It's funny to see how the tables have turned between GT and Forza. The days of vacuum cleaner and lawnmower engine are long gone. Most cars in GT now have good audio.
Eh I gotta disagree, they still all sound way too similar in GT7, like I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a V8 and a V6 for sure if I had to guess based off of sound
PC3 nails most engine sounds however the quality depends on their sources because some cars like the Corvette while it is accurate, sounds like it's recorded with a GoPro in its waterproof enclosure. The Sabre C9, Huayra, Huracan GT3 and R8 GT3 are some of the best sounding cars in Project CARS 3 and one of the best compared to any game.

I was actually excited for this game originally. Then the first trailer came out, i got a bit hesitant. Then more and more came out about the game and i got more on the fence with it. Then it comes out... holy shit this game is such a mess. I truly had high hopes for this game actually... gamepass is enough for me.
How about the Car Points (CP) for example if I choose a Ford Mustang and CP level it up, then I choose a Ford GT, come on now I have to CP it up for upgrades 😕 with all the credits I have, not good to me!!!

@@redhunnid5142 Well, modders have done it multiple times in Assetto Corsa, sure it might sound rough when the sound transitions during shifting or accelerating to decelerating but it sounds way better than this. I don't know how game companies work but they could've gotten some help from Playground games since they're both Forza and under Xbox Game Studios. Maybe the one guy that Polyphony took really did most of the work.

You briefly brought up footage from GT4 with this car. I would recommend having a look at the "Gran Turismo 4 Randomizer" mod by TheAdmiester, as many of the car sounds were changed, the Sauber here being one of them. More are expected to be updated for the "Spec II" mod that's in progress. I think you'll be very satisfied. :)
I feel like a majority of the sounds are somewhat bugged. Whenever sounds are bouncing off walls and such, you can hear the uncompressed sound but in the open it's a bit muffled or like the car is far away from you. Weird to explain but they don't sound correct. Like the tone is there, but the rasp of the cars is missing at times. The Carrera GT sounds great tho..lol
I love that you showed PC3 it’s an awesome game and honestly not bad on a high end wheel like most people say, and my goodness the sounds are epic and just how many cars there are is awesome as well! Great video!
FH5 and FM8, both have compressed synthetic sounds. They created fake hype for FH5 on game release. Now, finally it’s caught up to them. They can’t just keep fooling their audiences.
I know some sounds aren’t great in this game. However, there are still some good ones in there! People who comment that this game has the WORST sounds in forza history sound like literal children, I’m sorry. It’s far from the worst because at least they sound like engines. Forza Horizon 4 still tops this for having some of the WORST sounds in Forza history.
idk if anyone has tested the F1 cars available yet, but they also sound terrible. they can only rev up to 12K and it sounds like 10K rpm. not to mention the horrible understeer as is the case with majority of the cars in this game
SO MANY vehicles, but probably only one or two sound designers. This would be a good reason, if it wasn't for The Crew Motorfest and Ivory Tower having the same situation and still got it above right.

Dude I remember buying the c9 on fm4 and I was so happy how realistically it sounded, played it again today and man this this was so loud I had adjust my speaker sound because of the high frequency! Love FM3 and 4 car audios they did a good job back in the day

These guys bragged about how their cars sounded so amazing and how each part affects the cars sound. The cars sound absolutely terrible in Motorsport. Limiting sounds horrific too. The crew motorfest sounds 10000x better than this game and to some people, shitty car sounds ruin the entire game
I hope they fix the sound of the C9. I think they can do it, because the Peugeot 905, Mazda 787B, Audi R18, Toyota GT ONE and others had a very good improvement
Project cars sounds are unbeatable. They’ve got so much more to them, crackles, backfires and they sound raw. Forza motorsport seems to have gone down the same route as GT. how disappointing.
I was driving a porsche cayman around maple valley in fm8. And when you drive under one of it's bridges the game lets out this ridiculous noise trying ti simulate the sound of a car going under. First time i heard it i bust out laughing.
Quite a few of the cars need a sound overhaul. The SCV12, Diablo, Porsche Carrera GT, Zenvo TSR-S, Ferrari F40, Apollo IE, etc. A lot of these cars sound plain or inaccurate sadly, as they've all at least sounded amazing in previous games.
Fm8 is definitely a step into what we can achieve with the right system with the gameplay and leveling system, but the sounds and graphics seem very lack luster

Most of the cars sound incredible in Project Cars 3, especially the Venom F5 in my opinion, it’s also the first pc game that had the venom f5 and it was awesome to hear the beast properly there.

I think the engine sound is different in some GT4 games depending on region or something. The version I have has a quite nice v8 sound for that time :D

Yeah the C9’s sound in GT Sport and GT7 were inaccurate. The CLK LM sounded very wrong as well, the GT-R GT500 ‘08 & R92CP are also WAY OFF compared to the irl sounds. It seems that GT/PD really had a bit of nightmare for recording several V8 sounds.

I think ppl at this rate are overbashing the Forza sounds. Yes, the new FM have a couple inaccurate sounds but they are way more good sounds and ppl wanna put it like a whole disaster. If you don't believe me, I'll give you some good examples: Ford Shelby GT350 '16 Mazda 787B Porsche 911 GT3 '07 Honda NSX-R BMW M4 '21 Ford GT '17 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 '23 Subaru Impreza STi '08 (and relatives) Subaru BRZ '22 Honda Civic Type R FK8 (with sport exhaust)... and so on...
I actually turn car engine sound way down in iRacing and pump tyre sounds way up so I can hear the tyres going out so I gotta be the one person in the planet who doesn't really care about engine sounds in racing games.
Forza and PCars 2 have a lot of the same cars, especially ones with iconic sounds like the Ford Capri Zakspeed silhouette car. I guess I didn't play PCars 3, but would you do a sound comparison of the shared cars between those games? PCars always had beastly audio in their games
When I went to go drive the McLarens... It's hard to put in to words exactly how disappointed I was. Practically NONE of them sound remotely accurate _maybe_ besides the F1 GT
They had 6 years to produce nothing much. I guess Horizon became Microsoft's lovechild and the Motorsport team's been living on breadcrumbs to produce a game they could nornally make in 4.

Not to be a fanboy because I am actually a fanboy of Gran Turismo, but it is not as bad in FM8 as you made it look. Honestly the Benz Sauber is not a bubbly V8, it does use a turbo that makes the sound more muted and sounding a bit like a V4. I'm not saying the sound in FM8 is perfect but it is far from being pathetic
personnally i still think that Assetto corsa is the best, to me it feels like in fm7 and pc2 it feels very dulled down compared to AC. i have tried to drive that thing on full turbo with no TC, ABS, stability controll and manual clutch. I tell you that thing is the ONLY car in the whole game where i actually have to try not to crash lol
But one should not forget that AC is a real simulation and not SIMCADE. But in AC the C9 sounds super GREAT with the sound mod from Fonsecker xD. And Fonsecker does really good sound modifications that are very, very close to reality. The best example of this is the Corvette C7R as a sound mod from him. The best thing is to fly over the Nordschleife with the C9. Drive yourself with real driving aids and gears. So in this case without driving aids and manual Gearshift, nice heel and toe ;-)

Projects Cars got the best outside sound in both games it’s not even close but GT7 went crazy with that interior sound it sounds absolutely insane!!!
All 3 of PROJECT CARS games are excellent on nailing all of the cars sounds despite PC3 is the WORST among the three.

The Mazda 787B from Shioriko Uehara on Grid Legends and Gran Turismo 6 all sounded FAR better than in FM8!
Hopefully they take notice and update most of these sound files like they have done in the past

Yeah the C9’s sound in GT Sport and GT7 were inaccurate. The CLK LM sounded very wrong as well, the GT-R GT500 ‘08 & R92CP are also WAY OFF compared to the irl sounds. It seems that GT/PD really had a bit of nightmare for recording several V8 sounds.
The Sauber C9 and Porsche 962c sound the best in Asseto Corsa.
The first reveal trailer made me hyped to play this game. Now seeing the gameplay videos from different channels, I lose more and more interest
For me only the trailers are basically made from truly ground up. FM8 for me: ITS. JUST. BAD! 👎

I think ppl at this rate are overbashing the Forza sounds. Yes, the new FM have a couple inaccurate sounds but they are way more good sounds and ppl wanna put it like a whole disaster.

I actually turn car engine sound way down in iRacing and pump tyre sounds way up so I can hear the tyres going out so I gotta be the one person in the planet who doesn't really care about engine sounds in racing games.
Forza and PCars 2 have a lot of the same cars, especially ones with iconic sounds like the Ford Capri Zakspeed silhouette car. I guess I didn't play PCars 3, but would you do a sound comparison of the shared cars between those games? PCars always had beastly audio in their games
When I went to go drive the McLarens... It's hard to put in to words exactly how disappointed I was. Practically NONE of them sound remotely accurate _maybe_ besides the F1 GT

They had 6 years to produce nothing much. I guess Horizon became Microsoft's lovechild and the Motorsport team's been living on breadcrumbs to produce a game they could nornally make in 4.

Cant belive Turn 10 completely destroyed the amazing sound of Ayumu Uehara's Sauber Mercedes C9 in FORZA MOTORSPORT 8! DISGUSTING! The Sauber Mercedes C9 from Ayumu Uehara in GRAN TURISMO 4, PROJECT CARS 2 & 3 all sounded the best!

Not to be a fanboy because I am actually a fanboy of Gran Turismo, but it is not as bad in FM8 as you made it look. Honestly the Benz Sauber is not a bubbly V8, it does use a turbo that makes the sound more muted and sounding a bit like a V4. I'm not saying the sound in FM8 is perfect but it is far from being pathetic

personnally i still think that Assetto corsa is the best, to me it feels like in fm7 and pc2 it feels very dulled down compared to AC. i have tried to drive that thing on full turbo with no TC, ABS, stability controll and manual clutch. I tell you that thing is the ONLY car in the whole game where i actually have to try not to crash lol
But one should not forget that AC is a real simulation and not SIMCADE. But in AC the C9 sounds super GREAT with the sound mod from Fonsecker xD. And Fonsecker does really good sound modifications that are very, very close to reality. The best example of this is the Corvette C7R as a sound mod from him.
The best thing is to fly over the Nordschleife with the C9. Drive yourself with real driving aids and gears. So in this case without driving aids and manual Gearshift, nice heel and toe ;-)
