Big fan of the Palms. Great place to get away from Strip Gouging. I've stayed in the Fantasy tower and the Ivory tower. I'll take the value in the Ivory Tower. I have a stay booked for the end of July.
I have been going to the Palms for more than 15 years, it goes through structural changes every few years (restaurants changes and even ownership group changes) but it is always one of my favorite places to be in Las Vegas.
Hey Jacob, one great tip for the Southern California people. Since both The Palms and the Yaamava Casino in Highland, CA are owned by the San Manuel Tribe, both casinos share the Club Serrano card and points can be earned and spent in either casino.
Great post. That was a ton of information and you organized it very well. Thank you for eating at the affordable restaurant and not one you need a 2nd mortgage to eat. Slots for everyone, food for everyone and very active. Thanks for a great look at a beautiful Casino!
Awesome video. Dig the honesty, the amount of information presented, the employee shout outs, and the unbiased assessment. As a person that has called Vegas my second home for 30+ years, I think everything presented here is spot on. The casino is low key much bigger than you expect it to be, there is a pretty wide variety of dining choices here, as well as a wide variety of room options (as he said-anything from a relatively standard room to some pretty over the top suites). He was also very accurate in regards to the location assessment. It’s not in a bad part of town, but it’s also not Beverly Hills. In terms of “walkable” proximity-you’re basically looking at Gold Coast and Rio. I’m personally not a fan of the unforgiving mini-bar dynamic. I feel like any hotel that charges resort fees should include the use of a free mini fridge. That’s just me venting though. Beautiful review. I’ll certainly look forward to seeing more.
These ‘resort fees’ are pure profit and are nothing but a less-than-clever and illegal way of hiding the true room rate. I’d like to see a class action lawsuit for fraudulent and deceptive practices. The FTC has already warned hotels that ‘resort fees’ fall into this category. Time to take them to court.
Thanks. We just finished a 3- night stay at The Palms. We had a room similar to yours that was on a high floor. Our only complaints were (a) we could hear a lot of street noise on Saturday night , even on the 31st floor; and (b) the lack of free shade at the pools. Our meals at The Serrano Cafe, Scoth 80 and Mable's BBQ were all good!
Yoooo…you’re overview of what the table limits at each resort is freakin awesome! No YT’ber does this…good job with the editing and filming of this video…diggin it
We stayed at Palms when my friend was getting married. We decided to walk to the Strip. I swear, it took almost forty minutes to get over there. We loved the hotel and it's one of my favorites.
I used to stay at the Wynn. I stayed here in Nov. at the palms' apartment side, and it was very nice. I'm going back, in March. It's close to the main strip but less traffic. The restaurants are all very good and the staff is very professional and friendly. They won my business.
I work at Palms Place he was spot on as he usually is about the scenary and what to expect. I think next time he should try staying at Palms Place instead...own kitchen fridge with ice maker in it and much spacier!
The casino players are only comped rooms for the Fantasy and Ivory Towers. I wish I can stay at the Palms Place, but I asked about it to multiple staff members at The Palms but was told it would come out of my own pocket.
I always enjoy watching your videos. I like that your videos are a little different from the others who have Vegas videos. Been to Vegas once and hope to go again sometime and hope to run into the vegas youtubers like you, Jaycation, etc. when you are taping.
I live right across the street from the Palms in the corner Apartments we moved out here a few months ago from California I thought I was going to be really bad living off the strip but Apartments I live in are actually pretty nice it's dog friendly but anyways me and my son always go and watch our movies at The Palms or sometimes at the Gold Coast movie theaters but lately we've been going every Monday for Monday $5 movie night at The Palms we were there this past Monday to go see Guardians of the Galaxy full second time and I also just want to say since I moved to Vegas I enjoyed your video channel you really educated me on Las Vegas thank you
Nice video w Pete bro on point! Coming from a fellow Santa Clarian/Campbell who moved here 8 yrs ago. Before I moved here I watched all your Vegas videos that helped me out a lot! 🥇
That minibar abuse fee... yeowch! Nice place, but the lack of a usable fridge is a deal breaker for me. Also the location: while the 1-mile from the strip isn't an insurmountable obstacle, the fact that it's a decidedly pedestrian-unfriendly 1-mile is.
I would like to shout out to the banquet team. Had my wedding reception there at the View 52nd floor and the view to the strip is amazing! Guests were in awe and staff was so great to work with.
When we stayed at The Palms in December the fridge was cleared out and we used it for our stuff. We actually did eat at the cafe for late dessert after seeing Adele. Very tasty!
Found ya thru Peter's video!! Love the content, and I appreciate the toilet check, in the Army I was always in charge of toilets for some odd reason, I guess they know clean people when we walk in the door and instantly assign us to toilets.
Another great video. I didn't think the Palms and RIO were that far from the strip because I stayed at the RIO before and walked to the strip from there but you're right they are a mile from the strip. The Palms looks like a great place but man, I got to stay on the strip or downtown when I visit Vegas. Thanks for the content.
I’m actually really impressed by the cocktail prices at the pool restaurant , I’m so used to seeing 18 or more that I see cheaper than that and I think I’m looking at Texas prices
Hey Jacob! I live out on Boulder near Trop. Just found your channel via Peter's latest vid. I go around and film a lot on my days off. There's so much to reveal about our city! Great job and keep up the good work!
Re; the bathroom - In 2019 I stayed at a Hilton in Norfolk, VA. The bathroom had a sliding door that had about 2-3 inches of open space at the top and the same amount of open space at the bottom. So even if the door was closed, there was still plenty of open space. I was staying solo, so it ended up not bothering me all that much, but if I had another person in there, it would have been weird.
Great video 📹 I prefer the Orleans, I'm about 3 hours away no traffic I prefer to stay off strip or visit Fremont street once in a while to watch the drama
I remember when the Maloof brothers owned The NBA Sacramento Kings & built the Palms Resort in 2001 & it was the Talk of the town. Joe Maloof actually phoned by dad (who Whaled HAM @ Caesars) to invite him personally to the Resort.
Thank you for showing me the Palms because I have been there three times but have not really walked around. Just would go for the Buffett, play a little then leave. Next time I am giving the Serrano Vista Café a try and walking around longer.
Glad to see they gave the place a facelift. I always liked going there because they always booked the best international DJs. I'm going to save my pennies and head to Vegas soon. Hope to at least stop in and check the place out.
It's interesting to see how much The Palms has changed over the years. I used to go there a lot when it first opened and you're right, it was party central with a mostly young and trendy crowd. Then I went back in 2015 and it was depressing. It was dark, dirty, and mostly empty. My last trip was about a year ago and it has definitely improved. It's much cleaner now and a bit busier, but definitely not as packed as it was when it first opened.
I stayed there with a Groupon that included the room buffet, a bottle of wine and the room they gave me was amazing. I think I paid $200 for the Groupon for four nights and I got a two bedroom suite.
Jacob, wife and I luv ur vlogs, we are Canucks, we have stopped going to Vegas because of cost, resort fees, parking fees, bad service etc, , we used to go to Vegas for 25 yrs plus, stayed at many resorts, no more, no respect for seniors, more orientated for youngsters to get hammered and party.
I always enjoy your videos and really helps when planning our next vacation. I am a military combat veteran and it would really nice to know what casinos offer military/first responders discounts.
I think ghostbar has the best views of the strip. I wish they would cut some spaces out of the plexiglass so you can get better photos. I also miss the old glass floor. Drink prices are not too bad either.
Gidday from downunder.. got onto your channel vis Peter when you took him on a tour.. love this stuff.. great information and knowledgeable on Vegas.. cheers
I used to get fully comped rooms weekdays and weekends when it was owned by the Fritita brothers before they sold out to station casinos and had all the construction and full Covid shutdown. I still get the weekday off, but the one thing that is awesome is the suites (hardwood, cribs, etc) and the jacuzzi hanging over the edge. I got offered one of those for 800 a night I shoulda did it for the experience
You stayed in the ivory rooms which look updated a bit. I’ve stayed in the ivory room about a year and a half ago, and they were sub-standard at that time. The fantasy tower is really great for regular rooms, they are nicely renovated. I’ve always been a fan of the palms, they usually treat me well, and it’s pretty quick to get in and out if you have a car, as opposed to staying on the strip. And there are some pretty smokin’ hot chicks that stay there…that’s a plus…!
@@IPANoah My mistake - looks like they’ve jazzed them up a bit since I last stayed there. That “no door” thing for the toilet and shower still sucks, though.
Hey Jacob I dig your vlogs bro. I really like your regular guy vibe. If I'm ever in Vegas I'll hit you up and buy you a beer. Either regular or n/a since I don't drink alcohol haha. Keep it up.
Great video! I liked the Palms but one of the things that annoyed me is that they do not allow coolers/ice chests in your room. I stayed there about 2 years ago, maybe its changed now. I think that is a huge plus to allow coolers/ice chests in the room. I save money while also probably getting more buzzed and spending more money at the casino.
We stayed at the Palms last July, didn't like the room but we enjoyed the pools, movie theater and the restaurants. Will probably never stay there again, but I will just go there for the bars and restaurants.
I really didn't like this channel at first. But, Jacob does a great job at covering everything about the resort. The attention to the gaming floor is very nice. Well done, you've turned me.
What are your thoughts on The Palms?
Nicccccccccce. Love Yaamava, so Palms is just as nice....

They are used to get around the 3rd party booking like Expedia
@@talklasvegas If they are illegal, as I believe they are, it doesn’t matter what their intention is.
Nah, it’s simply the way they have to compete on all the 3rd party websites like Expedia.
@@DE-vs2xy Maybe you need to reread what I wrote about the FTC.
@NoOne Wrong. That’s the problem. It is NOT included in the advertised room rate.
