      I got this after an abusive relationship with my 2013 1199 Pani. I love this bike. Way better for street riding in terms of comfort and power delivery. It doesn't burn my thighs. The quick shifter is amazing. Don't forget about the looks. No it's not an Italian beauty, but it's got some "dayum she purdy" to her! Nice video!

      I thought they redesigned the face, to make it more like the 250r. It’s been to two year already. They usually do facelift or tweak the engine a bit

      I agree about Honda. Whether its jets, lawn mowers or bikes...they are a separate class. And character or personality they lack? I finally figured out what that was a few years back. My buddies Panigale S kickstand gave up one day and threw bike on the ground. $4200. Then one ride he tried to shift to second. Would not shift. kept trying. Then trans locked up, which locked up rear wheel(yep, with clutch pulled in). Output shaft broke internally. But hey, it had 6000 miles on it, so maybe worn out? And it was just a first gear high side. Only broke arm and shoulder...oh, and that concussion thing. Fuck personality. Anyone looking for a low mileage(for a Honda) Panigale? Lots of personality!!

      @@plumcrazybee7347 Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds like a true nightmare. Here in Japan most people including myself ride only Japanese bikes (no surprise). I know people who have done 50 k trouble free miles on their CBRs doing just basic maintenance. These machines will run forever. I bought my wife a used KTM RC390 though because she really wanted no other bike. We'll probably get it next week but I am already scared as hell.

  • @jeremybly
    @jeremybly Рік тому +3

    I had that bike, and once you put a full system on, a race air filter, 2 up on rear sprockets, the sp2 velocity stacks, and a really good tune, the bike becomes an absolute monster! Very aggressive looking, feeling, and seating position bike. Not many people know how to tune it correctly but if you hey someone who knows the bike you can get it over 200 crank hp and over 185hp to the wheel. And sitting at 400lbs with a few weight removing mods that makes it massively powerful.

      I mean the regular cbr1000 has a fuel gauge. They took it off the SP model I assume because they didn’t think people would use the sp on the streets.

    • @plumcrazybee7347
      @plumcrazybee7347 4 роки тому

      Who gives a crap? My 2017 SP2 seems to be perfect without one. Marchesini, Ohlins, Brembo, Ti gas tank, Ti exhaust....not going to cry about a gauge I don't care about. I know how far it can go. Honda took it off display because there is more important shit to show on an SP. And the quick shifter delay is adjustable that wasn't liked in vid. Great video though!

    awesome thanks for the video. ive still got my 2013 repsol Fireblade ! Spent a fortune doing it all up with a full carbon akrapovic race exhaust system (to get rid of the catalytic convertor) - custom ECU mapping, ohlins rear and KTECH front - custom seat both front and rear - a lot of custom protectors and have raced it on the local track a few times, still my baby ! I love Honda paintwork, it lasts so long if you look after it. One thing - i never understood why honda do not supply braided brakelines as standard. I upgraded mine with orange HEL cables - took 5 hours to bleed the brakes for the ABS system. The 2019 model is very powerful, thanks for sharing again, your enthusiasm was infectious (hello from Ireland!) - needs a rear tail tidy! . I think the Fireblade is the best road bike of all the super 1000cc models. love the midrange.

    Hey man i must admit coming back into the bike game after a 17 yr hiatus im guilty as sin of falling in love with all these new bikes such as the Bmw S1krr, Yamaha R1, Aprilia Rsv4r and The Ducati V4r.... mostly bc its all you see snd hear on UA-cam and on the streets.. But on my vidit last yr to bike show at Javitz center I stumbled upon this Beauty and i must admit it was the 2nd best looking bike there (V4R was #1). But if i were to go for 1000cc bike i think the Fireblade SP would be my choice!!! One bc its freeking Gorgeous livery and gold rims!!! Its pedigree of speed durability and reliability is second to none!!! And its up there with EVERY other bike in its class with rider aids and electronics now.... And its a Honda!! Back in my day in the early to late 90’s its all you saw on the streets on NYC!!! Everyone had a Rc51 or a 929rr or enen a F4i.. and now the Fireblade is like a blast from the past but BETTER!!! I think if im going 1000cc im going FB SP..
    sorry to be so long winded lol but this bike just did sumtin to me when i saw it.. took me back to a time when life was fun as hell.. gets that can count as it having soul plus your ride and reaction makes that statement as true as can be!! Thanks brother!!!

I would like to know if they have separated wheele control and traction control witch was earlier together in one system, because of this Honda was slow on the track and the issue with ABS system problems when you need a hard breaking also on the track!!!

      @UC0e35zafQl-coNnw1UQMSOg - I used to want an RC really badly, and finally bought one around '04. Disappointingly, I really didn't dig my RC-51 SP1. It was kind of novel, and had loads of torque. But it was so linear that it was almost too smooth. Sort of boring.
      The SP1 ran hot, was incredibly uncomfortable, and needed a lot of mods to make it rideable. ;It was also pretty heavy, relative to the inlines. Horrible clearance, and if you crash on the Tight Side of Palomar, your side-mounted radiator might be destroyed. The fairing needed to be cut in order to install sliders. Somewhere on Palomar is my ginormous peg feeler that snapped off in a decreasing radius turn coming down the mountain. Maybe it had to do with my bike in particular, but on high speed sweepers, the bike would sort of oscillate back and forth even though I had Lee's set up the suspension. It still felt planted, but wobbles don't instill confidence. If you know Telegraph, there's that one giant sweeper up toward the top of the mountain. That's where the oscillations would occur.
      The turn in was very slow, and countersteering would sometimes feel like you're wrestling with clipons.
      It's first gear was very long, and the bike felt awkward at parking lot speeds. You could go as hard as you want, but the front wheel would lift. I don't wheelie, but absolute power corrupts absolutely, and there's more awe-factor when the tire rises from clutchless power. Anyway, I don't know how the companies could make a v-t;win with as much horsepower to rival the 190-200 HP the new bikes are generating. Now that bikes are getting V4s, you get the torque and the speed. They are also far lighter than the RC. The weight of the RC felt sort of like the ZX-7RRs from the mid 90s.
      When I sold the RC and picked up my Gixxer 750, it was a different world. Tons of familiarity, fun, excitement and performance. A nice, peaky bike that would scream like a banshee above 9k RPMs.
      Just my $.02. I think the Aprilia is a huge step up from Honda's old V-twin.

    I enjoyed the review, but then I'm biased towards to the moto!. One thing, you mentioned it hat 189HP at the rear wheel, pretty sure that's at the crank. Also, Honda restricts the HP on the USA models due to noise emissions. This can mostly be restored via a ECM flash, (performed by most respectable tuners, although it can void the warranty). That being said, the rear wheel hp is more in the 150HP range, on the bike he tested in the video. Read all about it on 1000RR.net, facts.
