I have no interest in a van for my own purposes.....but I have never been so intrigued and entertained. Love your channel and your ability to entertain all.
Proud Dad of 7 children under 11. We drive a 2018 Transit-350 15 passenger and love it. We removed the center two seats in the back and left the small jump seats. You can fit a Bob double jogging stroller perfectly in the back between the jump seats. We tried the mini-van, and even the Suburban before I caved and bought the big family van. Save yourself time, money, and some major puzzle piecing car seats and buy the Transit-350. You won’t regret it. Also, ours is a low roof model and just fits in our standard two car garage. Thanks for your amazing comparison video.
Who needs techie car tours when you have Flight Attendant Angie? 😂 I am a single woman with not even 1 child and yet here I am watching the whole thing!
Mom of 4 here! Loved your video, thank you for such a thorough walkthrough. We currently have an Odyssey, but after the last couple of trips we’ve taken and our 2 oldest being teenagers now I really feel like something bigger would make our lives much easier. I originally watched your video for more information on the NV and now after watching I think a Transit would fit us better. As a side note, I love your personality. This is the first video I’ve seen of yours, but I can’t wait to see more.
We have a 2018 transit as well. I only have 4 kids and we got a 12 passenger. I love it for storage and travel. I can drive my friends kids around and my nieces.
Same for us- 4 kids 2017 Transit 350, 12 passenger. Without the back rows we can take all our bikes with us on trips too! Great for carpooling. Terrible in the snow though 🫤
I found this to be so interesting and informative. It’s good to see them side by side like that. When you’re at the car dealership, it can be difficult to visualize the differences. When we began camping, we bought a huge Chevy van…there was nothing mini to it! We had one child for 16 years and then we adopted a 15 year old, so our needs were definitely different than yours! But the improvements made to vehicles in the past 30 odd years has been amazing. Thank you for sharing all the information!
Single lady from Norway sitting enjoying this at 2:30 am 🤣 Love your energy and spirit, and pretty interesting ❤ Love and blessings from Johanne, Norway 🇳🇴
Totally gained a subscriber! 😂 I am a mom in search of a vehicle for my family and after googling and googling I came across your page and I lovvvvvve your energy! Thank you so much for the information.
You can open the back doors all the way. The small yellow square right in the middle of the door near the hinge. You pull it out to unlock it and it swings all the way open. But you have to unlock it before the door gets stuck in the open position, if that makes sense. We just got our transit last summer and we absolutely love it! Without the back row (we have a 12 passenger) we can fit our double stroller, plus our beach chairs, plus our Costco groceries in the back…..easily!
If you’re in for a project- a family friend always had a van. And she’d take extra carpet (like indoor - a lot of places will sell scraps for cheap) from wherever or whomever they had extra and cut it and lay it down on the floor of the van. It kept the original nice and new and wouldn’t have to change it all that often and if she traded it in etc it kept the original and looked clean. Once she had a 90s teal van with pink carpet - she didn’t gaf it kept things nice and vacuumed and carpet cleaned well! Just a tip they used :)
First of all, I love this video! We're a family of 7 moving from the Odyssey to a Transit. Our family could all fit in the Odyssey but it's tight with all of us and we never have room for a friend or three like we do with the Transit 😍 Indeed, these vehicles are hard to come by unless you're ordering them from the dealership! We snagged ours used by sheer luck! My favorite part with the Transit is I can literally walk from the drivers seat to the back to help buckle my kiddos in. It's amazing! I'm a shorter gal (5'2") and do not have the extra tall one like you do. Being able to fully stand sounds delightful but we have very cold winters here in Minnesota and I love parking in the garage 😬 Thank you for taking the time to make this video, Angie!!! As always, you're such a delight!
We recently moved from the NV to a Transit mid roof too. Great review! I’m a mom to 9 bio/adoptive/foster children. We have goats, horses, chickens and dogs (including a Great Pyrenees). I homeschool some of our kids too. I never knew we could outgrow our NV, but here we are 😆
@@mandaleemilly6367 haha. Maybe 💁♀️ Except home interiors, beauty and fashion aren’t my strengths at all 😅 But some friends compliment each other’s strengths, right?
We have 4 kids and a high roof 15 passenger transit with extended length. Only have 9 seats in it because one child uses a power wheelchair. Had a lift put in the sliding door side of the van. We still have so much room for equipment, extra wheelchair, and luggage in the trunk area. Can stand up fully at 5’11”. So functional and I enjoy driving it very much!
I have 6 kids and we love love our Nissan NV 3500. We bought ours in 2017 and it has been so fun to customize and also it has just been so reliable. It’s Also a super easy drive.
Mom of 9. LOVE our transit. Absolutely love it. Drives like a car. My transit has the butterfly side doors and I prefer it that way with my littles. Much easier to shut, no worries of kids getting smashed in doors. Agree about the bells and whistles, they’re not there, but it makes up for it in other areas. Ours ha leather seats and it’s GREAT. Lol. You forgot to mention the size of the sun-visors. The first time my mom saw them she told me that I could, “Bake cookies on that sheet pan!” 😂 You can extend the back doors It’s that yellow/red tab. You just slide it and they push out and extend.
@@myhandsrfullofluv4225 I got tickled when she said “I don’t see anything obvious here.” She’s always so sarcastic that I thought she was joking for a second until I realized she wasn’t. 😂 I wanted to hop through the screen to show here because the butterfly back doors are awesome! My husband has used our transit to transport lumber, dry wall, the works. He has said even if we didn’t have 9 kids he’d still want a transit.
Very informative. So glad to see the information about the gas access needing to have the door open to fill. Not a fan of that, in NJ we can't pump our own gas so that is a drawback to consider, waiting on an attendant in say the heat or winter with needing the door open the whole time.
32:53 - The dogs in the background!!! LOL!!! SO CUTE. I'm an empty nester but still loved this video - hopefully Nissan and Ford have listened to your video and see what Moms are looking for
I can’t wait to get one of these! We’ll have around 5-7 kids, maybe more! but please share where this pull over is from- so cute!!! You’re so funny and amazing and pretty and I love you 💕 😂
I have 5 kids pregnant with our 6 we just got a nv and I love it! We came from a suburban. Towing was something I kept in mind. So definitely wanted the 3500
I appreciate the honesty right up front. Now I don't have to watch the video I just send the link to my wife and I'm off to go watch technical in-depth explanations on the interworks of this machine.
I love the transit! My brother has one, and he has 5 kids. It was so nice when we visited them that we could all fit in one vehicle. We had my brother, his wife, their 5 kids, my mom, my husband, our son, and myself. We were all able to get in/out and around car seats and all the winter coats just fine. It was so nice to be able to stand up and move around. I’m only 5’2” so it was really easy for me. 😂
We need a van and this video came on time. I'm going to replay when the little ones go to sleep, so I can really get the details. I'm already voting on one. 👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks so much for sharing Angela.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
SUPER helpful, thank you!! Don’t have too many kids for the Odyssey, BUT I’ve got tall teens now, and travel sports in our future. Thanks for this video! ❤
I remember when you rented this van to go to Florida you wanted one because of the space with all the children. I’m past the age needing a van, however when my son was looking for an SUV, they chose because of needs, they have 3 seats, middle seats for grandchildren, 3rd seat for passengers and the back seat folds for the family pet. You are the best for describing the difference between the vehicles for any person who is not a car person.❤️❤️❤️❤️. Is this van easy to park and back up?
We currently have the Mercedes-Benz Metris. It has great cargo space for a van but seats 7 like a mini van. However it's 10 inches wider than the mini van and 8 inches taller so it's built to fit adults and doesn't have that dumb middle seat minivans have but does come with the side isle lol its pretty much a big silver brick I drive now but I love it. It's a smaller passenger van but we only have 4 kids and a bernese mountain dog so we needed something that was bigger than a minivan and I think we hit the jackpot
Hi transit drivers! My hubby drives one for work and I found a cell phone holder specifically for that triangle spot. It keeps his phone in a great location and is out of the way. Also made in America! We found it on the A-Tach mounts website. We also ordered magnet holder and a new phone case with built in magnet. He said it has been the best because he lives in his van and doesn’t slide all over the place.
Yes!!!!! Having a phone mount makes a world of a difference! ❤ We put one in our transit. But I’m about to look up the one you’re sharing in your comment. 🙌 Thanks for sharing!
Oh and Angela, you probably know by now, but the yellow thingies in the back doors have a switch that unlocks the door so it swings all the way open and around
I love my Transit!!! It’s amazing! We can finally all travel together and we put a wagon and our baby’s stroller in the back. The back doors over-extend and open by pulling that yellow latch next to the emergency-open-door-pull thingy.
Awesome comparison video! We are currently driving a GMC Savanna and while it is brilliant, we are going to need an upgrade soon enough. Thanks for going through the 2 vans.
Great video! Loved it. You crack me up. My husband is in the bus & van industry, and he loves the transit vans. Simple and super functional. He is 6’5” and enjoys driving them. If we ever decide to convert a van for travel, it will be a transit. And yes you are correct, the wait for new Transits and vehicle chassis in general is tough right now.
This was a very helpful video to get a good mom tour of these vans! Our family needs to size up with a new baby coming (very soon!) and we're weighing the pros and cons between the Nissan and the Ford. I'm curious, one year out from having a Ford, do you have an update? Are you still happy with it and finding it to be an improvement for your family over the Nissan?
highly enjoyed this review! you made me giggle. I think I have said the same thing before about looking like I'm there to fix your AC or deliver packages with the NV. lol We are going to look at one Friday. I'm losing a lot of fun bells and whistles with my 2020 Pacifica, but I miss having a truck and I cannot seem to bring myself to even look at a Ford. I just can't. It's such a neat looking vehicle. Until they come out with something else, I'm going for the NV.
We have a 2017 Nissan NV we bought in 2018. We LOVE it! We also expect to get a transit eventually as well. Sad, the transits were super cheap to buy back in 2018 , not anymore. Now with Nissan NV no longer being made, transits are really are only visble choice for our next van. In our case, we keep our vehichles permanently meaning the van we own will be in our family for decades. I got my 1999 Honda CRV when my 2nd oldest was around 3-4, and I STILL have this CRV and son will be 25 this fall! I drove all my kids in this thing, crazy but true. And funny too we upgraded our 2004 Honda Odyssey with our 2017 NV but we STILL kept the Honda too. I like to get around 25 years out of a vehichle and we do! 😳😉😍😁😁😁😁😁
@@angela.braniff We get super attached to our vans and cars and we joke that we should get classic plates for my CRV! 🤣 One car loan paid off super fast and then no more payment till I'm decades older works for me. With many biological and internationally adopted kids. ( with one stuck still in China since 2020 we STILL wait for 😥) ages, almost 27-9 and us considering getting back into foster care once again after decades away from it..we still need another van, so Thank You again for making this video!
On the back doors pull the yellow pulls. And the doors open all the way. I have a 2015 Ford Transit 350. My side door is not a sliding door. Ours is a two door. You can tow with the Ford Tranist 350. My is also a 15 passenger van.
This was so nice to see them side by side! We have 4 kids right now and our mini van is getting to the end of its life. We are currently trying to decide if we get another mini van or a larger passenger vehicle
Thanks for this video! We only have 3 kids, but are a bmx family. I'm hoping to upgrade my Escape so I can haul all the kids, bikes, and Great Danes. 🤣
We have been looking at the transit 350 xlt. We have teenage twins in wheelchairs plus another set of twins. We currently have a handicap minivan and if we go anywhere there isn’t any room for luggage. Thank you for posting this!!!
I only got two, one on the way. But I still love the big family videos, they’re just so sweet an educational. I won’t probably ever need a vehicle like those but hey, who knows lol. Maybe someone I know will.
We had a 2021 SL NV (last year before they discontinued them), nothing changed since 2013, AC still doesn't work, no added features, only thing is they are built horribly now and are not the reliable vans that they once were. There is an aftermarket AC kit manufactured by an NV owner that decided to address the problem, it helps significantly, but costs $500 and requires ripping out the entire interior of the van to install. We also had a 2020 transit and we absolutely loved it, so much more spacious, more features, way better for carseat installation, and double the MPG.
You definitely can open the back doors all the way. Its a yellow latch in the door. Have fun! We love ours, we have the tall so its longer, but exactly the same otherwise. Celine Dion🤣, lol.
Great video thanks Angie I was wondering if you could possibly do an updated video on your intermittent fasting journey I know you mentioned you might do one in a previous video Thanks for all the wonderful content you provide
Hi, nice work on the video it was really helpful and was just what i needed. We are looking at getting a 3500 and was wondering how it would do in snow? have you had any issues in snow being a 2wd?
When our 7 kids were younger we had a Ford E350 15 passenger van. Loved it! We also took the back row out, making it an 11 passenger with lots of storage space.
Those yellow squares on the back doors on the transit open the doors like the NV in my transit. My Transit is a low roof 2017. I would think yours do too.
Awesome video... Do you know that little slit to the right of the steering wheel is a phone holder? Works awesome when you need GPS. Just shove your phone down into it...
We got a transit this past summer so that we can more comfortably roadtrip with our 5 kids. We got a 10 passenger (driver passenger, 2 seater bench, 3 seater bench, 3 seater bench) and I LOVE. THIS. VAN. The space is amazing. And honestly, bc the height of the trunk matches the height of the car, packing wasn't an issue- i stacked sterilite containers straight up. My only current dilemma is how best to use that shelf above the driver/front passenger. (FYI, do NOT place anything hard up there, it sure hurts to get bonked in the head by audiobook cases when your hubby brakes hard or hits a bump!) I am trying to figure out how to string a bungee or something across so it can become usable storage space for tissues, wet wipes etc. Ideas would be appreciated!
Loved this! I only have 3 kids at home now and one just turned 16 and got her own car, so she is a short timer too. But oh the possibilities of removing that back row and customizing it!! I'd have shelves and untelling what else 🤣 how nice the transit is to be able to go to the back and not get out if it's pouring the rain or cold!
Not sure if I am giving duplicate info., but, in our transit, if you open the back barn doors and look at the lock lever, it says lock and unlock. Pulling towards yourself will allow you to fully open those doors. Pushing it away from you keeps the door from slamming shut while you are putting things back there. I hope this is helpful and not just saying something someone else told you.😜
We own a suburban and need larger. Looking at the Sprinter, Transit, NV3500, and the Express/Savannah. So hard to make a decision but seeing others videos are helping
I don't know where you are in your journey but, we have an Express 3500 extended 12 passenger. It's amazing and the ability to go from the front to the back and the trunk is priceless. Cons, virtually zero technology, small backup camera.
They've been (along with the creepy white Chevy vans 🤣) in the back of my mind. We currently have 4 kiddos, but may soon outgrow our little Mazda 5, and need something to pull as well! Thanks for this video, super helpful
We bought a 2018 Transit XLT midroof 12 passenger last June so we could take another child in (foster care). I love it so much! Buckling 5 kids in carseats is so simple now that I can walk around in the van. Ours has leather and most of the upgrades which was a sweet surprise when I found it but even without those things, it is just such a convenient vehicle to own when you have a bunch of kids. The cargo space in the 12 passenger is huge. And the doors do fold back all the way. A mom had to be in on the designing process of this van. Even the vinyl floors are genius!
Love watching your videos Angie! You always crack me up. I’m considering upgrading from our Kia carnival mini van. We have 5 kids right now and I hate that I can’t haul their friends along. My biggest concern is that we enjoy traveling and visit cities often. Also visiting the city often for court hearing for our foster babies and I’m worried how in the world you fit in the parking garages? Is it possible? Or must you find parking elsewhere? 🤔
We have Diono Radians as well, and I have read in a couple of places that they don't install very securely in Transit seat forward facing... that they wiggle around due to the placement of the seatbelts. They say rear facing installation is fine. Have you found this to be a problem? Thank you!
You’re 5’8?!?! I’ve been watching you for years, how have I never caught this?! You and CR have always given me short vibes lol I seriously would have thought you were 5’2
Question.. you said in the Nissan that the seats behind driver do not have top tethers, how do you have a forward facing seat installed there then? Does the diono not require it? Great video btw, exactly what Mome need…to hear the nitty gritty mom stuff.
I have no interest in a van for my own purposes.....but I have never been so intrigued and entertained. Love your channel and your ability to entertain all.

Great video! We are currently looking for an upgrade. We are a family of 5 with a St Bernard! Trying to find something with more room!
The comment about woman vs man measuring 😂😂😂 had me rolling. It's so very true
Good comparison. Good luck for your channel
Love this video! We just had our 5th baby and are in a Honda odyssey.. planning for a bigger car asap. 😂
I have been waiting for this video from you and hoping it would come up before we bought our van this year!! Thanks ❤❤
I hope it's helpful!
highly enjoyed this review! you made me giggle.
25 years is IMPRESSIVE!
Love this. You're hilarious!
The excitement I got when I saw this video pop up in my feed! We are on the hunt for a bigger vehicle and we are trying to decide between these two 😊
On the back doors pull the yellow pulls. And the doors open all the way. I have a 2015 Ford Transit 350. My side door is not a sliding door. Ours is a two door. You can tow with the Ford Tranist 350. My is also a 15 passenger van.
We love our NV, and I would agree, my #1 pet peeve is the dang cup holder. I have spilled SOOO many drinks.
Ok, I found your video very interesting, informative and I really enjoy watching it 🤜
Glad you enjoyed it!
You can easily add a “rear view mirror camera” system that clips over your current rear view mirror.
This is absolutely amazing! We just brought a new car and my goodness the stress. X
This was so nice to see them side by side! We have 4 kids right now and our mini van is getting to the end of its life. We are currently trying to decide if we get another mini van or a larger passenger vehicle
Im really liking the ford, its like a sprinter without the price tag. The walkway is a huge plus after I take out 2 of the seats.
Your amazing. I love watching you it brings me joy whenever I get some free time lol we also have 8 kids. We would love to find a transit
Elf King.......really......Im sure your a great mom and wife....Great video on pros and cons........Im 5'-8"......Elf King....
You're my fav!! Dont need a van but here I am anyway! 💞
Great video thanks Angie
I was wondering if you could possibly do an updated video on your intermittent fasting journey I know you mentioned you might do one in a previous video
Thanks for all the wonderful content you provide
I think you should just start reviewing cars, I was laughing out loud. Great review!!
I'm not looking for a bigger van but I. Loved watching this!
Very helpful. Thanks for such a thorough comparison! I’d love to hear an updated review of the Transit now that you’ve had it for a while.
Are you able to pull your camper with the Ford transit?
They've been (along with the creepy white Chevy vans 🤣) in the back of my mind. We currently have 4 kiddos, but may soon outgrow our little Mazda 5, and need something to pull as well! Thanks for this video, super helpful
Far cry from the station wagons for aunt and uncle would squish 8 kids into and come to visit us in the summer.
You can open the backdoors all the way. I have a transit too but the short one.
The mid-roof does not fit in most parking garages, you'd want to find out in advance if they have oversized vehicle parking available.
"If it's morning and you're having wine you should probably see somebody about that."
All the little jokes just made this so entertaining❤
I drive a transit 350 also- i love it.
We ordered our high roof extended cab back in 05/2021. We still haven't heard when it will be ever on the production line. 😳
Oh my gosh. I’ve never laughed so much at a van video 😂 we would be very good friends 🤣🤣
You and CR have always given me short vibes lol I seriously would have thought you were 5’2
Fun video! Also - your hoodie!! I think I need this in my life - where did you get it?! Have a great day everyone!
I was looking for this comment 😄 Was also wondering where it was from!
Question.. you said in the Nissan that the seats behind driver do not have top tethers, how do you have a forward facing seat installed there then? Does the diono not require it? Great video btw, exactly what Mome need…to hear the nitty gritty mom stuff.
"I know 12 inches when I see it" I laughed Out Loud!!!
Lol I thought I was the only one that constantly hit my cup on the gear shift of our NV and spill my beverages. So.many.times!
