What are your thoughts on Circus Circus?
🤐
Gotta try it out . . . never been to Vegas ! 😬
STEAK . . . I gotta go ! 😛
Almost as bad as the outdated Westgate 😂!
The property is definitely not for me, but great fun informative vid!
circus circus gives me the vibes of an eternal pit of a dead mall, the slots of fun section is incredibly creepy. Def worth a visit when messed up on drugs and alcohol
Circus Circus Steakhouse not having to hire a new employee in 23 YEARS is absolutely mind blowing!! They obviously have not only incredible management, but their employees must be treated with respect and treated VERY well in order for them to have that sort of loyalty. The employees are probably much more like a close family than they are coworkers.
If I am ever in Vegas again, there’s no chance I will miss going to that steakhouse!!
turn of the millennium and they were like yeah I think this is good, that's fantastic won't miss next time I go either
Impressive
Right?? You’d think at the very least someone would have at least died lol
Are you guys aware that circus circus has had a bed bug infestation outbreak for the past year? Look it up it is all over the news.
Overrated steakhouse as well, my “aged” strip was as tough as an old boot
We brought our 13 year old son there to relive having gone there at his age. Its rough, but we really got a lot of enjoyment seeing the hourly acrobatic performances. Its like roughing it, but so is camping, and camping can he a blast! We have some good memories from that trip, though I doubt we'll be back.
I first visited Vegas in 1984 when I was 13 and that gigantic clown neon sign is what hooked me on Vegas!!
Thing always has a scary, fun lure that draws u in for sure!!!!
Dude I remember going there as a kid in the 90s my parents would be down at the casino floor while I would be upstairs playing the casino and when I needed money I would randomly find them it was probably the best moments in my childhood I loved Circus Circus till this day
As a kid my dad took me here almost every summer. I am quiet familiar with this property, I stayed here one time as a adult and how things changed from when I was kid. This was about 10 years ago, while it was under MGM ownership. From your video I saw a lot of changes under the new ownership, they are small but still it looks like the ownership group is trying to improve the property. I hope they succeed, just so I can still have my memories of Vegas as kid remain in place.
I believe there is a renovation this year happening at Circus Circus.
I to as a kid stay there, had fun and my mom played one dollar black jack, I've lived in Vegas for 21yrs and have gone to circus circus only one time about ten years ago. You didn't mention if there's FREE parking, if there is I'll check the property out again
Yeah MGM didnt care for it very well.
Who cares. You have to get accustomed to moving on in life. Just because you went to college does not give you any reason to visit your old dorm when you hit 75 years old.
@@theclueguy3388 mgm just saw it as a cash cow, no need to look after it if people still go
I stayed in this Hotel for several years... all the way from 14 year old teen to maybe 23, and from my experienced, from 2003 to 2009 were the best years without a doubt. Everything was open everyday, and that automatically made it so much better. I stayed again when i was about 27 or 28 so about 5 years ago because I was nostalgic like Jacobs said, and never again... This place is not even close of what it used to be.
If you stayed at circus circus a lot you probably brought home some bed bugs without you even knowing it.
i worked there as a security officer from 2004-2008 (left to go to LVMPD). there were alot of good people there. I only went back one time to visit some friends after that. it's changed SOOOO much!
@@poorchristopher15 That can happen at pretty much any hotel nowadays. Stars don't rid of bedbugs
WHY? u didnt say WHY u wouldnt go back!!
I’ve stayed at all of the top hotels in Las Vegas as I am a huge fan. But when I went there with my young kids a while back, I stayed at Circus Circus, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. You should’ve spent at least a minute more on the Adventure Dome! That place was amazing for the kids! An indoor full on looping roller coaster having amusement park! Awesome! Things are what you make of them. Thanks for your video. 👍🏽
what about the Delano my friend told me to go there?
I really enjoyed the Adventure Dome the first time I went to Vegas, but that was about 10 years ago. Everything has changed so much there I wonder what it's like now.
Im in my 40s and had a great time on the rides.
Circus Circus is so nostalgic for me. It'll always have a special place in my heart with so many memories I have there.
I love how honest his reviews are.
Well Jacob has gone crazy.
🤣🤣😭😭😭😩😩
Fr
Insert clown makeup meme with Jacob's face
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
The Steakhouse is legit! I love that place! Circus Circus could be such a gold mine. It just needs a vision and some good management.
And to be cleaned
And a rennovation an cleanup job
Extremely fair and I like that you're actually trying to help them. Real people work there and own this place that are trying to make a legendary property better again. I believe you reflected this well.
Thank for this information, please do more, I canceled my vegas trip because of one of these videos, now I will stay somewhere else, good job looking out for us
Thank you for a very honest review. I mostly appreciate your fairness in being objective. You always try to look at things from all positions and not just your own. Very informative.
My bro is KILLING IT .. LOVE SEEING YOU take this thing to the next level! KEEP CRUSHING!
The labor Jacob performed for the hotel in cleaning the dookie stain, hairs, etc, plus marketing with the video, is worth much more to the hotel than a resort fee.
A clean room is the minimum expectation regardless of establishment.
ROFL😆
There is a bed bug infestation outbreak in circus circus and other vegas hotels. Look it up yourself. I wouldn't go there if I were you.
Yeah I've heard about that x.x yuck.@@poorchristopher15
I dunno how someone even gets that much dookie on the toilet seat lol...like what??
I work security at circus circus for the last 5 yrs n already got 4 dead bodies lol 2 murders n 2 overdoses
Are you kidding me and this place is still open it's a crime center they need to level this dump off this planet already.
@Admiral Adama ironically its the 3rd highest grossing casino on the strip its just a peice of crap
Killa , I stood there a few years ago I would walk through the motor lodge area , ho central , crank B ' s , pimps scary people . I stood in main hotel , on Saturday night it was like B black ho chick's everywhere 😅😊. Not fun , circus was good though . Where was the murders ? 😊
an unusually well-balanced, practical review. Fair, yet compassionate for the people involved, something I notice in every review of yours I have see. Thank you.
Really liked this honest review Jacob. Very helpful for anyone wanting to stay at Circus Circus. Post video commentary was great! Man, that toilet...how is that even possible?
Fun watching these right after I went to Vegas for the first time since I was 14. I’m 34 now with a young son and daughter, it was really cool to take them to Circus Circus for the first time as well as the seeing the Strip. Hopefully we’ll be back next year, but those are memories that last a lifetime.
I walked in there one late night. I thought I was in that bar scene from Fear and Loathing 😱
Too bad they took the carousel out. I wanted to see the polar bear and the ladies 😂
The intro was pure cinema 🤌🏾😂
Having just stayed at C.C. at the end of Feb. ,I agree with Jacob. It's classic Vegas, catering to families and young people. My first time staying at C.C. was 1989. Celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary, my wife and I fell in love with this hotel. We returned in 2010 and 2017.
Now our 44th anniversay, we came back and had a wonderful time. Our room on the 14th floor was clean and comfortable. It suited our needs. The employees were great. The food court was a nice addition to the property. And the only casino with coin slots. That sweet soind of coins clanking was awesome. Too bad Slot-a-fun never came back. The employee at the gift shop at Slots informed us on how the pandemic led to the downfall of Slots. We will back to Circus Circus soon.😊
Good to hear some positivity about it! Me and a friend will probably stay there in october due to it being right next to a festival we will be attending at the festival ground. So it'll probably be decent enough to crash since it's right next to it. Which tower did you stay in? Heard some tower did have some slightly more modern and renovated rooms?
Jacob I live on the east coast and have been to Reno once in '01, because of a friend who lives in Sparks nearby. Although I never plan on going to Veagas, I live the experience virtually through you. YOU are my main man out there. You deserve all your subscribers and viewers, because you are a great guy, with much character and generosity. Continued success, and I will be sure to keep spreading the word regarding your channel. 👍
dude, my first family vegas trip was to circus circus and Wet n' wild was across the street. Parents got a room and we stayed in the RV Park. Good times. Skateboarding was super popular and my brother, some friends and i had a great idea to hop the fence to skate in the park. Not long after exploring the park on our boards, we were being chased by security. We all got away. Back to skating around town and cruising the midway looking for girls. The good old days.
Thank you Jacob for this very informative tour and review. It’s a real ‘gamble’ staying their apparently! Glad you gave shouts out to the staff. Respect. Let’s see if the upcoming renovations help. Well done.
It gets shit on a lot, but for what it is it works. It’s a family hotel, and it’s clientele is mostly SoCal. They know what they’re doing, and if they didn’t it would have shut down long ago
Is that pun intended :”it gets shit on a lot” LOL
Jacob.....the beginning of your video gambling and then you woke up is the best start of any video i've watched on you tube 🤣😂🤣
$25/night for a fridge is crazy. I hate how most resorts no longer have refrigerators it’s just mini bars.
Thats what happens when hotels throw away a working fridge because someone complain it looked bad and was outdated...And the new ones they replaced them with failed within so many years... So it became to much of an expense.
Tell them you have medicine that needs to be refrigerated...no change and they don't check
@@fmm10970 is this at any resort? I’m either staying at the Wynn or palazzo.
@@Tward2929 it's worth a try
@@fmm10970 Yeah it’s better and easier to lie than to pay up or dyor for a property that has one accessible included in the room!!! People like you make me 🤮
Circus Circus is Legendary. I always stop in every Vegas trip.
One of your best videos. Video quality and descriptiveness are through the roof. Keep smiling , keep doing your thing.
This is considered your good deed of the year….carry on 😊
🤣
I have many fond memories of coming to Vegas growing up and staying at Circus Circus. I remember when the Adventure Dome first opened. It was the best!!!!
A 30 min video on Circus Circus? "No Way", I thought. Can't possibly be interesting enough to spend that much time watching. But I did. Opened in 1968, the year I was born. Decent looking room. Loved your tour of the property and all the reviews. Appreciated your final, honest critique of the overall experience. Especially liked you giving credit to the folks who stood above the average in your eyes - those are the truly deserving. Not sure I'd ever stay there, but definitely found a few things I'd check out next time. Keep up the awesome work, Jacob!
That intro was superb!
Circus Circus was the first hotel I ever stayed at in Vegas. It was 1973 and part of their ad campaign was that "They always had a room open!" so I didn't make reservations. Drove from the DC area to Vegas and had a pretty good time there. Also back then Slots O Fun was the old lady place, penny slots (real penny slots) and they wore white gloves that turned black from the pennies as they fed them into the slots. Had a pretty good time there, went back in 1978. After that I pretty much always stayed downtown.
Circus is one my favorite places on the strip. Don’t stay there with high expectations but it’s a good time especially if you have kids.
Been to the Steakhouse twice, it was amazing.
This is the first place I stayed at on my first trip to Las Vegas with my family when I was like 12 years old. I've never been back to Circus Circus but whenever we're driving by it I always look over and see what's happening or if anything new is going on.
Jacob is a Little early for those April Fools Day jokes 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, can't wait to see what he has cooked up for April 1st...A review of Motel 6 maybe? 😊
I work in hospitality and you handle issues in the best and most respectful way.
Jacob, that intro was awesome. this video was very interesting to say the least. i've heard nothing but good things about the steak house, like they redid the food court and water park also. i hope Phil Ruffin sees this video and puts some extra attention to the property
It is going to take more than new paint and carpet to revive this old girl. Thanks for the review,
I like the intro. The funniest thing is that Circus Circus has the gal to charge a "resort fee."
And there are other vloggers, not Jacob, who will defend it too who clearly are on the take
"gall"
I swear you have the BEST background music on UA-cam!!! These beats KNOCK!!!
I stayed at Circus Circus in the past. It reminded me of outdoor camping, in camping you have dirt and forests. In Circus Circus you also got dirty floors. While camping, watch the water you drink. I ate at the Circus Circus buffet and got Giardia diarrhea just like camping. It took antibiotics to kill that bug. The heavy lingering cigarette smoke feels like a forest after a fire. I don't go camping and I no longer stay at Circus Circus.
it should be renamed Sleazy n Nice
I remember going there in the mid 90s as a kid and having an absolute blast.
yeah you definitely stepped it up with that intro Jacob. Good job. Hope I get to meet u one day I visit Las Vegas
Man the Childhood memories I had there in 80s and 90s. I'll take my kids there next time I hit up Las Vegas
I like Circus Circus in the sense that is north of the strip and alternatives to gambling. It's one of the resorts you see a lot of families booking during the Afternoon. The free circus show is a nice highlight being a resort along with the amusement games.
I think resorts south of the Strip going to be more adult orientated like the Aria and Cosmopolitan.
We have been to the Steakhouse at least 20 times if not more. Have stayed at the Circus Circus twice.
Our family driving vacations alternated each year going East from Texas to Florida ending at Disney World. Westward was sightseeing all the way to Las Vegas. We always stayed at Circus Circus! The adults would gamble and kids spent hours at the arcade, bowling alley, and rides. I'm sure it's changed a lot but what great childhood memories!!
Any casino from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is goated.
Talk about informative and entertaining. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it Levi!
West Tower was being built in 1996! I was there.
In 1968, there was no hotel!
We used to be regulars at the Westward Ho until it was closed and demolished in 2005. We brought a bunch of family members down for my parents 50th that winter so the consolation prize was staying at Circus Circus. Back in the 80s and 90s it used to be a fun area with the Westward Ho, its back casino on Industrial called The Ho, Slots a Fun, Circus Circus, The Riv etc. 2 and 5 dollar blackjack all gone now, just Circus Circus left with 10 and 15 dollar tables.. We bought a timeshare in 2009 so don't use hotels much any more. I gotta admit after 35 years of coming to Vegas I didn't find this trip to be much fun.
Things have changed so so much.
I feel blessed to have experienced the Heyday of the 80's & 90's Vegas♥️♣️♦️
Me too , Circus Circus first Vegas experience as a kid in the 80s. Was great back then..
planning to take my wife to a Vegas vacation..Thanks to your great video.
Heck no to Circus disaster…..
OMG Jacob, that bathroom was totally disgusting, just lazy housekeeping. Before i unpack i always do a thorough room check, in case i have to change rooms, which has happened quite a few times. I can deal with wear & tear, but nastiness i just can't. All the renovations in the world won't help if your staff can't properly clean a room. Great video.
Exactly. They're just gonna ruin the new renovations.
Nice video. My wife and I were there many years ago after spending the first night at treasure island and comparing both places there is a big difference. Now I will go to the El Cortez or the four queens when I go to Vegas.
That intro😂😂😂Jacob, your videos have come such a long way!
Jacob if you ever need a local PA, Grip, or AC for your shoots. I’m an experienced one, who also loves the Strip and your videos. Love how you get some great behind the scenes with the kitchens etc! Doing an in depth video like this for each Strip and Fremont Casino & Resort would be so awesome for visitors to have to compare and contrast. And Circus Circus is a good starting one! Been really loving the major and highly noticeable bump in your production and editing in the past few videos! Who ever your new guy/gal is, keep them!
Hire this man!
@@LostInTheSauce818 you are too kind my friend! ❤️
Hi! My first time going to vegas I was 12 years old and we stayed here! Such a great experience. Thanks for uploading this!
Jacob, I like this side of your video productions here. I personally learned a lot about Circus Circus because I never took the time to visit there during my few visits to your wonderful city. I might suggest that you do the same type of video for many of the other resorts. Your honest and candid opinion of your experience and what the resort had to offer. It was very helpful !!
Great job workers.
So beautiful and powerful shopping store, restaurant and entertainment sport game for family.
SOOO happy and joyful to go and watch big hotels and genius intelligent smart people working.
Thank You for the joy and fun life.❤
It may not be the prettiest looking property in town but if you want that vintage Las Vegas vibe this is the place to go.
For vintage Vegas I prefer the downtown casinos or the Tropicana. But for families on a budget, Circus-Circus is the place to go.
Thanks for the video, I stayed in the manor house in 2019. I guess you missed to mention two available nice features for families staying at the hotel, the adventuredome fair ground and the water park.
However one of the cons is the manor house is too far from hotel entrance so you have to walk down a very long distance to get in and out of the hotel.
No tram anymore?
I really like the staff shoutouts at the end. They are so important for the overall experience and often get overlooked!
They filmed Diamonds are forever 1970 and Damnation Alley 1976 at Circus Circus plus many more...... Great video Jacob congrats on you sub count.....
Thank you Richard!
Also Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with Johnny Depp
edit:
the hotel refused to use their name and the movie had to be filmed on a set.
interior shots were partially filmed in the (now closed) Boardwalk Casino.
Dan Tanna from the tv show Vegas drive-in apartment was located either on or right behind the Circus Circus property.
I have stayed at a hew hotels, Cirus Circus has always been my favorite by far. Least issues checking in of anywhere. Easy access to the bus. I have stayed in the tower twice and themanor once. And I love the midway
last time I was in Vegas was 2016, we went to the Peppermill across the street, and walked over to circus circus. Wandered around the arcade, and the slots area. It looked and smelled dirty, watched one free trapeze show, which was cool and left. Outside felt sketchy and not safe. Sounds like they've done a few cosmetic changes inside. but nothing has really improved. Shout out to you for being positive about this property. But I will forever avoid this place. I will however be looking to staying at the el cortez suites after watching your video on them.
Was it the Peppermill that had those 99cents footlongs?
@@kmauryo I remember when Vegas actually had all you can eat buffets (downtown) for 99 cents. The food was definitely mediocre, and it was at midnight, but if you were hungry and didn't have much money it was the place to go. Sadly, they were pushed out when the Mob got pushed out of Vegas and replaced by corporations. The corporations figured out that pretty much the only people who ate at the 99 cent buffets were non-gamblers, almost all locals who didn't come to gamble - and for the mob the casinos were largely money laundering places. Now you can still find 1.99 sirloin and eggs at the Nevada Palace and in the Sienna Cafe at the Suncoast.
Circus Circus was the first casino we stayed at when we first visited Vegas in 1993. The AYCE breakfast was delicious, and cheap as chips. Wet 'n Wild was great fun, too. Where have all the years gone?
Great review of Circus Circus.
Thank you Neil!
@@JacobslifeinVegas you really outdid yourself with this video(review). C.C just needs a lil more TLC & this iconic Vegas property will be 🔥🔥🔥
Bob , Carol, Ted and Alice filmed at circus in '69 ! The only question is did they complete the wife swap ? Did they bang each other's? 😅😊
The beautiful wife and I stayed over Valentines this year, we enjoyed our time and felt that Circus Circus really has a great product for families and fun. The main issue we had was the Water Pressure and lukewarm warm water, but that is about it. Lillian and Louis were our savours to trip! Lillian again 5 Stars Louis you get 5 stars too and because of the two of you we shall return! Oh and the best cocktail service ever Gina you were the best server we ever experienced in Vegas 5 More stars!!!!!.
I've been to 6 properties. this will never be one of them. And yes this was the first properties I visited when I was a kid traveling with my dad LOL
Which one was best?
Is Mandalay Bay good?
Jeez, I saw the title and was going to light it up, but then at the end you came through with the truth. Definitely made a fan out me. Now I have to go back and watch the videos I missed.
🤣 Much appreciated 🙏
Great video! They really should've done more for you. That is embarrassing for the property. Nice editing, music, and production.
Thank you B!
Thanks for this vlog. Stay safe. Ciao. 2023.
Another smash hit. My 1st time to Vegas in 2005 I stayed at this hotel. I have fond memories of it. I stayed in the casino tower king. I have stayed at this property several times after that, and each time we experienced something similar to what you experienced. I like to visit the property and take in all the festivities but that's about it. We usually stay downtown or at a Caesars property.
I agree with The Steakhouse. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Vegas. It’s a classic!
Like many, my parents took us there in the early 70s. I took my teenage kids in the 2010s as the property is truly for families with a look of activities for the young ones. Thanks for the update and I would say they are skipping on the house keeping with hiring less personnel. What you experience is inexcusable. I do visit for business and personal, but as a Hilton Honor member, staying in one of the Hilton hotels or vacation property.
I just stood there last night. It was cool and my wife n son had a blast. All employees were fantastic. Its a family casino, so dont expect otherwise. The pizzeria is goid.
This was great! Loved this style of video of trying to show the good out of something that is not necessarily the best! Would love to see this style for more properties
I actually watched the whole video!! This was very good and not annoying like so many others!! Thank u!!
Having just seen the Excalibur video, I'm surprises how much cleaner and actually more welcoming the room at this much older hotel looks! I'd love if hotels just would get rid of carpets, wood or stone flooring is so much more hygenic and easier too clean.
But then they’d have to thoroughly clean it 😂
The hotel I work at has carpet around the bed, but the rest of the floor is hard wood! All other hotels seem to be just carpet? 🤔
The production value of your videos has improved exponentially! Hadn't watched in months and this video is so cool.
I went to Vegas last year, which I honestly don't remember going to prior. Within the first five minutes, I saw a pack of small dogs roaming independently. A homeless guy took off his shirt, screamed, then ran as fast as he could without assistance. A group of tiny drug dealers asked me, "what do you need?" As if it was perfectly fine to do transactions in front of kids and cameras. A lady addictively took up a row of slots as her family slept on the floor on top of each other. Thirty minutes later, I felt as if I was back in Detroit.
In my 20 years of living in that h*ll hole of Vegas, the most common phrase I heard from the drug dealers was: "Ya looking?". Apparently, the dealers have become more refined and cultured since I Ieft town.
Yeah, even the Strip is a ghetto now. I'm just glad you got home in one piece hun.
@@clairdelunefan Unfortunately, I grew up in hell, so this didn't bother me, but to fly for a vacation was strange. Enjoy life and peace.
@@clairdelunefan Oh get real. I was just there and The Strip is definitely not a ghetto. It's got tons of luxury hotels and shops and is generally very well-kept.
Thanks for your honest assesment. I've been wanting to try the Steakhouse, it's still on my list. You're the best Vegas blogger!
Definitely do the steakhouse.
Jacob, Sanitation from poor plumbing issues in toilet to dusty bed frame, tables, unclean sinks, unclean dusty, drawers, where dirty left over clothing’s by gusts, Housekeeping do not do everyday room service, so stained dirty bedsheets, towels, washcloths, damp towels hanging as soon as you check in and and has to call for PM Supervisor to witness the dirty room flagged as “”😂Clean room.” but in reality “ it was flagged by same PM supervisor the night before for day shift “” As dirty room vacant for cleaning “”, but someone made a bad room clean up and did not clean properly. The same Pm supervisor has to witness the dirtiest room and apologized for mishap from housekeeping employe. If ever I check in at Hotels like Circus circus we bring our own Sanitizer even their own employe told us to do so for he/ she does not trust Housekeeping Dept. Also the Elevator , you should film the elevator during summer. Dirty, smears and one working elevator, only one out of few elevators working during part of 2022 summer. Next time do film video on Main Casino tower. Also they do not change bedspreads or brown/ beige blankets. Undo the tucked in corners of bedsheets. Hidden dirts, stains ,hairs, etc. I’m proud of you for doing this video and speaking up.
Thanks Jacob. Your vlog was very informative. Several years ago we loved to go to slots of fun and play $1 craps.
Nice level review of Circus Circus. Nice for someone to point out some positives. Easy to trash it like most do without considering different people might not have the same budget as others to stay places. People pay as they can afford and have a great time
Thank you Arron!
Wow Jacob this intro is fantastic!
Great job making this video!🥰
Jacob is trolling🤣🤣🤣
I used to stay there when I was 5, visited from Thailand. And that was about 50 years ago. 🎉😅
As many others, I have nostalgia for this place. My parents took me to Vegas many times as a kid and most of the times we stayed here or somewhere close to CC. So I do have a soft spot for this casino and I'm glad they are making the effort to upgrade the place. In my adult life, I have booked CC for some of my Vegas trips and have faced some, but minor, issues while staying there, but nothing extreme and would always be glad to visit there, but probably not staying there anymore. The Midway is still very fun.
Anyways, nice video and yeah, all those reviews can't be lying. I won't defend this place despite my nostalgia for it, they do deserve that reputation, but I am glad they are investing on improving.
Great to hear a regular song in a youtube video again. Reminds me of how awesome youtube used to be before they started flagging copyrighted music.
I've stayed in that tower before and I thought the room was alright. It's definitely better than rooms at excalibur lately!
Love the beginning of this video. Well done circus circus is they first place we ever stayed when we came to Vegas for the first time back in 2013 for pool championships when it was at the Riviera
As usual, Jacob, great content. But now........Editing is off the charts!! Love it!!!
