The funny is that when John says "send it to Jim Milton, and no it ain't my real name" if you play it with Arthur he will say almost that but instead of "Jim Milton" he says "Tacitus Kilgore"
Jim boy calloway killed 14 men once. Arthur: hold my beer. Responsible for all the lemoyne raiders, o'Driscoll gang, and 100s of others deaths singluarly.

King of the Daddy's Yeah, Dutch, Lenny or Charles (don’t remember) and Arthur were going to rob a station in Saint Denis, Because Alden said it was full of money. But when they robbed it all the cops in Saint denis showed up in a few seconds after. Plus all they got was $15 so Alden lied and set them up.
From what Belle tells Arthur, the only thing Calloway did in gunfights is run and hide. Same thing is mentioned by the Marshall when you bring him to Calloway. Calloway never showed up for their duel.
Jimmy Calloway's Cousin is ALIVE. If wondering who is he is, It's the Doctor from Valentine. If you buy something in his shop, He'll mention his cousin saying "My cousin Jimmy......(forgot the rest of the Dialog)" which means Slim Grand Didn't/never shot Calloway's cousin because Jim Boy was probably drunk while away from a fight like Black Belle mention

@@michaellorah9051 I could see her liking Dutch before he goes nuts, and seeing as you tend to meet her relatively early on Dutch would still be mostly sane?
Jim boy may be a coward but he also felt really bad when he shot him in the back, meaning he wanted an honorable duel and to get his revenge fair and square. P.S shooting someone in the back is the most Dishonorable thing you could do in the old west.
Wrong Courier 6 well, it was the most dishonorable thing to do in the romanticized Wild West we’ve created that Jim Calloway abides by. In the real Wild West, happened all the time.
10:55 if you antagonize the del lobos they’ll let you talk to Flaco without a fight. The cutscene still plays out the same and the gang turns hostile when Flaco does, but all the gang members will flee after Flaco dies.
it says that regardless as i didnt get to looking at pictures till after i was john was just too busy then forget and came back to it jack says that about the book no matter what .. so i think its a seprate book then the one jack refers to ..as jack was refering to one that was only about jim and his one friend but didnt include his other friends and was seperate side story .... vs a complete history ....
I noticed out of all the gunslingers, billy was significantly younger, with him probably being fairly early 40's he probably still has his speed which made him so famous.
In the old west there actually was a couple of duels that were legit. Only like 2 famous duels were real though the rest of the gunslinger stories were just crazy drunkin shootouts and robberies gone bad.
I'm sorry but I love calloway oddly after I saw his odd speed and skill I just couldn't say he isnt legendary.... his character sadly resonates with mine
"What were they like, then? Those days they all talk about" "Same as now, I guess. Only longer ago" That's a really good line that frankly applies to every age, not just to the Wild West.
I’m always eating sausage and meatballs when I watch videos about Jim Boy Calloway and the other gunslingers, but now I’m eating cornflakes, so this sucks! Good video as always.
@@KevinCCucumber yes I understand that bro. But I love the looting lol. I love stockpiling everything I need and that I can sell. Plus I never speed play. I'm more of a complete precision gamer. I've already beat this game 100% quite a few times and I can't get enough of it. Always something to do.
If you antagonize Flaco's fellow Del Lobos instead of greeting them, they don't initiate a battle, they just let you talk to Flaco, and after you kill him they all just scatter.
If you read the biography on the Del Lobo Gang, it specifically says that loyalty isn't something that they consider important and it's seen in this scene.
This why I kinda believe the "Red is Uncle" theory people throw around. It makes a lot more sense if you consider that Red was a folk hero gunslinger who likely did none of the things people said he did, disappeared, and had a legacy attached to him after the fact by a dime store novel about his life that was written by someone else, just like Jim Calloway. Red is the larger-than-life figure, Uncle is the shadow of that person.
I'm a writer aficionado myself, I write stories for kids, I'm still learning. But one of the first things I learned is that "lying" or making up unbelievable stuff is more efficient than being realistic, the ending Levin came up with is genius, he is an excellent writer.
Fun fact if you complete the entire stranger mission as Arthur during the epilogue beginning cut scene Jack Marston mentions reading Boy Callaway's biography
*Theodore: Do you think anyone noticed it was you?* *John: Noticed? The People **_I shot noticed._* *But he didnt shot those Gunslingers Arthur did!* *I mean in this Video.*
I believe honour and dishonour did and does exist, both back then and now. Although I'm sure many a story is romanticisation of the survivors by them and their peers.
He was still the fastest compared to the other gunslingers. Flaco Hernandez was also pretty fast and his little trick of jumping sideway and drawing up a sawed off shotgun if you doesn't kill him right on the first bullet during the duel is pretty badass. Emmett Granger have balls to do a revolver duel armed with a throwing knife and he was also pretty fast especially considering the fact that he used a damn throwing knife....
Yeah, if Im not wrong Jim Boy Calloway has the fastest drawing speed in the game for an npc meaning that the only way of winning is cheating or at the very best it will end as a draw (both you and him death)
I have a challenge for you: a video explaining how the van der linde gang could have succeeded in the game after every chapter, let me explain: You need to say what the gang could have done to have success in their plans after each chapter, for example: chapter 1, how could the gang succeeded after the blackwater fail? chapter 2: how could they have succeeded after the events of chapter one, etc. Winning condition: the gang gets enough money and vanish (either to the west or to TAHITI, your choice) Losing Condition: The gang gets destroyed, arrested or gets any members killed (i won't let you got the easy way out and sacrifice Micah, even if he deserves it) You can be honorable or not, you choice. What do you think? could the gang have succeeded in every chapter? or it was doomed to fail since the beggining?
@@superrknight1858 if after they rescued jack they have gone straight for the bank instead of the failed trolley station and the revenge against bronte they would have a lot of money and no pinkertons in the city already

Something I just realized, was replaying the game again and went to the doctor to rob the secret business for quick money and shot him during it in an accidental Dead Eye lock to the head. He of course was bandaged and put back in his shop. And then after he was fully healed and I went back to his shop he said. “You watch yourself, the name Calloway means something round here.” The Valentine doctor is related to Jim Boy Calloway!
Not true. If you play fair duel him fairly then they note this and move on. Also don't defuse, antagonise, show the gang you have balls. Most reasonable gang I've met. Kill their leader and they see it as the way of life.
Been well over a year I’ve done like 5 play throughs (currently on 6 1st 100% trying my best) and I never bat a eye on these scenes BRILLIANT! Oh and great Video BOAH
If you are new to this game I'd definitely recommend doing the three male gunslingers immediately. They give you some very good and one of a kind guns. Flaco also has a treasure map in his shack.
It's insane that 3 of these dudes were absolutely blasted when you duel them and they STILL draw like they do. Even Calloway, who I expected to be a joke fake-out only to get Arthur's skull perforated five times in a row, makes it seem like he WAS a great gunslinger and maybe he's drinking to forget some things instead
you know you can do this whole questline as Arthur right also you can find a newspaper as Arthur after completing this quest that corroborates a lot of what they tell you like the whole backstory behind midnight and the very real atrocities granger committed or was apart of plus the rest of them
What i like about the little gunslinger stories and cards is that they have interesting stories and such. Me being a huge western nerd, i am fascinated by the stories and gunslinger missions like i am with real life gunslingers in the past. And they make them seem like real life gunslingers with interesting events and such. Also, some of them are probably hugely based off of real stores. Like Billy Midnight, it's said that after his slinger days he would perform plays and such like buffallo bill, and Black Belle probably based on Calamity Jane. The aformentioned, and famous, Otis Miller, maybe based on Jesse James. It's so fucking cool that Rockstar did this.
That's weird, I didn't have to fight the Gang members at Flaco's place, I just asked them where he was and talked to him, after I killed him they either ran off or just sat there, I forget which.
I found out in my current playthrough of the game that if you threaten the gang member who demands to know what you're doing there, they'll say "ok, if it's just questions, he's in that cabin." and let you just walk up. Then after, when you will the duel against him, they all run away yelling about how they aren't gonna die for him
I’m always eating sausage and meatballs when I watch videos about Jim Boy Calloway and the other gunslingers, but now I’m eating cornflakes, so this sucks! Good video as always.
For new or returning players who suffer from long term amnesia this mission is the earliest and best way to get a camera that your player can use. I didn’t know about this during my first play through so it was a pleasant surprise.
If you talk to the person in Annesburg during chapter 6, when he says Slim Grant is up at Beaver Hollow hunting down wanted outlaws, could he be referencing the Van der Linde gang?
If you threaten Flaco’s men instead of try to defuse the situation, they’ll let you speak to Flaco. After killing Flaco, his men will hit the dust about half the time.
Of the 5 gunslingers you meet, when they were in their prime the two deadliest in a straight up duel would arguably have been Midnight and Calloway. Their speed and accuracy are insane and they're both old, drunk, and rusty. Hell, midnight is damn near insane. Granger is nothing more than a loudmouth with a temper. Flaco is simply tricky with his unpredictability. Black Belle is practically chaos incarnate and would rather blow shit up than duel straight.
Calloway so fast bro 💀 Cant even imagine him in his prime since he was old and drunk and yet the only way to win as a prime arthur morgan or prime john is by cheating
I wish Arthur had given the writer his name, then he could have had a little portion of his (more than mildly romanticized) history immortalized. He was by far the best gunslinger around, and he deserved to go down in history for it. Just adds to the tragedy, I suppose.
I think most the gun slingers were also suffering from PTSD, the likely acted out of fear and live with a lot of guilt. They are probably terrified making the same mistake twice or becoming the victim of something like them.
In a way all this gunslingers also represent what happened to the Van der Lin gang. They split up and all of them tried to live a normal life only for their past to catch up to them, - Flaco Hernández: Bill Williamson - Black Belle: Sadie Adler - Jim “Boy” Calloway: Dutch Van der Lin - Eugene: Javier Escuela - Billy Midnight: Uncle/Micah
You also don’t have to fight the Del Lobos up in the Grizzlies with Flaco Hernandez. I’m not sure if it depends on where your honor stands, but if you antagonize them, they’ll let you talk to Flaco without so much as batting an eye (in fact they’ll laugh at your “stupidity”).
As Black Belle points out, true legends don't often make spectacles of themselves. The tales are told by other people, but they themselves don't try to build up the myth personally or achieve fame. In a weird way, I'm reminded of the Mass Effect 3 DLC, when Shepard talks to Samara about her heroics as detailed in a magazine called Justicar Heroes. The first thing Samara says is that those stories shouldn't be believed because they hype up the truth for entertainment value. However, with the way the scene plays out, it's heavily implied that the accounts of her heroics as told by the magazine are true.
If you shoot Billy Midnight's gun out of his hand, he will pull out another and shoot himself. Fun for the whole family!
I my last playthrough, I shot the gun out of his hand, then shot him between the eyes when he drew the second gun before he could shoot himself :)

Jericho Jim but black belle ain’t interested in books
It makes a good story but it's not supposed to be fiction

I have a challenge for you: a video explaining how the van der linde gang could have succeeded in the game after every chapter, let me explain:
You need to say what the gang could have done to have success in their plans after each chapter, for example: chapter 1, how could the gang succeeded after the blackwater fail? chapter 2: how could they have succeeded after the events of chapter one, etc.
Winning condition: the gang gets enough money and vanish (either to the west or to TAHITI, your choice)
Losing Condition: The gang gets destroyed, arrested or gets any members killed (i won't let you got the easy way out and sacrifice Micah, even if he deserves it)
You can be honorable or not, you choice.
What do you think? could the gang have succeeded in every chapter? or it was doomed to fail since the beggining?

If you are new to this game I'd definitely recommend doing the three male gunslingers immediately. They give you some very good and one of a kind guns. Flaco also has a treasure map in his shack.
There's also a harmonica inside Granger's house that will be useful in the future.
Fun fact you can leave emmet granger and flaco alive if you shoot them in the leg then knock them out
Levin should have called John to help him make a book about Arthur
You failed to mention that each of the outlaws that you kill has their own special gun you can pick up.
Then after, when you will the duel against him, they all run away yelling about how they aren't gonna die for him
Aw, it feels so weird doing it as John and not Arthur hahah, his reaction to Slim's death is just so much funnier haha, he's stoked
Oh cool you finished the Mission with John?

Of the 5 gunslingers you meet, when they were in their prime the two deadliest in a straight up duel would arguably have been Midnight and Calloway. Their speed and accuracy are insane and they're both old, drunk, and rusty. Hell, midnight is damn near insane. Granger is nothing more than a loudmouth with a temper. Flaco is simply tricky with his unpredictability. Black Belle is practically chaos incarnate and would rather blow shit up than duel straight.

I wish Arthur had given the writer his name, then he could have had a little portion of his (more than mildly romanticized) history immortalized. He was by far the best gunslinger around, and he deserved to go down in history for it. Just adds to the tragedy, I suppose.
"You just took yourself a regular shit shower, Mr. Granger" 😂😂😂 Love that damn line.
Wait wait wait wait I’m not supposed to shoot as soon as possible in a draw...

I think most the gun slingers were also suffering from PTSD, the likely acted out of fear and live with a lot of guilt. They are probably terrified making the same mistake twice or becoming the victim of something like them.
In a way all this gunslingers also represent what happened to the Van der Lin gang. They split up and all of them tried to live a normal life only for their past to catch up to them,
- Flaco Hernández: Bill Williamson
- Black Belle: Sadie Adler
- Jim “Boy” Calloway: Dutch Van der Lin
- Eugene: Javier Escuela
- Billy Midnight: Uncle/Micah
You also don’t have to fight the Del Lobos up in the Grizzlies with Flaco Hernandez. I’m not sure if it depends on where your honor stands, but if you antagonize them, they’ll let you talk to Flaco without so much as batting an eye (in fact they’ll laugh at your “stupidity”).
I love how no one talks about John wearing the same clothes for 4 years😂😂
How tough are you?
*”I killed rocks.”*
this is probably my favourite side mission because of all the unique revolvers you get from the gunslingers
However, with the way the scene plays out, it's heavily implied that the accounts of her heroics as told by the magazine are true.
i dont know how that guy could lie in his stories, i would feel dirty if i did that.
