I’ve been skating for 2 weeks and you literally taught me everything i know. I constantly repeat down with the butt up with gut every time lmao. Thanks for teaching us, you’re a true angel ❤️
I send your channel to every new skater I meet! Do you know how many of my friends know “down with the butt, up with the gut”? 🤣😂🤷🏻♂️ You’ll be at 100K in no time!
Girl girl girl. In a month you've got me transitioning on my skates, going backwards, and now I can do this (sorta still needs work). Still though thank you so much. I've been having so much fun learning.
OH I am so happy to read this comment!!! This is the kind of news I live for :) Make sure to watch these videos and start putting it all together: ua-cam.com/video/oprHhSuzWYk/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/RWfhaXeyaag/v-deo.html
I remember feeling so freaking stylish with my skating when I figured out this move! edit: my 9 year old daughter is doing forward crossovers like she is in the junior derby and she started skating in early March!! We love you Deb!!
I'm from London UK. I've been skating for just over a week. Started off looking like a baby deer but thanks to you, I'm now doing front and back bubbles, skating backwards and now learning the crossover. Your teaching is amazing. Thank you so so much. And 1234...down with the butt, up with the gut lool xx
You’re a great teacher omggg i learned how to skate backwards because of you thank youuu soo much 🥺, i would love a in person lesson but i live in Georgia ☹️
me too, and a few things! Deborah is incredible, I have been watching her for almost 1 year, currently I go to skating classes in my city (and I am the only one in the school who skates on a quads), and no teacher explains so well and in depth the movement of the body and the sensations, Viva Deborah! I would love to meet her one day
Can you do a video where you just keep repeating "I just need you to practice". I don't know about others, but when I hear you say that each time, I feel like I need to do it ... For my birthday of course...
I'm 44 yo and am just picking up skates again after over 25 years ago. I quit after having an accident and hurting myself. Long story short, you are my new skating coach.😂 I've been binge watching your videos and am learning so much, well...I haven't gone yet, but I go today. Thank you for your knowledge.
You make everything look so easy! Your outdoor tutorials really gave me the confidence to skate outside on the awful pavement in our neighborhood! Thank you!
I’m back on Skates at 57. I just started outdoor skating two weeks ago and I am so Happy! I put on FUNK radio and have a blast. Thank you for all the great tips, I’ve learned so many things from you! ❤️
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS WOMAN'S PATIENCE , HUMOROUS WAY SHE EDUCATES US SUBSCRIBERS. MY FIRST TIME WATCHING HER ABOUT CUSHIONS I SUBSCRIBED AND GOT 27 OF MY FRIENDS TO SUBSCRIBE IN THE SAME DAY. SHE HAS THE RIGHT ENERGY TO KEEP YOU CONFIDENT IN SKATING
I'm in NYC. The most fun I ever had was roller skating back in the dayyyy. My kid has already seen the sneaker skates from childhood. Such a lovely rink. Oh how I wish to skate on it. Owning a rink in my town would be a dream. You're a good teacher! Sending skate love to you!
I love your common sense approach. Great crossrolls. I enjoy them as much on wheels as I did on ice. Such a fun skill. Now I need to get them backwards on roller.
You've gotten me to go backwards for the 1st time in my life. Nave was able to do it as a kid, teen or young adult! Now I'm in my 40's & FINALLY doing it. Along with transitions!.... which are soooo much fun!! Now hopefully I'll get the crossover down the right way!!😎😎😀😀 THANK YOU!!
Dirty, you’re such a great teacher! I’ve been watching all of your videos for weeks while waiting for my skates to arrive. THEY’RE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TOMORROW! I can’t wait. I was hell-on-wheels as a kid on steel-wheeled, clamp-on sidewalk skates. I don’t remember ever falling down outside. Loved going to the rink, too, where I definitely did fall down. But, it never stopped me. Kids bounce. Now I’m old, fat, weak, and somewhat brittle. But, I’m determined to get back on skates... with dorky looking safety gear to protect my brittle bones... and cruise my little neighborhood. I’m looking forward to getting stared at, ‘cause I’ll be waving at everyone and having a blast! Thanks for your great videos!
I love doing this on the trails outside. I also have learned that if I take time to warm up my abs and stretch I do so much better in control and flexibility !!!!! Also am trying to learn a version of this backwards....think you could do a video on that?
I'm an inline figure skater, but theirs so few tutorials for them and you have been my saving grace! My skates have 3 wheels on a rocker and a toe stop, and so many of the things you teach have worked for me ❤
I was never able to do cross overs when I was younger but always wanted to do this fancy stuff. I know with you I can do this Dirty. You inspire me lots
I just started back into roller skating after a 30 year hiatus. Thank you so much! I am so afraid to do these! Not afraid of falling! Just subbed you❤️❤️👍 thank you for all these little tips and tricks! I love skating. No phone and NO computer. Just pure joy, happiness and great music!
DD, all your detailed explanations are EXTREMELY HELPFUL! Please don't ever think they're "drawn out" 😁. If anyone doesn't want them, they can skip forward! For beginner/intermediate skater like me, I really appreciate you breaking down every move, weight transfer, and specific body area focus. THANK YOU 💙💛🛼👍🎯
your video on crossovers helped me get it almost immediately...! I've only been skating for a few weeks and it really made me feel good to be able to get something so quickly. Cant wait to try it at the rink, same with these!
G'day young lady. I'm in Australia & these day's an old fart. I recently put my old Hockey skates in for boot repairs. Its been at least 25 years since lacing them up. I used to skate every day when I was younger & still have confidence that I can do it. So I laced up for 15min yesterday. Man my balance is there but sketchy I still have sideways & reverse gears but same sketchy. I watched this video of yours & you reminded me of so pointers that I had forgotten about being a crusty old bloke now. I thought I'd just give it another go now to build up fitness. I'd like to say thanks mate for the reminders. I definitely tune back in to say G'day. Thanks mate. Stay safe kind regards Ian
I'm so glad I found your tutorials. I started skating again at 52 and I was feeling like I'd reached a plateau as far as teaching and conditioning myself. Thanks to viewing your videos, I was able to practice falling correctly and doing crossovers and shoot the duck at the skate park today without fear, knowing I was doing things properly. I'll feel a lot more confident at Denver ROLL next week!
So so happy I found your channel! It’s been 5 weeks with my new skates as an adult (I used to skate here & there as a kid) & the way you explain each step is so brilliant, thorough & clear - so thank you!! 👏🏼 I hope to get through all of your videos one day 💃🏻🪩☺️
I couldn't do the bubbles when I started roller skating. Everyone else was doing it like it was a piece of cake, including others who had just started skating. No matter how various people explained it, including my instructor, I couldn't get it...until I watched your video. Now, I come to your videos for a confidence boost when I've been struggling with something and start to think I can't do it. Thank you. ❤
These are a lot harder than I thought :))) But I must say, after struggling with them for three days now, my general skating, you know like straight forward skating, feels a lot more balanced and secure! Thank you So much! I don’t know what would I do if youTube broke down.. 😋🥰
Dirty D.!.. THANK YOU SO MUCH!.. I'm just a beginner, but everything I can do on rollerskates I've learned on your channel. Before sleep - I watch your videos, when I wake up (and have a time before going to work) - I watch your videos. While I'm working I'm thinking about how I will try something new from the videos I've seen😁!.. In these difficult times it really helps to move on and look straight into the future.
Amazing! She's the only skater on the whole UA-cam!! Who teaches me to skate very nicely in by short and quick dirty lessons! Really love the type of energy you have, really love your humorous behaviour and also your skates!! Thank u for the lessons Deb! God may bless you with all his mighty ❤️
This move was so helpful for me in getting the hang of forward outside edges!! It was hard for me to feel mentally comfortable leaning into the outside edge because there’s no foot out there to catch you if you lose your balance.... unless you have your other foot ready to do a cross over :) plus it’s such a fun way to get groovy when skating forward. Love this tutorial
I had really lost my skating confidence during isolation but watching your videos today and being reminded of the basics has brought it all back. THANK YOU - you are a shining light to this newbie skater! ❤️
Ok to start off, I’m an old to in-line, new to quad skater. I’ve been skating for a couple months and because of you I can FREAKING SKATE!!! I REALLY want to learn the combo with the spin you do in this video. Did you ever make a tutorial on that!? Let me know. All my love 💕
seriously you make everything look so easy. me and my mum have been studying your videos religiously. i can go forward and backwards, do bubbles and all of this outdoors! thanks love!
Thanks for pointing out the details like the shoulder turn to counter the turn and turning on outside edges. That's advanced info that most don't explain. And you make it look so flowing, easy, and fun.
So happy I found you, I am from California but living in México and gyms are just opening, cant play my usual sports, so I just started skating again after more than 20 years. And now we are receiving so much rain and a hurricane is coming, at least I can watch your videos and learn so much to practice when I can get the chance. You are so fun and amazing, my new idol ! You skate like a breeze, so delightful to watch
Gosh you're lovely to watch, live, love and learn Skating again. Skater since 4 years old. Off Skates for over 28 years. Loving that feeling again. Thank You 🙂🌺
I love how graceful you are. Beautiful and elegant looking. My first pair of skates arrive Wednesday and i will practice with you daily. I especially love how you skate backwards 🥰
starting with practicing these and i laugh when i think i’m crossing my legs so much when my foot doesn’t even make it in front of the other one 😂 i think i need to do more practice off skates!
Your intros are the absolute best! The meat of the video is always 100% BUT seeing your effortless, graceful skating inspires me to really work on fundamentals as a brand new skater! It makes me remember that the hours of edge drills will be worth it!
I would die for a rink half of that 🤍 damn I didn’t know how much I missed skating till I put skates back on. 17 years later. I’ll have to brush up on ALL the skills but I can’t wait! So glad I found your channel!!
I started skating after 30+ years on Nov 22. It didn’t go very well for a couple of weeks, but thanks to you, I learned how to not fall and that gave me the confidence to do other things and get better! Thanks for all of your videos! My Sure Grips and I thank you for making learning fun!!!
I loved skating as a young girl and after watching a video bought some skates and have been skating around in my house. My hubby is worried about me falling and breaking something. I’m 59 but in good shape and find this is a wonderful cardio workout. I’m trying to get confident enough to go to a rink or outside somewhere. You are a great teacher, and I wish I had these videos when I was young. If I ever get to California, I’m coming to skate with you. 😁
I love watching you. For many years I felt like I could skate and seeing you I realized I was doing a lot wrong. I'm glad I can watch you and correct my mistakes. Great teacher I even send your videos to friends
I love your instructional videos. I hadn't skate in over 25yrs. Sad news U broke my ankle last week. I am not gonna give up and will be back in 6-8 weeks.
You R Awesome! Everything about U. I just adore U & videos. I am 49 years old & I wanna skate again so bad. It's bn years. U have helped me more than u"ll ever no. Roller skating was so awesome as a youngster
You are amazing. I just finished my first lessons at beginners 1 and started 2 in Bristol UK. I'd love to come to America and have some lessons with you . Keep it up xx
Thank you so much for Your videos , they are so helpful and encouraging! I’m full figured and 47 . I’m so excited to get back I to skating! I was not sure I could do this again!! It’s a very slow process for me !! But I will eventually skate with confidence!
You're amazing! Thank you so much for all your videos! I'm 31 and have been skating all my life but have never really learned any nuanced tricks/tips. In one day you taught me backwards skating!! Thank you!! 🙏🏻😘
Watching this again, because I had some work to do, to fix my errors from last night... Having a hard time getting those wheels to just move left (for the left outer edge), OMG!!! Did she seriously just cross her heart for a Hail Mary!? Lol!!! The second you did it, then you said exactly what I was thinking!!! Lol... I was never baptized Catholic. However, I was raised Catholic and attended Catechism, and Mass, because my aunt was a teacher at her church. And you seriously just made me relive my childhood traumas!!! Now I gotta skate for therapy!!!😂
Just found your skating tutorials today. You definitely are absolutely a wonderful teacher. When you explain body weight and posture, things make much more sense. 👏
32 re learning to skate again i was self taught and I was pretty rusty when I started skating again, your videos are amazing thank you for teaching me all the fundamentals much love ❤️ from Bronx, Nyc 💫
Keep posting videos even if you feel its too much like figure skating! It's so fun to learn new skills and work them into whatever skate style you do, helps so much with practicing balance and control too.
I'm from Australia & I feel like coming to the US would be worth it just to say hello to you! :D Your energy is infectious!
Also from Australia and I think this all the time. In the most affectionate way, I think I get almost like 'bogan aunty' vibes.

Keep posting videos even if you feel its too much like figure skating! It's so fun to learn new skills and work them into whatever skate style you do, helps so much with practicing balance and control too.
