Lights.” You’ll enjoy Steve Perry’s vocals.
People say that Steve Perry sounds the same live or in studio... respect 👍
Steve Perry is true, real talent.
I grew up in the 80s and music was definitely something else that will never happen again.
It is impossible to find a bad Journey song! "Faithfully"," Lovin Touchin Squeezin" "Separate Ways" are my faves ❤ SO blessed to grow up in the 80's, and 1981 is my favorite music year across R&B, Rock, Rap; Freshman year of High School in Brooklyn; BEST TIMES!
And this is LIVE ... no Auto-Tune, no auto-correct, no studio enhancements. WOW!
Next up from this concert is 'Mother Father'!! It's A MUST!!!!! It's a 'Masterpiece'!!!
Neal Schon's guitar solo at the end, according to Steve Perry, the producers said that the solo was 'too long for radio play and that it needed to be shorten!!' Steve argued with them and after words back and forth and so on. Steve told them, that 'if the radio stations want to cut in to bring in the next song. He was fine with that. BUT! They were NOT going to cut Neal's ending solo!!
So there you have it! It's one of the greatest guitar Neal Schon solo's ever!!
Other great songs from Classic Journey are ........ 'Girl Can't Help It, Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, The Party's Over (I would suggest the studio version), Ask The Lonely, Light's, Send Her My Love, Message Of Love, Still She Cries, Edge Of The Blade, Escape (studio or the live version from the Houston concert), Still They Ride, When You Love A Woman, Wheel In The Sky (react to the studio version and then the live version from Houston concert), Separate Ways (the long studio version), After The Fall'.
And I think that's about it for now!! ...lol... Happy Journey!!
"Mother Father" was Neil's favorite off the Escape album.
@@DM-hk4cw ...... It has always been my favorite as well!!
Sweet and Simple is a song Steve Perry wrote about 5 years before joining Journey. Audio only but great song. Wheel in the Sky, When You Love a Woman, Still They Ride, Lights, Faithfully, Patiently and so many more.
I have been to concerts that when the group starts singing, you wonder if this is the same band. And then you see Journey in concert and they sound even better than the cassette.
Steve Perry is the legit one of the best vocalists of all time!
Notice how Steve Perry went to the back of the stage during Neal Schon's guitar solo to give Neal the complete spotlight and attention. Class act.
I was fortunate enough to see and hear Journey on the "Escape" and the "Frontier Tour. Simple Awesome Amazing and Incredible ❤😊. His Voice is So Awesome and Amazing!!!!!!!
Sam Cook was Steve Perry's vocal influence. He was Steve's idol. You can hear it. . . Do Mother Father Live 1981 in Houston next! Mind blowing
Dudes voice was unreal. And the band….dang.
Perry’s vocals and Schon’s guitar are perfection in this song.
Steve "The Voice" Perry was second to none when it comes to frontman vocals and singing live.
His biggest influence was Sam Cooke. His mother loved Cooke and would have it on the radio when he was growing up, and it shaped the way he wanted to emulate.
Any live performance from that 1981 Houston "Escape" tour show is gold! Especially Mother-Father if you haven't done that one.
There are some great ones live in Tokyo, too like "Still They Ride". That's one of Steve's greatest sounding tracks for sure.
Back then bands made money touring - not record sales. There was no auto-tune or digital music so they had to be able to sound great live in order to be considered a successful band. That's just the way it was. The reason all these bands from that era are considered legends is because they endured by putting on fantastic live performances in front of millions of fans over 5 to 10 year period.
Don't miss Steve Perry's solo career! H is phenomenal!
Wheel in the Sky and anything off Escape is golden. Faithfully, Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin, and other great songs exist bu the Escape album is their most triumphant achievement.
That outro, magic.
I’m proud to say I grew up listening to Journey. The best part was hearing Steve Perry’s VOICE!
I saw Journey in concert 3 times between the 80s and 90s
Steve Perry sounds the same in person as he does on recording. My favorite of all time
Steve perry the voice period
OPEN ARMS, ONLY THE YOUNG, ANY WAY YOU WANT IT, LOVIN TOUCHIN SQUEEZIN,... can't go wrong w journey, ever.
The Girl Can't Help It is a killer tune
I love watching Randy Jackson on bass with his polka dot guitar. LOL
Loving, Touching Squeezing. Separate Ways, Wheel in the Sky, Anyway You Want It all are great.
Idc what culture you are, when you hear Steve Perry you get chills😄😄!!
Steve Perry is the best vocalist. You can listen all day to him. Please play more “Journey!”
Steve Perry singing live is something else.
Neil Schon was recruited by Carlos Santana to play with his band when he was a teenager. The story of Steve Perry is worth looking up. I met him several times and the whole group were very friendly to me in the day.
Don't forget Greg Rollie, he was in Santana and he and Neil started journey ✌️
@@itchyandred4131 No, Herbie put what we all know as Journey together. Herbie had to sneak Perry on stage as sort of a ‘guest performer’ because he knew Neal and Rollie would object! They were not in favor of Perry joining! Rollie left a short time after when it was obvious Perry was the future! AND Perry WAS! Get over it, Perry was and always will be THE VOICE that made Journey what it became and remembered to this day! Doubt it, N&G? -try a concert w/o Perry songs!
@@pamlatham7032, Neil and Rollie were original to Journey as well as Ross Valorie and had a few albums under the name Journey. Herbie was a great promoter and manager, no doubt, but he did not "put together" Journey. He influenced the version of Journey that most have grown to love. One could argue that Steve Smith replacing Ansley Dunbar on drums was the beginning of their rise or the addition of Jonathan Cain for that matter. At any rate, the version of the band on this performance produced some of the most memorable songs ever.
Neil was recruited by Greg Rollie not Carlos
@@DM-hk4cw Herbie- a great promoter, manager, influencer? Prior to Herbie that band was going no where . Fact: had Herbie not found SP, had not resorted to tricking the band and getting SP into the mix (and yes later SS & JC) Journey would never have been the iconic band it became! Herbie deserves the credit, not reduced to a ‘great promoter’ while those that fought those changes at the time, hated the ‘girly songs’, etc, take credit for the success those changes produced! “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time BUT not all of the people all of the time”
Please add to your channel some *Electric Light Orchestra (ELO),* the rock band that had more Top 40 Hits between the US and UK combined during their 15-year career from '72 to '86, than ANY OTHER BAND IN THE WORLD! To start, I suggest, *"Evil Woman",* you'll love it! (Use the studio version from the original 1975 album titled, Face The Music.)
Yes please, ELO are fantastic
Lou Graham of Foreigner was another epic voice from that era
Live.. Way before auto tune he could do things people dream of sounding like in a studio. Crazy talented.. THE VOICE for a reason.
Steve Perry the best Malé voice ever no doubt about
I saw these guys in the early 80's and have to say it was the best concert I ever attended. I got my seat last minute for 20 bucks and ended up behind the stage which turned out to be the best seats in the house as the stage was setup so Steve could sing for us as well as those in the front and he alternated throughout the performance. Then nice thing was I had a bird eyes view of both the drummer and the piano player throughout the night and both the electric and bass played for us as well.. A bag of weed in hand. It was a blast.
I love every song that Steve Perry and Journey has recorded
Steve Perry, in his prime, which lasted like 60 years haha, is one of THE BEST voices you shall ever hear!
if you haven't listened to their song-I'll be alright without you, i can happily recommend it for you guys.
Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' may be my favorite Journey song. I have to throw in a vote for that one.
Steve Perry's voice is mesmerizing!
Steve Perry live sounds like Steve Perry in studio. He's a real singer. He can "sang".
One of if not THE greatest voice ever.
JOURNEY 👐👐👐 Take your pick w songs!! This group is amazing!! 💕
As a love ballad, Stay Awhile is worth a shot. Steve's voice... wow.❤
My favorite ballad is Stay Awhile! On Captured the live album, that version is sick!!!!
@@LB-br8hn the piano and Steve's voice... yes! Nice to hear your excellent taste in music!!
He adored Sam Cooke since he was a kid. His mom's car radio played "Cupid" by Sam C, and homie was hooked. He's American of Portuguese descent. His dad was a singer and radio personality back in the day. Love this guy, and this band.
4:20 My favorite singing he's ever done. The vibrato is just like an opera.
He could’ve been an operatic countertenor. ❤
This is just the tip of the ice berg. Special voice, special band.
Steve Perry, a/k/a The Voice, IMO is the best singer who puts his heart and soul into every song he sang. One of the last songs Steve did with Journey was When You Love A Woman. His voice is crazy good. React on that one. With hair down to his ass (which he looked mighty fine by the way) he did the video in a tremendous amount of pain because he had suffered an accident while hiking in Hawaii and needed surgery for his hip. I believe that's why he decided to hang up his Journey shoes and get out of the business. Fortunately, he came back with his first album in 20 years about 5 years ago (Traces) and his voice is still beautiful. The song When You Love A Woman was the only song Journey was even nominated a Grammy for, which I think is crazy. And that was in 1997!!! Plus, Journey has had hit song after hit song, yet they weren't inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame until 2017! Yet all these other weird ass bands I've never heard of are in there. Journey NEVER received the recognition they deserved. No wonder Steve said 'I'm outa here' after he was injured.
Ive read that Steve Perry from Journey and the late Brad Delp of Boston were two of the nicest guys in Rock n Roll.
Thanks guys, his voice is a God given gift. GOAT.❤😊
How good is Steve Perry? This is live, just sit with that for awhile. The best.
The Journey power ballad is untouchable. When A Man Loves A woman, Send Her My Love, Still They Ride..... flawless
I love all your reactions to Steve Perry.. GOAT
I'm a devoted Journey fan. I saw them live in Long Beach CA during their Raised on Radio tour in 1986. A night I will never forget. Check out Raised on Radio, The Girl Can't Help It,Lovin Touchin Squeezin, When You Love a Woman, and Hopelessly Inlove With You. They delivered.
Boy, I don't know anyone that didn't have this album in 1981-82. Such a big album, great songs.
Next should be from this same concert Mother Father vocal acrobatics are amazing and please please please check out Wheel in the Sky live in Osaka
As a child of the 1960’s I’m so happy to be exposed to so many great songs. I’m so glad to see you looking into these amazing songs.
Nice reaction. I saw Journey live back in the 80s. The vocals were flawless, the band were killing it, and super tight in the pocket.. This reminds me that they really were as good as I remembered.
I wonder if you've ever heard Marty Robbins? I still get chills every time I hear him, he can tell a story in a song. Big iron, Kaw-Liga, El Paso, Ghost riders in the sky, I walk alone.... His voice makes my hair stand up. I don't care for country music normally but his voice is amazing.
I'd like to have a dollar for every time Journey was being played while love was being made
Yes That man Can Sing. Great Band.
The cool thing about Steve Perry for all the brothers out there is that Steve’s biggest early influence was none other than Sam Cooke. The most influential American soul singer of all time! And if you listen, you can hear Cooke’s influence in Steve singing style. And I’m voting for Journey’s “Only the Young”. It’s a fantastic song!
This Concert set records. In 1981, American Homes were just getting Cable TV. The first channel to offer movies, documentaries and specials was called Home Box Office (HBO). Journey - Live from Houston was the first live concert on HBO. I lived in a country-town, outside of Houston. All in our school piled-up at friends homes that had cable…It was amazing!
Try "Mother, Father" from the same concert, you will be just as blown away if not more! Loved you reactions guys....this band were phenomenal!
