I'm an ok golfer, handicap of 4.4 and club head speed of about 110mph with a driver. I would probably lean toward using the Sim2 Max just for the extra forgiveness and help on the off-days. I hate feeling like I have to fight a club to get the most out of it; the more forgiveness the better for me.
i liked the sims 4 too wasn’t too bad they need to release a new version and i still don’t understand why they’ve never added online capabilities to sims
You also committed to us to teach us how to play better golf and make better decisions about what we might want to consider putting in our bags. You definitely owe the club (and us) more comparisons between the two. As an engineer, 5 shots is not enough to be statistically significant when the numbers are this close. Keep at it Pete!
Bought the Cobra Radspeed, gave up on it after 8 weeks. Start with Sim2 Max tomorrow after a trial at Trafford Golf Centre. The last 8 weeks have been soul destroying. Fingers crossed.
In light of coronavirus I have just lost my job... I have started my Break par series in the hope I can bring joy to anyone also going through a tough time! A like and a watch would mean so much! THANKS ANDREW FOR THE INSPIRATION!!!
You say you have a lot of spin on you drives. What kind of spin rate do you generally see with your gamer driver? Because I struggle with having a lot of spin on my drives as well.
I'm still using my original Odyssey white hot sharp shooter putter from like 15 years ago . Gone through a couple grip changes but other than that same old putter and i love it
If there was ever a video to highlight the importance of getting fitted this would be it. The shaft will make or break a golf club and this video is testament to it. Great video and I'm still keen to try a SIM2 driver for sure.
@@goutfromfriedokra7099 no good if those twenty five yards are far left or right. Give me a driver with great dispersion over a rocket ship driver every day.
Would have really liked to have seen the stats of the SIM2 with the SIM2 Max! Is there much of a difference between the two and how much more forgiving is the Max? I'm just an average golfer trying to hit the ball further and straighter 😁👍
In light of coronavirus I have just lost my job... I have started my Break par series in the hope I can bring joy to anyone also going through a tough time! A like and a watch would mean so much! THANKS ANDREW FOR THE INSPIRATION!!! hahah lol
iv just orderd the sim 2 in a 9degree head and the 70g hazaduz smoke rdx blue shaft. iv had it out on demo from my local pro shop foe 4/5 rounds and love it. cant wait for it to arriver and get in in the bag.
My personal experience... I went from a titilest driver that I got with a box set. With the titilest driver I was trying to carry 200 yards. I went and tried ( and bought) the SIM Max D driver and look out!!! I'm now carrying 240-250 yard's! From the first swing I was pulling out money to buy it! The D cut my slice dramatically. Plus the Xtra distance is a game changer. I'm a very high handicapper (100+) So this driver is in my bag and my mate cringes when I pull it out 🤣😂🤣😂🤣. Awesome studio Pete!
Great review. I really like your new approach of testing. Maybe you could a small scoring summery in the end, showing how the new driver performed compared to the previously tested.
It just shows you the importance of getting fit. With the right shaft, sim 2 works well. Without the right shaft configuration it's very poor. Keep it up Peter. Cheers
The “average golfer” is hit driving 300-350 yard drives man. Idk what make him think that is average lol. I have the sim 2 and I went from never being able to drive past 245 to my best strike rolling out to 260-270 yard. Very happy with it! And I’m for sure more on the average side. 95-100 mph club head speed.
"please don't report the video" LMFAO god I love your humor Peter. Always have these lil hidden jokes...love your video's! Keep up the great work...million subscribers soon! Cheers
Great video and loving the sense of humour. Just shows how important the shaft is. I cannot get my 3 wood in the air off the deck. When I had a lesson the pro said with the shaft fitted you have no chance!
REALLY REALLY GREAT REVIEW PETE. Think you need to get to Taylormade and have a proper fitting to see what the SIM2 can really do............ It could be a beast ..............
Morning Pete.. Watched this video after watching the Taylormade video with the 6 pros. All i can say is hold your horses til you get a chance to go see the guys and see which Sim 2 suits you.. Too be truthfull i think you will swap once that has been done..imo. great vids everytime.
What this has proved is we need more understanding and reviews about shafts, their technology and what it means for differing swings etc. We’re focusing on the meat of the roast when we all know the gravy is what makes it. (And the spuds...don’t forget the spuds)
Interesting video surely the biggest thing out of that is how much the right shaft and setup makes the difference. Would be good to see you re do the initial test with the shaft you finished with.
Great vid Im no coach but in the beginning when you were hitting it left it looked like your were sliding abit on the downswing. I could be wrong, might have just been the camera angle. Interesting findings, maybe a compare vid on the past few years of TM drivers to see if theres actually any difference 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
really liked the review, do you think it's suitable Driver for a 12.5 handicapper? I'm playing with a Titleist D13 with a Phenom stiff shaft, I'm hitting the ball 190m - 220m, my Pro tells me that the Titleist hits too short, this is why I'm now researching for a new Driver, SIM 2, Cobra Radspeed or Titleist TSi 2 or 3.
it seemed to me that your dispersion was higher with SIM2? Is it really worth swapping your driver for 1 yard, particularly as you said it is a difficult club to hit? What if you had an off day with the SIM2?
I think you need a fitting session as you seem confused by all these contradictory results. Maybe an external independant view would be beneficial. Have fun exploring.
Kind of glad I didn't wait for the sim2. I got the sim max just a few weeks ago and from the videos I've seen and yours it just makes me feel more confident in the choice instead of waiting for these.
Got fit for SIM 2 and it was forgiving as all heck in my opinion , and retained spin on high toe where I tend to miss . Moral of the story.....every player is different .
Great video as always Peter! I was a little confused as to why you never tested the SIM2 with your current shaft straight away. I think your swing is tuned perfectly to that shaft. Thanks!
I’m a weekend hack at best but interested in this driver. Is the fitting where you learn what shaft is best? It sure seems to have a heck of an impact...
Just bought the sim 2, yet to see what it's like on the course! Hit it on the range and felt great, and yes I has a similar experience taking the plastic off! 🤤
Really like your new review format. And on this one.... its almost like you can see 100 little blokes running round your head in bafflement all shouting WTF for different reasons!!! Brilliant honest review from someone that plays and raved about original SIM 👍
Love how much inner turmoil this club caused Pete 😂. Hopefully things clear up soon so we can see a course vlog with this club and if his opinion changes at all
😂 LOL. O man I feel for you. I think you should have done a bit of back and forth testing at the end there so one set of swings wasn't more loose or whatever. Just to make sure it's the club vs the swing getting faster and straighter.
With how different the shafts performed wouldn't this be a great video to note how much improvement players can gain in getting a proper fitting. P.S. love the long pause during the unwrapping.
Great video. The sim 2 looks amazing. Do you think you should do some of your early testing where you don't know what shaft is on the club. This is only to remove you personal bias out of the judging. It would be great to see the number on that test.
Great video Pete - although I've never seen someone so dissapointed to hit 345+ consistently!! I really liked the frankness of the review and your thought processes during testing - I think the moral of the story is that anyone considering one of these needs to get fit. Cheers
Ouch! is all I can say about that score. Oh i should’ve waited until the end 🤣. Good luck with your new driver. Interested to see how it would compare with the max though.
I love the accuracy test. If you ever have to play that hole in a competition, all these water balls from driver testing will mess with your head haha great video.
Hi everyone, thanks for dropping in 👋 Did I make the right choice? Which driver have you got your eye on?
This just completely justifies that you should always get fit... Great content Pete!
Nice content

I’d stick with the trusted SIM. SIM2 needs more time to be fitted properly. Good video 👍
My wife prefers Sims 4 but I personally enjoyed the original Sims with the vacation expansion.

Loving the new testing set up. The exposed brick really makes it.
I've never been more jealous of a room in my life.
Also, the new SIM2 looks amazing
The place looks great, but Pete is going to get whiplash from trying to watch his display after he hits the ball. He needs a screen to hit into. IMO 😆
Go have a chat with the TXG lads about the shaft making such a large difference in performance.
I love how a few years ago Pete was struggling to hit 350 with driver, and now he hits a 342 yard drive without even trying that hard.
Love the colour of this new SIM. I like the fact you seemed upset to be hitting a 355 yards drive 🤣
Sponsored by footjoy but still uses a glove with no thumb

Good review. I went from the Callaway Epic Max to the Sim 2 and picked up an honest 15-20 yards and I hit more fairways now. It is worth the hype.
I’ll have to wait for the Stim(ulus) 2 before I move on from the Sim 1.
That reaction to the 352 yard first hit 😂

Love my F9 Driver.
Sounds very much down to the specific golfer.. Rixk shields couldnt tell the difference and yerself noticed massive changes...
Great review as always
Still the new ping for me so far. Great tests pete 🙏🏻
I agree. The new Ping driver looks awesome and I’d take that over most this year.
no. the Taylor made is 25 yards longer because of carbon
@@goutfromfriedokra7099 no good if those twenty five yards are far left or right. Give me a driver with great dispersion over a rocket ship driver every day.

No difference
Just shared this video on our Facebook GCT Forum. So important to have the right shaft!
After a year I still want the SIM driver.
You and Rick Shiels timed this video very well
I mean, there had probably been an embargo :P
Don't know about you, but I watched this one first.
It’s almost as if Taylormade gave everyone a date to upload the reviews
Yea its almost as if Taylormade sent them both the driver at the same time, and they uploaded as soon as possible. Crazy...
They filmed on golf courses in UK and due to them now being closed it would indicate an embargo, they're not the only to release today either
Moral of the story: shaft matters.
I got. a whippy Mitsubishi that is light and extended to 48...it's a beast, now I average 350 yards
Getting fit matters :)
