I’m going to say this again. As an owner of the RR, it’s not worth it. The bike is brilliant, more comfortable, has more power than you could feasibly use. I ride it to work, weekend rides and track days. It’s a phenomenal all round bike that’s very comfortable for a sports bike. Slap a titanium akra exhaust on it, flash the ECU (which you can do yourself) and you’ve got yourself nearly a 200hp bike (191BHP at the wheel) for 10k less. More comfortable, awesome looking. Unless you have the money and don’t give a shit and just want a trophy bike (and let’s be real, if that was you, you wouldn’t be here) then get the cheaper bike and live your best life my guy.

Coming from European rider, I have to note it's comparison of two completely different generations of the bike with a huge leap between them. In Europe and other non-US markets the double-R is discontinued and there is a "plain" non-SP triple-R available in stead of double-R, which would be more fair comparison. Double-R is still the good old road-oriented sportsbike, while triple-R is an all new race-bred sportsbike with the namesake being the only similarity, hardly comparable in my opinion.

The RR delivers the power in a far more approachable manner and it's output is closer to ideal IMO. In the years that I've been riding, it seems like anything too far over 150bhp makes me more concerned about how the electro nannies are going to react if I go into the next corner too hard for its liking or what the fuel cut will be like if I give it too many beans on corner exit. OC: This isn't a fair comparison. The RR has two other "SP" models that you completely skipped. The SP1 and the SP2, both of which have similar features to the RR-R SP. These features include braking systems, suspension, weight, and even looks. Although I will say that the RR-R SP is the first bike that I have seen to completely stun most (if not all) non-Honda fans. So much so that even chaseontwowheels does not believe that the RSP should be a CBR :) No surprise here. Anyways, nice video though...

The rr and rr sp is not really that much different in terms of power the only difference is the suspension adjustment by hand or by electronics the brakes don’t work equally as good they just fade faster on the road there real no difference you only feel the difference on the track there only a 1kg weight difference between the 2 and it’s not unsprung or rotational mass.

I consider this video totally unfair for comparing two different generations of CBR.
I own a 2019 CBR 1000 RR SP2 and has the exact same body like the 2021 CBR 1000 RR you present because Honda kept the same style between 2017-2021 for RR generation
Now you to compare the last generation of regular CBR 1000 RR (2017-2021) with the new generation of Fireblade (2021-present having new engine/design) it shows that probably you didn’t do enough research before or you are just unprofessional!
What about you to compare a 2019-2020 CBR 1000 RR SP2 with a 2021 Fireblade RRR? You'll be probably surprised that the differences between them are insignificant besides design(because let's be fair - design sells!!!! Especially for this idiot generations craving for attention on social media)!

This video is a prime example of miss-information. To start with, the RR model is actually a left over 2019 "SC77"(the exact model in lineage of WHAT CBR it is) where as the 2021 Triple R-SP is the NEXT model year of CBR, known as an "SC82". This is because everywhere else in the world got a base model version OF the Triple R, where as America got last years left overs because they didnt sell well in America, and Honda didn't want to bring the base model Triple R to the States in fear of low sales. So YES the Triple R-SP is 100% deserving of the CBR name, as it is technically the REAL CBR that was intended to take over the CBR name. Also the CBR name is NOT the only bike name Honda uses to race, the OTHER name is "RC" as in RC30/RC45/RC51/RC213-VS - the REASON why they cant name any of their current race bikes they sell to the public under the RC name, is because they use the RC name exclusively for V style engines where as the CBR is exclusive to inline 4 engines. They both have inline 4 engines, but NO NO NO THE TRIPLE R HAS A BRAND FUCKING NEW ENGINE! THE SC82 ENGINE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN THE SC77! Its literally the only reason why they can have all those new parts in their bike because it was redesigned to handle it.
As for the weight difference, the power to weight ratio in the Triple R-SP is MUCH better than the old SC77 model. For staters, a base SC77 will be LUCKY to make 175whp with a full system, filter, tune and stacks. Anyone who says any different is either on a very built engine or has a very untrustworthy dyno. In fact the low power was a problem Honda had in racing with the SC77, the chassis of the bike is very small and nimble, so if any more power was built into it, after a point it would be a bit unstable, lots of wheelies. The Triple R-SP on the other hand has a redesigned chassis to fix these problems and thats because it can easily hit well over 200whp with a very basic tune, full system, and filter, stacks are still being tested but its an easy 205-210whp bike, where as the base model sc77 would need a LOT of engine work and tuning to come close to it, anyone with Honda experience can tell you, HRC parts to build an engine, yeah thats gonna be a $30-$40,000 engine build not to mention the 3rd gear on that SC77 is historically weak, and the electronics love to create false neutrals with the quickshifter.
As for the suspension, I own a 2017 SP2 with the previous gen Semi-Active ohlins, they are easy to adjust and in the hands of a good suspension tech are GREAT when dialed in. HOWEVER Hondas menu is kind of annoying to navigate through and the Showa's are easier to see consistent results out of. The Showa will always remain consistent to how its set, which means the bike is predictable and easy to go faster on. On both Gen 2 and Gen 1 Semi-Actives, you really only see them working on the street, because on the track the servos do the work too slow and cant catch up with race pace. Manual Ohlins would have been MUCH better AND much more race focused, Semi-Actives are very soft and are very road focused, where as ironically the showa's really arent and are more race focused than the ohlins that cost twice as much. What Chaseontwowheels is talking about is because he is not used to riding a bike with tuned suspension, so when a bike does tuning for him it will be remarkably better for him than what he is used to. But if Mr Dave Moss tuned the Showas for him, he would love them both, and if he was track pushing the bike: the Showas might actually feel better.
By now if you read this you should know by now, the Triple R-SP has better electronics and display because it was intended to REPLACE the "RR" SC77 from last year, but America couldnt buy enough bikes from Honda in order for them to justify giving us the ACTUAL base model.
CO2W should 100% do what he said, and get a trailer and do some track weekends and do a bit more homework. He has a LOT of potential to really inform and teach riders, but only with proper training and learning can he do that. After about 3 weekends on track his content would drastically change for the better, and the knowledge dropped in the video would be much more accurate because he would have a backround that has been coached and tailored to understanding the bikes he is testing.
If I had 30k, I wouldnt buy any of those bikes, I would buy a used truck with a 6ft+ bed, a GYTR 2022 R6(the track only bike), a ninja 400(track built) and a track membership.

I think it could be a good idea for Honda to have a cbr1000r “single R” that is even more relaxed ergonomically. And maybe tuned for more torque. Kinda like a sport tourer? I’ve also seen some concepts for a version that would be like an adventure sport bike. Kinda like the s1000xr

They do have a CB1000R that is basically what you're talking about, just has a bit of a retro styling, they also made a sporty looking variant up to 2017 but that was replaced by the retro look. The adventure touring option is also a thing, in the form of the NT1100 but whilst that's looking like it'll be a very similar chassis to the XR or the Tracer 9, it'll have the 1100cc africa twin engine which is frankly garbage. Typical of honda to chose the most boring and underpowered engine in their entire lineup to put in an otherwise interesting motorcycle...
