One funny thing about the AI at the highest difficulty is that once you actually overtake them, they just give up - they forget how to drive and end up crashing/or taking unusual lines to lose time so it makes the overtake feel way less satisfying/rewarding.
The worst part is, having played the crap out of FH4, I can assure you the AI is similar. Same with 5, but to a bigger degree. They somehow managed to make their AI even worse than before not once, but twice

Any gane that was enjoyable and not just mediocre good was sent to the shadow real or its successor have completely ruined its legacy, Driveclub is an example of that a game that was ahed of others and surprisingly get this get this..........people enjoyed playing it.
They’re making more money than ever and putting out absolute garbage. At some point you’ve got to blame consumers. Most gamers are addicts and will pay to play anything, no matter how much they’re warned that the game is garbage.
Halo Infinite and Forza Motorsport have some things in common:
-Built from the ground up
-6 years of development +delays
--Washed out visuals
-Lacking features and content at launch
-No split screen
-Broken functionalities
-"platform for the next 10 years"

I am so happy I quit racing games before the microtransaction sh*tshow that is modern racing games. Gran Turismo V was my last modern racing game. And honestly, it has more cars baseline than this entire game does.

I havent even got to experience the crappy progression system because it runs so bad on my Intel/Nvidia desktop. I have an all AMD laptop that Im going to try on but dang Im disappointed and I didn't even buy it. I grew up with forza series and really want to play it.
I really am sick and tired of big game devs that have insane budgets just releasing absolute shite.
It’s cuz Dan Greenawalt isn’t the developer anymore. EVERY single Forza game since 2005 has been with Dan Greenawalt since the beginning and this is the first crappy Forza to come out without Tag in multiplayer and lots of other things.
People keep buying it. If there wasn't any money in it, it wouldn't keep happening.

All of this for $70 while you could get a decently working used Xbox 360 with all the cables/controller for $50 and Forza Motorsport 4 for around $10 - $20. I got my 360 for $20 from a goodwill auction, FM4 for around $15 and a Logitech Drive FX wheel for $35 off of ebay for the rest and having a blast!

Finally someone who’s invested in the series and knows what they are talking about gives it a fair critique. All points are absolutely true and valid, it’s a baffling and incredibly disappointing game. I’ve played every Forza game at launch, except for 5, and this is easily the biggest let down in the entire franchise.

Also the AI is terrible and will make you want to quit after the first race if you have played a decent racing game in your life. They need to patch it. I miss NFS shift 2 even with it's faults.
Imagine developing a game for over half a decade, with said game intended to be a reboot of a franchise, and it ends up being worse than the worst games in the franchise before the reboot. Real shame. Also, welcome back again Shiny! (in video form at least)

6 months later and i honestly cant find a single improvement. its still lags, it still has plenty of rendering issues, loading screens can still softlock the game, i spent more time in the loading screen than i did in a race at nürburgring.
And this is why I am cautious when watching reviews from companies like IGN because this isn’t the first time that they did not mention bugs, issues, and other complaints present in games that come out. IGN and the like have been lying in their reviews for a very very long time now, easily 10+ years. You shouldn't use their website at all honestly, it's trash.
Also, Forza has a toxic fan base, so they always try to justify the really bad things the game has. At least for PC, is the worst racing game you can buy new.

A lot of those companies are paid off to make good reviews. You have to be careful and collect a healthy amount of data before drawing your own conclusions.

The fact the restart and skip options are in the 'exit' submenus is a clear example that the people making the game lack fundamental understanding of how any game should work, and the standards and practices developed not just for the entire industry over the past 30 years, but for their own specific franchise have just been lost to time.
It's horrible UX, and the UI is just kinda "meh" too.

@@killerbeau95 Forza series peaked at 3 and maybe 4 for some but definitely 3. Forza 3 was the game that sold Xbox consoles back in the day. It was the Gran Turismo 3 and 4 when those launched on PlayStation 2 and they were amazing. The downfall all started since Forza 5 on the Failbox One. That set a terrible precedent for the series. You all have to remember that this is NOT the first time the Forza series has seen a reboot - it was rebooted with 5!!
Instead of listening to no name youtubers/ sony trolls try the game. its free on gamepass and it is the best Forza Motorsport game to date.

Gt7 is the most fun thing to race on also online it has the bether grafics and all that caint of things. So What are you guys talking abouth. !? Forza motorsport is full of crap specialy online its almost like wreck fest shame on that. And also why the cars so slippery specialy the gt cars and some racing cars.. on normal mode its ok but when you turn the disable mode on its a big disaster. They must fix that stuff. They always want to start from scratch and introduce new things but seem to always miss because they removed what made past titles great...
well considering this is a "reboot" of the franchise and how poor FM7 was for majority of people that wanted a motorsport game to be sim and not arcade (if you want arcade go play forza horizon) they had to build from the ground up which is why we dont have any tracks we had in other motorsports yet because they are still working on updating them to the new games handling model and updating track layouts to better represent the irl track.
And the most confusing part about all of this is that this Forza Motorsport has the *same* director who has been here since Forza 1. He's the same guy behind Forza Motorsport 2,3, and 4, which are seen as the best games in the franchise
And yet he managed to mess up this game

Ya I truly stopped playing forza after FM3. FM2 and FM3 will always be my favs. The new Forza is honestly even worse than FM7 with only 500 vehicles and the multiplayer just sucks compared to FM7 I miss the Tag Virus mode.

I ended up getting the top version based on all the reviews. Granted, I didn't spend my own money (someone paid me $500 for a stupid TF2 hat), but still. That $100 could've gotten me a lot of games during a big Steam sale.

Way back in the FM3 and FM4 days, I was so looking forward to the day that Forza Motorsport would be able to properly rival and beat Gran Turismo. As each non Horizon title came, an went, Turn 10 seemed to fall off more and more with being a true racer as it had felt before. Now FM is just a shadow of its former self as the Horizon titles take more and more precedence over the game that put Turn 10 on the map to begin with.

Sad to see the game that has been worked on longer than FH5 Itself be such a let down, missing many features that have been worked on in both Motorsport and Horizon not being used, bugs and glitches almost if not everywhere, graphics and sounds being horrible, and the upgrade system being horrible.

I'm still astonished that this game has been in development for so long yet feels like a rush job, I didn't really look into anything about this game (just been happily playing FH5 and Gran Turismo) but I am genuinely amazed at how buggy and unfinished this looks. Developers often lie about "development " time as a marketing tool. They might start planning for the game a long time prior to the release, and use that as a reference point for development time. Most of the time, full manpower is not set in until the last year prior to release or, just like so many other things in the coorporate word, development time is more or less a lie.

6 years between FM7 and this. I bought it and played it. It simultaneously feels like a pre-Alpha build for FM7 and also FM7.2 at the same time. No experimental drag and no drift lobbies and drift events despite all the work they put in to put that stuff in the game in the last game. But yet it feels like they slightly improved the racing in general from FM7. Its like what the hell were they doing for 6 years????

Everyone asking why this game took 6 years. The answer is that it didn't. It probably took "A" year and with a very small team working on it. They (as noted in the video) mostly copied assets they already had and just did the bare minimum to call this a "new" game.

I love how games will take literally every ounce of customization out and then add it back in as a “free dlc” or even worse will add it back in as a micro transaction that you have to pay for.
Its insane they have drift suspension without drift tires, but also drag tires with no use for them as well. It almost seems intentional, like it was out of spite or something. Its quite difficult to be incompetent in such a specific and ironic way.

My guess is the drag racing and drifting events will be coming at, or soon after the full launch. Why its not here now when the tires/suspension is i cant answer. But on the plus side they said all future tracks are going to be free, and ive seen no system that could be leading into microtransactions so far.
That being said, it looks like the main thing the $30 premium upgrade gets you is the car pass and vip thing. All other future content being free. If thats going to be the case, then thats a plus at least.
What impresses me the most, is the amount of people involved in the project for so many years and yet no one was capable of pointing out those flaws.

This shit is $70 and I am baffled that it's been 6 years already since the last FM game with FM7 that wasn't even that good compared to the previous entries of the franchise. For $70 now you could just get a 360, controllers/cheep 360 wheel, and a copy of FM4 off of ebay and have a better racing experience and overall video game experience than most racing games on the market right now. New racing games to me are *Boring. As. Fuck.*

The game's bascially a shell of what was promised and what it should've been: A new game from the ground up, not a re-badged early access title.
It makes me sad how games are being pushed out so unfinished, that one gets 2nd hand embarrasment while playing sometimes.

@@falcongamer5867 I worked as a beta tester for MSFS 2020 game and people like you don't understand how much work is being put here by developers, they literally said we have around 300-400 employees working full time daily 6 days a week 9 hours a day and some even at home working....... And they said even with that it will take over a 2 decades to bring a game problems free...
Having 300-400 users testing it is different than a freaking Hundreds of thousands if not millions are reporting it's issues..... The target is to bring a game to 7-8/10 sort of rating and make it a 10/10 game over time and this exactly what happened with many other games out there......
So people complained about Forza having no meaningful progression and they tried to fix it with grind. Brilliant. Now whoever was on a fence will just skip this game entirely.

I have the Golf, and you’re absolutely spot on. I used the Civic in the first TCR race and was met with a lobby of 20 other people using the Golf.
Ended up using the Golf and it’s on rails. It’s a shame that it’s a P2W car, although I’m guilty of using it, it shouldn’t be that way.

There’s definitely a lot of merit in learning setups as I think non-meta cars could be really competitive, but for most people they’re not going to bother, so cars like the Golf and the R8 LMS are just going to be commonplace in the regular lobbies.

This is officially the last Forza game that i will ever buy. I was honestly hopeful when they said they were going to revitalize the Motorsport series. But this was trash. I tried liking it... But i also have GT7 and Forza just doesnt stand a chance against it.
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but under the "basic video" settings at the very bottom where it says like "image moderation" or something like that, for some reason mine keeps switching from nvida dlss to amd fx2.... something or other. I have an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070. I know this game is beyond broken for most PC players but I wasn't sure who else was having this issue. I keep trying to look at different ways to fix some of the settings on here to boost FPS and resolution but at this point I feel like it's on the developers to get things fixed. Kinda sad after paying $100 and waiting 6 years for this to release.
Just so you know the Subie remodel was meant for FM7 but they forgot to introduce it so they're giving it to FM. Hence the hazy headlights cuz in those days the cars didnt have fully see through headlights.

the saddest thing is that rendering turned out to be bogus anyway. The ray traced effects they made big noise about are barely worth turning on for how limited the distance they draw at is.

Choro Q (Or Road Trip Adventures 1/2), Enthusia Professional Racing and Auto-modellista for the PS2 have stylish graphics, unique Locations, interesting and funky OST and plays really different from one another that I really adore and find it to be fascinating to discover these old racing games that some you need a compatible racing wheel (Holding on my DFGT to play older racing games) to even play like Enthusia and it feels fantastic with a DFGT! That's why most people who still give a fuck about the dedicated part for racing games are upset that the era for creativity and making a video game, a video game to just being all about graphics and physics ONLY without the personality that the games I listed makes it all the more desire to have something that is just stand out from the rest.
No, NFS Unbound half-assed-ness doesn't count with the cel-shaded player models mixed with realistic graphics that looks really off and makes it a glorified fan mod. And a ton of pacing and quality of life problems that game have as well for the single player which I only played for 16 hours before I uninstall that piece of shit game and played heat more lmfao. $75 down the fucking drain!

This game is a huge disappointment as a Sony fan who was really wanting to give Microsoft another chance as I loved Motorsport 4 and the horizon games. But this is a let down
Microsoft has been completely bungling nearly every single release for the past two console generations. Phil Spencer said something like “good games don’t just happen” a while back, as if the disastrous products they’ve been peddling aren’t the result of gross mismanagement, the laying off and shuffling of staff, and the outsourcing of random, vital aspects of a game’s ability to function to random contract developers, no, clearly it takes some form of ancient Chinese bone divination to have the foresight determine whether or not a game will have a anything above a mixed perception, surely it is as uncertain as a coin toss. By all means, making and releasing a video game is an unfathomable difficult venture, but the difficulties that are being faced by all of Microsoft’s in house developers are either self-inflicted or enforced by out of touch upper management.
They were incredibly dishonest when they showcased the advanced ray tracing and track assets and car models in that 2022 demo, but what we've got instead is a watered down downgraded version. Just go watch it. They don't even push the visuals on PC reasonably above Xbox Series X's graphics.
Even the Series X graphics can look a little underwhelming at times. I have my graphics settings on Performance RT, and notice that on about 2 of the maps lose FPS. I know that it’s the Ray Tracing setting, but it’s *performance* ray tracing. On a console that outperforms most mid range PCs in most games (looking at you MWII). I would say that the issues are because it just got released, but if it’s been in development for almost 10 years then there’s no excuse to have these glitches. I’ve never experienced them myself other than the FPS issue, but if there are known issues that are longer than your average CVS receipt, then this game should not have come out. It’s just down right not acceptable. Even studios like Insomniac know this and have a 60 FPS Ray Tracing option for Spider-Man 2, and they’re not as big as Turn 10. Bigger companies and studios need to realize that we prioritize good gameplay over graphics. While good graphics are nice, they should replace good gameplay. This is exactly why the Batman Return to Arkham games are still great 😂

Microsoft needs to pull this game and give a refund to everyone till its ready, that way they're held responsible for thinking it was alright to sell it like this. Because to upgrade your cars, your only handicap would be your own money if you don't have enough.
However, to progress through the License Tests or BUY CARS you had to be at certain level to do it.
I've never played gt5 myself, but i think it's also comparable to the wait for gt5. It took 5 years (compared to gt4 taking 3) and multiple delays. and when it Came out, it had similar problems like reusing outdated car models, and an annoying progression system, albeit this is far worse than gt5. (Btw ive only played gt4/6/sport/7)

I haven't played any new racing games in a while and coming from older racing games that were actually good, I cannot believe the state that the team released this game in. Things such as inconsistent graphics, map glitches and cars in the wrong sub-menus should have never been in the final product. Sure, these things will most likely get fixed in a future update, but the fact that major issues like these are even in a game in the first place is shocking!
What disappointed me the most is the tracks that were deleted. Especially Bathurst Mt Panorama circuit. Was the only thing I was looking forward to.
The new Forza Motorsport makes me feel like we treated FM5 too harshly.

wow so i had purchased this game early and played it a bit before launch. hoping that it would be fixed then. it took me 10min to actually get on a multiplayer server. when the race countdown finally got to 0:01 it froze there for several minutes. why have a countdown? then i got rammed off the track on the last lap and finish 13th. then had to sit in the end race screen for several minutes before i was able to actually leave. literally waiting way longer than racing. would love to upgrade my vehicle but i don't have hours to waste on a D class car. or any car for that matter. what happened to grouping up with friends, picking a car and class, upgrading and racing? like "hold on guys, lets choose a car and a month later we all will meet up and be able to race?" oh well i raced that one race and then i searched "forza motorsport what did they do?" and ended up here
I was really hoping this would be a good release.
I've got a mean PC now, and have had a proper racing wheel for over a year, but Assetto Corsa has basically no singleplayer campaign, and I'm hungry to play a proper driving sim with my current setup. I'd go for the tried-and-true offerings, like iRacing and RFactor, but they've got such a heavy focus on online, or a subscription fee, so I can't see the justification for going that route when I could just as easily continue with AC and play the Shutoku Revival Project for another 20 hours. I don't have a PS5, either, so connecting my G29 to GT7 isn't on the cards either.
Maybe next time.
