- The 1969 Hemi Dodge Daytona is an absolute beast of a MOPAR, but did you know the manufactured numbers of how many exist are still contested today?
We dive into the history of the 1969 Daytona and also the personal history of our own Orange Dodge Hemi Daytona.
If you like the pin you see in the video, you can find them on our website: jenningswingca...
Meet this owner and his beautiful car in Chicago at the muscle car and corvette nationals. He let my 8 year old son sit in this car and get some pictures. Made both of our days. That 8 hour drive there was worth it . Thank you Mr Jennings
You truly said it best Mr. Jennings, the Hemi Daytona IS an absolute beast of a Mopar and yours is no exception! Thank you so much for keeping the spirit and history of the awesome winged Mopar's alive for many generations to come!
Incredible story, incredible car. Nice to see it still runs on the street. Kids seeing it today will remember it in the years to come.
Just awesome Bob !!!!
Love those winged cars!
Got to love the history of the wing cars and to have a survivor like this? PRICELESS! THANK YOU FOR KEEPING IT REAL MR. JENNINGS!
Thanks!
Another great find!
One day I'll see all of them Jenning's cars. Cute ending to the video Bob. 😂
Very nice. I think you had said in the past you like the Daytona's better than the Superbirds. Funny thing and as you know dealers had a hard time selling these back in the day when they were new.
Great vid, really enjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video. I've seen it in person! Its beautiful!
If you haven't seen this car in person yet I highly recommend it! Blew me away at Carlisle, what a beautiful ride and outstanding history..
Appreciate it Duston. See you in July
Don't know about nowadays , but back when that car was new Indiana called that little stunt " an exhibition of speed and power " . It fell in the reckless driving category and I think was good for eight points against your license , out of a possible twelve , same as getting a " speed contest " ticket .
That was a great video!
Few of the wing cars actually left the dealership with rear axle gearing that would allow these cars to reach their potential top speeds.
Put the slotted mags back on please ❤
0:55 That's a tribute 1971 Charger Daytona. The Chrysler wing cars still only won fourteen races to Ford/Mercury thirty-seven. Bobby Isaac did win the championship in 1970. He won no races that year in a wing car. All his wins came on short tracks.
Great job Bob,I always enjoy your videos,Amazing car!!
I was the owner he is talking about, I was not 17 years old and Race mothers is not in Toledo it in Marion county Ohio. I took those photos in the drive way and in the snow as the original owner a fi put those stickers on the car.
A follow up from original owner, the car was made like out of spare parts, basically it was junk, made to look like something great. I traded in a new 442 olds 4 on the floor Herst shifter, for this car. After this car I purchased a 454 corvette, that was a 100 times better car.
You have a survivor. I would have to change out those original wheels and tires, check brakes and fluids and take it for a sunday drive.
Stop beating on my car, Dad
