This looks good. I will definitely have to give it a try. Love this video -- and the recipe. A can of tuna, an egg, eyeball the cheddar and salt (adjust to taste), and fry it in butter. No quantities to write down or forget... just a simple, healthy combination of a few ingredients, easy to make and looks tasty. In less than four minutes, we learn all we need to know -- unlike other videos that waste up to half an hour of our time. Bravo! Two thumbs up. 👍👍
Thank you!! I love this comment. You know? Every time I follow a recipe from someone (specially on Instagram) it never turn out like in their videos haha...So I tend to eye ball it most of the time and it is better! :))
@@infarrantlycreative I have experienced the same -- and, like you, ended up just eyeballing some of the ingredients or adjusting measurements. There have been times when I have seen the presenter do one thing while stating something else. 🤷♂️. Anyway, the more one cooks, the more one learns how they like one's own (or family's) food seasoned and cooked. Thank you for letting me know that you like the comment. I appreciate that. 🙂
finally a UA-cam stove and pan that looks like mine!
Haha thank you, welcome to the humble Club ;)
Looks so yum I’m going to make this. Thank you.
Lol I know right!
I do this all the time with salmon! Yummmm
This is just too easy! LOL!
I thought I was the ONLY one that used the plate flip over trick.
It is!! And it's healthy and delicious 😋. (Is there an alternative to the flip trick?😅)
really? People all over Spain do that to turn a Spanish omelette.
it saves burning your palm
Original idea, and interesting! And no carbohydrates, what a delight! Will definitely be giving this a try! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!! No or low carbs is the way to go 😊
@@infarrantlycreative I never had egg and tuna together. I 've had tuna fish with cheese (tuna melt as we call it in the US). I am going to try this. Thanks!
@@vtecharrys.6981 You haven't!? When I was little my Mum would make tuna omelet which is quite similar except for the cheese and the amount of tuna!
Oh gosh that flipping method looks like an awful burn waiting to happen🤦♀️- ER nurse
Really good to see easily bought familiar reasonably priced products from UK..thank you
Thank you 😁 NOT easy to find very affordable things anymore 🥲. But it is not that difficult to eat healthy and reasonable if you put intention and you're mindful 🙏
Very tasty looking and inexpensive meal. I need onions and a little bell peppers stirred in mine. 😋
I'll try that too 😁
never buy grated cheese, it has corn starch to stop the cheese sticking together
I know!! I have stopped now 👌
Finely ground sawdust actually. Look at the ingredients. It will say cellulose!
It's actually got a anti depressant in it too. Forgot the name but, it's right on the package towards the bottom usually.

If you're referring to Natamycin, that's an antibiotic for lengthening shelf life from spoilage!
American food is weird. Australian grated cheese doesn't have any of this
Brilliant! Quick, tasty, simple and keto friendly. What's not to love?
Thank you ✨️
I think it's safe to say that carnivore and Keto foods are popular.
Nearly 18k views on this video.
They are because low carb is the (healthy) way to go ;)
I’m making those! Great idea using the plate.
Thanks for making this video. Looks so good. Will be making this!
You are so welcome!
Might try this with smoked trout
Why not whisk the egg in a bowl, then add the tuna from the can to that bowl? Less washing up.
Absolutely right, haha
Nicely done!
I love these sorts of short and sweet perfect, easy recipes!! Thank you so much, you have got yourself another subscriber 😊
Awesome! Thank you so much!
Oooh, has anyone tried this mix as a chaffle? I reckon its a possibility
I'll try it myself soon 😌 🙂
Looks good!
A possible option maybe or for those not consuming dairy
To use pork rinds ( crushed or grounded ) as a filler or binder 🙂
Yup, that could work.
@@troytmdgreat suggestion. I make meatloaf with ground pork rinds instead of bread crumbs. Would work well with the tuna and egg too.
Oh I was just thinking the same thing.
Yep. Often have it for breakfast. 😊
Excellent! Thank you. Will definitely try this out.
Please do!
Very, very good. I think that even I could do this one. (and I can't do much) Gonna try it tomorrow.
I hope it went well ;)
this looke really good!! full of delicious protein!!
It really is!
Thank you for sharing your idea, I will try this.
You are welcome 😊
Excellent idea! TY
Thanks! But it wasn't mine to be honest, I saw it somewhere lol
Great idea. Looks delicious. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Interesting techniques! Will definitely try this for lunch!!!
It's really tasty 😋
That really sounds tasty. Definitely one to try
Dinner sorted for tonight - thank you 😊
Wonderful!
Good idea!
Thanks!
I LOVE very much all yours videos❤
Many thanks lovely "prima" ;)
All good ingredients, they look nice I’ll have a go later …🤔thanks for posting…👍
My pleasure :)
Looks good. Will try those, for sure.
They are truly amazing :)
That would fill me up on my one meal a day! Yum❤
Thank you gor this, I've missed tuna since starting carnivore. Ill definitely be trying this!
It's really good 😄
Try tuna mixed with hard boiled eggs as a tuna "salad". Also works with any other tinned fish.
It looks good! I would like to try the same thing made with ground beef and fried onions.😋
Sounds great!
Need to try this!
Please do, it's great ;)
that looks yummy....good way to use up the many cans of tuna I have in my pantry.
made it a few days ago and jazzed it up with seasoning, chives and a bit of low carb flour and flattened it to less than 1/2 inch. so good..... like why didn't I know about this sooner??
I would never have thought to do this! Now I HAVE to😂🐟🐠
Glad to have expanded your food choices haha
I'm hungry now. Thanks.

I love John Lennon LOL...and burgers too! ;)
I love butter - but that was a shipload!
i would use olive oil, I buy my tuna in olive oil and do not strain it
@@LandisLL That's what I was going to say!! I have made this, and I do use the olive oil instead of butter.
Butter is good for you.
Yummy 😊
Thank you 😊
I make mine into patties like hamburgers, and I also added keto, breadcrumbs or pork rinds not much and melted a slice of cheddar cheese on top or sprinkle cheese delicious
Sounds great!
oooohhh! and more cheese atop!! thx!!
Cheese, cheese, cheese!! :)
This is a good recipe. I did something equating this in my waffle iron :D
I am about to try that too!
Anyone tried these in an air fryer? They look very tasty! 😋
I will do!! LOL I am an Airfryer addict :)
You could also make smaller multiple portions that would;d allow them to be turned with a wide spatula?
If you let them fry well so the surface becomes crispy then you can do with the spatula :)
Nice little recipe! But watch out with pre-grated bags of cheese, they throw in potato starch to stop the cheese clumping together so there are carbs in there. Grate your own to be sure of no hidden carbs.
I did learn this and now I grate my own. Great tip, thank you 😊
I add pork rind crumbs to mine and make them into small patties.😊
I don't drain my tuna water...I've always felt nutrients are thrown away! And, certainly don't buy tuna in oil. But, if I drain I would drink it, or put it on my pet's dry food. (some might think too salty for them?) But, to each their own...
These tuna patties look great! I'm trying to find enough low carb recipes to feed my Husband so that he won't crave cookies! 🙏
Great idea on the pork rinds. I"m using them to make carnivore bread. Nicely done video: Concise, mellow background music, easy to follow.
@@Mr5thWaveI keep a bag of pork rinds in a peanut butter container in my fridge, it’s ground to the consistency of almost flour. Calves liver is not for everyone one but it is for me 🙂 I just roll it in some pork rind flour and cook it in bacon grease, so good! I usually eat it once a week. 🙂
@@brendacollins345 I"ll have to try that! I'm a liver lover too.
@@Mr5thWave 👏👏gonna love it!🙂
Roughly 1/2c cheese I would say
I would add garlic & onion powder
But that’s not strict carni
I wonder if it would work with canned salmon? Will have to try both soon.
Surely does!
Good recipe, although we call that a tuna croquette! One thing you might consider is to grate your own cheese from a block. Pre-shredded cheese usually has additives like cellulose (wood) to prevent caking.
Looks really tasty. Thank you for the inspiration.
My pleasure 😊
Shop bought grated cheeses can have up to 49% sawdust or flour added in it to keep shreds separate.
I now KNOW!! Thank you :)
Just started carnivore diet... nice idea. 👍 thanks for sharing 👍. New Subscriber here. X
Awesome! Thank you so much! I am meat-heavy, low carb too so more to come :)
@infarrantlycreative just had my weekly weight in... Lost 11lbs in 3 weeks.🥳🥳👍👍🙏🏴🏴. Ps. That Madagascar vanilla ice cream looks suspiciously like 'Tesco's Finest' 😋 😍
Looks good, wonder how they would taste on bread
haha probably great but I am trying myself to avoid bread! :)
I've just made and eaten it. I put a small onion in it. It was delicious.
Raw onion? Trying that today!
@@infarrantlycreative we get massive green onions, bulbs about the size of s chestnut, finely sliced, so cooked quicker. Lovely though, thank you 😊
The Tesco grated cheeses are usually coated in potato flour to stop it sticking togeteher.
I know!! (but didn't when I made the video). Now I grate it myself :)
I’m doing this today
How was it?
‘Twas excellent. Every so often I get the Tuna craving, and this recipe really hit the spot. Thanks for sharing!
Yes! I might add a little smear of mayo on top . . .
Sounds great!
So basically a tuna and cheese ommelete
Canned salmon probably pretty good too
Love this idea, simple and easy. And i did not have to listen to anyone talking!
haha, thank you for your comment. To be honest, I try to create the content I would personally consumed so, for me, not longer than necessary and to the point ;)
avoid bagged cheese, they add starch flakes to keep it from sticking and it just isnt comparable to fresh grated
I know now! Noted, thank you :))
Probably not exactly zero carbs because of the anticaking starch they put in the shredded cheese but good enough for me. Great recipe.
You are very right and I did not know about starches in grated cheese when I made this video. Now I know :)
Can I use garlic and onions for more flavor?
Yes, absolutely. Great idea :)
It better with juice yellow onions and block grated cheese instead of the chemical overload of pre spread and powder.
Agree ;)
Some Scallon would be good
How much cheese is that? 1/4 cup or more?
I would say approximately yes but I do like to eye it up and aim for a consistency that looks ok. It does not matter really.
I'll try with sardine, trying to reduce mercury in food choices.
I thought that too!
Eat small tunas. Mercury concern is valid but there's ways around it without resorting to sardines
Can't find anywhere the size of tuna can you used.
Oh really? I think it is from Lidl. Are not all cans the same?
@@infarrantlycreative No. There is a small size and large size. Never heard of Lidl.
Lovely recipe. Please consider cutting the mic down. The banging and clunking and scraping is so distracting and interferes with the visual, and the background music.
Some finely chopped onion might be a tasty addition.
More people have said this, I am trying it next!! Thank you :)
I do this and sometimes, just for fun...I put it in a hot waffle iron...
haha for fun, I like that :)
Wonder if this would work if you're trying to do no cheese on carnivore? Maybe put some pork panko in for filler...don't know if that would be good for taste but pork panko can surprise you.
I do love pork panko but here in the UK it is not easy to get. I buy pork scratches sometimes and do it myself. Cheese goes so well with so many things but yes, if you don't do cheese then it is a matter of trying different things. Let me know if you do!
I use pork panko instead of cheese
I’d add some chopped onion and jalapeños
Onions definitely a must! I know now!
Add some Pork Panko to it or meat flour
Meat flour!?? 😲
@@infarrantlycreative I think meat flour is Pork rinds ground finely. I have not tried Pork rinds yet but plan to find some soon.❤️
Great recipe👍
Thank you. Will try it soon.
Looks good and will make it. I ff through the video though, very tedious. We all know how to open a can and stir.
Thanks, though
Yes, you're right about that but still a short video. Also some people enjoy the process (although I think I made too loud) and, if shorter then it would be a short haha
Is that just one tin of tuna? Looks a lot..
It is and yes! It is a good portion.
I would call this a omelette. Because, it's an omelette. Good for keto though.
It is but in an omelette there is more egg than anything and in here, there is more tuna and cheese, so the consistency is very different ;)
Imagine this would work in a waffle machine?
I am about to find out...:)
Thanks, That’s a great idea! Way better than splattering up a clean stove.
Many Animals would've give anything for that tuns water.... 😢😮🎉
Another person pointed that out before...now I keep it for the kittens :))
Thanks for the recipe simple and tasty awesome 😎
Most welcome 😊
it is better with mashed potatoes and bread crumbs mixed in
I bet it's delicious but then you're adding a lot of carbs!
@@infarrantlycreative yes and a great energy boost
Your recipe does not say how much cheese to use went to your website and that does not say either
I just add it instinctively, it does not have to be exact. Just make it unique to your taste ;)
Most canned tuna, got soybean oil in it never buy grated cheese. It’s got cornstarch in it by blocked low moisture cheese and great it yourself instead of tuna by sardines or salmon?
I know about the grated cheese now (no when I filmed the video) and the tuna I use is in brine? But yes, much healthier without nasty oils.
Gonna try with pouch chicken Don’t like tuna😊
You've given me an idea :)
I’ve tried these and they were nice, but I used tuna in spring water not brine, grated my own cheese, ( mature cheddar but reduced fat), added some black pepper. They’re also nice with some old bay seasoning added.
Grating the cheese is a MUST (I now know) but why reduced fat cheese? Fat is good ;)
I was trying to be a bit healthier, I do prefer full fat cheese.. it’s nice with cottage cheese too.
I’ve also tried this recipe but using tinned salmon or mackerel. I really liked the mackerel one with a nice tomato salad on the side, didn’t need as much cheese in that though as the mackerel is very fatty and rich.
Buy organic goats cheese instead
Great idea!
Not pure protein
-fat also
.5 carb per egg
1 carb per oz of hard cheese
Most carni try to keep it 5-10 per day so keep track if u eat say 4 of these lol
That's not a tuna melt. A tuna melt is like a grilled cheese with tuna salad. I have no idea what this is. You could have just made a tuna melt on keto bread
I don't really know what a tuna melt is haha I thought sounded appropriate ;) It could be called a tuna burger too I guess.
It is low carb but it isnt zero.
You're right there, sorry :|
No! Any cat would have loved that tuna juice 😢 especially homeless ones 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤔🤔
Oh :( ...didn't think about that. I have a cat!
This has been a cheap meal in the Philippines for ever
Really? That's so interesting :)
This video should have been 30 seconds DA
Thanks for your observation :) I think we could say that about most cooking vids lol
Too much noise
It is not meant to be an ASMR video but I get your point. Thank you for your comment :)
Video without captions = useless (I have very bad hearing).
Sorry to hear that. From now all my videos have captions though so thank you for pointing it out :)
There actually was no talking, just the pan sizzling with this yummy meal, can't wait to give it a try in my chaffle maker.😉
drink that juice - do not pour down the drain
More people said that! Why? I kind of not like the idea :|
I couldn't eat these. Never mix cheese and fish (Italian rule)🙈
Oh really? Rules sometimes need to be broken ;)
@@infarrantlycreative so they say, but no thanks 🙏🏻 I'll stick with my cuisine.
Not meaning to put you down but this is just about as silly as not having milk and fish at the same meal. An old old wives tale here in the US.
@@cybersal7 well we have the best cuisine in the world, and cook fish in a thousand ways.
In the US you surely can grill meat and exported steak houses, KFC and Mac. 🤷🏻😁😂
Fish and cheese is a NO in Italian cuisine.
You can eat whatever you like of course, but if we're talking about cooking 🤭 ehrm...
@@cybersal7
Among the universal laws of Italian cuisine, there is that of never accompanying fish with cheese. We have never seen parmesan put on spaghetti with clams, nor accompanied fish-based main courses with dairy side dishes. Even in America, when you try to make some of these risky combinations, most critics consider them culinary abominations: this is what happened in a recent episode of Top Chef, when a contestant grated cheese on smoked trout. But where does this ban come from? Dan Nosowitz on Atlas Obscura wondered if it's a simple matter of contrasting flavors: after all, not all fish and not all cheese taste the same.
Commonly, in fact, reference is made to the delicate flavor of the fish and the strong and overpowering flavor of the cheese. Nosowitz points out, however, that there are seafood foods with an equally strong flavor (such as oysters or sardines) as well as fairly delicate cheeses (such as ricotta or mozzarella), and that some of these combine perfectly. The reason is therefore cultural, and rooted in the most traditional aspects of Italian cuisine. Julia della Croce, one of the most authoritative American experts on Italian cuisine, notes that the separation between fish and cheese applies above all in Italy, while in other countries there are several examples of contamination. We move from Greece, where it is customary to eat prawns with tomato and feta, to France, where mussels are often paired with melted cheese.
Italy changed radically after the Second World War, and people became very protective of local traditions, which were crumbling,” Della Croce writes. The catastrophic events of the twentieth century brought Italian cuisine back to the search for regional flavours. A first reason why fish and cheese do not go together could therefore be geographical: fish was mostly eaten in coastal areas, while cheese was produced inland. Which is partly true, because many cheeses have spread throughout Italy, and indeed the most famous (buffalo mozzarella, pecorino romano) come from areas not far from the sea.
Ken Albala, a food historian at the University of the Pacific, suggests instead an archaic medical origin: in the theories of Hippocrates and Galen reference was made to the chemical transformation of fish once in contact with cheese, a contamination that would have damaged the entire digestion. The belief in keeping them separate continued in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, up to modern Italian recipe books. A taboo that strengthened in the twentieth century and which, despite the gastronomic experiments of other countries, still remains a cornerstone of Mediterranean cuisine.
