Nicely done. The bonus of using Poly is that you’ll be able to use it as a greenhouse if you want. I hope your next project is building yourself some sawhorses. Watching you cut all those battens on your knees made my knees hurt. 😂
Thanks! I actually was hoping to cover it with high-quality canvas, but the wait time for a custom order was too long. I probably should make some sawhorses, you're right -- although those battens would have been tough on sawhorses, it required a fair amount of pressure and control to keep the cuts clean. Thankfully my knee pads are awesome :)
Great job man! And it looks like a really clean build. Just curious where you got the plastic and what Mil.thickness it is? Have you considered maybe putting a heavier material on just the Apex, down the sides about maybe 4'? Something like a heavy weight tarp just in case of a puncture that would then open up bigger? You could put a wood stove in there if you seal it up better around the bottom and build a set of swinging doors for it. I think you've helped me make up my mind about my boat-shed. Thanks a bunch. I see you already answered my questions 6mil and you were going to use a canvas cover. I think I will probably use Tyvek on mine first, just to add a layer of vapor barrier, but it makes covering it more difficult. Have to basically do 2 layers at once but the Tyvek is only 4' wide which makes it easier to work with and overlap by 3" or so. I guess it could be put up on the inside using the same batton method giving a dead air space for insulation between layers. 🤔 Have to think about that one.
Plans available here, I found them helpful: bow-roof-shed.com/ They also sell repair tape for punctures, which I have on standby. At some point I'd like to replace the plastic with something heavier, but so far it's been remarkably effective.
Well, if I close the front door for too long, the moisture gets so bad in there it basically rains inside, so I don't really ever close that door unless I have to. Which effectively makes the temperature difference zero. I think the mistake was not getting a good vapor barrier under my floor. It's a minor mistake, though, not really a problem to leave the door open for me.
I watched that entire series and loved it. Strongly considered using styro aircrete, but in the end, I decided the needed tools weren't a good fit for my situation.
6 mil. I really would have preferred to go with a nice canvas, but the turnaround time to order a custom size was crazy long! Still, it's nice to have all the light in there with the clear covering.
👍Super nice job!😎
The frames you used to keep the plastic bundle up there was pure genius. Well done.
A good bit of my ideas come from desperation ;)
@@lifetolive_one lol. All the great do.

Wow! That looks awesome. Job well done.
Congratulations. What an impressive accomplishment. And as they say, if it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would ever get done. Great job.
Great job! What a cool project.....love the gothic arch shape/design - similar to A-Frame but more spacious. Thanks for the inspiration.
Ви ,мене надихнули зробити самому щось таке ж! Дякую , що ділитеся вмінням і знаннями!
Glad I could help, good luck on your project!
Well done !

Good work. What is the temperature difference inside to outside of this shed ?

Where can I get the plans? :)

Abundance Building Concepts used styrocrete in a mould to clad his arch shed.

So what thickness was your polyethylene? 4 or 6 mil perhaps?
PS Good to see you today and catch up on life.
