    I like how these guys explain why they are doing the half rep movement to "chase the pump." At some point in your bodybuilding level you have to know the difference between myofibrillar training and sarcoplasmic training. Most advanced BB like the sarcoplasmic training to engorge their already swole muscles with a lot of blood and to reduce tendonitis and long term injuries. When you're young and like to do heavy weight training to build muscle, myofibrillar training is probably good for beginner gains, but at some point using manageable weights and going for the pump reduces injuries. I could care less how much weight i'm pushing, I just want the pump.

    did I miss something? why does morel only do partial lifts / presses? not fully extending up on the overhead presses.

    • @abusayed93
      @abusayed93 8 років тому +7

      Keeping tension on the deltoids. Extending out uses a lot of triceps. Hope this answers your question.

    One thing everyone should know, you don't NEED overhead presses to build shoulders. If it works for you great, but it's not necessary, and in fact people tend to overdevelop the anterior deltoid from pressing all the time. Lateral movements are greater for shoulders imo.

      kw1213
      No i just find it funny you say that when pros are actually ignoring this FACT, and doing presses and front raises everytime in their shoulder workouts. And whats more funny is you saying lateral movements are greater for shoulders, THERE IS NO EXERCISE GREATER FOR AN INDIVIDUAL, ITS WHAT HE OR SHE LACKS TO GET A FULL ROUND DELT.

    • @kw1213
      @kw1213 10 років тому

      Calven Ng
      First of all , you are wrong about "all pros" saying this. Obviously it makes sense that pros would use everything in their arsenal to maximize, but that doesn't mean you need to do presses. You are right about not everyone needing the same exercises, HOWEVER, to have a sick delt you need a lot more than just front delts. And in order to develop nice side delts and rear delts, you need lateral movements. And anyone that knows anything about BB knows that what makes you look wide is the lateral delt. Also, you dont need to do presses to develop your anterior delt so yeah. Like i originally said, if pressing works for you , that's great, but you don't NEED to do any presses at all to have sick shoulders.

      Training partials like this is often times actually harder. just imagine doing quarter sqauts on the lower part of the excercise without going all the way up and maybe even rest a little. this kind of partials are very hard. you should try it.

    • @joaoluizsn
      @joaoluizsn 10 років тому

      steven oliveira pro bodybuilders like to use the "time under tension" method, a lot of weight and a lot of reps, people on juice and at this level and size, respond beautifully to that, but, this is not for everyone, specially naturals
      also,
      they don't use full range of motion on the presses because if you go too low, it will engage tendons and ligaments and if you go to high, it will engage triceps instead of shoulders, so if you sum it up, what they're doing is not "wrong" actually

    • @kw1213
      @kw1213 10 років тому +3

      João Luiz Your range of motion comments are true, but I have news for you, lots of reps and time under tension is just as effective for natural bodybuilders. You don't need to lift heavy as a natural , quite the contrary.

    • @joaoluizsn
      @joaoluizsn 10 років тому +2

      kw1213 naturals can`t expect to have the same results from heavy lifting or even spend a long time in the gym as juicers can, or even recover as fast as well, but thank you for the "news"

  • @mr.sinister1279
    @mr.sinister1279 5 років тому +4

    Well wen u lift very heavy weights ur using ur ligaments n joints more than u use ur muscles.. y u think u got tendinitis!! Stay medium heavy n do more reps.. u get the same results n safely too!!

    • @tootoo1upper
      @tootoo1upper 5 років тому +1

      Your comment is pure broscience… explain to me how you lift with ligaments. ligaments are tissue the bind bones together, tenons bind muscles to bones. Neither of them contract to create tension and force. joints do not exert force either...they are just joints.

    • @mr.sinister1279
      @mr.sinister1279 5 років тому

      @@tootoo1upper go ahead n put my theory to the test for a month or so n wen ur elbows and shoulders start to hurt u will Kno y!! Too much pressure on ur joints is no good!! Go n try it n hurt yo self!!

    • @onealr
      @onealr 9 років тому

      How much though? Not that much. The only way to not have a slight arch is to do behind the neck or side of the head...but that's a worse position on your shoulders. I'd rather stay safe, and believe me if you do it like that it's still shoulders. Just rep out 60s like that and see where you get that pump it should be shoulders or you're doing it wrong.

    I love the bodybuilders who say they use nothing but the supplements from the company that sponsors them and that they eat 30 times a day to get as big as they are! What bullshit, we all know that the injectable steroids they use are the fucking reason they're that big! Nobody gets that big from taking fake assed supplements and stuffing your face unless you're a big fat fuck! Don't get me wrong I love lifting weights and taking performance enhancers, they make you feel superhuman! The thing that sucks is cycling off!
