I got fitted this year into the SimMax2 line and realized that I had lost about 20 yards on my drives. And I was fit into a non upgraded shaft. So I decided to do a year round live 'fitting' by buying a number of shafts and heads to see which I liked best. So right now I have 5 SimMax or SimMax2 heads and a number of new shafts, ranging from the stock EvenFlow 50 up to and including the $500 Graphite Design Tour AD IZ 5. I also have a used Aldila Rip 50g, a Mitsu Diamana S Limited 60 g also in R flex, a UST ProForce V2 HL, a KBS Tour TD 50 in R2, a Fujikura Pro 2.0 50g, my originally fitted Evenflow Riptide 50 5.5, a 'made for' Mitsu Kura Kage Silver and a real Mitsu 5th Gen black Kuro Kage shaft. After about 100 rounds with these shafts the Mitsu 5th Gen KK and the KBS Tour AD 50 are head and shoulders above the rest. Less dispersion but more importantly clearly 20+ yards more than any of the others. I will set an appointment to hit the range with a launch monitor to try and break the tie between these two but clearly the premium shafts have value unless you are on a very tight budget.
Have read in a few different places recently that the LH adapter in a RH head fits the same way round if wanting to play in standard loft/lie. Its only when you try to higher or lower loft it works the opposite way round ie higher marking makes the head lower lofted.
Had exactly that recently - am lefty, fitted at my club and with Taylormade with RH tip spun 180. When my driver came with LH tip set at 0, I found was totally wrong. 0 and 180 is exactly the same whether RH or LH tip. Other increments would be affected which way you turn the shaft with the opposite tip to how you play.
Half a good video! It clearly demonstrated from the right weight shaft to too light. This is not the direction most golfers have the problem with. It would have been good to see him continue to also hit shafts too heavy so we could all recognise the actual problem we mostly tend towards - wanting too stiff a shaft. Schaun
I have the Ventus Blue 'R' stock shaft in all my woods. The Ventus is great. I moved from the Tensei Blue in the Taylormade M3 to Ventus Blue in SIM (1). The stock Ventus is NOT the custom Ventus-velocore ($350) shaft.
What if you add lead tape for swingweight with a bias for draw or fade to a stiffer flex shaft. You would create a slingshot effect with momentum choosing club path.
I enjoy 2nd Swing content, but I would think most of us average golfers in mid and high cap levels that swing 85-100 mph don't gain the best value from these where someone that swings 115+ mph would get different results.
I just got fitted into a smoke black rdx 70 i dont feel like i have a really fast swing speed but i was hitting the ball right down the middle my ball speed was about 140 to 150

Please portray your dispersion circles accurately. The wide dispersion circle of the air speeder 45g shaft is portrayed much larger than where the shots were dispersed.
the dispersion circles extrapolate to a confidence range with a normal distribution. My guess would be a 90% confidence interval. With 5 shots you dont see as much of the data going into the circle being drawn. since there was a lot of draw and slice in the shots the dispersion is wide and you could reasonably expect some more shots to end up further out. If the hit many more, you would see the circle be tighter around the data set.
Very interesting. Not sure why the fitter gave me this. Stock shape with the TM was straight/slight fade, all over the place with the Cobra. Really would appreciate a reply, thanks.
Ususally its the other way, people get shafts that are too light and it makes them very inconsistent, heavier shafts are generally more stable. 75g is more than normal for a driver though, mine is a x stiff but only 60 grams
It doesn’t seem like the air speeder’s dispersion pattern circle actually represented the tightness of the cluster compared to the others… seems like the left side of the circle was quite over exaggerated away from the actual farthest left shot…

The normal 10-12 handicap guy gets nothing out of this, how many golfers hit the ball 320 yards. This guy hits all of them good. Bring up an average golfer and see how the shafts act for them. I guess maybe these are made for pros.

1st, you should do a shaft preview with a golfer who can hit the driver consistently Thomas is to worried about swing speed and slices, hooks and sprays the ball all over. 2nd, why an 8* clubhead? 80% of all golfer would do much better to 10-12* Thomas being one of those.. Can everyone at 2nd Swing just stop saying “golf” in front of everything? Can’t we just say “shaft” instead of “golf shaft” three times in one sentence?
1st, you should do a shaft preview with a golfer who can hit the driver consistently Thomas is to worried about swing speed and slices, hooks and sprays the ball all over. 2nd, why an 8* clubhead? 80% of all golfer would do much better to 10-12* Thomas being one of those.. I know they think they can smash the 8-9* but they cant, just like this guy. Slow down Thomas you will find your control speed. I'm guessing 108-110 mph. Yeah I've fitted a few as well. Love your vids this one missed the mark
Accra or Oban
Your show is REALLY POINTLES - a vast majority of people who watch golf vlogs are "blessed" with the golf swing speeds BELOW 100 mph.
lol what about txg? they do the same thing

I actually prefer that. Inconsistency obscures what the shaft is really doing.
U should swing faster…I bet u can come out of ur shoes if you try… geeez slow down dude..ur almost outta breath
Not a fan, all different flex and just a guy hitting balls and complaining about what doesn’t work for him…. Not independent at all. I’ll stick with TXG
Way to compare shafts that should not be compared to each other. Stiff comparing to x stiff should of titled this what works for me. Loll terrible video IMO
