  • In this video we look at how to build and make the trident Tackle hangover rig step by step but with a slight change by adding a running lead set up this gives us the flexibility to be able to replace the snoods should you need to.

    One of my favourite all time and go to rigs.... Trident tackle is spot on for this.... Only thing I do different is I replace crimps with a little bit of silicone tube as this doesn't damage the line and allows fine adjustment too

      Nice one Steve you can't beat tridents gear it's top notch, the way I make this rig in the video allows less crimps to be used being the only one under the hangover power gum is also a good alternative to replace the crimp but I will deffo try with the tubing as suggested what size tubing do you use and brand please

      I use gemini rig tubing... I normally cut it into about 3 mm sections and put 2 of those on.... Any bigger then it makes it harder to move and adjust... Using 2 smaller pieces allows movement while still locking into place.... The other thing I do is put a small bead under the spring to stop it from sliding over the tube (or crimp which I have tried too)

    Cracking video that mate. I made one along with you as I wasn't sure how. Can't wait to try it out. Looking forward to seeing some more rig making with some more trident components

    Very informative, I always thought - incorrectly that you had to be precise when tightening the crimp, how wrong I was ! ! ! In relation to snood length s
    Going to order some, apparently you can get Trident components from Veals MO now
    Cheers

      This is just one way of making the rig.
      You can make it the other way by crimping the swivel at the bottom close to the lead however if you need to change the snood line you have to make the whole rig again which is a pain in the arse!

    Hi jase you ok chief, ive used that system off trident for about 2nhalf years now mate. Top quality components at very cheap price for the angler. All the best mate from the north east coast GRIMSBY

      Alright Carl mate I know it's fantastic bit of kit far superior to any other way of making an up an over rig :)

      @@TheEastbourneFisherman i find it doesn't mark the line to much jase, were as when you use the gemini i find it makes that mark on your mono. ?? Is that what you think jase?

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Рік тому

      @@carldawson832 no marks on the line what so ever if you make it like this all the components are free to move the only crimp is being behind the hangover itself to hold in place or you can use power gum instead of the crimp

    Nice video Jason, and a rig I'll give a try. I was trying to figure out the benefit of the spring, but I can see it may reduce the shock loading on the hook length when casting and ensure the main body length takes the strain. I notice your braid scissors were struggling a bit with the thicker line, I've switched to using sidecutters for rig making and haven't looked back - because they pinch rather than shear they never roll over the line.

      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Рік тому

      Hi George the spring is used to keep the tention on line while in the clip
      Once it hits the water it ejects forcefully to push the line away from the lead

    • @TheEastbourneFisherman
      @TheEastbourneFisherman  Рік тому

      Deffo need new cutters lol

      With the running lead it's an up and over pulley rig so the tension comes for free. The lead will always slide to balance the rig for the cast providing the hook length is less than twice the length of the running length. Using a bait clip at the top of the rig reduces the parts count by 3 or 4 components. I don't think Trident have a suitable component, it would look something like the offspring of a Termalink and a Hangover.

    What surprised me is that the trident tackle things ain't that expensive 3 quid for 20 termalinks
