This band is my current obsession, and one reason is how they can make an uber-fast and almost grindcore-ish song like this, and then a make song like the dreamy and melodic Omnos, and do both so beautifully and epically.
"Druuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssss, Animangaro. Lover of God Drus, Animongaro Lover of God I give the love, that i am given With truth against the world..." I turn my eyes in this part.
Most did, but not all necessarily. You have to remember that the "Celts" quote unquote, were actually a very mixed bag that included the Gauls, the Gaelic people (Irish, Scottish, etc.) and many others. Not all of them were the same, but their beliefs and practises were similar enough to get them grouped as the same people.
I might be wrong so don't quote me on this, but did the druids decide not write any of their rituals and incantations down as they belived it would lose its power? i heard this some where and in not sure aboot it
True, but the Brehon laws were written from an older oral source, and there is proof of a similar system on the mainland, as well as another written version in Wales. So while the Brehon laws are not universal, there was probably a variant that to some degree was. The Brehons are believed to be derived from an older Hindu set of laws, according to Berrisford-Ellis.
Rituals and "incantations" were passed down through families and clans by word of mouth, but some were written, later to help preserve them as they had started to become "bastardised" by marrying into other clans and such. If they hadn't been so, then we'd have little to no record of the druids, like with the Picts. Very little is known about them. Almost nothing exhists of the history of the Picts.
@Lawniedangle123 hey no need to be rude, i was just suggesting a batterist that i thought that people would like in case they liked the drum of this song. and i know that this song is awesome, never said it wasnt.
guys guys guys....thats not as fast as it gets, im not gonna compare and say one is better than the other, but if you guys wanna see some super fast metal drumming, you should look up George Kollias, Shannon Lucas, Nick Pierce, Shawn Priest, and Mike Van Dyne. super technical drumming
I like this song, I really do. But I'd like it a HELL lot more if they'd do less Blastbeats and more Folk-Elements in it. Pray they'll do a remade version someday on a new album. :O
@ZioLennucciO Nope man, surely changing their style was the best thing they could have done :D Their style is unique and perfect NOW... aggresively trashy drums can force many people to quit the song before it ends playing, ie. I'm one of them. --- Eluveitie's music is wild, natural, beautiful, inspirating, fresh like an air of woods and livingly cold like a mountain river... can't describe it fully but I love them.
gauls fucking rule. i want them forever!!!!!!! forever them dam them celts and scottish muzik!!!!!! love them!!!! forever!!!!!!! VALHALLA!!!! I WANT TO GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!
While I don't exactly take back what I said, I'm sorry to have said it. You were speaking a profound spiritual truth and I attempted to ruin it by interpreting its surface meaning. "The letter of the law killeth, the spirit of the laweth giveth life." Once again, my apologies.
One of the things that sets Eluveitie apart from the rest of "folk metal" is that they "do it right" with every aspect of their music. No other band employs proper technique with the "folk" elements of the music. Ornamentation is key. Anyone can pick up a violin and play a "litling" tune, but that doesn't make it fiddle music. Anyone can play a bad melody- on a keyboard with an accordion patch- against heavy guitars and call it "folk metal. IMO, Eluveitie is the ONLY true folk metal band.
if you liked the drums, take a look at the batterist The Reverend from the band Avenged Sevenfold.... his solos are 5 times faster. no kidding. anyways this song owns
@sweetakagabriel2 it's not mainstream just because you don't like it. ok, they sell more than eluveitie, but who cares? both bands have a shitload of good songs, just different genres
Just becouse the druids weren't christian doesn't make them satanic, infact the druids this song refers to were around a good 1200 years before your "Lord" was even suppousedly born. and as for th song, if you listened to the lyrics you would clearly hear that it never mentions Satan or anything to do with satanism.
@metalhealth1980 They are decent. To my ear, they haven't put much effort into being accurate concerning the "folk" elements of their music, at least not to the extent that Eluveitie has. There's a fine line between sincerity and gimmickry. "Folk metal" needs to be a marriage between its defining elements, not a form of metal modified by coincidental "folk" parts.
@audiobyrne oh c'mon, completely different styles dude, Nile is technical death metal....thats bullshit. Nile is cool, but you cant compare those 2 together...
that was early middle ages in Ireland. Which does not equal "the celts". Celtic tribes in mainland Europe 1'000 years before Brehon law might well have been rather uncivilized.
A CHRISTIAN (CHRIG)! MUSIC SINGING "PAGAN". DO NOT SEE ANY PROBLEM IS THE CULTURE OF PARENTS. ELUVEITIE SINGS ABOUT THE HISTORY OF YOUR OLD PEOPLE! THIS INCLUDES PAGANISM AND CHRISTIANITY!
@kook1028 I'm not trying to compare them. Just saying. There's a reason Eluveitie doesn't use blast beats anymore. For one thing: it doesn't fit the music, but you're also going to draw criticism from the metal community if you don't do it right.
This band is my current obsession, and one reason is how they can make an uber-fast and almost grindcore-ish song like this, and then a make song like the dreamy and melodic Omnos, and do both so beautifully and epically.
This song is the Álbum "Vên" ... I love Eluveitie.
"Druid" is from the album "Ven" (2008)
Mysteries... of skill!!!!!!
hey, hey. Finally I've found my new favourite metal band!
omg, dotarłam tu dziś w 2021, a tu ktoś z mojego liceum :D
@@marianowak237 o hej, Maria :D
@@Meph1k Siema, mam nadzieję, że masz się dobrze! :D
@@marianowak237 pewnie! A Ty? Widzę, że zmieniłaś nazwisko :D
@@Meph1k Tak, gdyż nabyłam męża, całkiem spoko ziomek i żyjemy sobie na tyle szczęśliwie na ile się da w tym kraju z kartonu :D
i kind of like it, its really diffrent and it combines my 2 favorite kinds of metal...a kind of more death metal with folk metal sounds really cool
"Druuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusssssssssssss, Animangaro.
Lover of God
Drus, Animongaro
Lover of God
I give the love, that i am given
With truth against the world..."
I turn my eyes in this part.
Do you have the lyrics? I've been looking for it without success
Real eluveitie
It's from the Vên EP.
I have no idea what they're singing about but I love them since I heard them the first time.
Most did, but not all necessarily. Wonderful song. Although, as some have already pointed out, the song is from spirit and not slania (:
Why is the album cover in the video from Slania? This song was from Vên.
As Oxhorn does clearly state in his video the melody is an Irish song called "The King of the Faeries" so it isn't his at all.
13 years late but it's actually "Caisleán An Óir", a trad hornpipe. The confusion is understandable since King of the fairies is also a hornpipe
this is beautiful
OMG i love Eluveitie even i don t now what the hill they talking about

@Lawniedangle123 hey no need to be rude, i was just suggesting a batterist that i thought that people would like in case they liked the drum of this song. and i know that this song is awesome, never said it wasnt.
It was mainly so that acolytes would not depend on written sources instead of their memory, and would not train their memorys properly.
I agree, man. There is nothing like A7X. :D I like E, but I will always be loyal to A7X. FoREVer!!
@jamaicamon2008
it's from Ven :)
I am glad we agree :)
@KetchupLoko You should look at Franky Costanza too, he is an amazing drummer from the band Dagoba :)
@Zanit013 Its more Metal than their other songs.
guys guys guys....thats not as fast as it gets, im not gonna compare and say one is better than the other, but if you guys wanna see some super fast metal drumming, you should look up George Kollias, Shannon Lucas, Nick Pierce, Shawn Priest, and Mike Van Dyne. super technical drumming

OHHH REALLY? - Doesn't it SAY that on the poster in the VID???
ohh noes!
@Prankpatrolninja i don't know their reasons, but yes it is true, they didn't write anything around their rituals and other stuff
@ZioLennucciO Nope man, surely changing their style was the best thing they could have done :D Their style is unique and perfect NOW... aggresively trashy drums can force many people to quit the song before it ends playing, ie. I'm one of them.

makes me wana lift a claymore n run through a field =P
ok, that's interesting, thanks.
The Celts had a very civilized method or punishing criminals, look up the Brehon Laws.
@shawndw1000 oh, yes, in fact, I have a whole load of their vids there. Now CHECK THEM OUT, for Christ's sake, none of them are trashymetal-like.
:)
Almost 100,000 views... Eluveitie ftw!
The Celts had Druids, and the Vikings had Rune Readers.
@jimbrownie I agree lol. Only drummer i like more is frost.
One of the things that sets Eluveitie apart from the rest of "folk metal" is that they "do it right" with every aspect of their music. No other band employs proper technique with the "folk" elements of the music. Ornamentation is key.

IMO, Eluveitie is the ONLY true folk metal band.
why are druids so OP?
@TheLynxie That would be Swiss, not Swedish.
Don't even mention A7x on folk metal page.
lol didn't realize you already called it
this drummer is faster than minigun!
if you liked the drums, take a look at the batterist The Reverend from the band Avenged Sevenfold.... his solos are 5 times faster. no kidding.
anyways this song owns
this song is sort of folk black metal because its so fast.
Im playing a goddamn druid in world of warcraft :D
Looking at the God in the old testament for example.. yes I do know more about what's good and bad :)
o shit his legs must have broken off after this song.......
@Zarehinvain Except not quite..
actually they were all druids :) just under another name.
my kelts.
@sweetakagabriel2 it's not mainstream just because you don't like it. ok, they sell more than eluveitie, but who cares? both bands have a shitload of good songs, just different genres
the druids are the Vikings priests
It's hard to know what fairytales want of us.
Lol, nice. They piss me off as well
Just becouse the druids weren't christian doesn't make them satanic, infact the druids this song refers to were around a good 1200 years before your "Lord" was even suppousedly born. and as for th song, if you listened to the lyrics you would clearly hear that it never mentions Satan or anything to do with satanism.
Ouch.
@shawndw1000 but ANYWAYS they're still Eluveitie and I enjoy their music.
But that's lame.
@metalhealth1980 They are decent. To my ear, they haven't put much effort into being accurate concerning the "folk" elements of their music, at least not to the extent that Eluveitie has. There's a fine line between sincerity and gimmickry. "Folk metal" needs to be a marriage between its defining elements, not a form of metal modified by coincidental "folk" parts.
good song but i like their melodic tunes more
@audiobyrne oh c'mon, completely different styles dude, Nile is technical death metal....thats bullshit. Nile is cool, but you cant compare those 2 together...
@exsangu666 That name sounds more Welsh :L
that was early middle ages in Ireland. Which does not equal "the celts". Celtic tribes in mainland Europe 1'000 years before Brehon law might well have been rather uncivilized.

very bizarre music. sounds good. and odd.
@kook1028 I'm not trying to compare them. Just saying. There's a reason Eluveitie doesn't use blast beats anymore. For one thing: it doesn't fit the music, but you're also going to draw criticism from the metal community if you don't do it right.

@Zarehinvain Satanic? are you kidding me?
