The best tutorials. I’ve been trying to do a pivot spin for a while but kept getting “stuck” - your advice totally unlocked it for me! Starting by skating backward was sooo helpful, the momentum really helps me get around. Then - the advice about weight on your inside back edge is EVERYTHING! It’s impossible to tell from other tutorials I’ve seen that your body weight is not supposed to be on your toe stop. Thanks, Dirty ❤️

Definitely an amazing teacher!!! So easily understood!! Started skating at the age of 3 & used to be a professional speed skater years ago, now I can’t skate to save my life if I had to, lol. Don’t know what happened, def not like riding a bike where ya just pick it back up. I wanna skate again so bad & be able teach my daughter, but scared to fall due to a back injury. Was so much easier as a kid, lol.

You can do it!! Practice makes perfect! My daughter is 9 and I am 42 (43 on the 4th of July!) and we started skating in March and we are both improving every day! Getting knee pads helped my confidence because now I'm not as afraid of falling. But trust me...you will get it! One day something just clicks!! Keep practicing and you will get there!!❤️
I really liked to hear you talk about the spin, the method of riding in vehicles. I will try one of these days. These classes of yours have helped me a lot in my evolution.

My favorite backward skate teacher. One of my favorite weirdos in general, I think. I'm loving all this outdoor skating but this really really really makes me miss those smooth air-conditioned wood floors. When restrictions lift I might have to roll over to Fountain Valley...do you have a Geezer Night? Also... 9:39 damn! Nice rides!

Gonna practice this today. I found a quiet street in Cal Heights to skate. I like to practice to music so I can get into a rhythm. I actually learn a lot from the montages you post of our skater friends whom have sent home videos. So thanks to those skaters too. What if you did a follow-up quiz segment... like "Where is my weight if I want to perform a right spin?" Or "how do we pick up our boot? : with the hip, the foot or your right eyebrow?" LOL. Just to make sure we ARE learning the mechanics. Just like in any sport, the mechanics are so important. I love your real booty "Drop it like it's hot" I can't wait til this lockdown is over so I can skate for reals at your Rink

Thank you for this awesome video! I've always had so much trouble with backward spins, and you finally helped me solve the problem by dropping my toe close to the side of the back truck of the other skate and keeping things close! How do keep the spin going for additional revolutions? I'm finding myself transitioning to the toe stop of the other foot/skate after the first rotation and turning it into a forward spin on the other foot. Stopping the backwards momentum on the entrance and turning it into centrifugal motion of a centered spin is the scariest part!
Thanks! This looks like a tighter version of a back to front spin called a snap around that I have been struggling with. Looking forward to trying it with your advice 😊

I need to work at backwards skating and turns (transitions) I have watched MANY of your videos and they have been a tremendous help! But this is exactly what I want to work on!! My boyfriend is so fluid on his skates (like you are!!) and I can't wait to look just as graceful! Thanks for all you do!!!

Maybe. Indoor wheels CAN be good if you're skating at the skate parks, but otherwise - streets, sidewalks, trails, etc. you're going to ruin them. Get a set of outdoor wheels...or...if you can afford it, just get a second pair of skates specifically for outdoor use.
It can make it more difficult to skate outdoors on indoor wheels because they are harder and it will make it difficult to go over bumps and cracks. But it can be done. Dirty Deb has a whole video on wheels that helped me out!😊

If I have regular wheels the ones that came w my skates I believe they are indoor wheels and I use them outside will they get messed up?
