- Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is a simulator ride attraction at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. The attraction is based on Universal Studios and Illumination Entertainment's 2010 animated film Despicable Me and employs the use of 3-D HD digital animation. The attraction replaced Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast in Florida and Terminator 2 3D in Hollywood.
Universal Orlando Resort announced that the attraction is being designed by their Universal Creative company in association with Illumination Entertainment and Despicable Me film producer Chris Meledandri. The ride is a motion simulator and employs the use of high-definition 3-D Infitec projection systems, and features multiple characters from the film, including Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and the Minions.
The attraction at Universal Studios Florida is located in Soundstage 42 in the Production Central area. The soundstage previously housed The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera 1990 until 2002 and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast from 2003 until 2011. The attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood is located on the former site of T2 3-D: Battle Across Time on the Upper Lot.
After the ride, the door opens to a dance party with the public dancing to "Boogie Fever," along with a costumed Minion.

I was one of the designers and animators on this ride (my section was after Gru says "Happy Anniversary!"). It was my first VR project and seeing it at Universal was a real joy. I'm glad so many of you enjoyed it as well.

@@lunahetfield I always get in line no matter what because people in the long line will start to leave because the line is too long and they look at other rides in the universal app and see the Simpsons ride or Jurassic World is like 10 minutes long. Once they leave, a small portion is left and you’re in the ride. :)

Nobody can truly appreciate this ride until they go on it in person. Last time I went, it was in Hollywood. I went twice, and it was fun.
I always laugh at the part where Gru says some of y'all didn't shower for a week. and don't go to the pool 🤣🤣🤣

YAY another 3D ride, and I love Despicable Me. I am searching for these rides in Universal Studios places becasue actual rides hurt me. Like between the ears feels uncomfortable. So any rides that simulate a real car with a 3D screen are fine :D

...but, in cinematographic history, Daleks are allready 54 (!!!) years old, and as such amused "5 full generations of kids/teens", while Minions are white sceen babies of just 2 years old, that will most probably not even survive 10 years of movie memory.... lol.. By the way, 'film script history' (see script authour Terry Naton) states that Daleks are mutated descendants of the race of the Kaleds .. :-) ..not from the humans :-) (That was a little lesson in film fantasy history :-) )

So Basically,Gru Has This Idea Of Turning People Into Minions.He Gives You These Weird Glasses And Your In This Theatre Like Area And The Speakers Tell You Safety Stuff Blah Blah Blah.And In My Experience Of The Ride,There Was This Guy In Speakers Telling Us About Our Items And Stuff,Thing Is,He Sounded Very Bored.So Even Universal Staff Themselves Hate Minions.And You Take The Glasses On And You Become A Minion(temporarily)And Chaos Ensues.

I went to universal studios in Hollywood CA yesterday and I went on the Simpson ride never do that again it shook my stomach up and than I went to this ride got in the ride and got off because if I would of rode it would of probably made me sick to my stomach

KaramatsuTrash~ My line was 2.5 hours. The clip was 10 minutes long, and it was on repeat. I called everybody stupid disrespectful fatties and left in anger after the ride. I am glad we had the Simpson ride. It was a short wait, the clips could last all day, and the ride was amazing. Go on that. Not the minion milk machine.

I hated this ride with a passion and it's not even because I don't like minions. Because the line for this was so long I had to miss Terminator, and I do not like that it's an IMAX theater with moving seats. Plus it wasn't really entertaining. The Jimmy Fallon one was far better than this and it's seating was almost the same
