Was this in response to the FD indication? Do you remember what the problem was? My SR22 with a 55x always climbs (Even if I just press ALT). But, it will follow the FD bars (unlike yours, apparently)
Thanks for your posting I only wish your audio level would've been higher. Had hard time hearing you but I did learn what i needed to know i believe in order to fly the Prepar3d PA34 Seneca V as I didn't understand the functionality of the AP..thx again
We have an SR22 with the 55X autopilot as well. I may need to let our pilots see this video since they expect it to fly like the digital autopilot we have on other aircraft.
Can you do this with the S-Tec 55X? Set heading bug to runway heading, v-speed bug to +500, altitude bug to 2000, then give it power. As soon as it is airborne punch HDG. As soon as your pitch is stabilized hit VS. And have it climb up to 2000 and level off automatically? Am I asking too much of the unit? (I tried this and failed utterly)
Can you comment on the procedure you use to enable the GS capture when using the APP key to do coupled approaches? I've found some cases where the GS will not engage if the ALT VS is enabled. If ALT key is pressed 2x, then this disarms the VS mode and allows the GS to engage, I think. Just trying to drill down to exact state the 55X wants to be in to enable GS (something I don't care to fool with in actual).
@@MarekMarciniak At the final approach point with the AP in Nav and the Alt fixed, I hit Alt 2x to release and then select the APR key. You should then be coupled and you can confirm when you see the GS indicated on the display
@@12romeo53 ok thank you, so to summarize: you are being vectored to ILS approach- you are in HDG and ALT modes, when you get the last vector to intercept the localizer you press HDG + NAV, when the AP captures the localizer you manually disengage the ALT mode by pressing ALT button twice and then you press APR mode, is this correct sequence?
Hi. I am flying ifr training with archer g1000. For the auto land with precision. I have 2 options: 1. Nav button press 2 times then press Apr button or I press and hold Nav button then i press Apr button. Which one is correct? Thank you very much.
THis was extremely helpful, but the audio was VERY VERY low. I had the audio turned up all the way and then had to bluetooth to a speaker that was also turned up to max. Other than the terrible audio, I found this very helpful.
Thanks for sharing, but I realized that auto-pilot is way too complicated. I thought you could just put in your way points and altitudes, and press go. I also noticed that the auto-pilot module is too low. It should be be at the top so that your eyes are close to the sky.
Very good eye, I was actually taking this aircraft to the shop to fix that problem. I didn't figure anyone would notice

Why is the flight director showing a "fly up" indication?
I wonder this too. I just flew the SR22 with 55x for the first time last weekend, and the flight director is basically always wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You need to press ALT and VS together if you want the AP to level off at 2000, if you do it will fly this profile.
The magenta AP wedge on the PFD is not lining up with the yellow wedge. What up with that???

did you figure out a proper GS or GP capture procedure?
@@MarekMarciniak Not really, but since I’m aware of this odd behavior, it hasn’t been an issue. I just wish the process was a little cleaner.
@@12romeo53 So how do you capture GS. let's say you are getting last vector to join final approach course on a ILS, what modes do you use

Tran, What autopilot are you using?
Why does the fight director not move? It’s looking for nose up ?

Nice video
can you do a video on how to use a g500 with garmin 430 autopilot?
strongbonez Unfortunately I dont have access to an aircraft with a g500 in it.
you should fix the audio. however the instruction was very good
Very helpful. Thanks.
Sina Granmayeh Great to hear, Thank you for watching.
Very helpful!
Never mind. I see that question was already asked.

That’s cool and everything, but I can’t what you’re saying.
shame you can just about hear you.
absolutely annoying.
crap audio. Worthless.
