I have the Rogue aluminums for my loadable Olympic handles and I can say I’m only *partially* scared of dying when I hold it vertically over my face. They really lock on nicely
@@GlucksGym I found a $10 replacement that held up just fine during c&js. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DNX2CNB/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ACVXE5PX8B37X&psc=1
Do you have any cable pulleys or input on which you like or want? I want a Lat and Low pulley for a titan rack but I'm curious if the low row ruins your bench placement.
Good to see the difference so clearly demonstrated. For us beginners would be good to see if the cheap spring collars that often come with a cheap bar are worth sticking with at first. Would like to see content on choosing a bar and weight set. Some offer 80kg total, some 100kg total, with different increments, some don't have 20kgs plates, some have 4x1.25kg plates instead of 2x1.25kg; would like to know how to choose.
Spring collars work perfectly fine. I used to workout with my brother in law for years at his gym. He had a few spring collars and the basic lock jaws. We did all kinds of lifts and even dropped the weight from overhead. The springs have been around for ever and work but the lock jaw were easier to put on and take off. They also did hold the weight in place better.
I don't have a lot of experience with other manufacturers but the lock jaw collars seem perfectly acceptable. I have the pro and 3 sets of their axle collars (my loadable dumbbells are axle) they grab firm and have never given me any problems. Exactly what I expect from a collar, they work and I never have to worry about them.
The lock Jaws are pretty good though Rogue's are a step up. Probably unnecessary for most stuff unless you're deadlifting or doing a lot of Oly lifts where there's some impact
Awesome idea for a video! I recently saw the Amazon clips and thought about buying it, but didnt know how well the integrity of it would be. I have my own garage gym that I make videos on every so often, but I wish I could afford all those cool things to compare! Awesome video!
Are they though? I keep seeing Olympic weightlifting vids and they always use these, even on lifts where the bar is about maxed out. I think their bad rep is a conspiracy by Big Collar.
Thanks. That's actually a cut up Rogue Gunrack (3 bar) but I also use a vertical bar holder. The gunrack is shown in my gym tour, the vertical holder in my XII:XI fitness video.
Just found the channel, really appreciate the attention to detail and how each design is either OSO in origin or all similar but go by a different name. Helped me out a bunch. Subbed!
Because the grip is excessive for things like squat or bench (stuff where the plates aren't going to move) and these have a heck of a grip which means they also take effort to clamp and unclamp. Great collars though.
I have the Rogue in ABS and in aluminium. Both became loose after some dozens of drops from snatches and jerks. In my opinion the metallic ones doesn't deserve the extra money, and the extra weight of the ABS ones make them more useful to add half kilogram (around 600 grams to be more excat) to your weights. If you want a propper grip for olympic weightlifting then you need calibrated collars, which weight 2.5 Kg each and are much expensive but truly ramain in place. So for everything else just go for the vcheapest ones in ABS since the more expensive in metal lose the grip very fast and the plastic pieces (as the lever) can break also easily.
@@GlucksGym yess 👍 can you give me a link at which I could buy myself collars which would fit my barbells I also have a EZ bar but I will use the collars on them too
The aluminum are the best option. The hg are basically lock-jaws so you could see what those would cost you as well. I own both and use both but those aluminums are on another level. If you're not throwing it around much it might not matter.
@@GlucksGym if you were to use them with olympic db handles, would you be able to do heavy curls/heavy skullcrushers bench and ohp with the HG2.0 without having the collars slide off ? Like can they withstand at least 20kg per side if held vertically ? Could you please test it ? I'm going to order them later today and I really need to know if they're safe to use on handles
True but I thought for the sake of the vast majority we could leave that one out of this video. If you're debating $10 dollars you probably don't need to look at those haha

My rogue aluminums don't hold open anymore, rogue said sorry but I'm 3 months out of warranty
@@logicalfool wow. Mine are going on a lot of abuse and still going strong. Let's hope you got a lemon...

Watching this in January of 2022, you really upped your audio and camera game over the past year, good job on the work
I need to go back and watch a few of these! And come tomorrow the lighting upgrades should be done too! Thanks for noticing

Which loadable dumbbells and collars do you have? I’m currently looking for collars bc mine is also axle.
If you need axle collars I'd probably go Rogue HG 2.0 axle collars

I wish I could afford them too haha. The clips were xmas presents and the other stuff I built up over years.
No idea of how I haven't stumbled thru your channel. Great content man. Keep up the honest reviews. Just gained another subscriber.
Thanks! I'm trying but this shit is work!
I'd still take any of these over the oldschool spring clamps. Those things are horrific.
You're right those things are terrible!

I watch your videos but I never noticed that I wasn’t subscribed lol. I’m officially a subscriber today !!!
Wooo! Thanks! I appreciate you watching and the sub.
The Rogue USA Aluminum Collars are my favorite and I think is the best collars for the price. Must have
They're great even if a little pricey but I love mine and I'm working on getting a second pair.
Great job Gluck…your double had me laughing…will be ordering Rogue, thanks
Normally I have to look back to see what people mean but I remember the double on this one!

Could we see a gym tour video?
You're gonna love my next video though you just ruined the intro joke. You'll see it on Wednesday!
Synergee Collars ($25 delivered) are the best priced quality collars on the market.
Your videos are really helpful (I was shopping for my home gym) ! Thanks for the work!!!
You're welcome! Glad they're useful for you.
Those aluminum look nice
Rogue Aluminum for sure, I only use them for deadlifts though. I use the cheap plastic ones for everything else.
Yeah I'm with you there. I kinda want another pair but they aren't cheap

some people say he was never there at all...
Man I'm watching you
I'm not sure if I should be scared or not
Great vid just ordered the aluminum oso collars
I bought the cheapest ebay aluminum OSO copy collars and i've had no problems, I've had them for over 2 years now.
A man who lives dangerously!
One of the two of you in the video is clearly a vampire - having no reflection
Funny you say that because in one of our last videos there's a vampire. Also those are clearly different people, not the same guy.
Look at Coop's garage gym review about the rogue Illuminum A L Collars
I've seen his test and did my own before I watched his. Luckily we're both saying the same thing on it.
I'm looking for collars which would work on one inc normal threaded barbells ...any recommendations
I'm guessing that's 1" standard threaded barbells?

Are those clout fitness collars? The "knockoffs"
These are "Greententljs" but they're all verrrry similar. I put a link in the description.
They are all exactly the same, that you can find for 5 to 10 dollars on AliExpress, or probably on Alibaba with a fee to add your "brand" on them.

The idea is to keep weight on the bar. If your that unbalanced pick a different activity.
