I have the 2008 scion and I plugged everything correctly (every color to color) but the subs in the back aren’t working at all. Any ideas? I noticed I’m not the only one either
So I just sintalled an aftermarket headset into my 2007 scion but I have to change the fuse everytime I turn the car off. The fuses are 7.5. Should I just put in a 10 so I don't have to keep replacing the fuses? The radio wont turn on after I shut the car off with 7.5's in.
I just hooked my interface and had to add a ground to the ground needed for the interface for the OEM steering wheel controls grabbed it from the double pulse ground wire
I am trying to install a stereo in my '07 Scion TC I bought the wire harness adapter to plug into the stock plug I'm getting power and everything but I'm not getting any sound what am I missing
I have a pioneer radio in my 07 tc and the aux imput plug in in the armrest doesnt work. I have tried multiple cables that work in my other car so I know its not the cable. How would I check to see if its plugged in? I hit the aux button and nothing happens.
So i have a question i want to put a aftermarket stereo on my Scion but i want to keep using the OEM harness cus i want to keep the OEM Amplifier in the rear with the subwoofer. whats the name of the harness adapter for it?
How do you install the radio antenna to the pioneer though? It's too small to fit and it's like connected to an RGBA cable on mine it's so weird unlike any other car I've had where it was plug n play.
Hey your video is very informative but I am trying to hook the factory radio back up using a line output converter. I used the front speakers to run to the amp but I am not getting any response from the amp and subs. I'm pretty sure my issue is the line out converter which I'm not sure how to wire in, any tips would be helpful sir
I have a 2005 scion XA it has a pioneer stereo . Could I just remove the brackets on the pioneer stereo to put them on a touchscreen stereo??? Will the pioneer side brackets fit on a touchscreen stereo ??? Please reply Thanks alot
Man my car is not starting after installing an audio system, well when I picked my car up the shifter was locked, tail lights are off no signal lights and now it won’t start on me
Sounds like you have the factory amplified system. You will need to hook up the blue/white wire on your harness adapter to your radio to trigger it to turn on.
I think about installing a double din to my TC 2009. Is there a counter installation? and in this case of your video to insert DVD or CD if it opens the screen well or there is a problem for the space?
I'm looking to install a backup camera for my 2007 scion tc. I'm getting quoted nearly 600 dollars at car stereo shops near me which is insane. Any recommendations on which I should buy and install myself. Thanks

I am trying to install a radio, amp and 10 inch subs on a 2006. I get power from the radio but the subs does not turn on along with the radio, would I have to wire from the amp to the harness in order to get power to the subs, like how u said u tied the front door speakers to the amp or they are powered by the amp, in order to get power to the subs
Hi. I see this vid was put up about two years ago, but hopefully you can answer my question - i just bought an 7" atoto a6 (android radio) for my 2006 scion. I tried installing it, but it didnt seem to fit - any tips? This pioneer was a 7", right? Thanks. Any help would be much appreciated.
It's not the screen size you have to worry about, it's the actual size of the radio chassis you need to ensure fits. The radio opening in the Scion fits any standard double din, Double DIN sized radio is a 7" x 4" IF your radio doesn't fit those actual dimensions regardless of the screen size, then it won't fit.
(just for anyone else who reads this later), you have to get a kit that brings it to the front and remove the door as they don't properly work with the door. We see that problem here to some degree. The SCOSCHE SCN2059B works.
I find your videos are excellent. I used one to install a new radio in my Toyota Tacoma already. I am looking at doing the same in my 2005 Scion TC. I have one concern, The vehicle has side impact air bags at the A pillar and I am concerned that I might impact how these function while trying to conceal the wired mic behind the pillar cover can you advise anything I should do to avoid affecting the function of the side impact airbags?
You can run the cable behind the actual airbag itself instead of against the a-pillar cover. It will take a bit more work, but may be a better solution for you.
Good video but I need help I started my car without the head unit with the ac controls wat happens does it blow fuses because I think. It does I can't see me PRNDL LIGHTS ANYMORE
Just recently bought the pioneer avh-x390bs and noticed you didn't connect the yellow/black (mute) wire to anything along with the purple/white (reverse gear signal input) on the pioneer harness to anything, was there a connection I might have missed in the video or do those two wires not need to be connected to anything? My scion is an 06 if that helps at all.
The Scion wasn't equipped with the mute feature so we did not use it. We did use the reverse gear signal wire input as it was not connected into any wire in the harness, but we extended it and ran it down to the driver's side kick panel and located the reverse wire only hot when in reverse.
Totally depends on the shop. I would call around. They could charge up to 100 - 200 depending on location. You may find a deal that does it cheaper, i suggest reaching out to different places. Remember, you always get what you pay for when installing, so you pay someone cheap, they may do a cheap job.
Sure thing, you just need the Scosche SCN2059B Dash Kit to make it work www.amazon.com/SCOSCHE-SCN2059B-2005-10-Double-Install/dp/B001GQ2Q0E/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Scion+TC+Dash+Kit+Pocket&qid=1625782930&sr=8-1
appreciate the video. I'm struggling to find an installation kit for 2006 matrix. I bought what crutchfield said is the right kit. A metra 95-8202. But they don't fit with the factory brackets. So frustrating. Any suggestion?on the best approach here? I'm losing patience and ready to just go to a place to get it installed. Thanks!!
Bad timing as i have a Matrix planned next month for an install. I would follow Metra's diagrams on their website which may help you a bit more. Sorry, not much help through the comments.
Thanks so much for the response. So I wound up having to trim them to fit the brackets. Install is tomorrow. If all goes well, happy to share some pictures on exactly how I did it. Thanks!
Unfortunately, that was a customer vehicle a while back. My advise would be to locate your reverse light location and see what colors are for its power when in reverse. That same wire color will run along the driver side kick panels up to the front of the vehicle. You will be able to look for it there. But again, start at the back at the bulb to see what wire color to look for.

Well, if you want video playback, it will need to be connected to the parking brake as it was intended to. If you still want it bypassed, you can purchase a toggle switch from a auto parts store and manually switch the ground on, off, and on again.
+Julio Morel Well unfortunately, it was a customer vehcile so it's not mine personally. However, i do have a video on a back up camera install on my channel which you can use as a reference: ua-cam.com/video/FHIhV0Wi7Bo/v-deo.html Besides what is explained in the video, the easiest way I installed the camera was to run the video cable on the driver side of the vehicle to the hatch area. I ran the cable behind the driver rear back seat panel which comes out with clips. Then remove the hatch interior panel to expose the wiring. Work the video cable up through the rubber grommet tube to keep it looking factory. Use the rear tail light for power and ground, so just run the power / ground cable through the factory rubber grommet into the cabin of the car and run it to the rear tail light for power. Hope this makes sense. The video link above helps a lot.
Parts used linked in the description!
When your “showing” people how to install You should probably SHOW instead of TELL...
If he has to show you how he crimped the wires together, then you shouldn't be the one installing a head unit

Do i need to cut the wires?
I respect this man. I can't respect a man wearing gloves to install a radio. That is next level geh.
How you tell me step by step to connect the speakers because I'm not getting any sound from my speakers
Sounds like you have the factory amplified system. You will need to hook up the blue/white wire on your harness adapter to your radio to trigger it to turn on.

do the volume/control buttons on steering wheel still work?
Yep!, we used the ASWC-1 on this install to keep the factory steering wheel control buttons with the new radio.

No install kit needed if it is a double din.

hi Do you what size bolts/nut it is I don't have any and my stereo harness moves quite a bit
They were 10mm nuts used, not sure of the threading. This was a customer vehicle, so unfortunately i no longer have it.

Im guessing it's fine to leave that unattached if I do not have a back up camera hooked up to my system?
Yep, just tape it off.
Okay thanks!
How much should one pay for to get this done? Given that the aftermarket stereo/back up cámara have already been bought..

is there a specific port that you connect the Bluetooth microphone to?
Yes, there is a Mic input on the back of the radio.
If we were to install without the bypass how would we go about that? Im a cheapskate and dont want to spend $15
Well, if you want video playback, it will need to be connected to the parking brake as it was intended to. If you still want it bypassed, you can purchase a toggle switch from a auto parts store and manually switch the ground on, off, and on again.
