Project Moneypits thank you. I think it’s fun to play around. Did some more mods and had it dynoed last week. Some more pics of seats I made and a few more bits. instagram.com/p/B1_-4w4Hw0y/
The bits on the frame that are screwed on that you asked what they were for are simply covers over a hole in the frame from the previous model, they are hidden by the fairing on the old bike.
I upgraded to a 2019 SP this year after previously owning a 2012 blade. The difference is unreal...I can ride it harder and safer than the old blade. Love it!!! Great review! 👍🏼👍🏼
I own this bike, sad how it got over looked and McGuiness blaming the bike for his “false neutral “ crash at the IMTT. I have 5,000 miles and 0 false neutrals. I honestly can’t say 1 bad thing about the bike!! It definitely doesn’t need more HP. I rarely take it up past 10k rpm, bike goes into Hyper-Drive and my eye sight goes blurry above 11k rpm. Full Akropovic Titanium Exhaust/GP Shorty, ECU -Flash!! Thats it !!! Fit and finish is perfect!! Looks like the day i got her!!!
I bought a brand new SP2 from Vertu Honda in Nottingham in May to replace my second BMW S1000R Sport. I bought it on a 3 year 0% PCP with an R&G tail tidy and first service in the deal with £250 deposit and it costs me £205 pm. A Bargain for such an amazing bike. I love it and love the fact they are not that common plus like you say it makes you feel special even if you're not Valentino Rossi.
Only ridden the standard R1 but found the SP to be a much easier to live with on the road and a lot more relaxing. Smooth, linear power and reasonably comfortable despite being a bit on the taller side.
I really want to try out an R1M 😈 but my SP is phenomenal and it’s very very good on track too so would be very hard to replace 🙌...I am short though so that helps 😁 happy riding 🤙
Pps. “People “ always say fireblades are too smooth. Well in all my years of riding I’d take smooth over aggressive any day. Smooth means I can change gears quicker. It means I have longer to enjoy the corners and focus on what’s ahead. Rather then having to constantly keep bike in higher revs just to use gearbox properly.........(ahem Ktm and other v twins come to mind lol). Yeh........ I like straight 4s. Well done Honda :-)
The CBR's are definitely the most street-able liter bikes. I've always preferred them for this reason. But two things they are not, compared to the R1 are: fast, and smooth shifting. The R1 has always been the track monster. Noticeably quicker all around. And Honda has always made the worst transmissions. From an 80's XR250 to a new Fireblade, they will have clunky gear changes. Very strange characteristic of Honda's but definitely holds true.
100% agree! I would rather have a bike with slightly less dyno figures but a lot more use-ability, this bike makes YOU a fast rider, very confidence inspiring 🙌
Yeah I have a 15 r1 n it is really aggressive n throttle is so twitchy even after flash, but thinking of switching to a 2020 cbr1000rr. I had a 04 cbr1000rr n I loved it! It was so smooth n stillbhad low end torque! But had to sell it lol
Late to the party but just needed to set the record straight. Other than the cylinder head & base cylinder head gasket, the SP2 motor is identical to the SP and base model and has pretty much nothing in common with the RC213V. The SP & Base have more aggressive cams that results in 189bhp, the SP2 has much milder cams than the SP and Base and thus only makes 189bhp even though the head flows significantly better.
That was funny listening to your involuntary squeals.😘😘 I'm still on my '07 Fireblade, 178kg,178hp,178mph,2T+ rear sprocket, and love it. Hard to justify the extra £10k for 11hp if you're not into electronics on bikes.
05 Repsol here... New to Moto-Vlogging. I noticed you had blur on the speedo. I'm wondering how did you add blur. I try to add it in UA-cam Editor, but it does not work.
Chad Slaffa I’ve had my SP for a little while now on the road and track and it hasn’t missed a beat! Honda reliability is amazing (although hearing the 2020 models are suffering from rod issues) I would personally take SP over S1000RR as I find the SP a lot more agile and you actually get a nice bit of spec with the ohlins, brembos and all the electronics 😊
I have the sp1 2017. My self I would not by the sp2 because there is not much difference between them for us mere mortals. They are both amazing machines. I have not bought this bike thinking 🤔 how much will I lose because to me it’s priceless the enjoyment you will get from these machines. This bike will never be sold this is my first love 💕
Gareth Davies regarding the first half of your reply, exactly that, it is basically a discussion as to whether you go for the very good bike or the great bike 😁 There is no ‘wrong’ decision, it really comes down to money and justifying spending the extra cash for the SP2, To a lot of people, future value is a considering factor as I myself would love one of either of these bikes, but can afford to lose a lot of money buying a new one sadly and my point about the massive value drop in the sp is correct as I just enquired about one with only 1500 miles and it’s £11.5k which is crazy, so much bike for the money! So now I’m seriously considering one as my next track bike 👌 Depreciation is great....if you are not the one that bought it new 🤣
@@projectmoneypits5204 couldn't agree more. I my self would never buy brand new I paid 1400 for my sp with 2000 mile on it best 1400 iv ever spent. Ride safe 👍

Hey Greg! I know you can put a 195/55 on with no issue to TC or ABS, and a couple of people on the forum are running 200’s but I have no experience of that, 55 profile I am 100% sure about for the sp2.
Well, to be honest, I need a lot power because I'm competing with a fast rider on a 2021 BMWS1000R. I'm looking at a used 2017 CBR1000RR and believe it's the base model, $10,000 is about the most I can come up with. I am having second thoughts after hearing what some are saying. Not that it's a bad bike, but I guess the GXSR will pull it easy.
Maybe S1000RR ? Also comfortable and very powerful. I'm considering one of the two. I'm currently owning an '11 s1000rr and thinking of buying a brand new one. Rode Fireblades half of my two wheeled life. Great review, keep up the good work!

As an update on my SP2(#67). The subframe does not actually run through the whole tail. Where there would be extra metal under the plastic, the metal is rounded off early to save weight. Also these bikes have a rider weight limit for the suspension (250lb rider max). They are also a nightmare to tune unless you have a tuner who specializes in the VERY tricky to navigate Honda ECU/woolich tuning methods. Tony Dykes have you taken the SP on a track? Curious to get feedback as I’ve only ridden one on the road and it’s a phenomenal road bike but equally I’m a track addict 😁
Great review , all be it a tad excitable (not moaning , great enthusiasm ) .., I ride a 2017 sp new to me 2 months ago and am really chuffed with it came with only 290 miles on the clock . Tony Dykes have you taken the SP on a track? Curious to get feedback as I’ve only ridden one on the road and it’s a phenomenal road bike but equally I’m a track addict 😁
No i have not taken my Honda sp on the track but it is great on the road
Nice review, sweet bike.
John Daughtry cheers buddy 🙌
How can Honda let these bikes leave factory without stainless steel brake lines?
That little bolted on patch on the frame is a frame slider meant to protect the frame in a crash so your bike isn’t immediately totaled
Austin Threde cheers, Just found out it’s available in carbon so I’m less mad it’s there 😁
Nope, that soft plastic cover is simply to cover the hole in the frame that is used to access engine bolts and offers no crash protection at all.
Great review , all be it a tad excitable (not moaning , great enthusiasm ) .., I ride a 2017 sp new to me 2 months ago and am really chuffed with it came with only 290 miles on the clock . Allot of rumours about false neutrals (not seen none yet) and brake intervention (not seen that either) giving the new blade a shall we say rocky start , apsolutely beutiful bike and would recommend to anyone
Desmo mick Moreton haha thanks, honestly when I watched the video back I literally said I have actually never laughed like that before! They really are such lovely bikes, it felt odd getting back on my blade after!
Looked like the A29 going through Ockley
It is indeed, love the whole stretch of the A29, great without traffic 😎
Yes. It's a good route down to Pulborough and Bury Hill
great review, I'm looking for one now. lol
I would take the sp over any current bike because im a Honda fanboy lol. However I do really like the r1m
Haha I’m also a massive fan girl but won’t lie the R1M look and sound is just 🤤
@@projectmoneypits5204 isn't it just.
i will buy one of those after this video, i was thinking to
buy the yamaha R1 60th anniversary 2016 but… HONDA is HONDA babyyyyy😅😅😅 from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

That bike looks 🔥🔥🔥
I'd have s1000rr m sport if I had 20K to spend and wanted to use that bike for fun only not fun + commuting. Otherwise plain stock CBR1000RR with changed gearing and RCS breaks master cylinder. BTW, excellent review.
Tomasz Zajac thanks man 🙏🏼 I really want to test ride the new S1000RR M Sport, it is on the list but agreed I would want it as a bike I pull out on a nice day off, not live with it constantly. Fireblades seem to always make very good allrounders. Just put an RCS on my track bike...it’s the best thing ever 😍
@@projectmoneypits5204 I went from GSXR 1000K7, full Yoshimura upgraded, 190BHP on dyno, to a stock 08 Fireblade with 156bhp on dyno. For me, the Honda was much, much... faster everywhere apart from the motorways. I could simply use more of that power more often, but the stock brakes nearly got me killed on the first ride :D.
F@@king loved this video!!! I’m a 6ft 17 stone wanna be road warrior! And you just captured all the reasons I ride bikes. Please!!!! Please !!! Do a ride to loomies! Love to meet you my dear. You have an older blade right? I have the new base model blade and it tickles my fancy just right lol Can’t wait to see your next video.
J Dude thanks dude 🙏🏼 I quite often ride to loomies. Got a little Sunday lap that we do and that’s a stop off for us, such amazing roads (particularly the A272). I’m sure we will cross paths at some point 😊 Thanks so much for watching and the kind words 👊 Ride safe 👌
I just want the cbr500r the baby 1000 as i call it.
sweet sweet bike 😍
Calvin the want is strong! 💪
I don't like Tail Tidy, I think it cheapens the bike tbh
The Chin Mount👍🏼
Charles צ'ארלס key goods 👌
Can’t wait to buy this bike in 5 years for 8k
ilovehotdogs125790 me too 🤣 Honestly look at the prices of the SP’s now..£11.5k for one with 1500 miles!! Will most likely be my next track bike 🏍
I have the sp my father in law has the sp2 #69 your video did not justify the real power hit the high revs
rootedflunky1 not in the slightest, only went to 10k revs as it was being run in 💁♀️ but I don’t have to tell you the speed you’ll hit in 4th gear at 10k anyway.
However I have ridden the bike since run in service, yeah it’s got good top end power but it’s the midrange that’s more impressive.
Nice bike
Budds adventures the want is strong 💪
"The golden retriever of sports bikes" lmao
HFR83 😁 The only other thing I know a lot about is dogs 💁♀️
@@projectmoneypits5204 I'm deathly afraid of dogs but this is a spot on analogy. I want to upgrade to a 19 SP1 but being 6'4 230lbs I'm not so sure now lol
HFR83 definitely go and test ride one, if you do find the riding position comfortable then you will have epic amounts of fun 🙌🙌
honda is like a tamed lion.. but when rpm rise it roars... hehehe
12:01 how every rider feels when they ride 👍
Dans View 😁 💯
You have an interesting accent, sounds Australian, English and south African all in one haha.
Oh yeah yeah 🤣🤣🤣 it’s so true! It’s half South African, half English so well done sir but some words I say do sound Australian/American sometimes...I don’t know why though 🤔

Hiiii 👋
@@projectmoneypits5204 I'm waiting with excitment for the delivery of my Fireblade SP2 from Hunts of Manchester. It should've arrived today (1st Dec) but there's been a hitch, nothing drastic, dinged plastics, they're rectifying it. I watched your vid and KNEW I'd made a great choice. ATB.
@@robert100xx so hype for you man 🙌🙌🙌 pop me a dm on Instagram when you take delivery 👊

was there something offensive about my comment ?
david marberry 🤣🤣 not at all, I laughed when I read this and I did reply! Don’t know why it did upload but I’m having trouble seeing comments lately too. Hope you are staying safe during this lockdown and I hope you are managing to get out on the bike every now and again! I’m dying to go riding 😫
Sandiii..
This bike is for persons no taller than 5ft 5.....otherwise your knee would be to your chest....gsxr1000r best choice!!
It is definitely a bike that favours smaller people like myself, but I think up to 6ft, if you added rearsets, you should be alright 😊
out of all the slip-on cans on the SP, that's one of the ugliest.
Chris Gunther 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 2 videos later and I had 6 people between UA-cam and Instagram asking for a link to that can...each to their own 🤷♀️
Appreciate your negative comment though 😘
@@projectmoneypits5204 The Yoshi or M4 look much better.
Chris Gunther it’s all personal preference, but I don’t think anything you listed is quiet enough to go on track.
Why is your voice all Mickey mouse?
Patriot3210 that is my real voice 😔 I go higher pitch when I’m happy 🤷♀️

Honda should be more aware of gender equation.
Instead of the HISS sticker they should put a HERSS on now.
Honda Electronic Robber Stopping System.
