      @@GarageGymLifeMedia I'm seven workouts in. These are easily the best collars I've used in years! I'm factoring price into my review of them. I'll come back in a month to give my feelings on them if you want. Thanks for recommending them! They are the only collars I've used since I've received them. I'm 6'5" and 280. I did the jump test and they MAYBE moved a 1/16 of an inch! I couldn't believe it!

    Thank you for this excellent video. I especially appreciate the vertical weight test. I just bought some loadable dumbells and these collars are thin enough to load tons of 5kg plates while still being sturdy enough for goblet squats.

    the heck with all that!!!! I have to agree that spending extra money on collars and getting a pair that has magnets is something people will only appreciate after they use them.

    • @GarageGymLifeMedia
      @GarageGymLifeMedia  Рік тому

      It’s probably not something that the novice would buy because they’re used to the substandard spring collars you see in public gyms! These are definitely worth the money though!

      Thanks man! I try not to waste your time! I know a lot of UA-camrs like to talk for a while trying to build up the watch time in their video but I figure you’re here for a specific reason and it’s not to hear me ramble on it on, so I try to just jump into it as quickly as possible.

    Hey John! These are my go to collars now. I bought them at the end of October and have only used them since. I agree that the magnet is not needed, but love it when I'm changing weights...just stick it to the rack, add the weight, and then stick them back on. Great video as always, and glad you didn't get hurt!

    • @GarageGymLifeMedia
      @GarageGymLifeMedia  Рік тому +1

      Hey Justin so am I! Glad you enjoyed the video and glad you’re liking your Lock-Jaw collars. I’m thinking about ordering a pair of the Axle Collars too but that’s a down the road thing probably.

    • @TheRxdawg
      @TheRxdawg Рік тому +1

      @@GarageGymLifeMedia Yeah, I'm thinking about that too. I ordered a pair of spring collars for axle bars from Sorinex a couple years ago, but have been really impressed with the Lock-Jaw and would like to upgrade them. If you get some, I'd love to watch your review on them. I don't do a ton of axle bar or specialty bar work so I don't have a huge need for them at the moment, but might upgrade in the future.

    • @GarageGymLifeMedia
      @GarageGymLifeMedia  Рік тому +2

      @@TheRxdawg I'll definitely let you know. One place where I will use them is for SSB work and for Axle Bar benching. Donnie Thompson used to swear by fat bar bench pressing as part of his powerlifting meet prep. Also trap bars tend to have smaller sleeves so when I get another trap bar I'll probably need it there as well.

      Thanks for the sub! It always gets on my nerves when UA-camrs put a bunch of filler in the beginning of a video, for the sake of getting more watch time! Since it annoys me, I try not to do this that in my videos, so I don’t annoy you guys! Glad you enjoyed the review! And thank you again for the sub AND for the comment! Liked and subscribed. These collars do look great, wish they had some half the width for dumbbells'. I have the Rogue USA Olympic plates and the 10s are only .8 inch wide could make some heavy dumbbells' with these and feel safe too!

      Appreciate the response you got me thinking about this kind of collar and after some research getting the smaller Strength Co ones you don't have to slide them all the way off and are super thin for dumbells.

      I thought I'd start with heavier dumbells but went in diff direction going to do barbell, got Henny system which comes today and ordered Rogue collars that ones that Coop recommended. Still deciding on which cable system might just buy Ares so I can do heavy back lats and rows and have functional trainer too.@@GarageGymLifeMedia

    I really like the longevity test with leaving the collars on a bar for months, and them still holding up seemingly perfectly. I was curious if that would be a weak point with quality collars. Seems they can just last a really really long time without issue. Not sure what their average life span would be (depends on the use-case but yea).

      @@GarageGymLifeMedia - Awesome. Another person on youtube said they have been using their quality lock-jaw-style collars daily in their home gym for over 10 years, and that they still behave like the day he bought them, so that's nice.
      Wait they were actually LockJaws, the company itself.
