@@RijuChatterjee As someone who plays saxophone, it resembles one, but not the same fingering wise. Any string instrument with strings is basically just a weird shaped guitar, the differences are how many strings it has, how many frets if any, how it and how it resonates. A lot of instruments are extremely similar but have unique sounds, this cover wouldn't be as cool if it was a guitar, upright bass, and soprano sax.

This song is heavily influenced by Armenian folk music, though it's not as obvious when you hear it in the original metal arrangement. The wind instrument in this cover is a chalumeau, from which clarinet and saxophone evolved; Armenian folk uses a similar instrument called a duduk, so the sound fits very well with the music.

@@Daddy_Dagoth That's not quite true - modern notation is only from that period onwards, but there *IS* earlier notation, but it's not *as clear* as to what was intended. There's a lot of earlier manuscripts with ecclesiastical singing in them, but the earlier form of notation is not as detailed/informative as modern notation. There are also treatise on music theory from earlier and other forms of musical information that makes it possible to have some idea, even if we'll likely never quite get it exactly as it was. We don't have 'no idea' - we have some pretty educated guesses, but we just don't have the same level of verisimilitude possible with later pieces

I could not stop M'lord, the tones and beats the bard produced made my person gyrate and undulate in way I had not known my body to move. Surly, the unearthly tones I was witness to did move my person without my souls knowledge, and therefore I plead that we dispatch this sorcerer before more know the sway of his corruption.

Beautiful as always. System of a Down has very strong music in every possible meaning, and it translates to several styles and genres to incredible results, and I always feel the impact of their original work whenever it's done well.
And obviously it's done VERY well here, thank you.
