2005 Scion tC Stereo Installation Tips & Info

- Installed a new Pioneer DEH-X6700BT stereo into my daughter's 2005 Scion tC and decided to take some video and give some tips along the way which may be helpful if you are installing a new stereo in a tC. Her car has the factory Bazooka subwoofer in it which I was able to keep using after replacing the stereo.
Parts Used for Installation:
Scosche SCN2059B dash trim kit - Using this kit removes the factory stereo cover door from the dash. It's a nice high quality kit for the money but the instructions are not very detailed.
Metra 70-1761 - this is a wiring harness adapter which will let you plug directly into a Toyota wiring harness to make the connections. You then need to splice the wires together with the wiring harness for the new stereo. Much easier than needing to tap the connections off the factory wiring.

Where did you buy the radio and the parts to make it flush without the radio cover?
I have a 05 scion Xa with a pioneer stereo.
I installed a head unit in my 2005 TC but lost power to my bazooka subwoofer. Any idea what the problem could be?
dude thanks for this vid help out a hole lot. i think i got the one u hav it works perfectly the scosche scn2059b. if u guys need one this is it. i hav an 08 tc. if u hav a trim aroun the stereo u hav to remove it
jesus man thats a nice kit. the one i got suks lol. the door cant close over it so i took it off its hiting on the side sumwer. but now thers like a whole lot of space aroun the dash kit that u can see and the stereo n dash does not sit flush with the front of that panel like yours does
my wiring doesn't seem to match up on mine. did you have that problem
How do you put the radio cover back is it from the back or the front im struggling?
I wish I would of watched this before I did my bracket. I ended up getting frustrated with the door and just broke it off. I put my mic down in the compartment under the ac controls with two way tape I did a couple test calls and it sounds better their than on top.
Can you show how to install a new antenna
Did that black framing (just around the unit) come with the stock head unit? I don't seem to have it and was wondering where if it came with the new unit or not...
Is there a special wire for bluetooth? Or just match wire colors to wire colors? Did the antenna wire plug right in to new unit or did you need an adapter for that too?
Where you buy the dash kit
does the steering controls work with this radio?
Where is the amplifier of the original scion tc
did the little basket on the bottom come with the radio? or did u order it separately?
